781  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does positive thinking affect your edge in gambling on: April 16, 2018, 05:29:09 AM
Positive thinking gives you an edge every time a person is gambling. Base on my experience, every time that you have doubts on your card, no matter how strong it is, you will end up losing the game because you are not confident. Especially in the game of poker, the other player will definitely feel that you are bluffing if you're not confident. You are also willing to take the risk if you are thinking positive, the more you try, the more chances of winning.

Do you mean pretending? I think it's what you mean, and not about "positive thinking".In card games, it's what you do most of the time, you hide the expressions in your face so your opponents cannot see your tactics.

I still believe that positive thinking has no effect in winning or losing. It could make you feel comfortable but won't add any "mojo" to your game.
That is pretenses indeed or trying to stay away from the idea that you can actually end up losing all which most people always end up doing in gambling anyway if not all  Grin.

The way some people have taken gambling and believing they can just find a way to get on the better side of winning is amazing and at the same time preposterous. We call it gambling, and it is all about luck and I wonder why some would just want to screw themselves with some bullshit mentality of winning because they could think positively.
782  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What do you think about new Bittrex platform? on: April 16, 2018, 04:01:36 AM
I like the changes. And today, seeing the bittrex interface change I am very interested in them. But it also has a lot of drawbacks. That's the dark interface that I can not see the numbers clearly.
The dark interface was actually my first problem with it and on switching to light, only the chart got changed. I like the fact that they were able to come up with ease in usability a little bit compared to the first one since I can easily switch in between trades quickly, but at the same time, the user interface is just way off. I guess they tried to overdo it and that actually failed.

Nevertheless, it is good for a change, probably after getting used to it a little bit and if they can gradually change some things, it would be a lot better.
783  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Mistakes when trade coin on: April 16, 2018, 03:21:02 AM
The worst mistake that a bitcoin trader is the lack of knowledge and out of greedy for unjust gain they are loosing their investment just before they got some more profits. To avoid such mistake it is advised that one should gain knowledge before going into trading.
Yes. Lack of knowledge ushers in a lot of emotion when you are trading. It makes it seem more like gambling because it is only based on your perception or what you feel and not what you are seeing in the market based on the charts and indicators which are basically there to help you make decisions in the market. Trading is a huge profession that requires a lot of attention and not being fully equipped with all the knowledge is usually more like going to war without tools.
784  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: day trading for quick profit on: April 15, 2018, 06:55:27 PM
When I have started learning Crypto, I was reading hodl advice all over the place and adopting. Luckily I have sold Eth despite of that two months ago and avoided a huge crash. I could now buy at least three times more Eth for the same price. And two to three times more btc.
Trading requires lot of time, devotion and concentration. It is a great thing to learn but needs to be played very carefully, and with no greed.
Okay, it is good you got lucky and sold, but from the look of things, you either did not sell because you saw the crash coming or you used some indicators to make those decisions, but you just sold at the peak, got lucky and now you are looking forward to buying more.

However, this is what I want you to understand, you may be lucky now but that does not mean you will get lucky tomorrow. It pays to trade, but you will be in an emotional state and a gambling state, if you are actually doing it without knowledge and strategy.
785  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Advantage of BITCOIN on: April 15, 2018, 06:04:34 PM
Bitcoin changed the concept of money transfer, decentralization shows that the system can work autonomously and without supervisory organs. It is a model of the financial system of the future.
The idea of money transfer is one thing that blockchain technology has brought with bitcoin being in the main front of it all. What led me to start using bitcoin was all in need to transfer without the banks involved and it was like a dream come true. Being into importation business, it has really helped so much in paying merchants all over the world and luckily for me, they are all bitcoin enthusiasts because it was even through one of them I got into this space today. This is the great benefit that bitcoin has brought.
786  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What are your plans with your Altcoin? on: April 15, 2018, 04:00:24 PM
I have been holding most of my altcoins for a while now and since I have gained so much from them, I usually do not bother. I sold some at their peak anyway and I have bought more back during the dip. I believe this is just more like the idea of stocks in the future anyway and that is more like what the altcoin market is going to be like.

We cannot rule out the fact that we are really here to get rich, unless we just want to lie to ourselves.
787  Economy / Speculation / Re: New pump? on: April 15, 2018, 02:57:09 PM
What do you think about yesterday’s pump? Bitcoin grew from 6750 to 8000$ in a few minutes. That’s incredible! Do you think it is a new pump and soon bitcoin will cost 20000$ again?
I guess it is already obvious that no one can actually know anything anymore, it is bitcoin and the market has been fashioned in a way where things can just change at any point in time. One time, you are expecting this based on technical analysis, and the next thing the market is doing absolutely something else. Although, it was really good to get to see some action in the market a little bit after some seriously boring moments we have had for some time now.
788  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin going strong on: April 15, 2018, 11:22:50 AM
the price has tanked a lot in the 6500-7000 range , so most likely it's a good bottom support and now the price started to move but maybe it will be back to the previous range again
in general the current price is a great buy if you have patience and believe a little in bitcoin , but otherwise if you care too much about the USD value then you need to have extra plans cause who knows maybe will see a 5K bitcoin again
It is actually good to see the market move up slightly and broke some few resistances before hitting the huge one. Still, I am still not convinced yet until I am fully convinced since we have gotten to see some bounce before which ended up resulting backwards and lower.

