HR,
What data and assumptions is this based off?

Thanks,
YC

Start point data was based on money supply and block reward as of yesterday, and the projections are based on the 0.5% block reward reduction every 10,080 blocks and the assumption that the smoothed, long term block discovery rate equals the current rate.

Good question. Thanks for asking. I thought it was evident, but by the looks of the lack of response, I think you were not alone in wondering. I've also edited the original to include that information.

HR,

Thanks for sharing this. This puts a very unique perspective on things. As stated many times before, we are in this for the long haul! Smiley

Volume is under 1 BTC and the price is down to 16 satoshi! Who would have ever thought? Still believe this is the best long term play.

YC

I read this forum every day since the creation of digibyte, mined every day since the creation of digibyte, bought some digibyte. But most of all i believe in digibyte to be the nr. 1 altcoin.

I never respond on this forum, but I really think digibyte need to take some action. Every day so mutch coin's are generated that it has to much effect on the market right now, can you do something about this? A limit or something?

Everyone keeps mentioning the number of coins being mined. The number of coins isn't the problem. Look at DOGE...they have 65 times the number of coins and they have a higher per-coin value.

Here's the problem as I see it: Sorry, this may sound a little blunt - Digibyte can't be used for anything except a few fringe merchant websites that nobody needs or has ever heard of. There needs to be some sort of reason for people to accept/use Digibyte.  Until that happens, the coin value will stay at these levels (or lower).

I've only been mining for about 10 months (DGB for about 5 months). It's a very interesting, annoying, exciting, (insert adjective here), and frustrating hobby.
I can just repeat myself: it's all about the trading volume. As long as it stays under the daily coin production equivalent the price (around 3BTC) will fall.

I still have my hopes and waiting for miracle.
We are working hard on making some things happen in the real world for DigiByte as we speak! The price will come with time after we have publicly announced some of the things we are working on in the back ground right now. We have a vision, we have a plan and we have been working toward the same goals since the day DigiByte was launched. We are well on our way to achieving this goal & now has never been a better time to buy ( we are buying ourselves) Smiley

We are on our way to Japan & China at the moment to meet with our partners/investors to get the ball rolling on some very exciting international developments for DigiByte. Updates & replies to messages for the next couple days will be intermittent as it is a long way to travel. Please note we are here and a lot of people, including people new to DigiByte are working hard in the background to make things happen.

Thank you all again for your support!

Still no word from scrxxx. We removed all references to his pool a couple days ago.

Maybe I should have said it doesn't seem to be a difficulty problem. But, looking a little closer it shows that 15 out of the 23 blocks found leading up to the last scrypt block were scrypt. Maybe that really skewed the difficulty algorithm and the current reported difficulty of 87.16752915 isn't correct

155713   09/05/14 07:27 PM   scrypt
155712   09/05/14 07:26 PM   qubit
155711   09/05/14 07:25 PM   skein
155710   09/05/14 07:24 PM   skein

155693   09/05/14 07:17 PM   scrypt
155692   09/05/14 07:17 PM   scrypt
155691   09/05/14 07:17 PM   scrypt
155690   09/05/14 07:17 PM   scrypt

We are taking a closer look into this. Our initial take is this is a temporary phenomena while multi-algo mining hash-rates stabilize. There was many back to back blocks so that will cause the difficulty to go higher than it should. It also may be the same party who was attempting to manipulate the chain with an ASIC before the switch could be attempting to do something similar again.

This is awesome! Please keep us informed as to how effective their service is. Do they cater to US bank accounts?

We have not had any contact with him. Until we do we have removed the link to his pool from the site and 1st page list of pools.

In the mean time we recommend people use Bird's P2P pool for Groestl. http://birdspool.no-ip.org:5021/static/stats/

We are still working on getting the DigiHash Groestl pool functioning properly. PM us your address if you mined @Love2hash so we can make sure you get paid accordingly. We still have some un accounted for coins in the wallet. We are loading up the redis database to check through all the logs.

THANKS for Update.

