741  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why Altcoins are traded with Bitcoin or Ether and not with fiat directly? on: August 25, 2017, 07:27:05 AM
Because we trust bitcoin and ether and not altcoins. Bitcoin and ether serves as store of value. If ever there will be an alt than can gain trust and support as bitcoin, then maybe that alt can serve as a store of value as well. But right now, it is just this 2.
742  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can Bitcoin Still Go Up? on: August 24, 2017, 06:31:48 PM
Bitcoin just keeps growing and having higher price each year. There is no question if the price will go up, it will. Improvements are being made and bitcoin have segwit now. As long as the community have strong support, bitcoin will continue to rise.
743  Economy / Economics / Re: Governments and banks are using you on: August 24, 2017, 06:19:24 PM
Banks and government can create their own cryptocurrency, and it will still be considered an alt. After creating their crypto, what will they do with their fiat? Will they discard it as well? Government will not let go of centralization even if they create their own crypto. That is the greatest advantage of bitcoin against them.
744  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: August 24, 2017, 05:47:00 PM
We may see the preview of Eastern Finals since Celtics and Cavs will meet on Opening night. This will be an exciting game to watch. We will see how Kyrie will lead the celtics against his previous teammates.
745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DO YOU AGREE? on: August 24, 2017, 05:08:14 PM
I do not believe in this predictions but I do like them to come true. Who would not want a 100K $ bitcoin? But if I am going to be realistic, any price above 20K is already too much.
746  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Dividing your salary. on: August 24, 2017, 04:39:08 PM
If you consider bitcoin as an investment, then you should allot 10% or more of your salary into it. You should allot first for your investment, then the rest of the money for your immediate needs and other expenses. Investment should always be the priority in order to have a better financial status in the future.
747  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Noob question on: August 24, 2017, 03:21:58 PM
Value of cryptocurrencies go up and down every few hours, so if price today is 10$ and tomorrow 11$ can I just buy today and instantly sell tomorrow for 11$? That seems way too simple... Could you link me to or explain here how dose all this work?

What are you going to do if it goes to $9 tomorrow instead?

Of course you will have to hold it for the time being. Since the price is fluctuating, it can easily be 12$ the next day. All he is asking is if it is viable and it is. He can sell his bitcoin anytime he have profit however small it is. And he can buy again when the price falls. The hard thing is timing it. The price may not go down after he sells his bitcoin or may not go up after he bought.
748  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wallet getting blocked? on: August 24, 2017, 12:54:46 PM
It depends what is the blocked means in your question. To my understanding it is possible that your wallet is blocked because you violated a certain rule. Like one of my wallet provider rules is not to engage your wallet in gambling, ransom, scamming or any illegal activities. That alone is a possibility of blocking your wallet.

This only happens to online wallet and exchange wallets. It is owned by a third party so they can block your access to it. But if you are holding your private keys, they cannot block your access. You can easily import your bitcoins to another wallet if you do not have access to your current wallet.
749  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How many people left their full-time employment to go into Bitcoin? on: August 24, 2017, 12:51:16 PM
Those who leave their full time job to venture to bitcoin are taking risks. They know that this is a volatile market but they still went for it meaning they truly trust the system and that they be better off going full time on bitcoin. But not everyone can take this risk, you can do both anyway.
750  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price of 1 Satoshi rise to $1? on: August 24, 2017, 12:29:02 PM
I think a Satoshi being worth $1 is ridiculous. 1 BTC would be worth 100 million dollars! That is pure wishful thinking and isn't practical. Someone with 2,000 BTC would be way richer than Bill Gates is right now.

Yes totaly agree with you i dont think so that bitcoin could reach 1 sat to 1$ just imagine bitcoin is 8 decimal so if you count it 1 bitcoin is worth 100 million x 21 million its too much moeny and it will lower the value of dollar remember that more money you produced the lower the value of this

1 sat = 1 USD is not gonna happen ever. Sorry to say so, but there really is not enough money in the world to pump the bitcoin price to such an enourmous number.

it would give bitcoin a market cap at 2100.000.000.000.000 USD
that is 2100 TRILLION USD
right now market cap is 0.05 TRILLION USD

Eh, it will just mean that the value of the coin in circulation will be around 3 times the world GDP Smiley).
Or two times if we consider the growth ad the time BTC will have to get there but I think it is impossible, at least in our lifetime.