Hopefully, bottom was already experienced and this is the last of this region we are going to be seeing, otherwise anything that would make us drop from here, we are sure going to be hitting lower than what we had in last down trend. I guess the second half of April may bring more joys.
789  Economy / Economics / Re: Bank of America to store data on the blockchain on: April 14, 2018, 04:31:36 PM
The banks are like the proverbial Ghanian bird, Chichidodo. The sight of faeces disgusts it but it feeds on fly maggots. That's the Chichidodo. The banks from the onset ran a smear campaign against the blockchain because of what they stood to lose if it thrives. Not because the blockchain isn't right. Now the banks are forced by the reality on ground to come to terms with the blockchain tech. This news is a plus sign.
Unfortunately for them, they lost that fight because the more they kept doing that, the more they keep exposing all their crazy acts right from the past as to how they have been screwing up everything. Like you said, it is now becoming a reality and they just have to accept it. It is more to me like an evolution, and there is just usually one way to that, which is accepting the changes and adapting to it. It is really about time they started realizing it is something they could not have been able to run away from in the first place.
790  Economy / Economics / Re: technical or fundamental ? on: April 14, 2018, 03:53:16 PM
BTCbitcoin prices moving due to  technical analysis or fundamental analysis???!!!!!BTC

It seems to me it moves on news, hype, and sentiment. News tends to move the price quite a bit. People are then in FOMO mode and they panic sell or buy, depending on the news
Apparently, sentiments, news and all that are most of the things that drives a market but you cannot just rely on them alone.

Yes, you may want to use it to make some decisions in the market pretty quickly and combine what is going on with how the market is responding to make your decision, but as a full blown trader, there is just no way you would not need technical analysis in making your decisions.

I have been trading and most times, I have always used technical analysis. Technical analysis is mainly good to know how the trend is about to change with the movements on the chart and then make your decisions with that, but fundamental is what actually drives the market most of the time.
791  Economy / Economics / Re: What do you prefer Bitcoin or Ethereum ? on: April 14, 2018, 03:21:44 PM
I was wondering which one was your favorite out of the two cryptocurrencies? I think Ethereum has proved to be more flexible than Bitcoin even though Bitcoin is making the biggest noise
I really do not understand what you are trying to infer by bitcoin making noise, because it is the legacy coin or because the whole market is driven by its movement, or because it is still the man of the match

There is just one thing we cannot rule out even with all the sentiments, bitcoin will always have an edge over every other altcoins whether we like it or not. Let's live that aside, Ethereum is a good project that has given birth to a lot of tokens, but I still prefer a deflationary coin any day anytime to an inflationary one.
792  Economy / Speculation / Re: BITCOIN BACK AS THAT WAS on: April 14, 2018, 12:28:25 PM
there are so many possible thing that will happen in bitcoin if it is in that price.. not all people will understand what happen to bitcoin why price is decreased for sure there are so many people too that will panic sell their btc's but i am hoping for the recovery of bitcoin.
There is actually no doubt that bitcoin is going to be recovering, as that one is definite. However, the fact is that no one knows when this recovery may occur and usually after a dip, there would always come a time for consolidation which most investors always use to accumulate and as long as the fundamental in the market favors a bull run after then, we will always get to see the market back to that previous shape. However, no one should be expecting such a thing to happen just all of a sudden as it requires some patience to see your investment back. Best is to just take advantage of the dip to accumulate.
793  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What are you doing with your Cryptos?? Holding / Selling / Buying more? on: April 14, 2018, 11:18:56 AM
Had a good run over the past few months so managed to settle all my initial investment to break even. Everything now is profit so no risk of holding however I do scrape off some profits here and there into more stable crypto like Eth.
Well, for someone who may have been able to take advantage of the market fluctuation based on their idea about trading, this is something that can easily be done. Not all of us had the leisure of selling at the peak, but at some point during the downtrend, rather than just watching and holding, we were able to make use of it to get something good, but it is all based on knowledge and since not everyone have this knowledge, it is always better to just hold and wait it out.

doing everything, perspective projects are holding , also ETH are holding, cause now it have low price! now market is down thats why I am holding everything
How you are managing to do everything ? I just wonder. Holding and buying more is possible for anyone but selling and holding a same coin must make a person into trader. Only for active traders may buying more and selling is possible still holding is not an agenda of traders.
794  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What do you choose between wallet or exchange ? on: April 14, 2018, 10:03:49 AM
I personally do not like to keep coin on exchange, this is an unregulated market so no exchanges can give you guarantees or any refunds in case of hacker attacks. installing a wallet takes very little time and if you do not have an infected computer, you have a very good security. obviously some small amount for "dayly trading" is right to keep it in the exchange. the past is full of exchanges that have escaped with customers' money
No one definitely likes it except for some novice investors who may not have an idea on staying safe or go through the stress of opening multiple wallets for different coins except for tokens that can be on ETH wallet for those ones built on the Ethereum blockchain anyway.

