921  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: XEN Crypto Price (XEN) on: October 14, 2023, 11:23:06 AM
Can someone summarize what this is about and why would this be anything but waste of time and space? I can't se any use cases, just free minting and having no value.

CMC says that it has marketcap of $1.2M if we take it with fully diluted marketcap.
But their Self-reported circulating supply is 26.54T while Total supply being 3.85T.

So what's up with that lol.

The most recent exchanges with altcoins which are offering high
transactions on the XEN token.

But what if you guys win and you just wanna have fun, what you'd do with the money?
That depends on my budget and expenses and the current life situation, and the amount i am winning.
I might buy somehing i need, pay my bills, use it to luxury, invest into some cryptocurrencies, pay back a loan, use it to luxury, or divide it for each of those.

At the moment it would be saving for christmas expenses and electric bills, since i don't know if they are going to be overwhelming again. And some for some luxury for my girlfriend.
923  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cockfighting? on: October 13, 2023, 09:08:41 PM
These cockfighting superstitions are  fallacy.  There are no proven statistics that prove that these superstitions really work.  Even my relative who used to raise fighting fowl has his own superstition but in the end stopped because most of his fowl lost.
Sure, but gambling is full of superstitious behavior. People who who make animals fight for their own amusement, might not be most secular people, pondering ethical questions or practising logical reasoning. It fits that magical thinking would be part of it. Especially when in gambling it's part of people who aren't superstitious otherwise. It's just because we want to win and want to use every possible trick to do it. No matter if it's gods, tarot cards, horoscope, numerology, lucky objects and routines or some sort of compulsive behaviour. None of it rarely makes any sense.
924  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why is horse racing so unpopular here and a bit of extra feedback on: October 13, 2023, 09:00:35 PM
Let's keep this as simple as possible and let's not shitpost!

I see thousands of posts about football, a few hundred about other sports, and the rest are just almost non-existent. I'm a gambler myself but I stopped a while ago betting on soccer, all the Nxx in American sports and I'm just betting now and then on horse racing, from one penny at a time to some larger sums in case of a grade 1 event or festival.
But here it seems like there is little interest in this, is that because horse racing is just unpopular or is it because, well,.... the casinos that sponsor most signatures here are not promoting it? So no post quota to make?  Grin My old local gambling forum that covered this is also near death, I'm sitting in the sun 8 hours a day boring myself to death, so here comes feedback next part :

- Do you honestly think running a prediction game (run with my own funds) would attract genuine interest in this and not just shitposting quota?
- Would let's say 1-2 mbtc (per event, about one or two per month) be enough for people here to at least open a few links and take a look at what hoses are running and what their timeform is?
- Is anyone here actually gambling on horse racing?

It's not unpopular just in here, the popularity of it has decreased over time in gambling in general. I am not certain why but it seems that other more appealing sports have just driven over it.
It used to be a thing and i remember my dad taking me to horse races, but at least i wouldn't be that interested to watch them run from tv. That would be just boring.

I am guessing that used to be more interesting when people still gathered together, and might be that people saw it as one of the sports that was harder to fix by mobs.
Also as people's awareness of animal rights is growing, they tend to watch less sports where animals are abused, or doped.

Thoughts?  Huh
If you get your stablecoins frozen you have been using laundered or stolen money, you are a terrorist organization or a black listed person. They don't just freeze joe nobody's money.

And stablecoins are rising popularity is because it's easy to use them for trading in dexes. You can't do that with normal fiat money.
Sometimes it's just practical to convert into something less volatile like value of usd. Sure it's centralized but so is real fiat money. If you want to use money that's not going to be frozen, there still are decentralized currencies out there. But even those can be frozen in CEXes.
926  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your Favorite Altcoin and Why? on: October 13, 2023, 08:34:52 PM
At the moment it's definitely ethereum. Layer 2 like of it like arbitrum guarantees we can use eth to send next to free tx fees. I honestly think that most of the projects move to that sooner or later. Reddit made a mistake choosing polygon before arb was ready to use and adopting that instead, would make so much more sense.

It has most ecosystem build into it, and while there are altcoins that are claiming to be more faster and efficient, they haven't really been in situations where those claims would be tested. And i wouldn't trust too much money into them.

Sol is interesting and my second choice, but i am still looking into it. And Dusk might surprise everyone at some point. Right now it's just a waiting game for it.
927  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Digital Real Estate: Is it worth it? on: October 13, 2023, 08:25:10 PM
I've seen digital property being sold for thousands of dollars (USD) in Decentraland. I'm yet to understand why digital real estate is appalling to mainstream investors. Owning a virtual property is not the same as owning a real one. It's just like NFTs (through the form of digital art, items, etc.). It may be all hype that will eventually fade away into oblivion. Or maybe I'm wrong?

