Samsung is moving its factories from China to Vietnam.

Companies are moving factories to countries where workforce is cheaper. It is that way fro over 50 years. But now with this pandemics this move will slow down, since countries realised they need to produce at least some essential things fully at home. Robotic will drastically hep with this.
762  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: October 01, 2020, 06:28:44 PM
I remember one resistance/support was around 0.0115 and other around 0.017. I clearly remember saying that any Monero below 0.017 btc is a undervalued Monero Smiley   Anyway around 0.0115 will be our next target. If somehow, with BitMex drama, breaks it we will go fast to not super cheap Monero range anymore.
763  Economy / Speculation / Re: US economy won’t be charging upwards like we had hoped for on: October 01, 2020, 05:40:38 PM
It’s also pertinent to note that it’ll the first time, that the economy will be shrinking since the Great Recession.

4% will be almost double of 2008 recession and the 2008 recession was the biggest one since 1961. Probably ( i dont have the exact numbers) only behind 1946 and 1932 recession.
764  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: CFTC Charges BitMEX on: October 01, 2020, 05:15:11 PM
CFTC Charges BitMEX Owners with Illegally Operating a Cryptocurrency Derivatives Trading Platform and Anti-Money Laundering Violations.
Among those charged are company owners Arthur Hayes, Ben Delo, and Samuel Reed, who operate BitMEX’s platform through a maze of corporate entities.

Bankers never go to jail. They will hire good lawyers and after 5 years paid few millions penalty and that would be it. Just another day for bankers in the office.

Good question from reddit.

Which breaks their June 2019 peak first?

Monero at $120 Bitcoin at $13800
766  Economy / Economics / Re: Pandemic pushed the US into recession- now official , analysis on: September 29, 2020, 05:43:48 PM
I am not surprised. The total number of deaths from the COVID 19 pandemic has crossed the 1 million mark, and out of that more than one-fifth has been from the United States. In some of the countries (such as the United Kingdom and France), the peak stage is over and the number of new deaths are less than one-tenth of what they had during the peak phase. But in the US, the peak is not yet over. And in such a situation, it will be difficult to say when the economic recovery would start.

The peak is not over since second wave is expected this winter. There should be 3rd wave end of next year but will be most likely curt by vaccine. What is problematic is that some countries although they tried could not do anything against first wave.
767  Economy / Economics / Re: Rise in US unemployment. Thoughts? on: September 29, 2020, 01:05:03 PM
There simply cant be same employment as before when virus is still circling in population. China that tackled virus in 3 months was able to get back fast and had fast recovery. Other countries that failed at tacking covid-19 will just have to wait for vaccine. Hopefully will be here a year from now if not we will see huge unemployment then.
768  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Sets Record 63 Straight Days Closing Above $10,000 on: September 29, 2020, 11:46:05 AM
65 days now. We are about a week away to have more days over $10000 then last year. I dont see possible to not break that- This shows strong trend.  Next year days with sub $10000 will be very rare if it will existed at all.
769  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Where to trade gold? on: September 29, 2020, 11:25:20 AM
Where to trade gold?

You can buy gold with Bitcoin and many altcoins at https://www.bitgild.com/   They are located in Netherlands, so you should have zero problems if you are from EU. Make sure o ask them abut delivery if you live elsewhere. They sell for Bitcoin for more then 6 years.  There are many other gold merchants selling for Bitcoin.

771  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Trump Paid Just $750 taxes in 2016 and 2017 ! on: September 28, 2020, 07:09:52 PM
Well Trump definitely is not the richest person in the USA - there are too many people that are richer than him but yes while others are afraid to play the system to benefit themselves against the IRS, Trump seems to be wriggling out of everything except making token tax return payments of $750 per year.

Others are not politicians. Politicians are fair and honest. Since they make laws, they should not abuse them. It is very similar as if we would elect pope who would be an atheist.  We can do it, but would have little sense to do it.
772  Economy / Speculation / Re: New and important analysis of bitcoin on: September 28, 2020, 05:35:30 PM
You forgot to mention that Bitcoin stayed above $10000 fro straight 64 days. That never happened before. In 2017 it was above $10000 for 62 days in a row.  Last year Bitcoin went 4 times over $10000 and back under. If we add all those days together we get 77 days.  This year we had 5 days in February and 64 now so 69 days. It is obvious Bitcoin will stay above $10000 for 8 more days. This shows a solid trend.
773  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The IRS offers reward to anyone able to break Monero and the LN on: September 28, 2020, 05:08:05 PM
During that phase there were big bust in the dark market space and i am not sure whether these flaws were a major factor or the site admins were identified and pinpointed through other means.

