What is your goal?  Because all you're doing is spamming the thread.  Everyone's read those posts.  I don't deny making them.

Worse than a scam.  A backdoor and the scammer just mocked everyone.

Lol

I thought I would check out a clone..... my bad.  lol

This person is a known troll and even worse a known lying peice of shit. They campaigned on lies for months in an effort to cause confusion about darkcoin. Please enjoy a clip from their past.... He spread false information about darkcoin in this thread and multiple others knowingly for and extended period of time.

Total shithead. Worth of the toilet. Working on the long troll, dont buy it. Luckily I downloaded every comment he ever made a while back so all his trolling is on file, forever.

What does that have to do with me warning people not to install a virus infected QT?

I thought about engaging you in a war of words but I have no desire to clutter the Darkcoin thread with more of that nonsense.  Please continue with your conspiracies regarding me and some alleged long troll. Kiss

It really sux when you work hard to be ready to mine during the very small window available to a little guy, and there isn't a node, so the pools rape our little tiny chances.........   it's bad enough that the stupid devs make the block rewards almost nothing for the first 100 blocks so that it further "welcomes" the little guy who does this for fun.

Any future devs who may see this, please think about it.

Thank you.

It's actually getting depressing watching you guys continue to mine these worthless coins.  It's always the same thing, no nodes, coin forks, premine, hidden premine, exchange waiting, premine dumped, coin abandoned, etc...

Just look at the roadmap for this coin:

Roadmap
1. Launch  Grin
2. In the future some casinogames online. BlackJack, Baccarat, wheel of fortune and more
3. Maybe onlinepoker

This coin offers absolutely nothing and will never have any value.  It's a complete waste of time.  But you already found that out didn't you?

926  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] Darkcoin | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW and Darksend | Instant TX on: November 07, 2014, 12:18:06 AM
Anyway, all ideas on how to recruit developers are welcomed!

We should just start a thread on Alternate cryptocurrencies that Darkcoin wants more devs. Preferably Evan does it so it has credibility. And we should tweet it as well.

I don't believe funding solely with donations will work, few generous holders will donate, and the rest will sit on their wallets freerolling. Currently 25% of the block reward goes to masternodes, 75% goes to miners. So why not 1% to dev fund / foundation? That would mean 28 DRK / day minimum. Not much, but the price will only go up from here, right? Smiley  Or maybe even 5%?

And the idea that masternodes could vote how the funds are used is awesome. How to implement that though when there is so much else to implement as well is another matter. Smiley

Actually something like a percentage of masternode payments going to a developer fund.  Start at a certain percentage and have it track the emission rate of the coin.  Ten percent is a good place to start decreasing over time.

I can't believe I'm agreeing with shojayxt. 10% of the block reward to dev fund for the next 6 months, decrease to 8% for the next 6, and so on, until it's 1%. At that point the value of that 1% could potentially be very high. 10% of the reward is at the minimum 280 DRK /day btw.

Taking more from the miners? Is this bad idea day or some shit?

I was actually talking about 10% of masternode payments.  I guess I wasn't clear.  Nothing more should be taken away from the miners.

As the core idea of the merger was to acquire more developers. Let's start drumming up ideas how we can onboard new talent to the darkcoin team. There needs to be some sort of incentive or clever marketing to weed out some of the good devs

I'll happily donate half my MN earnings to a developer fund if devs are needed, and I think they are. As long as it goes to professional devs hired/contracted who have real names and real experience, not some faceless cryptognat clown.

It's a shame the ShadowCash merger came out, but I'm going to go ahead and call it off completely. If we got approval from the ShadowCash team, the plan was to bring this to the community. I was never intending to act unilaterally to merge the two coins.  However, it appears that a majority of the community is against this idea, so we'll find other ways to acquire talent. Thanks for your input everyone.

Good call
929  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DRK] Darkcoin | First Anonymous Coin | Inventor of X11, DGW and Darksend | Instant TX on: November 06, 2014, 08:19:26 PM
ShadowCash Proposal Conditions

1.) Converted funds will be locked for a period of 90 days
2.) We're looking for some kind of commitment from the core team that they'd work on darkcoin for at least a year beyond this. They could work on whatever they like, at the pace they're working now.
3.) DRK Will be paid for in a 1:1 relationship, dollar wise from this moment forward.  494909 (SDC MarketCap) / 9833182 (DRK Market Cap), therefore 5.03% of the total number of DRK coins will be created on a future block, totaling 240277DRK. The exchange rate will be 31.33SDC for 1DRK.
4.) SDC users will be awarded DRK based on coins destroyed and signed (sign the private key proving you own the key). A user will send coins to a non-redeemable address, if those coins for example equal 1% (64435 SDC) of the total number of SDC ( that would amount to 2056DRK being awarded.