Do you think digital real estate has a future? Is it worth it? If not, why? Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much. Smiley
When we are talking about decentraland, it's not "like" nft, it's nft. It might have value in the future, if that platform gets adopted by huge amount of people, that's why people are buying them.
My guess is that it's not. There has been virtual collectives before and every time they stay more or less niche sites.

I totally understand why people would suspect that ntfs in decentraland could have value, but they don't seem to get that cryptos and nfts are too confusing to people. And they might get adopted other ways, like via reddit avatars ect. Not habbo-like virtual places. Those have existed for a long time without nfts and people have bought things in them without nfts, so naturally they buy nfts too.
928  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you play while listening music? on: October 13, 2023, 08:13:02 PM
Which is more entertaining? playing games listening to music or without music just sound of the games like roulette ball bouncing on the metal wheel or playing games in silence?
While listening to music its hard to control our emotions while losing and we are not able to concentrate on game. it is highly likely that we blow our account by betting high.
but it is more entertaining while listening music on low volume and playing games.
I used to listen to jazz while playing, and some choir chanting. But these days i listen to audiobooks and podcasts while doing pretty much everything that doesn't need my full attention. If i need to read or calculate something, i will change to either my spotify favorite playlist, audio of rain and thunder, or white/brown noise or silence.

I don't do it to control my emotions but shut down other background noises that might distract me.
929  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Don’t push playing more on: October 12, 2023, 06:38:37 PM
Today I encountered again my biggest nemesis on gambling which is being stuck on my gambling progress. I’ve gambling for multiple days in a row with just having a breakeven on my total bankroll. This due to the game doesn’t gave me any long winning streak and only just more losses. The only thing that makes me keep up on the breakeven side is the increased on wager to recover my losses but my gambling result is literally 1 win to 3 or more losses ratio. This is how bad my overall game.

The only good news is this time I remember how this weakness of mine always makes me lose in the past so I stop already gambling and take a break. This is what I’m trying to share here. If you really feel that your gambling doesn’t want to make you move forward by having decent profit and just giving you a hard time then don’t hesitate to quit! Don’t push forward while you are already playing uncomfortably because this will just make you bet recklessly.

Have a break and just gamble newt week or month because a lucky game will make you win easily and not with a very hard to win winning condition.
If i am in loss, i have a rule that i won't chase for breakeven, because that could make things way worse. It's not a break because i am losing, but a full stop because i used my budget. And i only come back after new planned budget is available. Just having a budget limit and accepting loss take you far. They won't bring your money back but they will limit you destroying rest of your bankroll.

And i never bend my rules you set for myself while i am not playing, rules need to be simple to follow, and i need to trust your decisions that were made when i was not zoned out and gambling.
930  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: While Hodling, Don't under estimate the importance of selling. on: October 11, 2023, 11:35:04 PM

Selling at the right time also allow you to diversify your portfolio.
-cut-
Sure, but no one knows when the right time is. Is it +200% when after selling it could rise %30000? Or is it -30% after it could drop -100%.
Hindsight is not an investing advice and no one knows where the price is going. We might see signs that give us glimpses of future it but those are not 100% trustworthy.

My tactic, when the price is growing. Is to slowly sell and not looking back. Especially after i sell everything. We can't time the top and sometimes i set myself targets when to sell. Sometimes those targets never come, but that's life and you just have to look forward for the next win or failure.

And you don't have to learn from every failure, because you'll definitely will fail some of the time, even if you are doing everything correctly, that's just part of the game and it comes with the probability to find the coin that goes to moon.
931  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Nowhere is safe? on: October 11, 2023, 11:25:19 PM
With hacks occurring more frequently these days, I would strongly emphasize the importance of security. Whether it's a decentralized exchange (DEX) or a centralized exchange (CEX), no one is immune. First, we witnessed the Mixin incident, and now it's Galxe. It's crucial for everyone to assess the security measures of any platform before entrusting their funds. We all bear the responsibility to conduct thorough research before investing our hard-earned money
Nothing in life is safe, but grouping all CEXes as equally unsafe is ignorant, just like all DEXes. There are most likely going to be more hacks in the future in both of them, but maybe focus on the exchanges that have been legit, old, never hacked or at least compensated losses.

There are more trustworthy Dexes out then random hacked ones you posted just like there are more Trustworthy CEXes. The one you posted on your edit (Bitget), is not one of them. Not a change i would ever recommend that CEX to anyone.