Only srcxxx is dumping his coins on cryptsy, thank you for the cheap Digibytes

So everybody stop mining on cryptohunger and there will be less dumping and price will go up.
Almost  all miners are keeping there Digibytes save, thats something to pop a beer for.

cheers  Grin

Yep he has something like a groestl multipool set up with his 'optimized' miners, some more info in this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=652849.320

He mentions how he's mining DGB for profit, and it's being dumped for BTC payouts to the people in his pool.

Hello,

yeah i know, reading everything.
He's is a dev of groestlcoin.,He knows how the groestl algorithm, miner & pool works.

I think there is something hidden in this combination.
Maybe he is using this on every coin that is using this groestle algorithm on his pool and multipool? (www.boostpool.com)

List of coins on his cryptohunger pool

Digibyte, is there any contact with srcxxx?

i have 300% of increase with grs-miner (10 -> 30Mh/s), something is not normal even if it's optimized. I don't read there is a fee and how high was the fee. I don't like hidden things.
I'm not of this pool now.

Im off this pool as well. Im back to https://v2.cryptopoolmining.com/dgb-groestl where already helped with Scrypt to push to block 145K.
The thing is that its not fair to all other Pools and Groestl Miners. Hidden Fees, Strange Hashrates, etc. i can not advice anyone here to support this pool.
DGB also stands for transparency. This Pool is not!
But still 19 workers mining there. http://cryptohunger.com:81/tbs. So sad.... Also Cryptohunger is dumping at Cryptsy to get profit!

The fact is, im Mining on normal Pool now.
Using sgminer 1.4.0 with this config:
grs-sgminer1_4_0\sgminer.exe -k myriadcoin-groestl -o stratum+tcp://eu1.cryptopoolmining.com:5017 -u xxx -p x -I 18 -w 256
This working well for me. Im getting an average of 26 Khash/s. Thats about 10 Khash/s less but its fair!

P.S.: @Jared... I can not mine with this settings on http://love2hash.com/. You said it's fixed!?

Update on love2hash. We are manually pushing more payouts out. We are working with the pros @ livechains.net to get things squared away and fixed. If you have not received the proper payouts or cannot mine please PM us your address & settings.

We also will be switching the pool over to the domain name "digihash.co" with a 2% pool fee that will go toward DigiByte development. We are going to get rid of the love2hash domain name and consolidate to one pool.
933  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ DigiByte ★★ [DGB] ✈ ✔ MultiAlgo v3.0.1 officially released! Mandatory Update! on: September 04, 2014, 10:23:38 PM
srcxxx,

Quick question that I hope you can clarify: all subsidies for blocks found on your pool ( http://cryptohunger.com:81/ ) have had 25% taken right off the top and sent to another address. What is the reason for that?

Here's the block explorer summary for Newly Generated Coins for blocks found by Crypto Hunger:
http://insight.dgb.cryptopoolmining.com/block/dd1f60e865d52fdc02561af3a5367d70a55ff51e9ed76eaae11fb620e38c4faa

As can be easily seen, there are two payout addresses:

D96y4y74NUegfYJ8yn9chxbPLrRiypCF6V
and
DBy3212dWAPPzPcyt5fSSchjyozyr5ejLw

When one follows the "money trail", one sees that there are indeed multiple payouts to multiple addresses (miner payouts) for D96y4y74NUegfYJ8yn9chxbPLrRiypCF6V .

HOWEVER, the other address, DBy3212dWAPPzPcyt5fSSchjyozyr5ejLw , has ONLY re-SENT coins to ONE address for a total of just over a million DGB and it also still has a current balance of just under another 3/4 of a million DGB!
http://insight.dgb.cryptopoolmining.com/address/DBy3212dWAPPzPcyt5fSSchjyozyr5ejLw

The address that has received the one million DGB, DRykTe2nXZpSX1KytPXjvPhGfCAXb4ZBM6 , has also received DGB from other addresses, has only sent 128,100 DGB and has a current account balance of 1,371,300.
http://insight.dgb.cryptopoolmining.com/address/DRykTe2nXZpSX1KytPXjvPhGfCAXb4ZBM6

That all means that, in less than four days, from Newly Generated Coins on Crypto Hunger, around 1.75 million DGB, or roughly 25% of subsidies, have NOT gone to miner payouts, but are currently "parked" in two separate accounts.

