looking forward to it. using .net client to watch coins come in from mining. shut it down and use transfer cmd in simplewallet to move coins if I need to. anyway thanks for your work. My current wallet is password protected. is there a way to unprotect it so I can try the moneroclient GUI?
I don't want to use a new wallet as I'm mining on address in my current wallet.
I haven't heard about a way of unprotecting Monero wallets yet (although, this will need further investigation). Today, I started implementing support for passphrases, so You will be able to use my Client soon.

(or could check history of wallet if doing it from same wallet)

@BlueDragon747 what are the chances of UFC (FederationCredits) becoming merge-mined with BlakeCoin. I know it fails on one of your criteria - it has a premine, but this is what I would call an honest premine.
there was some discusssion about that when UFC first came out as a blake. but there are other differences that prevent it.

actually only try. Would have posted whatever it said. ask again later, answer is murky, Yes whatever came up. it's just as approiate no matter what it said Based on the overwhelming numbers of responses you've gotten, I think it's time to ask the magic 8 ball. Oh magic 8-ball should Jude do a refresh and try to revive FFC? Don't argue with the 8 ball Haha, how many times did you shake it to get that response? Fine, I will leave FireFlyCoin alone.

It's not a that ByronP doesn't want to list it. but needs specific info about wallet code (not public) until that happens he can't not won't. This is my understanding of the issue. from the chatbox Can someone talk to Byron for me? I can't seem to get him interested in listing ELT at Atomic.
I'll put in a word on their trollbox later, don't know if it'll help much, I'm not a big user there.

From the scificointalk forums SCifi Exchange Status « on: Today at 08:31:23 AM » Last night Ahmed and I discovered the database issues still exist in the current exchange software.
In response to the continued buggy nature of the current exchange software, we are temporary closing the exchange. We simply can no longer trust the current exchange software, no matter how we patch it.
The exchange will reopen when the new exchange software is out of development and beta tested. The new exchange software is being written from the ground up taking the knowledge gained from the old exchange software and CCE3.
We do not have a definite timetable, but it is the top priority until completion. Ahmed is finishing up the multi-pool and it should be in beta very soon, after which the exchange will take top priority with him.
For those with an immediate need to withdraw coins, we will be processing requests by hand. The MX records have been straightened out, so e-mails will go through.
To request a withdrawal:
Send an E-mail to: info@scificryptocoin.com
Include user name, currency, amount you need to withdrawal, and address to withdraw to. For security, also include the e-mail address on the account and the PIN number.
Withdraws could take up to 48 hours, as we will need to comb through the database and reconstruct what the correct balances should be. Ahmed and I will be working around the clock to get the new exchange software up and beta tested. Beta testers will be chosen from those in the Beta Antares Shipyards program and possibly from the general forum if more are needed. Ahmed and I deeply regret this turn of events and are doing everything we can to turn around this situation. Both the new exchange software and the multi-pool were already main projects being developed, but in light of the current situation, our efforts are being completely refocused to the new exchange software.
You should be getting help for being unable to with draw coins. I think the 'your problem' part referred to your feeling anger at situation. exchange is down for maint right now so I hope your issue will be taken care of during this time. Note while I am a scficoin forum mod and blog on the website. I am just another user for the exchange. I will keep an eye on this and follow up. You can PM me here or email me mogrith@scificryptocoin.org

Android was OS RND function weakened. but a good crypto collects randomness from many places so it only effected code that relied too much on rnd function. Not to forget, there's some speculation in the more tinfoil-hatty segments that the NSA may have supplied algorithms that are "pre-weakened". Seems unlikely but with everything that has been coming out lately, perhaps not to be dismissed out-of-hand so quickly.
IIRC, it was confirmed (by Snowden?) that the NSA had weakened a random number generator used by some OS (Windows?) to generate keys in some popular crypto protocol (https?). The numbers were drawn from a smaller domain than clients expected, making the keys easier to find by brute force.