Evan, I had no idea you were considering "printing" more Darkcoins to bail out ShadowCash. There should be a better solution. This will create a bad precedent and what will stop you not 'print' more money in the future? Ok, I get it, we need new dev team but we don't have to bail out a failing coin. Let's think about an alternative plan.

I don't think "printing" is a good analogy to what we're doing. It's more like moving their marketcap in ours, remember they're destroying coins to create them in Darkcoin. Besides that, we've talked about reducing the eventual coin supply to compensate for the new coins, so there's actually no inflationary effect in the long term. I'll add this to the document.

Also, we're not acting unilaterally. There was an idea that has been proposed to their team and will only be done with the consent of the community.

Be that as it may, you are altering the reward structure by being able to print a superblock to increase the coin supply. It goes against what crypto stands for. The decision to change the reward in terms of balance between miners and masternodes didn't change the max coinage--it was still the same block reward, but split differently. What you're talking about is actually changing the amount of outstanding coins... please tell me you see that.

What happens 6 months from now when another opportunity arises, are we just going to print another superblock to merge with them? Where do you draw the line?

From the proposal: "In the long term, Darkcoin’s distribution curve will be slightly reduced so we release exactly the same amount of coins in the long term. This will also counteract the effects of expanding the Darkcoin supply." In the long term this is a non-inflationary event.

This is the only "coin-merge" that's being planned.

What?  Changing the emission rate as well?

i like the idea of a coinmerge, solves one of the biggest problems .. trying to increase the development team
which just isnt easy with every development team tied to its own coin. The benefits from such strategic alliance
would be immense.

Which is all fine and dandy if it happened without printing new DRK. If it came from the existing DRK supply so be it, but not changing the supply. It's a horrible idea.

I agree that it's a horrible idea regardless where the DRK comes from.

I dont understand what you guys mean by printing in this case. They would just be buying DRK at a fixed exchange rate, their coins have value. It would be exactly the same if they were to sell for BTC and buy DRK but obviously the  liquidity wouldnt allow to transfer the whole SDC market cap at once their price would dump and DRK would pump, therefore a special arrangement would need to be make so that they can transfer at a fixed rate. I really dont see any problem with this, why is it so difficult to support progress and development?

What about the people that have SDC that don't want to buy DRK?

You can't start having "Special Arrangements"  and then be considered "Decentralized".

So if I hold my drk til I die, does that mean I have to read shojays comments for the rest of my life? Think I might just KMS.

You just can't stand to hear anything that goes against your narrow view of the world and how things work can you?  Please either put me on ignore or KYS.  Problem solved.

Shojayxt since the lobotomy you're substantially improved (actually more of a road-to-Damascus-conversion really) but people here have long memories and recall just what a complete tool you were back in your trolling days. I'm not saying that some of what you wrote in the past wasn't relevant or didn't have some truth (and the need to get everyone to undergo reality checks within fan-boy movements is important), but your MO was to put shit on just about everyone here in the DRK thread and boast about how much more successful you were jumping in and out of DRK continually while the "losers" just retained their DRK holdings in MNs. Many of us that have invested in MNs and refrained from being part of the mad trading scene have helped to maintain stability throughout this crypto winter, not that trading isn't essential to how assets like this work, but your continuous criticism and expression of disdain for the people here who've believed in DRK and stayed the course was pretty offensive and frankly you owe an apology.

I don't owe anyone an apology.

Lets try and keep this thread about Darkcoin and related issues.  Rehashing the past is a waste of time.

Thanks

its 10 minute blocks target time not 60 sec..   its been 3.5 hrs and theres ~180 blocks only. Half in first 30 min. Retargeting is trying to play catchup to the hash coming online.

It will take a long time to catch up with that 2.5% premine/210,010 coins

Actually it's the worst thing that can happen if you're hoping for mass adoption.  Being branded a coin for drug dealers is not a good thing.  But apparently that's the direction this coin is going.  Too bad.

Edit:

How many Rolling Stone twitter followers do you think are going to be buying drugs online?

Where did bitcoin start?

Comparing any coin to bitcoin is pointless.  No coin will ever follow the same path that bitcoin did.  Things have changed since bitcoin.  What worked for bitcoin is not going to work for a coin today.  You can't just say "remember bitcoin" and hope that darkcoin follows the same path to adoption.  It won't.  It's 2014, cryptocurrency isn't the same as it was when bitcoin was launched.
