So I uninstalled/cleaned PC for Byteball files/downloaded/reinstalled Byteball AGAIN on my Windows 10 Pro 64 Bit. Still crashes directly after starting up. Would be nice if I could get some support here. Not impressed so far.

Just installed on a Win10Pro64 myself as a test.  Took 4-5 mins to install.   Set to lite wallet.  Took about 20 seconds to sync.

Still no blackbytes, how much are they worth anyway per 1 btc snapshot?

Someone answered before but answered about byteball not blackbytes.

The very first post.

The snapshots for the 5th round will be taken on the Full Moon of May, on May 10, 2017 at 21:42 UTC.  This is what you receive:
BTC to bytes: 1 BTC of proven balance gives you 62.5 MB (0.0625 GB)
BTC to blackbytes: 1 BTC of proven balance gives you 2.1111 * 62.5 million blackbytes (money supply of blackbytes is 2.1111 times more than that of bytes)
Bytes to bytes: 1 byte on any Byteball address gives you 0.1 new bytes
Bytes to blackbytes: 1 byte on linked Byteball address gives you 0.21111 blackbytes

Thanks, got the bytes! waiting for GBBs.

I'm happy that the overall distribution will be accelerated by the doubling at the next round! With that the coin's value shoud settle faster.

Doubling next round? Where did they say that?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1608859.msg18963073#msg18963073

It was promised that the distribution formula will change in the future rounds to give more new Bytes to current Byte holders relative to BTC holders.

On June 9 we'll have the 6th round of distribution, and after more than 4 months in the wild and having survived multiple post-distribution dumps, I think now it feels safer than before to participate in the distribution with Bytes, that's why the formula will change in favor of Byte-holders.  Also, I want to accelerate the distribution to minimize the perceived uncertainty connected with undistributed coins.

So, these are the rules for the distribution on June 9 (nothing changes for the today's round):

BTC to bytes: (no change) 1 BTC of proven balance gives you 62.5 MB (0.0625 GB)
BTC to blackbytes: (no change) 1 BTC of proven balance gives you 2.1111 * 62.5 million blackbytes (money supply of blackbytes is 2.1111 times more than that of bytes)
Bytes to bytes: (2x increase) 1 byte on any Byteball address gives you 0.2 new bytes
Bytes to blackbytes: (2x increase) 1 byte on linked Byteball address gives you 0.42222 blackbytes

I got Byteballs, but not any blackballs. Are they sent at the same time?

No
685  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: May 11, 2017, 03:30:01 PM
I also signed with several BTC keys and the bot confirmed all the balances ...  have not received anything at all.
byteball v 1.8.2 on osx ..

Everyone bitching, but not one has shown a single address they believe they registered.

Just 1 BTC addy shown and we can see if registered and if coins in it.   Or, just PM me and I can check.

or... check for yourself...
http://transition.byteball.org/
Top right has a search box.  Just fill in your BTC addy to see if registered.

If so, then check a blockchain explorer to see if coins are in the addy AND confirmed at the time of the snapshot block.
686  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: 0 received on: May 11, 2017, 02:27:36 PM
Hi,

I received 0 in this airdrop, despite having linked everything and sent all BTC to that linked address. I wrote to the email address on the byteball hp. anything else I can do about it?

Are u synced? Check your address on explorer https://explorer.byteball.org/

I did everything as the bot asked me to. even got this message:

Your payment from xxx has 1 confirmations now.

Please make sure that xxx is indeed your address and move all your coins to this address. You receive 62.5 MB and 131,943,750 blackbytes for each 1 BTC of the total balance of this Bitcoin address on May 10.

Current balance of this address is 0 BTC.

I have sent the BTC in time 12 hours before the snapshot to the BTC address. My address is not in that explorer.... I am sure I did everything right, as I told my friends how to do it, and they all received their free coins

If you did everything  as the bot said correctly, then you would have byteball like everyone else.  There was an issue which we can't see without more info.
Without any real information, no one can see what happened.

You're gonna have to tell use your BB address or BTC address.

One more try.  Grin

1. I created Copay wallet. It contained 1 address (AAAAA).
2. I sent 8 BTC to AAAAA
3. Then I sent 0.001xxx BTC from AAAAA to Byteball
4. What Copay did:
   a) They sent 0.001xxx BTC from AAAAA to Byteball
   b) They sent 0.05 BTC from AAAAA to BBBBB (I never did this transaction - it's done automatically for what ever reason)
5. Now I have two addresses in my Copay wallet (AAAAA with 7.949 BTC + BBBBB with 0.05 BTC)
6. How do I get the BTC from BBBBB to AAAAA?

I hope this makes it clear.

This is not correctly.  You could not have put in 8 btc and only sent out .05.
There has to be input and output.
So, I think you have several small transactions going into AAAAA and the wallet app took the closest matching which was close to the TX you wanted to make.  it was done and then a fee was paid and the rest of the change went back to another address.

What is the Transaction ID for your step 3?

Read at LEAST a couple of pages back on a forum thread before posting questions that were just answered.

That said, you don't get free byteballs for simply linking an address.  You had to actually own bitcoin in that address at the time of the snapshot.  And, the byteballs haven't been dropped yet.

of course i know that, this is implicit, i linked it with an address with two bitcoin, but still zero balance on my wallet

So, you ignored the posts about the distribution happening sometime "tomorrow morning" which is today?
689  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: May 11, 2017, 07:04:04 AM
hello, i tried the android apps, am i need to send btc to claim the byte ball ? or i can claim it with only sign address ?

It's too late for this round which happened today.  Next one in a month.

