801  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is BitcoinCash a joke? on: August 18, 2017, 04:43:44 PM
It sure sounds like a joke "Bitcoin Cash" Grin Cheesy

If you see how many people supporting it and pumping it on every exchange then you will get to know that it is not a joke. If you havent claimed your BCC then it is the right time to do it. We will have to see what is the future for this coin.

and even if it is a joke but since it is pumping and profitable, it will be a very profitable joke. Actually, it is good that we have bch because we really can see which is better, large blocks or segwit.
802  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: So correction is coming? on: August 18, 2017, 04:12:26 PM
~snip~
BUT: weekend is coming, this is an appropriate time for a big correction.

I do not see any connection between bitcoin correction and weekend. Bitcoin trading does not close on any exchanges and on any date. It is always open. It can be corrected on any day of the week. The trend still remains for the past few days, support for 4000$ and resistance for 4400$.

803  Economy / Economics / Re: BCC more profitable to mine on: August 18, 2017, 03:59:25 PM
Maybe for now while the difficulty is low but would it still remain more profitable when difficulty starts climbing up. Since you are investing on hardware, would it still be more profitable, long term, if you mine bitcoin?
804  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Navigating the current wallet landscape? on: August 18, 2017, 01:54:53 PM
If you are holding hundreds of bitcoins and will not be moving them for a while, it is best to have a hardware wallet like trezor.

But if you only have a few bitcoin that you continually move around for trading and expenses, you can use light weight wallet like electrum or maybe since it is just small value, a web wallet like blockchain.info will do.

I do altcoin tradings, and if it is just small value of alts, I do not transfer it to my own wallet. I leave it on the exchange. Since I am trading, it will lessen the expense on tx fees when moving it to wallet to exchange and vice versa.

But if I have considerable amount for a certain coin, I move it to my desktop wallet since I only have large amount of alts if I am holding it for a long time.
805  Economy / Speculation / Re: $5000 is not far away from us ;D on: August 17, 2017, 06:48:09 PM
A few weeks ago I never thought it would never reach this high this early. But bitcoin proved me wrong again. But I still believe it is not yet time to reach 5K. It fall back to 4200 level again after reaching 4400. It is still testing the current resistance level.
806  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Blokchain.info can store your Ethereum now on: August 17, 2017, 06:06:55 PM
It is good news for blockchain.info user like me. I can now keep both bitcoin and ether in one place. But since it is still in beta, I will still use my ether wallet. I will wait till it is out of beta and stable before deciding to use it.
807  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: should government involvement be there ? on: August 17, 2017, 05:57:30 PM
So far in our country, it is the exchanges that the government is regulating. Bitcoin traders are still not taxed. It will be a daunting task for the government to run after those bitcoin traders to tax them. I do not think they will be able to tax them at all.
808  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the best trading site now? on: August 17, 2017, 05:35:26 PM
The trading sites that I use are Yobit, Poloniex, Livecoin, cryptopia etc. But most use Poloniex and I think this is the best.

Recently, there are lots of complain against poloniex regarding withdrawals. It used to be one of the exchanges on the top of my list, now it is kraken and bittrex.
809  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is this person thinking on: August 17, 2017, 03:13:03 PM
Nothing weird in the tx. He maximized the transaction by compiling small amounts in one transaction. Smart move I say.
810  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is Bitcoin really secure? on: August 17, 2017, 12:42:47 PM
Hello pals,
Recently I introduced Bitcoin and cryptocurrency to my friends and family, they liked the concept but they asked me a question that I wasn't able to answer. Is Bitcoin really secure? What if a hacker was able to hack Bitcoin system/blockchain?Who manages Bitcoin security and what are the security measures taken to avoid hackers being able to steal Bitcoins? Why Bitcoin is not blocked for those who use it illegally by buying/selling in the deepweb market? What if governements ban Bitcoin because of these people?
I really appreciate if you  guys give me some answers

You need to read bitcoin whitepaper. It is explained there how blockchain cannot be cheated or hacked. So bitcoin is safe because of blockchain. But if you will be careless with your private keys, then it's your fault you get hacked, not bitcoin.
811  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: regret by not believing in BITCOIN? on: August 17, 2017, 10:51:55 AM
You are not alone in this one op. I think a lot of people missed the opportunity to invest in bitcoin. Even those who doubted to invest in 2015 have missed a good opportunity and the price back then was 250. It is never too late, bitcoin can still go way up. You can still invest on bitcoin.
812  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Should I sell? on: August 17, 2017, 01:36:02 AM
Hi, all. I have 20 Litecoin and some Ethereum … around 5.7 Ethereum. Bitcoin price seems to be rising, and fast. My question is should I sell my Ethereum and Litecoin now and buy Bitcoin? I checked the price of Bitcoin today. It went down quite a bit. Do you think there is going to be a healthy correction before the price rises again? I feel like I should wait for a couple more days and view the trend. The problem with that is Litecoin seems to be gradually falling. The same is happening with Ethereum. What do you all think?