Also it would mean for bitcoin to be used for everything replacing all fiat, investments and gold as a store of value.
And this without other cryptos taking a piece of the cake.

Even so, it will still not reach that much. How can it be pumped that much if no one can avail it already? 100K is too much but still reasonable. Elites can still purchase it. But 100M a piece, that is just insane speculation.
751  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: At what price point per BTC will it be too late for the average person on: August 24, 2017, 12:13:56 AM
We can say we ate still early adopters because bitcoin is still very young and there is still a lot of space for growth development and price wise. Like others said, there is nothing wrong in purchasing bitcoin in small amount until you got a whole one.
752  Economy / Economics / Re: When Bitcoin will be taxed, will it still be as in demand as it right now? on: August 23, 2017, 07:49:00 PM
Tax or no tax, bitcoin will still be popular and in demand. It is not the main features of bitcoin. And if ever, it will be hard for the government to track which one is not paying their bitcoin tax.
753  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price BTC after 23 August? on: August 23, 2017, 06:41:02 PM
Many predict today's date and so on, and ultimately bitcoin prices remain stable, and can not be separated from the $ 4000 price tag.
I think, bitcoin prices will continue to increase in early September next month.
The price has begun to move forward crossing $4200, maybe this time the price crosses $4500 as the growth gas begun from the price less than $4000. Use any consideration of the time period the growth is taking Place. Hope the same continues for a longer time period without much of deviations or drastic drops.

I doubt it will cross a new ATH anytime soon. Maybe it will on November after the hard fork. There is no significant events happening now that can push the price above 4500$. I think it will play between 4000 and 4400 in the coming months until it push again on November.
754  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What makes you trust a new cryptocurrency? on: August 23, 2017, 06:23:57 PM
I would look into the developers as well and if the project that they are developing is something new and not just a copy of something that already exist. It should be something that will actually solve something.
755  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2016/17 NBA Season on: August 23, 2017, 03:29:05 PM
Kyrie can now build his own legacy. He can show his leadership and skills in boston away from the shadow of Lebron. It will be exciting to watch Eastern Finals since the most probable teams for finals will be boston and cavs.
756  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: August 23, 2017, 03:12:45 PM
snip
I don't think you can call harvesting profitable, there are still too few transactions to give harvesting that attribute.
Supernodes on the other hand are profitable for sure but you need a lot of xem to join the program.

If you get a block a week, I say it is profitable. You do not spend any except having xem on your wallet. Your xem appreciates in value over time and is also harvesting which gives you more xem. It is slow, but you can still profit.
757  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What services you wanna see with Bitcoin ? on: August 23, 2017, 03:02:40 PM
Bitcoin is a currency then all I wanted is that bitcoin can be used to pay for anything. I hope  it can be used for micropayment with very low fees in the future. If it can be done, then any market can be captured by bitcoin.
758  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to choose good ICO? on: August 23, 2017, 02:36:23 PM
Help please, what are the most important things to look before investing in ICO.
please DON'T send recommendation and DON'T promote your ICO just share your knowledge and experience.
what will be the top 3 points to look at?

Thanks

You just have to know the project if it is worth your money. You can do this by reading the whitepaper and ANN and joining their slack channel so you can see what is happening on the project. Does it have a good devs or nice road map? Just getting in there and interacting with the devs, you can see if it will be a successful ICO or not.
759  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you keep buying? on: August 23, 2017, 02:03:40 PM
Bitcoin price keeps increasing. Price is x10 considering last year. Even 25k-50k-100k is predicted.

Are you adding more bitcoin by buying with cash? or you trade or invest in ICOs & altcoins in order to increase the amount you have?

or do you just hold what you have?

The only way I can have bitcoin is by earning it, I cannot buy bitcoin. But I keep on earning it so that I have something to hodl. I do not believe that the price will reach 25k or 100K but even a 10K amount per bitcoin is pretty much once I earn enough bitcoin. I do not want to risk my stash on ICO but trading will work for me.
760  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happen to bitcoin fees continues increased.? on: August 23, 2017, 01:32:01 PM
It is really a pain now that some miners transferred to BCH resulting to long confirmation time and high fees. But it is not forever that they will mine on bch, soon they will realize bitcoin is still way better than BCH and more profitable in the long run.
