I think merit giveaways are a good idea if they consist in the giver giving a look at the post history and finding some quality posts to give merit to. Also, if newbies post in the thread giveaway the posts they believe deserve merit. That way some worthy posts that has been unnoticed can receive merit.
I think it's not a yes or no question. Some giveaways are a good idea, others not.

Pretty sure that Ben Shapiro has been talking about making this move for awhile. It really didn't make sense that he stayed as long as he did, given the fact that he is very anti EVERYTHING THAT CALIFORNIA STANDS FOR and then stayed there.
I truly thought he was in Texas or something along those lines, but lol that's a NO.
But it does make sense that he is leaving though, given the fact that California taxes are INSANE and there is no reason for him to be there anyway. It's not like he runs a manufacturing company, he runs a online company that can be moved at any point.
Well, I understand that, if he has lived all his life there, he has been reluctant for a long time to leave, even though he did not like the situation. I suppose he would prefer to stay in California but if the situation would be different

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u978w4CurDkI was a bit shocked to see this video. I don't live in the US but the concept of white flight for me about something that might have happened to a small extent in the past but this guy is moving his entire company to Nashville, taking its 75 jobs there. A guy who has lived his entire life in California, who loves California and moves his company because he can't stand it any more. WTF? He says that this will happen more, people fleeing Californa, New York, New Jersey etc. Do you think what happened in Detroit in the 60s can happen in New York or L.A nowadays?

I'm not too worried about that but I don't live in India. To ban something doesn't make it disappear and there are many other countries that have regulated crypto.
It will have an impact in the Indian market, that's for sure as Indians won't be able to trade (legally) and there will only remain as users those who use hard wallets, tor, decentralised exchanges...
I hope they think twice and don't pass the law.

I find it interesting what you are saying but I'm not sure wether the pools can do that. Can miners choose which transactions to process? Let's see if someone with more technical knowledge can enlighten us.
Anyway, it's a bit fantasy, as all the pools would need to act as a whole, and there would still be some miners outside the pools.

To begin with, we don't know whether bitcoin did start with "just one man". One of the hypothesis is that Satoshi was actually a group of people, although I think it is more unlikely.
I don't think there is a bitcoin society. What you call a bitcoin society is too vague a thing.
For me you were happy today and it hit you for writing this post but I don't see much sense in what you say.

I won't sell either. For me to sell, the price has to pass the previous ATH. I don't think I'll sell just when it gets to 20.000$ I'll wait of for a price a bit higher but not much. I plan to sell small amounts as the price goes up and that way I will always stay invested, having an equal or increasing fiat equivalent.

Polo7, you are starting up a lot of threads that seem to have a central thought in them, but mostly they're hard to understand what you're really trying to discuss.
He is creating stupid threads. What he says here doesn't make sense: ¿Who would vote for passive income (given to you by your government)? ¿And who wouldn't? He also equals passive income and universal income which are two completely different things. Also, bitcoin in can give you passive income, as you point out, as any other investment, by appreciation of capital. Another stupidity is the title: in this very forum you can find people who pay their bills thanks to bitcoin.

Why do you think so? I've read a couple of articles insisting that the US dollar dominance is almost over. Could you provide any info sustaining your opinion?
Because he thinks so. He doesn't give any argument to back his claims other than he thinks that and that's it. He must have a crystal ball so he sees things like that in it.

I'm glad you're enjoying poker. When I started I played quite a few freerols and low-cost tournaments, but over time I learned to play cash and now I hardly play tournaments anymore, as cash gives me regular benefits.
Also, I can't stand tourneys variance so much these days. like when you're about to reach the final table, you get AA, you see a whale pushing from UTG and he finally craks your aces with J8s after waiting for so long.

It is curious that most of them can be applied to the stock market, which reaffirms that crypto currencies (including bitcoin) are being used nowadays as high volatility assets to earn fiat money, and not so much as exchange currencies to acquire goods or services.
|
|
|
Yeah, well, good news but we need more companies that charge $1-$100 for goods or services to accept bitcoin directly (not through credit cards that convert bitcoin to fiat, bitrefill, etc).
|
|
|
I don't think we should. Points and miles are systems credit card companies created to rip people off. People on average spend way more money if you give them miles, points and cash back. Credit card companies are not little sisters of charity, they give you points because they know they will have more profits.
Bitcoin should be different, it should not incentivize spending.
I think it will be adopted because of how different to fiat currencies is, so it should not try to copy them.

Well there are some scenario's where it can be helpful. I unlocked a lot of deposit bonuses by playing like this. First get a decent profit and then just wager to unlock it. Where I played, you had one week to unlock it so there you could make a lot of small bets to do that. The more bets the closer you get to the house edge.
If it's to unlock bonuses, I do see more sense in it.
|
|
|
Why are you asking that?
I don't see the point in minimizing variance.
By minimizing it, the only thing you can be sure of is that you will lose money.
If there is more variance, you are more likely to make money, although you are also more likely to lose more than you would by minimizing the variance.
As I say, I don't see it.
For me the best way is not to play EV- games. That way, you reduce the variance to 0 and make sure you don't lose money.

It depends. What's your main goal in joining this forum in the first place? If you've been in other online forums in the past, it's pretty much the same. You ask questions, you discuss, you debate, or you could simply just read and not post anything, etc.
I was going to say this. It is curious that this question is raised in this forum. In any forum you register because you are interested in the topic and want to exchange impressions. OP just needs to use the forum and he will see. There isn't a way to use the forum that leads to have the best experience.
