How long does it take for a bitcoin transaction to be executed? Specifically a withdrawal to a private wallet?

My first attempt at sending money did not work. I actually waited a few hours to see if my friend would eventually ever get a message on his phone. Only then did I realize that the return message showed my balance unchanged. I suffered from the same lack of + problem that someone else mentioned.
Subsequent uses have been flawless though.
Thanks for your contributions to the "Help LightRider Get A Copy Of Bitcoin Magazine" fund though!

They can have my bitcoin only if they promise to preach the gospel of a resource based economy to all the children that they care for.

+1 for satoshi based naming. I prefer names that refer to multiples of satoshis rather that fractions of bitcoin. In example; Product X is on sale for 13 Kilo-Satoshis, which will over time be shortened to 13 Kilo-Satosh, 13 Kilo-Sats, 13 kS etc.

connivence fee.
connivance (redirected from connivence)
The furtive consent of one person to cooperate with another in the commission of an unlawful act or crime Well that certainly doesn't sound good!

putting a digital copy copy out a month after release when shipping takes _weeks_ is about the same as releasing the digital copy on release day
It won't take weeks to deliver. I reckon most people will have their magazine on Monday. I'm in Europe and it takes 3-4 days for a USPS package from US to get here so I'll probably get it very soon. I'd say the last person to get it will probably be Matthew (take a week to get to Korea I'm guessing). There is also no set delivery date for the digital copy yet. Monday is a federal holiday in the US.

Still looking forward to new charities accepting bitcoin.

Not too bad a story. A little too obsessed with sexuality, and obviously the whole thing is some anarchist fantasy, but not bad.
I am still looking forward to some speculative fiction about life in a resource based economy.

After the first page, I didn't think I was going to enjoy it. 20 pages in, I don't want to stop reading it. It kind of reminds me of Daniel Suarez's work in Daemon and Freedomtm. Hopefully it maintains the pace and fun but informative tone through the next 100.

https://github.com/Azulan/ChromecoinomyA Google Chrome extension/plugin/thing that locally and privately tracks a user's website and media consumption of participating Bitcoin economy content providers, and presents the gathered data to the user. The user can use this usage data to help determine consumption patterns and inform bitcoin donation decisions. Content providers will likely have to add a metatag or similar line of information indicating their participation, how they wish to be identified/recorded on the user's database, and a donation address for the associated content. I've never created an extension/plugin/thing before, so it will be a long time until anything remotely useful is available. But I like technical challenges, and this is one of the first ideas I've had regarding the usefulness of bitcoin in general, and am increasingly frustrated that no one is implementing this kind of ecosystem building infrastructure/browser tools. Please let me know how much the idea sucks and how I am totally failing at implementing it properly.

If there is a lesson to be learned here, it is that you can't make the world a better place in the context of a monetary system. The only wealth we have is our relationships with our fellow human beings. Any technological advancement that is outside the context of making such relationships healthier works to degrade that wealth. Zhou is making the right call in recognizing that he cannot pursue his desires to make society better while working in a sick game of token exchange.

I've never really cared about horse racing, in fact I think all animal based sports are a form of animal cruelty, but it was certainly an interesting way to promote bitcoin.