You need to send btc to the bitcoin address that you register with the byteball transition bot.  You register that address by sending a small amount to where it says OR by signing from that bitcoin address.

so i linked my btc address but didn't receive anything, what i'm missing? i still have 0 byteball in my wallet, the last thign the bot said is move your bytes to the linked address etc..., what i need to do?

People really complaining about not receiving PHREE moniez yet?   Geesh.
692  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: May 10, 2017, 10:42:45 PM
Hey Michail. No. It's like what I said. I had 1 address in my CoPay wallet.
I send 0.001 from it. But what CoPay did: It sent the 0.001 + 0.05 to a new adress which contains now to my wallet.
The 0.05 are still mine. But now I don't know how to get the 0.05 back to my big address.

Which is what I said.  Change address.

But, without seeing the transaction ID, it's hard to explain/guess.  You're welcome to message me directly to work through this, but asking in a forum without any information is simply going to get a lot of guessing done.   What you think and what I think are simply guesswork until we're both looking at the same thing.

What are the "Blackbytes" worth for each 1 BTC snapshot, in Byteball MB terms?

1BTC = .0625
694  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: May 10, 2017, 10:07:41 PM
I've a question. I am using CoPay.
This is what happend:
I sent 8.5 BTC to my fresh CoPay wallet.
Then I send the 0.001xxxx BTC for confirmation to Byteball.
But CoPay not just sent the 0.001xxx. They created a new
address for my wallet and sent 0.05 BTC to it.
Now these 0.05 BTC are not longer in my linked account.
How can I get the 0.05 BTC back into the main account?
Anyone using the CoPay app?

I believe you mean that you paid .001xxx to byteball which came from an address (transaction) which you had of .05   So, the rest went back to you in your change address.

Example...
You have $10 bill.   You go to McDonalds and pay $1.25 for a burger.  So, you hand mcds the $10 bill, and they give you $8.75 back (the change)
The change doesn't go back to the same wallet position (pouch).   When you check your wallet, you see a Total amount in all pouches.

If you really look at your bitcoin wallet, you see different amounts in different pouches (different bitcoin addresses you control).

I am curious if the snapshot includes unconfirmed coins.

So, as a test (not intentional), I see a wallet which has coins and unconfirmed coins.  Wonder how that will play.
696  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: May 10, 2017, 05:46:38 PM

Yes hurry, the bot link is byteball:A2WMb6JEIrMhxVk+I0gIIW1vmM3ToKoLkNF8TqUV5UvX@byteball.org/bb#0000

then click ... in the chat box and "insert my address" and follow instructions

it say upgrade required

upgrade your wallet to 1.8.2

Almost seemed obvious. (sarcasm)  :p
697  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: May 10, 2017, 05:40:11 PM
Where do you see how many bitcoins are linked with byteball addresses? If it's possible to link exchange wallets or wallets you do not control directly it might be that most addresses linked are part of exchange's cold wallet. According to the official source, you can either make a payment or sign a message from an address you control. You're not bound to go with the second option since you can make a small payment.

http://transition.byteball.org/

You can't link an address you don't control.  Hell, if that could be done, I would simply claim all coins.

You have to make a payment from the bitcoin address you're trying to claim, or sign a message from it.

For your exchange example..... there is no way to know which address the exchange is going to pay with.  Also, according to the site, if you claim an address via two diff byteball wallets, then the bitcoin address is ignored.  So, even if you could claim it and someone else does, then the address is blocked from distribution.
698  Other / Meta / Re: Get Donator status by donating 10 BTC on: May 10, 2017, 05:34:19 PM
I hadn't paid much attention to this before but am interested in supporting, but I am curious, are we still at 10/50BTC given the intent of the original amounts and the current value relative to fiat?
Yes we still are.The rule of not calculating the value of bitcoins in terms of fiat is followed while taking the donator status otherwise it would be unfair for the previous donars.
Having said that, you can always donate whatever amount to the address mentioned in the donate tab.Forum doesn't depend on donations now.

I don't agree with it being unfair to previous donars.

Donating back then was about $100 for 10BTC.  Now, it's $17k.
Most of those who donated simply wanted to be on the list and it was cheap.   Asking $17k simply stops 99.9% of the public from getting a badge.  It also probably puts a near stop on regular donations as well.

At some kind of minimum, the scammers should be removed from the list.  It's bad advertising.

699  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions/badges (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: May 10, 2017, 05:25:12 PM
Since the value of Bitcoin has gone up drastically, relative to everything else, shouldn't there be a decrease in the total BTC donation amount?
No, theymos ever said the donation amount won't change no matter how far bitcoin price changed.
Theymos refers to bitcoin, not dollar.

I agree with your answer being correct; however, I totally disagree with it.

What I feel is a shame is that some listed donation badges are scammers from long ago and they are not removed.  Any new company or legit person trying to get the badge simply can't because of the price of bitcoin.

Example:  In the beginning of donations, I could donate 50btc for a cost of about $500.  There is no chance I would donate $87000 today.
I can understand that it's nice to keep the list relatively short, but to expect 200 times the amount is absurd.  When bitcoin hits $10,000 is it still going to be 50BTC, You know, only $500k to be listed and have the badge.

This blocks everyone from donating.  That said, it also implies that bitcointalk.org is limiting the number of donations it gets.

How many % of the total amount will be distributed in the 5th round of the airdrop?

Depends on the number of bitcoin registered.

Distribution is 0.0625 bytes per bitcoin (and bonus from prior bytes).

So, until the drop, they don't know an exact amount.

Quote from the site is:
"In the 5th round, which is scheduled for the full moon of May (May 10, 2017 at 21:42 UTC), we'll distribute 62.5 MB for each 1 BTC of linked balance and 0.1 new byte for each 1 byte you already hold."