It is not advisable to sell any altcoins while the price of bitcoin is busy going up. And recently, it all red days for all altcoins. Unless you bought your eth and ltc at a very low price and you are still in profit even though the price is down, you won't sell your coins. Hold it til the price of bitcoin  settles and alts are on green again.
813  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading sucks, I'll just hold my coins on: August 17, 2017, 01:13:02 AM
True, trading your bitcoin to alts now sucks. So much better not to trade and let your bitcoin moon itself.

I think you made a bad move, did you sell your coins while it was down during the bitcoin correction? Then you lose in the trade.. Did you know that you dont need to sell that, few months later that coins you bought will go up.

How about altcoin holders?

You tell us to hold bitcoins, this is true but only valid for bitcoin holders. Majority of us diversified our assets between different altcoins and bitcoin. Maybe the pumps were incentives for us to go for altcoin, anyway, we're in loss. When we try trading them, we undergo unexpected price results. Holding without trade makes us weak.

Hold altcoins if you like but only hold those on the top coins. Holding a wrong coin will just give you losses not profits. Choose wisely on altcoins because a lot of them are useless coins and very few have real uses.
814  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: PLease push my TX on: August 16, 2017, 07:11:48 PM
I have the same question as OP, if anybody can help me it would be awesome, viabtc is not working now:

5a2397fa7e1f236d51fd49af7d687b670df5bacd0bcaa559e1ff5be81e35a48d

You do not have any problem. You do not have unconfirmed input or low tx fees. 150 sat/Byte is already large enough. Your tx will confirm in a few hours, just wait it out.
815  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Better invest in BTC or LTC on: August 16, 2017, 07:01:21 PM
I would still go for bitcoin even at current price. It is still good with a little bit below 4K as support and 4.3K as resistance. I play along those prices and earn some profit. But that is just me. LTC is also a good coin. If you want to go long term, invest in both. I do not think you will lose on any of them, long term.
816  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it wise to invest 1k into Bitcoin at this point? on: August 16, 2017, 06:06:07 PM
The price is soaring high and it is almost at its current resistance level. You could buy when it drops a bit like 4K or less. You could buy some alts though, they are all red this past few days. They will make good profit when the price stabilize a bit.
817  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why does bitcoin has constantly increasing its price lately? on: August 16, 2017, 05:53:27 PM
I'm just curious how bitcoin is rapidly increasing its value. Just last month its value was only around 2000 USD then suddenly after the fork it has constantly increased its price and now reached 4000 USD. Are there any reason why bitcoin has constantly rising? Can we expect that this month it will reach 5000 USD?

I am also curious. At first it was the August 1 effect. BCH airdrop converting into BTC that push the price up. Then it was segwit locking in that continues the push. But I do not know what keeps the price going up now. Maybe it is the effect of the hype of the two events that keeps pushing it. I do not know if it reach 5000$ but it does not yet break the resistance of 4300$ so I think it will take some more time before it reaches 5k.
818  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Do you think LTC go up soon? on: August 16, 2017, 05:45:43 PM
I am not seeing or hearing any news about LTC right now. I do not think there will be a movement for it. But LTC is a good coin, maybe you should hold a little more longer or buy more for future.
819  Economy / Speculation / Re: What caused the crash in July to make bitcoin reach $1880? Anything specific? on: August 16, 2017, 05:32:48 PM
I think it is mostly FUD from hard fork. Users are getting out of exchanges afraid of losing their bitcoin. It was too far ago,  Why do you still ask about it OP? Do you want to repeat the crash?
820  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Art of Earning BTC on: August 16, 2017, 04:12:32 PM
I am literally new to bitcoin, though I have already searched some discussions in here on how to earn, i am still totally lost and don't know how I shall start.

1. To earn btc, shall I deposit?

2. Joining bitcointalk.org, how will I be able to earn btc, by joining campaigns?

3. Is gambling a good choice to earn btc?

4. Are there jobs that pay btc?

I know those were asked lots of times, but still hoping someone will answer my doubts and questions.

Thanks :-)

Earn bitcoins by offering services like signature campaign, coding and development, escrow etc. Or you can trade bitcoin with altcoins in different exchanges. It have some risks because you can lose bitcoin doing trades. You have to buy bitcoin to do this.

But before you do any of this, I advice read up some more about the rules here on btc forum, basics of bitcoin and altcoins.
