681  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin really not for everyone? on: August 07, 2023, 09:34:42 PM
I would say Bitcoin welcomes everyone who wants to invest and make use of this as a currency but it doesn't mean that we are forced to do it. That is why there is what we called "not for everyone" because many people are still not convinced about the potential benefit of Bitcoin, they're still doubtful and think that this is a big scam thing. We have the freedom to invest or adapt Bitcoin and it must be for our own good well. In fact, some have tried but they have also quit because of some market misunderstanding and losses.
682  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Coins.ph Official Thread on: August 07, 2023, 01:36:44 PM
It's not safe, as you might be surprised that your account was already closed. Maybe Coins.ph's popularity has gone down as they are making things complicated, as mandated by the regulators. The good thing is, we have Binance P2P where we can easily transact our crypto and receive the funds through GCASH (the most popular).

I have a Coins.ph account, but I'm not using it anymore as sometimes we cannot explain the funds we are getting in crypto, especially if it's connected to gambling sites. Their team could easily trace it and it could result in your account being compromised.
683  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What's the best Altcoin for this moment to accumulate right now? on: August 04, 2023, 06:18:47 AM
I want to find a good Altcoin to invest in before the bull starts, also have a non-custodial exchange. This means, that we have complete control over our funds. If there is, please help convey it, because a lots of new altcoins was born every day.

Accumulation is a good strategy as the current market is in lower side trend. Any investment today could bring good results within next year or two. There are a lot of alts with a good number of promising options. You can't go wrong with the top 20 altcoins, but it would be better to invest in coins with low cap and low price as they can easily go x10 or higher on bull. Even new coins in their early sale with a solid base, team and community could be a good investment in long run.
The price doesn't really matter as long as it was promising. Because before, I keep on hunting for cheap coins and invested a lot but unfortunately, it never works as I expected, it become shitcoins after all. That is why choosing the right coins (have a use case) is very important even if the price is a little bit high because as long as it was active that was our assurance that it will grow in the future. In fact, many of the top 20 altcoins are useless, there are some new projects that are even more profitable than with them.
684  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do exchanges impact the performance of newly listed token? on: August 04, 2023, 05:55:07 AM

Summarily exchanges significantly impact the performance of newly listed tokens, although this may vary in tokens or exchanges.

The impact is huge and that is what I observed. People got more interest in investing in them when they know that it was listed from a prominent exchange. Of course, it was our assurance that the project is also legit. That is why huge exchanges gain more traders and investors for they are into trusting them which results in them succeeding as well. Thinking of the situation these days were more scam projects are flooded in the market, the more consider those projects that are listed on reputable exchanges while ignoring those that are on questionable sites.

NBA news: NBA suspends Spurs' Devonte’ Graham for two games without pay
https://www.nba.com/news/nba-suspends-spurs-devonte-graham
Quote
NEW YORK – San Antonio Spurs guard Devonte’ Graham has been suspended for two games without pay for pleading guilty to a charge of impaired driving, in violation of the law of the State of North Carolina, the NBA announced today.

Graham’s suspension will commence with the next NBA regular season game that he is eligible and able to play.
Bad start. This will be the season he could redeem himself after playing just 20 games last year. Now, he will be gone for 2 games and it's not a good impression. The Spurs will badly need all the help they could get and win as much as they can to get back in the playoffs after missing it for 4 years.

That's just right, he violated a law, and the NBA does condemn that, so he was given a suspension. It's just 2 games, maybe not a good impression, but I believe he can redeem himself as last season he had decent statistics; it's just that he only played a few games. The Spurs are quite hyped for the next season as they landed the number 1 pick, Wemby. So it would be nice if they play with full force to have a good start. However, what happened already happened, and they just have to deal with that. Hopefully, he will learn from this experience.
686  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 - Betting and Discussions on: August 04, 2023, 03:45:35 AM
Look who's playing for Canada, it was Dillon "Dynasty" Brooks for sure Canada needs him to trash talk again for sure, but as a teammate Shai-Gilgeous Alexander, Kelly Olynyk, and Jamal Murray, this could become a power team, because the Scrubb siblings are not slack at all,

His trash talk would not work because this is an international competition, and teams are highly competitive. Players like Luka and the current number 1 pick, Victor Wembanyama, even said that the NBA is less physical compared to their leagues before. So, Brooks should not focus on his trash talk; instead, he should play hard and physical to live up to the expectations of the fans.