Do you think BTC is being used for good purposes or not?
-cut-
It's like asking are rocks used for good or evil. They can be tools or weapons, and they are going to be used in every way humans can think of. Same goes with bitcoin.
I don't have an opinion if this specific thing was good or bad. That doesn't really matter to me, it just proves that every people will use it any way they see fit and no one really can stop them. If someone thought this was bad there will be worst and better use cases. I guarantee you that.

Bitcoin is a P2P protocol. It's a tool and it's always going to be used for good and evil purposes and purposes beyond them. Just like every tool out there.
933  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 9 years ago today, an epic battle played out on bitcoin exchanges. on: October 11, 2023, 10:54:59 PM
Today you can find lot's of well documented articles that lead to this, just by googling Blocksize Wars. Bearwhale wasn't the only one who falled for FUD back then.

Back then people were too triggered about this and at least if you were newbie and listened to wrong crowd, I see that i would have been easily fooled just by the technical jargon i wouldn't get.
Luckily i trusted the right people about bitcoin so this wasn't an issue for me. It was annoying and concerning to explain my friends that they shouldn't read wrong sites and fall for wrong "bitcoin".

The whole attitude was pretty chaotic. And not just because of the blocksize wars, but because we were on the bottom of the bear market, so lots of people had lost lots of money and all there was left was crazies and true believers. Connection to the "real world people" seemed quite severed for a while as they were just happy "i told you so" because rest of the world thought that bitcoin died. So i don't wonder people thought it was dead. I was kinda certain about it at some point too.
934  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: October 10, 2023, 05:19:33 PM
you are right Gambling is made for fun. And I think it's made for rich people. Why should I gamble if I don't have enough money?
Personally, I think gambling is more likely to lose than win. And it's not a way to make money. I don't understand why I would waste money gambling when I don't have money. As a result, we may need to borrow money in the future to cover my personal expenses. However, gambling is only a game. And one should never gamble if one does not have enough extra money. If a person gambles even after he has enough money, he is definitely said to be addicted to gambling. And gambling addiction is very harmful.
I basically agree with that. Because i have enough money to spend playing, i have sufficient money. It would be very irresponsible for me to play otherwise. I am counting my future gambling budget as a loss by default anyway.

But that doesn't make me rich, at least in where i live. I guess being rich is matter of perspective, as i definitely have more money then i need to survive. But i wouldn't be gambling unless i could use some more money, so if there weren't a slight change to hit a jackpot. I wouldn't probably be playing, just for smaller multipliers.

935  Economy / Economics / Re: Help me analyze the feasibility of this business idea on: October 10, 2023, 12:44:23 PM
1. I don't understand with the part to focus in crypto and online stuff, it's too general. If you mean you want to understand about the coin you want to invest, it's not making money, but you will need to wait until the hype happen or bull run which take year(s).

2. The problem is you didn't break down the skill you have. You need to break down what you can do in graphic or tech, use it as a portfolio. Example you're want to teach how to pick a good color combination, you can explain the way or principle you pick the color, it become better if you can backup your guide with a phenomenal artist's words.
Op didn't say anything about focusing on teaching about crypto, but that remaining free time he / she could use to focus on his personal crypto hobby/interest/investments or whatever. So he doesn't really explain it as it's a personal free time issue, and to op it definitely can be about making money, as to most of us it is exaclly that.
936  Economy / Gambling / Re: ✨ Shuffle.com | The next generation of crypto casinos | Sports, Casino + token on: October 10, 2023, 12:35:46 PM
I was wondering who i could contact either here or on telegram/discord about VIP? I have 45 million wagered on stake and 20 million wagered on bc and im looking gor a new sportsbook but want to make sure im treated correctly, i contacted support but they brushed me off
I don't seem your query has had a decisive response yet but I like something like this and since it's a VIP status you seek, you will get it easily after fulfilling the condition. I hope you are truthful to your words.

By the way, you might want to elaborate on what you discussed with the support instead of just saying they brushed you off. In case you need further assistance, you may want to relate with the OP for advice and guidance on what you want. PM is also another good option to contact him privately. What I can say is that Shuffle has been professionally handling things here, yours shouldn't be any different.
Doesn't really matter if he speaks true here, as i am certain that the team would confirm that without giving vip status to some random nobody. Otherwise anyone could get it. And while i think that team takes something like this seriously because it's $45M and you don't want to pass the change of that being true. I am still sure he/she needs to prove it, with screenshots and tx:s or, what would be easier way then start gambling and getting high rank in no time.
937  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: is there any safe ways out there to get 10-15 % ANY return rate ? on: October 10, 2023, 12:27:17 PM
is there any safe ways out there to get 10-15 % ANY return rate ?

as far as banks i noticed maximum 5 %

crypto exchanges upto 15 %   - but are they safe to put money there ? like nexo , kucoin ?
I can't promise NExo or Kucoin being safe. No one can. In fact i always sort of suspected that kucoin could go down any day. It had strange strategies at the start that that they already had to change, which made me think they didn't have any legal team or even advisors. Nor i have any clue if they ever got any.