What's the purpose for this?

Just out of curiosity.
Given the evidence above we would like to see a clear and concise answer from srcxxx on this issue. Otherwise we will remove the pool from all listings and media material.

In the mean time we have got groestl working at http://love2hash.com/tbs. We are still working on the other algos. Please let us know that you have received the proper payout if you have mined on Love2Hash.
934  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ DigiByte ★★ [DGB] ✈ ✔ MultiAlgo v3.0.1 officially released! Mandatory Update! on: September 04, 2014, 05:40:57 PM
The solution to the problem where you cannot send coins mined either from solo or p2pool (tx rejected by network) is to enable coin control in the wallet options, then select all inputs, and deselect any that have under 100 confirmations. The wallet is configured to look at everything as needing only 8 or so confirmations, while this is no longer true. 100 confirmations are needed for newly generated coins. The wallet attempts to send them with under 100 confirms, and the network obviously rejects them.
This is a solid solution. This is the conclusion we have arrived at as well!

We are catching up with emails & messages on here but will try to get everyone's questions answered as soon as possible!
935  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ DigiByte ★★ [DGB] ✈ ✔ MultiAlgo v3.0.1 officially released! Mandatory Update! on: September 03, 2014, 12:29:08 AM
Is it normal that people on Skein are mining a lot of dgb and finding block 50 times more than scrypt Huh Look how many blocks are found... don't understand why there is so much difference between scrypt and skein... this should be adjusted with difficulty normaly between all algos right ?  (Skein: http://birdspool.no-ip.org:5031/static/stats/ Scrypt: http://p2phash.com:9022/static/)
This statistic is best determined by an entire days worth of data from all pools. We are going to compile this starting tomorrow.

Anyone used this?

http://digiaddress.org/

I am considering transferring the majority of my DGB holding to a paper wallet...  but not sure the best way to do it. I don't care what it looks like.... plain old piece of paper with the address/key pair is fine with me.

I do not think that has been updated. We need to check with the developer to check that to make sure it will work with 3.0.1.
938  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ★★ DigiByte ★★ [DGB] ✈ ✔ MultiAlgo v3.0.1 officially released! Mandatory Update! on: September 02, 2014, 04:45:59 PM
The momentum is very high right within the community. Let's continue to get the word out and keep focused on the end goal. Jared, what specific items would help DGB that you seem to not have capacity for at this moment?

YC

People started mining and DGB price is all the way going down...
This is not a good sign Wink We have to take precautions but apparently this coin meant to be easy to get for everybody, right ?

I am not being negative but a friendly warning, otherwise we will be trading DGB around 3-10 SAT range in a few months.

Cheers.
Hi halinyo.

offcourse people are selling there mined coins. Digibyte already knows this before they created the multi-algo.
Youre messages are not really helping anything.   (  https://twitter.com/kilkinyox/status/505624080268402688 )

stay positive, i'm sure Jared & his  team have some good things running in the background.
There is a Exchange running in testing fase, why ? They received investments, why?  There is a NDA,why?

Things will fall in place and people who are selling now will panic buy later on.

Just be patient. and help if you want to.

Sure, I will help... DGB is the coin I am holding atm... but seeing the price down... just makes me anxious.

Thank you, you will not regret this.
It will take maybe a month, a year.... nobody knows.
Price is going down for a couple of days, buy more of those cheap Digibytes.

have a good day.

Is there a way to see what the network hash rate for each algo is?  Relatively speaking, how much hash is pointed at sha256 for instance compared to qubit?

I am just really curious to see if there is an algo that is favored by the miners compared to another.
We are working on updating this in the code base.

Have we been forking? I noticed that some payments have been slipping out of my wallet
Not that we have noticed. But with 100 confirmations to maturity some blocks will be invalidated. This is part of the nature of multi algo if I am not mistaken. Will keep an eye on that though.