The current lineup of Canada has some players who are superstars in the NBA. However, I'm looking at the team chemistry more than the individual players on the team. With that said, I stick with the more consistent teams, particularly Spain (despite less Gasol).
687  Other / Archival / Re: How to manage bitcoin correctly? on: August 03, 2023, 08:45:30 PM
When BTC reached $69000. I didn't choose to sell it. but the current price of Bitcoin dropped to less than $30000. Is it the most reasonable choice to sell BTC now and turn your attention to other investments? I hope to get some good suggestions. Although I have held BTC for many years. I am not good at management.
Perhaps, you are good at holding but not good at making decisions about when to sell them. You have been influenced by someone people talking about hold but this is not mean that we have to hold forever because profit can just be earned if we sell our Bitcoin at a higher price. What I can say/suggest to you is to just continue holding and never make a miss to sell them when the market turns bullish. Many people had missed their chance to sell them on its ATH because of thinking that there is more, if you have that kind of mindset, better to stop and change it otherwise, this will be the reason fo your failure.
688  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Advice for newbies on: August 03, 2023, 08:10:43 PM
To newbies, you must think about the reason why you have entered trading. There should have a goal for coming here, not just because someone introduces this to you or someone shows you money and makes you decide to earn that amount also. Because if youonly have fancy goals like earning this amount xxx, I was certain that you can't reach your goal.

Yes, we have a common goal and that is to earn a profit from trading but as a newbie, our goal first is how to learn and how to engage the market volatility. We have to keep in mind that there is no instant learning in trading, so we can't really think that we can earn a profit instantly.
689  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022–23 PBA Commissioner's Cup on: August 03, 2023, 11:30:08 AM
Have you guys seen this Poypoy Actub play?

I don't know if he is eligible to play in the PBA but if he is then I think many teams will be interested on his service as he excites the fans in the Coliseum, he reminds me of Mr. Excitement Bong Alvarez.

Please see the link below for some of his highlights.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RkbhwqcG1BQ&ab_channel=TopNotchSports

I've been seeing his highlights on TikTok recently, and this guy is a high flyer. He's not afraid to dunk on someone. In the game that I saw, he scored like an NBA player, putting up 31 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists. It kinda reminds me of a prime Westbrook, who could easily go for a double-double.

This is what the PBA needs if they want to make the league more exciting to watch. Currently, the MPBL is already catching up.
690  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Let's make the local more active again! on: August 03, 2023, 11:00:59 AM
Meron namang pending na application si @crwth, sana maaprobahan na yon

That application was back in 2018, but until now, it has not been approved yet. Actually, if I'm not mistaken, our first merit source in the Philippines was cabalism13, who applied on April 26, 2019, and was approved on the same year, I guess. My point here is that I think it's better to have plenty of applications coming from our locals, so Theymos would have more choices.

Two people gave me two merits a few days ago, I am very happy to receive them. I want you guys to help us grow by supporting those who have small IDs like me.

I am doing only Bounty campaign for my Jr member. Unable to do Signature Campaign.

Just keep grinding mate, the key to earn more merits is to be active and make valuable post, that's sometime you need to figure out how to make one.

