841  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Elon Musk Calls Bitcoin A Brilliant Technology, Even Better Than Paper Money on: February 27, 2019, 04:16:25 PM
Despite being an avid supporter of Bitcoin, Elon Musk admits that he owns absolutely zero cryptocurrencies that he purchased himself.

Musk seems to find cryptocurrency to be a brilliant innovation.

“Cryptocurrency bypasses currency controls. … Paper money is going away. And crypto is a far better way to transfer values than a piece of paper, that’s for sure,” Musk said.

We he said he does own a few btcs given to him but yeah he hasn't purchased some by himself, yet. Statements like this coming from someone with elon musk's stature is a big plus to promote bitcoin and to veer it away from all the negative images it got from the past year.

Is dirk nowitzki's going to retire?

Think is too early for us to get the actual news of Nowitzki's retirement. If this will come we the fans will miss the fun. Fingers across to await the news.

I don't think there has been any announcements yet lol. Though i came across a video of doc rivers calling a timeout to call out dirk. Such class. The guy could hardly contain his tears. Though i think it's a little premature but a class act nonetheless.
843  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: UFC 235: Jones vs. Smith Prediction and Info Thread on: February 27, 2019, 04:07:38 PM
This division won't hold much of a contest for bones anymore if you ask me. The guy is on a league of his own and could easily be the most dominant ufc fighter pound for pound ever. People say he needs to go up to the hw div but i think he still would come out on top. If he could just remain clean and avoid out of the octagon issues then this guy is in for a long reign.
844  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: So I played again recently, i noticed something.. on: February 27, 2019, 04:03:22 PM
So i recently posted a thread here where houses always win in every game. Here's the link.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5088278.msg48816442#msg48816442

After that, i visited again our local carnival last night and i noticed something. If you are observant enough you can cheat the game. Warning: Its not applicable to online games.

So heres what i noticed.
1. The game is what i told last time where there is this ball and wherever the color that ball lands, its the winning color and the price would be quadrouple your bet. So i noticed that theres a certain color that almost win. The color red. Its not just coincidence because last time i checked, it happened again. The color holes are somehow tilted and its not 0 degrees on level and the color red is what it will gonna hit on that position.

2. Color games with dice. So usually, this game consists of three dices , 6 color each (dice have 6 sides). The odds are less because it has more chances of winning. Ex. The dice turns yellow, blue and red, then all the bets will be x1 in that colors. The colors other than that is lost. If the 3 dices turns blue for example then all 5 colors are lost then blue is x3 and so on. If you will notice, the house always shuffle the dices before it roles and put those not winning color in place so that it will have less winners. Look at the position of the dices when it puts on the rolers, then usually, the color below or the color you did not see wins. I usually bet after the dices are arranged so that i can see its position.

I take home triple my gambling capital this time. If you are observant enough, you can somehow cheat. This is not 100% sure but it helps a lot on deciding a bet.

Happy Gambling Smiley

Well, good observation friend and it seems like it js not a fair game enough since you have notice that trick on the local carnival of yours. Even we might think that those local carnival games do always have the advantage to earn large profit from their players, it seems like cheating is not a great thing to be executed since players are sincerely playing tough just to win their price. But good thing you have noticed that matter and win what you must deserve if they did not take advantage of the game. That is why I trust on the online casino I am currently into because they have fair games that I could play plus the bonus they serve as a welcome reward for doing my first deposit.

It seems that carnivals have their own strategies to good time players which I do not like because they are taking advantage of the people's desire to win the game but good thing that somebody have seen the way to win even there is a hindrance of this advantage strategy that the carnivals use to play the people. I wanted to try how fair those games in that online casino you were talking about.

Yes. Eventually local carnivals have hidden tricks that they use to attract players and seems like a marketing strategy to raise their profit that is coming from the betw of the players. You can surely try those games in the online casino I am talking about and also enjoy their great bonus once you have done your first deposit on it.

Well carnival games obviously are managed manually by humans so yeah, if you're observant enough, there are many holes you can take advantage of. Though it changes drastically if you're in a casino where everything is checked to the hilt and with security cameras monitoring everyone's movements.
845  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What Triggers Gambling Addiction on: February 27, 2019, 03:56:16 PM
Only one thing that triggers all to become addicted and that is greediness, theres nothing that deals with our lust in having big profit but in the end results to losing and that is being greed aside from this theres none .addict can prove that this is indeed
Yeah that is the root of this problem, people want to get infinite profits, get rich form gambling. the point is they want a profit thats
why they always look for win and pursue it until they become addicts

I tend to disagree. If it's profit you're looking for then it's very seldom that you'll find it in gambling. Perhaps a couple of lucky rolls but mostly you're likely to end up at a loss. People don't get addicted because of losing. There's something with the experience of gambling that appeals to certain people whether they win or not. The act itself of placing bets is what triggers this.
846  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How can you save money while playing gambling games? on: February 27, 2019, 03:51:04 PM
Hello! i want to save money while playing gambling game but i cant really do it because i am really addicted to bitcoin still i have small amount of money to save in my wallet but in the next day i spend it for gambling because i'll always lose in gambling games can someone help me with saving in my wallet and play gambling games at the same time.