As much as it is easy to hold on exchanges as much as you want, it is highly unsecured knowing you have no control of your asset and that alone can make you lose everything.
795  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I have $150 Ethereum. How can I grow/increase this amount? on: April 14, 2018, 08:18:19 AM
If you want to grow you can try by day trading ethereum or buying other altcoins and sell them for more eth than you originally bought them for.
I wouldn't try out ico's yet (initial coin offerings), especially if you only have 170 and are new to the field.
Day trading involves a lot and for someone who does not even have any idea of trading, I would not consider day trading at all. The thing here is that trading is a very good way to increase what you have, but it is better by trying short term or long term trading, to know how to make use of some of the indicators in a higher time frame, than trying to trade a very short time frame that requires some expertise.

Personally I am not trying day trading now a days as in my previous attempts I lost big coins at the same time, holding and position based trading strategies are giving me nice profits.
796  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling: Culture on: April 13, 2018, 09:56:18 AM
Well the regulations are mostly for the minors and how the gambling sites and casinos pay their taxes. There can't be any regulation about how much anyone can gamble and how much they can spend. People can break their banks and go on debt. And that has been the case for the longest time so i don't think there can or will be something done about it
There are some countries who certainly do not take gambling as something that is reasonable for anyone to do and hence the strict law against gambling which apparently makes it entirely impossible for anyone to be a part of. However, this does not mean that even at that, some people still do not find a way to gamble once in a while and stay out of the government radar.

The culture though is dependent on how people generally within the society perceive gambling. We cannot expect anything beyond that, I mean gambling for only fun and stopping at right time are the things which may not be covered in most of the traditions as they do gamble for their own reasons and it is individual's responsibility to protect themselves.
797  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: When do you know its time to Stop? on: April 13, 2018, 09:05:42 AM
It's time to stop when you've been gambling for more than 12 hours. Your mind wouldn't be in the right state because of stress and hunger so just put a time limit every time you play.
12 hours sounds very unrealistic to me. Who can gamble for that long without having a break and how can someone have that much money too? Gambling for 12 hours mean to be a boy of some billionaire. Also, this is the worst way of killing spare time. The right time to stop gambling is when the limited amount is lost. Gambling can prove to be fatal if someone continues playing it.
Timing yourself in gambling is even total bullshit. Within that 12 hours or even less, I am sure any greedy fellow would have ended up losing everything. How on earth would someone even spend up to that time gambling when it is not like there is nothing else they are doing with their life? Asides that though, and like you have mentioned to him, it is best you just limit your pocket than the time, because one thing with gambling is that time goes without you even knowing, most especially in casinos.
798  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is Fortune Jack a Scam or are they Legit? on: April 13, 2018, 08:12:46 AM
STAY AWAY - They won't allow you to withdraw until you have WAGERED 5X YOUR DEPOSIT. This has nothing to do with bonuses either and you can't play dice to cover withdrawal requirements. BET ELSEWHERE.
Are you just trolling or you have really gambled on FJ before. FJ has always been a legitimate gambling site that pays well and not paying 5x your deposit is totally absurd claim which I am pretty sure you will not be able to get any proof as I have been using this platform and I have never had any issue with withdrawal before of that sort. You can't play dice to cover withdrawal requirement? What are you even saying ?
799  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Looking for a better exchange: Bittrex and Poloniex? on: April 13, 2018, 05:54:26 AM
Start to trade on many partially decentralized exchange and if you don't know how to do it,  check YouTube videos for guidance.  Decentralized exchange is said to be future of trading.  Start using it now.
Sure, decentralized exchange is the future but the truth is we are not even close to it or there yet. It would change a lot of things though, but most people one way or the other would still find centralized exchanges to be a better spot for exchanging with respect to fees and some other few things.

I have been reading some news with binance starting some sort of decentralized exchange and I am seeing how this is going to play out as we move forward.
800  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I'm afraid to create my own ICO on: April 13, 2018, 03:59:27 AM
Before creating your ICO work on the project on what exactly will be your aim. What purpose will your coin have and what issues it might solve which will ultimately attract more investors towards your project. So what you can do is work on the goal of the project and also help the developers as an adviser.
Learning developing is an option too that would require a lot of patience and interest but enter just for the purpose of making more money without the required knowledge is a bad idea.
Yes, which I am sure the OP does not even sound like someone with an aim or vision, let alone an idea. His only mission right now is to make money from creating an ICO since bounties look too small for him and that mentality is the main reason why we have a lot of shitcoins in the market today.

It is important to always come up with an enticing and usable product and that is the only way to get real investors these days and it is good the OP is already afraid of even starting and he needs to realize what he is up to first.