Like I mentioned, more options are better, no disrespect to crwth as I believe he is also a good forum member.
691  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRON is bad coin, here is why on: August 02, 2023, 09:47:45 PM
If you think that TRON is a scam, then I would say that the SEC is the rid of it but still it never happen which means that there is nothing with the project.
It's up to you if you buy this project or not but if your assumptions are not true, I don't think it will affect the trust of its supporters. Besides, TRON still showing a positive performance and that will implies that everything went well, unlike how these hyped projects are going now. We can just say it was a scam until the SEC find its irregularity but there is no such thing happening, investing in TRON is good.
692  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is AI in crypto a game-changer or just another hype? on: August 02, 2023, 09:29:48 PM
Considering that AI is on its infancy and already created this much hype, usually what kills any hype is that nothing improves. This is also not just about crypto, AI is in everything we do and its an important thing and that's a difference. However, even if we just think about crypto terms, we can say that things like DeFi and NFT and all that they just existed, stayed the same, didn't improve much and lost their hype because of that. Now that we are looking at the situation right now, we could say  that AI will keep on improving and being better, and that is why its not just another hype, its going to be something a lot bigger than what it is today because it will improve for sure.
I agree that AI is better than those projects before and it actually gains more interest knowing that AI is considered one of the used tools these days. I say it was a hype and a game-changer but despite the capability it has, we shouldn't have to be solely reliant on this as is still have some limitations for sure. However, as the development continues and their competition, we can expect better and better AI technology that can be applicable in all areas.
693  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why do 90% of Bettors Lose in Sports Betting in the Long-term? on: August 02, 2023, 03:15:38 AM
Gamblers lose when they bet on things they don't have any knowledge about. Betting on unknown league in sport betting is similar to a non poker player going to play poker. He's going to lose because his counterparts has more knowledge than him and will use that to win.

Exactly, gamblers loose whenever they are gambling by not having experience with the bet or game they play, if we have less idea or information needed enough for them to be able to make use of the gambling opportunity to win, this could in other words mean that most of the results we get while gambling lies on our individual abilities towards what we do and how we bet while gambling, all gambling games have equal risks and same opportunities to either win or loose but it's our own choice to choose either ways to bet.

Remember that the sports betting journey should be treated as a long-term endeavor, and you are right that with less experience, a gambler may lose in the long run. However, if we believe that we will succeed in sports betting, we should consider learning from our experiences because, at the end of the day, what we hope to achieve is consistency.

The problem would only arise if we make mistakes and keep repeating them. That would be unwise and would never result in a positive outcome. Strategies can be developed, and adjustments can be made, but the most crucial aspect is the state of your "mind and emotions." Both should be stable and in sync; otherwise, failure may await in the end.

Sports betting can be profitable for some, but it's not suitable for everyone.
694  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Let's make the local more active again! on: August 02, 2023, 02:45:10 AM
I was browsing other local boards, and I've noticed that some of them are very active. This made me realize that maybe it's time to make our local board more active as well. In my opinion, the best way to achieve that is by having a new merit source. Merits can genuinely entice posters to participate more actively in discussions.

If we analyze the reasons why other locals are more active than us, the main factor seems to be the presence of "merits."

I believe we had a merit source before, but they weren't as active in distributing merits compared to other merit sources (This is my personal observation). Additionally, when their reputation was ruined, they stopped being active in the forum. That was a long time ago, and we haven't had a merits source since, so I think it's about time to have one again. I know there are many active forum members here, so I'd like to suggest that if they don't want to voluntarily apply, we can encourage them by nominating them.

So here's my idea: How about we nominate a forum member here whom we believe would be a good candidate to apply for becoming a merit source?

I will start with by nominating @bisdak40
695  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Really Burn helps Token in positive way? on: August 01, 2023, 09:56:54 PM
Hi,
Some How this Burn Buzz word stuck in my mind and i didn't see practical results so far in any successful token.

For example, Shiba Inu is burning tokens aggressively and is it really helping them?

May be i am noob here and happy to hear from experts!

I believe this topic will be useful for someone too!
It works for some projects but not all that promise an increase in its price went perfectly, many are still low and have no changes. That is why we can't blame people for saying that is not an effective way for changing the view of a particular project because if that is a shitcoin/s, we couldn't really expect such thing as "pump" but what we probably see is that the project will stay low and worthless and investors remain don't have the courage to buy them.