No one used Monero on darkmarkets in 2014 and 2015 and very rare in 2016. Even today Bitcoin is most used cryptocurrency on darkmarkets. What Monero provide was known to everyone that wanted to listen and read. Al that was pointed out in 2014 and made plans how to tackle that.  Since all Monero development is voluntary you cant develop things immediately, but it took years.  Luckily Monero development was lead by smart people and they realised what are priorities. Not the GUI that was already started working on in mid 2014 and then set on pause.  Monero ledger was most opaque of all cryptocurrency ledgers in 2014 and 2015 and 2016 as it is today. There is no real competitor.

As the OP mention LN. IRS will easily monitor transactions on LN. LN and Monero are very different things when we talk about achieving anonymity.
774  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 27, 2020, 06:19:54 PM
11 days above 0.008 btc. that is new longest streak this year.  It is also time for new YTH that is at 0.0095.  It was about time. A lot of coins already made new YTH after March crash.  Bitcoin and Ethereum both did it in July. Monero is harder to move.
775  Economy / Speculation / Re: The reason bitcoin price is not stable. on: September 27, 2020, 05:41:39 PM
Can someone explain categorically while the price of cryptocurrencies especially bitcoin is not constant, because I begin to wonder the reasons behind the secret of bitcoin falling and raising.
How can someone study bitcoin to the extent to know when bitcoin is about to fall and when is about to raise so that the level of lost can reduce.

Bitcoin price is volatile because Bitcoin is only 10 years old. Price is getting less volatile over time. In the past 10% daily price changes were often, right now are the exceptions.
If you are a trader you can predict future Bitcoin prices the same way as fro any other asset. There are million theories. They teach them in schools. You can find them on internet.
But trading will not grantee you profit. What guarantee you profit is buy and hold. Because Bitcoin price will for sure be higher 10 years form now as it is now. Ideal way to buy is a tiny bit every month. Buy as much as you can afford to forget about it for 10 years. Buy $100 a month or $50 or $10.
776  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Less Volatile Coins on: September 27, 2020, 04:46:20 PM
I am a newbie on this forum and I have read my posts that people complaining how they lost their fund as a result of investing on Volatile coin like BTC. Is it now advisable for newbie like me to invest on less Volatile coin like Tether or Gemini USD.

Stable coins are not cryptocurrencies. They are just coins that are backed by fiat money. USD, EUR or whatever. They will always be worth 1 unit of fiat they are backed by. Cryptocurrencies are volatile compared to other asset. Bitcoin and Monero are least volatile of all. Why? Because thy have use case and are also used beside just being speculated with.
777  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: September 27, 2020, 04:21:20 PM
The most magnificent is Göbekli Tepe in Turkey. Not because of what they built, but because of when it was built. 11000 years ago, so in Neolithic and all was built with stone tools. Worth for everyone to google it and check.
778  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Exchange KuCoin and KuCoin shares on: September 27, 2020, 03:47:40 PM
They need to rebuy all coins that were stolen. Worst thing that can happen is that they wait and bull run start and coins that were stolen make x10 pimps and then a $157 loss with turn into $1.5 billion loss. This is what sunk Mt.Gox. They ignored the problems they had.

Its a must thing but they had already spoken that they would patch up all of those losses but I doubt that they will considering on following or rebuying those lost coins that they had.
Im not that aware on Mt.Gox problem but since you do mentioned it then they should really need to avoid it.

If they will just ignore and not buy this coins that left their wallets, then in next bullrun their loss will be so huge that no profit from tradings can ever repay it. Then at some point people that will have stored ANY coins ( not only the ones that was stolen) on Kucoin will simple end up empty handed.  Even $150 million is a lot of money. They must act immediately and take a loan somewhere and rebuy all coins that was lost.
779  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people claim cryptocurrencies aren’t an asset? on: September 26, 2020, 04:42:31 PM
Why do people claim cryptocurrencies aren’t an asset?

It does not really matter what people are saying. It matters what government is saying. Bitcoin will work as it works no matter what will be. Difference is how it is taxed. That is what concerns governments. So they interpret Bitcoin to gain most taxes. Some governments are long other short sighted. Shortsighted will cal bitcoin as asset and tax it. Smart governments will ca Bitcoin a money and not tax it, but gain more on long term since economy around Bitcoin will develop faster and stronger.