the only way for you will be stop gambling and invest in casions.
This will safe your coins and bring you a great passive income.
Also bitcoin lending is great you can lend in bitfinex.

regards
I think it's difficult if you stop completely from gambling while you're an addict, if you want to save money and gamble then you have to be smart in financial management, many people get rich even though they like to gamble, because they have good financial planning and management

Dude, if you're going to be smart in financial management obviously you'll know that gambling can't go hand in hand with saving lol. Especially if you're already addicted! The logical answer for that is to choose what you really want to do. If you want to save then remove gambling from your system.
847  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make Bitcoin more approachable to common users on: February 27, 2019, 03:46:08 PM
I think bitcoin growth is already on a good track, for now there are nothing much can be bought using bitcoin because a lot of countries still in research phase, the adoption is still slow, when the legalisation already took place then we xan see all people will start to used bitcoin, for the one tgat understand and want to learn, they will know that bitcoin is for all level of society

Bitcoin is still in its early stages so normally, adoption is slow. People are still weighing on whether it can be trusted or not especially with everything that happened in 2017 and 2018. And it's minimum requirements are pretty much accessible to the normal person so i don't think there'll be any problems with that.
848  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Samsung confirms the rumor! on: February 27, 2019, 03:24:11 PM
I read a topic about this. That Samsung will release their new model S10 and that it will have a built cryptocurrency storage. I thought that the topic is just a rumor but I read a lot of post and comments about it that the said topic is real. Good thing that Samsung made parties with crypto as most of mobile phone users are engaged to cryptocurrency.

Well it's already a fact now and hey hopefully it precedes other mobile giants like apple to have their own crypto wallets in future releases. It's going to be very convenient for users not to download any third party mobile wallets anymore. Very innovative move by samsung.
849  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Netflix to make a documentary about the altcoin side of crypto on: February 27, 2019, 03:12:38 PM
On the third part of crypto documentaries that Netflix will provide,i think it is about ICO tokens?Well the ICO deserves attentions also do you agree guys?

Well it is a huge part of the crypto market, so sure. They may already include it in this upcoming one because how much is there actually to discuss about alts? ICOs may be almost completely irrelevant by 2020 though lol.

But yeah, Netflix seem to be banking it in with documentaries lately. I hope this one is presented as objectively as possible, considering the biases in some of their recent work.

And it's about time that people learn more about icos and what they're about. The ico market had suffered a lot because of people losing money mainly because they're not properly educated about icos. I agree that it's an essential part of crypto and a lot of good icos may come very useful in the future and deserve proper funding.
850  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: CRYPTO AND FIAT MONEY BEST COMBINATION on: February 27, 2019, 01:57:24 PM

snip ~

Crypto currency is not that secure, i mean there are still many hackers and phising link out there and we, as a crypto users must careful and alert before sending your coins. I kinda agree with faster transaction, and also the fee is also really low. It's good for sending money from different place or even different country.

do you think fiat is also secure? when we use and hold fiat  ,there is also a risk that our money can be stolen by thiefs or worst we can lost it all by our self same as on cryptos but both of the example scenario are normal for both currencies however i think fiat money is still best to use for any transaction because it is instant and no fees at all   .

crypto can be only useful majorly for online transaction where fiat money cant be used directly without depositing or converting via other payment gateway .

Yeah aside from regulations, there's not much diffrence between the two when it comes to security. It still boils down to how careful the users are. And bitcoin is still very young at this point with a lot of room for innovation and changes. Fiat did start out with a lot of imperfections and is not perfect until now. Having both as an available option would be very beneficial though.
851  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why is bitcoin reduced price an opportunity to buy? on: February 27, 2019, 01:51:14 PM
It is specially if you believe on it,
And if you know that it would  go up again soon,
So it is a good opportunity to get some right now.

Lol. Why? You get to acquire btc at bargain price that's why. I'm not understanding why people whine about this opportunity and then whine more when the price shoots up and they fail to get in cheap. It's about perspective and people should be able to see how simple buying low and selling high is.
852  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A Billion People Will Be Using Cryptocurrency in 5 Years: Brian Armstrong on: February 27, 2019, 01:39:52 PM
I think it is true because when the bitcoin started it only have a few people using it,
And right now look at it ,it have so many investors so many publicity and we are still growing.

Well it may not even take 5 years for us to have 5 billion users. You see prominent people like elon musk openly praising it's potential and people will flock to it. We've come a long way in 10 years and the growth over the last 3 years is an indication that there will be mass adoption to come.
853  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is not intended to be a stock. Blockchain has nothing to do with price on: February 27, 2019, 01:37:18 PM
Manipulators are everywhere. They are in the stock market, they are in the hedge funds, they are in the venture capital companies, almost everywhere in the financial system. Probably they are big in numbers in the crypto market because there is no regulator, so we often fall pray to their tactics! But that's how it is and we should be accepting it the way it is. There's no way we can cut them from the system. But that doesn't make the fundamentals of bitcoin, flawed! Watch what you are saying!