It all lies on the potentiality of the project, not the total market supply. In fact, ETH can prove it.
696  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney on: August 01, 2023, 12:44:08 PM

The present champion, Regis Prograis, has an impressive record as well. Although he is not an undefeated boxer, his KO rate is high—24 out of 29 fights, which is equivalent to an 82.7% KO rate. I hope he will be as quick as Haney so he will be able to hit him and use that high KO rate to his advantage.

You can't beat what you can't hit, and Haney is so good at hitting his opponent without getting hit, after Mayweather he is the best defensive boxer now, and I believe he can beat Prograis even if Prograis has a high knock-out ratio, Haney has beaten a lot of great punchers by his technical skills I don't know who will be the favorite by experts here but this early he is my favorite to win by decision.

Honestly, I don't think he is even close to the skills of Mayweather. Maybe he is also quick, but not as smart as Mayweather. Eventually, he will face a boxer who could exploit his weaknesses, resulting in his first loss. Regis Prograis could be that opponent if he manages to land hits on Haney or if Haney decides to go toe to toe. That might be the only time we see Haney in trouble.

Regis Prograis is a champion who isn't as popular as Haney, so most likely Haney will secure another win here. However, as a fan, it would be nice to see an entertaining fight because that's the only way we, as fans, will be fulfilled.
697  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: July 31, 2023, 01:08:52 PM
They are good but they can still be matched. The Suns last season was fresh and do not have chemistry. They should be better this year with all the talent they have. Giannis was injured in the playoffs. It could have been a different story if he stayed healthy in the post season. The Nuggets are strong but other teams are getting stronger as well. The competition is still very strong.

The Suns were the only team that were able to give good competition to the Nuggets, so I think you have a point that they are going to be even better next season. Although they lost CP3, he wasn't significant enough to the success of the Suns due to injury issues. However, having Bradley Beal on the team takes them to the next level. Let's just hope that the big 3 will be able to stay healthy throughout the season.

Congratulations kabayan, palagi kitang nakikita sa gambling section, particuarly sa gambling discussions board. Marami tayong classmates doon.

Congrats again!
699  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Boxing: Regis Prograis vs Devin Haney on: July 30, 2023, 02:17:01 PM
With this news, it would mean Shakur and Loma have a decent chance of happening. Haney moving up seems to be the right decision; his body structure is capable of battling in the higher weight class, and I really think his chance of winning is high.

After witnessing one of the biggest fights today, we will soon witness Haney trying to challenge Prograis and steal the belt. This is a good move for him, so people will stop talking about the rematch against Loma due to the controversial decision.

Regis Prograis record.
700  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing] Nonito Donaire vs Alejandro Santiago for WBC bantamweight (july15,2023 on: July 30, 2023, 11:30:15 AM

I doubt Donaire will go for another one after this, though it's not uncommon for fighters to retire after their last win. His camp will surely think this through and might even give him options to just let things go and hang his gloves for good. Santiago is not known to be a heavy hitter and his stamina is comparatively weak compared to a veteran Donaire, but I think the latter's age is slowly catching up, and Santiago beat him just by a short margin earning him the decision.

Even if Donaire's wife supports him in his passion, his body and age will surely be something that will not help him in his ventures to get that final win before retirement.

Let's wait for his announcement as eventually, he will be able to think wisely about whether it's time to retire. Just like when Pacman lost to Ugas, when interviewed after the fight, he didn't say that he would retire. However, after months of probably thinking it over, he came to the decision of retiring. Boxing is a sport for young boxers, and if the body cannot cooperate, then there's no reason to stay. Besides, Donaire has already accomplished a lot in boxing; it's time for him to give young boxers the opportunity to achieve the success they are dreaming of.

Donaire's retirement would reduce the number of active Filipino boxers, but it is what it is. Maybe one day, we will see someone like him or even like Pacman who will again bring pride to the country.
