741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 2015 - YOUR ALL GETTING SCAMMED!! on: January 18, 2015, 11:38:57 PM
NxT was the first to be scammin' in 2013 and it continues to this day.  Jeff Garzik, Bitcoin Developer, has said the scams / thefts in NxT are probable inside jobs.  Is there a backdoor switch in Belarus / France / Netherlands?
742  Other / Politics & Society / Re: If The Minimum Wage Doesn't Benefit The Poor Then ?? on: January 17, 2015, 09:11:07 PM
The problem is that more money the employers have to pay the higher and faster inflation builds so its an endless cycle.

There can be many areas which have not had a minimum wage increase in years and yet the cost of living is still increasing.  The real inflation isn't coming from working class people (who otherwise spend all their paycheques on groceries and rent) but fractional reserves in banking.

Stagflation seems to happen regardless..?

eGold will never be surpassed by that alternate Bitcoin..   Cheesy  *sarcasm*

This digital currency stuff is as old as instant messaging (mid-to-late 1990s) but the difference today is Whatsapp is 600 million while Bitcoin is a measly 250K-2M users.
750  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Why is there so much poverty in Brazil? on: December 27, 2014, 09:28:30 AM
I'm not talking about excess, I'm confused over the stifling poverty in what should be a prosperous and resource rich nation.

No country has enough natural resources to sustain a high standard of living for 200 million people.   Australia and Canada have a hard enough time doing it, with a far smaller population, due to the boom-bust cycle where commodities can tank in value or demand can collapse overnight and millions can lose their livelihood as a result.

I don't really see what avenue there is these days for developing an economy.. you can't out manufacture the quantity of East Asia or the quality of Europe...   There might be a lot of money in tech but tech is very efficient where all the demand for software and products are already being mostly met by a few tech companies based out of California and other tech hubs in the United States.

As previously mentioned Bitcoin's usage is not very wide spread.   We have estimations from banking writers like Jeffrey Robinson who claim there is only as little as 250,000 people using Bitcoin.  To put into perspective, to again reference something Robinson had said, there is more people with club membership at Air Arabia Airlines than people holding Bitcoin in this world.    Even on the higher side of estimations, being 2 million Bitcoiners, there were more people using the internet in the late 1980s than this higher estimation.  It was a regular lie last year when all the hypers and pump and dumpers were claiming this was like the internet in the 1990s (not even remotely close)

Since the numbers are so low it's quite certain, unless Bitcoin beats some other coin to the punch, that somebody will come along and figure out how to achieve exponential user adoption and it won't take 6 years to surpass Bitcoin  - you can get more than 250,000 people in mere weeks to use something if it goes viral and it is considered cool.

756  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Ripple price going mad right now? on: December 19, 2014, 05:39:43 PM
I dont like Ripple, seriously you dont own your private key and your funds can be locked by them, it ridiculous perversion of the Bitcoin ideals.

XRP can't be locked?

They (Ripple) can lock your account pretty much like paypal;

I am not sure about that. Can anyone confirm?

757  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is ripple going to the moon ? on: December 19, 2014, 04:11:32 AM
what if ripple labs and the stellar foundation are talking and are planning on working together...?  ripple could handle the banks while stellar handles the consumers.

would it be possible to do something like cross chaining between the two networks? they are basically the same.

Based on what we learned from a former board member, Jed threw a tantrum after Chris and other board members blocked his financing proposal that could've potentially made him a lot of money. How did Jed react? By leaving Ripple and announcing the imminent sales of his premine which tanked the market. After that, Jed and his girlfriend created Stellar, a cousin of Ripple.

Jed is freaking smart, but he is greedy and his two centralized tokens lack any social ideology. It is a vehicle designed to make him an enormous amount of money
. Whether investors will buy in to his scheme remains to be seen, but Stellar and Ripple will not work together as long as the existing boards of either organizations remain.

LMFAO @ this.  No different then Ripple then.

Once either gets too big they will get raided by the US government and then get shut down.  Centralization doesn't look too good from the interior of a jail cell.

Ripple can't be banned you fudster  Roll Eyes

What if it's just another altcoin pump and dump

Chinese banks already adopted Ripple. This looks legit.

 Cool

pepper your anus

Really? What does that mean, adopt Ripple?
i never heard of Chinese banks already adopted Ripple.

Misinformation and hype.  This is typical of every pump and dump.  The "banks" Ripple is working with is largely only Fidor and Fidor's is embracing all crypto currencies and it's by no means a large bank (not even medium sized).  The rest of the 'banks' are just people having free discussions or eating banker's lunches.  Definitely nobody would even dare to convert their entire banks' system onto Ripple (not even 1% of their system).

As well who needs Ripple when Ripple can be forked and copied as per Stellar example?  Cheaper for the banks to create their own Ripple and cut the middle man out.  There's plenty of Ripple employees who are probably disgruntled to be making only $80K a year, while the boss is buying new Lamborghinis, and will work on any Ripple fork for a slight pay increase.

Putting a few people behind bars kills Ripple. That what happens with a highly centralized coin.
Keep buying now if you like losing money.

eGold was shut down for less than people assume.  The FBI will raid and shut down anything in the United States if it gets too big.  The reason Ripple hasn't caught any attention yet is because it's still small shrimp.  eGold at its' peak was handling $8 billion volume versus Ripple's $1.3 billion if the current volume were to hold for 365 days (previously Ripple was doing far less volume).  All you need are allegations that Ripple is involved with drugs or pedophilia and it will be shut down.

This is true - put a few people behind bars and seize all the computers and Ripple would die - true some parts of Ripple are decentralized but its' ghost town community wouldn't be able to fill the void from its' leadership and staff being put behind bars and its' office being shut down and the computers put into an evidence depot.

i heard NEM will be released Q4 2018  Smiley

Chairman Nguyen has listened to the NEMoletariat.  The developers are clearly Blockchain Reactionaries who are sabotaging the people's NEMolution!  They are being dragged out as we speak and are being sent to NEMberia for reNEMucation.  Now NEM is being developed by 30 Indians in a boiler room sweat shop operation.   Nobody said the NEMolution would be easy or clean and we have all made sacrifices to attain this people's crypto paradise. . . .