Market manipulation can't be stopped only by regulations.
The market should be mature enough to become free. If we got a huge daily trading volume then it will require more money to make pumps and dumps. Now many altcoins can be pumped /dumped just by a single person trying to sell his altcoin savings.

Right. 10 years is pretty short for any market to mature so we're likely still infancy. At this point though you can't avoid people treating it as a stock since the market's volatility makes it act like one. Btc and every other altcoins in the market. Though eventually i think we can come to a time where we can see bitcoin closer to being  transactional option that a stock share.
854  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The main reason for the bearish market today on: February 27, 2019, 01:32:14 PM
the sec regulation came at the right time, where we were experiencing the emergence of fake and fraudulent icos into the crypto space, lots of investors have lost huge amount of their life savings in investing in icos who later made away with their investment. This bearish market will last but a while, let the system be swept clean of fraudulent icos so that investors can trust the system once again.

Well you can't really flush out scam and shady icos entirely but you're right. That aspect had a lot to do with the decline of the market, probably more in  the decline of ethereum where most of these icos are platformed on. Though i think we're almost at the end of this bear trend.
855  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Religion and politics divide people yet bitcoin unites them on: February 27, 2019, 01:26:14 PM
Bitcoin = Love
People all over the world are flocking into bitcoin regardless of their race, culture, and believes.
Bitcoin is for everyone no matter where you are around the world, no matter the race or skin color.
In fact, the bitcoin is more transparent than any government or company yet more decentralized than both.
Is bitcoin going to be the biggest economy in the future?

We are aware of the advantage of Bitcoin to its users and to the economy at large but not to link it with or created any for of unity between Religious and politics as you rightly mentioned. Mass adoption of Bitcoin world over might be difficult as a result of regulation by the government and some other disadvantages of Bitcoin.
Yeah first bitcoin is not owned by every government like fiat so it will avoid being in the interests of a community and politics of each country. bitcoin is decentralized, owned by all of those users, thats core of uniting all people in just one currency

Well fiat in a way has done that though only in the transactional aspect. Uniting people really is a very broad term that can mean a lot of things. If you're talking about the same unification in transactional use like fiat, i think bitcoin has a good chance of doing such. Other than that, i doubt it.
856  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Adoption Spreading Fast In The Automotive Industry on: February 27, 2019, 01:23:04 PM
Well i've read somewhere that mercedes benz are already trying to utilize blockchain for transactions and with tesla's elon musk giving positive statements about crypto, there's no doubt that the automobile industry would be one of the firsts to maximize this technology. Pretty much, adoption is not far ahead.
857  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Hacker stole my funds from blockchain on: February 27, 2019, 01:18:47 PM
well, when you store assets that you have on the blockchain, make sure you activate a security system like 2fa, or something like that. something like this also happened to me in 2016. well, I lost 0.2 btc that I saved on the blockchain. I have done various ways, but it doesn't produce anything. then I decided to make a new wallet with a new email.

Right, blockchain is not hackable right now if 2fa, 12 pharase, SMS verification is activated. Those who don't activate 2fa, may be affected by hackers either sending fake email or other ways.

Yeah there are several security features that you can utilize to make sure your assets are safe but you have to make sure that it's in your own wallet. Even if you have these features enabled but you keep your coins in an exchange, the site itself may get compromised and so would be your assets. I think it's just logical to include a decent hardware wallet as an investment.
858  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: There is always a chance on: February 26, 2019, 04:11:28 PM
Well i kinda agree with op since there really are people whose lives have been changed simply by being lucky and having a lottery ticket at the right time. He's right. Regardless of how small the chances are, they're there. I just don't consider myself to be a frequent bettor lol.
859  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Is it ok to lock your bounty for 4 months on: February 26, 2019, 03:57:51 PM
I participated in a lot of bounties and you know, most of them postponed bounties and payouts. So that's why I think that bounties always pay with delays and I accept it!

You're absolutely right, this is currently the actual situation and about a lock of the bounty token i wouldn't get upset. You can be happy if you get paid at all at the moment. Most of the time you get nothing and a lock of the bounty token for four months is not really bad against it. So don't get excited about something like that and rather be happy that you got paid at all and if you're even luckier, the tokens might even be worth something. That's a lot more important than the four months of waiting.  Wink

Well we're talking about people here making efforts to promote a project. It's similar to having a stake in an ico so for me, it's non negotiable and they should be paid what they're promised. And icos don't automatically have value so hunters risk wasting their efforts for nothing. Having a lock for 4 months may make them lose good chances of converting at a better rate.
860  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Why I Don't Do Bounty Campaigns & Why You Shouldn't Either on: February 26, 2019, 03:53:19 PM
Your post reflects the market condition, you are not the only that experience these two people suffer here investors and bounty hunters, and this is the reason why ICO is now in a big messed and I'm glad I'm out of it.
Really many of us are happy to be out of icos market. Investors has really lose money to scam and abandoned icos and the bounty hunters has work tirelessly without payment or been paid with worthless tokens.  I am also out of icos investments for good.

That's the sad part with scam icos since devs only want money and they don't even think about the effort that people make to promote their projects.  It makes the ico bounties in  general, less attractive for hunters.