Their help desk is a joke. One could make 100x better implementing chatgpt translation, and i still don't think they would know any better than informed customer. As they are only working and looking the answering sheets. Most of the time it's a question that they need to ask their from bosses anyway. And they are busy and might not answer any time soon. If ever.

I would say that while nothing is safe, some places are safer than other, so don't go chasing higherst return with the cost of having to deal with iffy exchange. Coinbase, kraken, bitfinex and binance have a good track record dealing with customers, and while they might not give biggest returns, i would definitely stick on those.
938  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 95% of NFTs have a market cap of zero on: October 10, 2023, 12:10:52 PM

But do they as collectors lose out on buying NFTs?
it depends on each person's perspective because there are those who buy NFTs for speculation and those who buy because of pure art.
-cut-
I think that art might play a part in why someone chooses specific nft, but no one buys just purely because of an art. If there's not enough scarcity or liquidity for that nft, it doen't have value in people's eyes, or literal value because of saturated market.

And you technically don't own the art or rights to it without kyc and a specific contract for that. You just own the right to trade the link connected to something. Similar to the fact you can't trade securites without kyc and ability to recover lost securities. Which isn't an option with nft art.
939  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Are memecoins tarnishing the image of crypto? on: October 09, 2023, 08:02:07 PM
Every day, thousands of memecoins are launched, and unfortunately, around 95% of them turn out to be scams. This scam epidemic is affecting many people, especially newcomers who lack experience and are more vulnerable to such scams.

The issue arises when newbies join the crypto space and fall victim to these scammers, leading them to blame all of crypto as a scam. While some memecoins have indeed damaged the reputation of the crypto industry, others have achieved incredible success, with values skyrocketing by 100 or even 1000 times.

For beginners, it's advisable to steer clear of memecoins. However, if they still want to get involved, they should consider investing in memecoins listed on reputable exchanges, even if it means earning lower profits. One example I follow is Bitget's memezone, where memecoins may not be listed at the start of their project but get listed at an early stage. Unlike DEX, these platforms provides more security, reducing concerns about being unable to sell,or removal of LPs.
One could say it's tarnishing the image, and one could say it was tarnished from the beginning. Whole idea behind crypto is freedom, and you can choose just the best things from it if you look at the cryptocurrency scene as whole.

Memecoins could be indeed defining the image of crypto as it is. Because it's a big part of it no matter if we want it or not. All the scams, weak and good projects, all the lost wallets and gained money, all the memes, most idiotic crazies and tech geniuses are all part of it. It doesn't really have an ideology. Left and right are both investing into it and laughing at it.

If you want to polish the image of crypto, just do your part, that makes this a better place. Asking everyone else doesn't really cut it. It all starts from example.
940  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is a Standing Desk the Right Choice for Traders? on: October 09, 2023, 07:53:21 PM

In the world of cryptocurrency trading, where every minute counts, the choice between a standing desk and a traditional chair can be a topic of hot debate. I've spent 15 years on trading floors, and I've experienced both sides of the spectrum. Standing desks have their perks, offering potential health benefits and increased alertness, which can be crucial for making quick decisions in the volatile crypto market.

But here's a question for you, fellow Bitcointalk traders: Does standing really help make better and faster decisions in the high-speed trading world? Have you tried it, and did it work for you? Or do you believe that the comfort of a super ergonomic chair is the key to staying sharp during those long trading hours? Let's dive into this discussion and share our insights on finding the perfect balance between health and productivity in the crypto trading world. Your experiences and opinions matter, so let's hear them!
Standing desk is better for all kinds of jobs you are normally doing sitting down whole day. Or ergonomic chair or a gym ball. Being a trader is no different from any jobs that are done sitting on the desk looking at the monitors. But it doesn't guarantee any results. Best crypto traders i know do it with their laptop on the road.

But if you really want to tweak your trading conditions, start from the basics. As with better health and better life, you can concentrate better. Using brain power is wears you out. You need to be able to snap out of it and keep other valuable things in your life than just work.

Remember to utilize free time well. Exercise, sleep well, eat healthy, practise midfulness or anything that relaxes your mind. Work on your psychological issues and balance your time you have for your work / love / family / friends / alone time. Because health comes from balanced life, mind and body. Not from tricks. You might have as much time for work as you would want, but surely you want to enjoy your life too? It isn't all making as much money as you can if life is otherwise empty.
