9301  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Your service on: December 22, 2019, 05:14:13 PM
if an exchange requires KYC for some user, there is nothing stopping them from forcing everyone else to submit their KYC documents. even if you are getting away with not doing it for so long, there will come a day when they block your account until you hand over your documents.

Well, the same line of thinking applies to an exchange which doesn't requires any kyc now.

If an exchange does  not requires any kyc from any use,, there is  nothing stopping them from forcing everyone to submit their kyc documents.  Even If you are getting away with not doing so for years. There will come the day when they block your account until you hand over your documents.

Lol

There is no solution for this. Just use the exchanges until they block your account  and keep the balance empty
9302  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC or USD Pairs? on: December 22, 2019, 05:08:12 PM
For cashing out, i would use localbitcoins and it will ask for KYC. Rather i have already done my KYC there.
But within the exchange, converting in USD won't help for cash out purpose.  Normally i convert my BTC into usd within the exchange, when i get the signal of btc dumping.

Localbitcoin is the same as using a trading pair btc×usd (or other fiat cuerency)
Converting to usd won't help to cash out?
Do you know what is cash out? Cash out is to sell bfc back to fiat. There is no way to cash out without using a fiatxbfc paid, and localbitcoin is exactly that.
9303  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Check the balance of your Bitcoin address at a specific date on: December 22, 2019, 04:39:59 PM
Isn't this too much trouble for something any blockchain explorer can do?
Just deduct all transactions past the specific date you want.
Unless you have to know the value of many addresses in an specific date
9304  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Reminder: TestNet coins have no value whatsoever, don't get scammed. on: December 22, 2019, 12:44:11 PM
This is new
How people get a TESTnet wallet and think that it is ok.

When dealing with crypto I think that most people just think "easy money, quick rich scheme" and act so careless...
When I bought my first bitcoin I read a ton of articles about which exchange to use, which wallet to use and so on..
9305  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC or USD Pairs? on: December 21, 2019, 10:31:58 PM

KYC?
Kyc = know your customer
They will ask for your documents.

Also, why do use the usd pair when cashing out? Is this because BTC is in a bear market?
Because to cash out you need to trade cryptoxusd.
Otherwise,  how will be able to get any usd from your bitcoins? There is no other way that I am aware of.
9306  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: BTC or USD Pairs? on: December 21, 2019, 08:56:44 PM
Usually most  altcoins have a bTC pair, while usd paid is only available to high volume coins.

I prefer to use usd pair only when I am  cashing out or cashing in.

Usually you can trade a BTC pair without kyc, and you need kyc to trade usd pair.
9307  Economy / Services / Re: >>> Pay $5 - 50 in BTC/ETH/PP now for answering 20 simple questions about crypto on: December 20, 2019, 10:45:05 PM
This looks an interesting campaign. I like to answer questions about crypto.  I didn't understand pay rates very well...
You can count me in. Tell me if I am accepted.

Suggestion: your questions are not technical,  they are repetitive  (where can I buy x? How to trade?)
They are not genuine questions from newbie cryptocurrency enthusiast  like: private keys, scalability,  fees, seed, wallet recovery, cold storage, etc, which are more practical.

(blockchain questions are better than cryptocurrency )
9308  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to stay private when using Android (protonmail blog) on: December 20, 2019, 07:23:44 PM
There is no private browsers on mobile as far as I know (I might miscatch something).

There are so many good privacy browsers for mobiles.
firefox for example has a mobile only privacy version called firefox focus.

You also have tor as mentioned above.
9309  Other / Beginners & Help / How to stay private when using Android (protonmail blog) on: December 20, 2019, 10:13:48 AM
I just found this article by protonmail with some tips on how to stay private on android
https://protonmail.com/blog/android-privacy/?pk_campaign=ww-en-mail-brd-end_year_comms2019&pk_source=backend-email&pk_medium=link&pk_content=android&pk_kwd=cta

I will make a quick summary:

Avoid Google data protection
Use a pin
Encrypt your device
Keep up to date
Use a VPN
Don't use Google search
Use a secure email provider
Don't share location with apps
Review default apps
Use a non Google version  of android

The basic principle: Turn everything off
In short: if you are not using a service right now, turn it off.

-snip-

Using Android privately

In closing, it’s also worth pointing out that, although Android is a risk to your privacy if you don’t lock it down correctly, smartphones per se are not evil.

In fact, if used correctly they can be extremely useful in securing other parts of your online life. The clearest example of this is two-factor authentication, in which a time-based code from a smartphone app is required in addition to your password to log in to your account. (Where possible, you should set up this kind of system for all of your online accounts.)

The trick to using a smartphone securely, as with any other device, is to take the time to find out how it actually works. That way, you can disable the data-collection and data-sharing “functions” that you don’t need.
9310  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Thinking of continuing my "a week to learn" topic with whitepapers on: December 20, 2019, 09:40:16 AM
I have read bitcoin whitepaper a lot of times, but I have never read lightning
Certainly it would be cool to read a 1 page version and then read the complete version (to have a better understanding, as usually those whitepaper are not easily digested)
9311  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Help me understand how to read the blockchain transaction history.. on: December 19, 2019, 10:11:39 PM
Are remaining BTC always sent to a new address after a transaction? i.e. the address always changes after every spend?

It is a best practice to always use a new address for every transaction.  However, there is no requirement to do so.  Therefore, there have been some wallets that the developers have chosen to send the remaining BTC back to the same address every time. I prefer NOT to use wallets that make such a lazy decision.

Additionally to the excellent explanation provided by DannyHamilton.

Using the same address doesn't consolidate your inputs. If you use a wallet which sends the change back to the original address you will have multiple inputs from the same address.
9312  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: sent my btc wrong on: December 19, 2019, 09:59:24 PM
OP is saying a lot of contradictory information.

First he said he wanted to send 2 k to the address.

Now, he says that it was only 0.025 (which is only 1/10 of the original value). And as pointed out by DannyHamilton, it was sent.

. . . im suppose to send to 0.02530726 . . . 32fmz1pdmo9XWyMAeNoniaNE94f9ubs6Ae this was the one i was going to send to

If that is true, then there is good news.
0.02530726 BTC WAS sent to 32fmz1pdmo9XWyMAeNoniaNE94f9ubs6Ae on 2019-12-19 at 11:12 UTC

There are no transactions of 2K USD neither of 0.025 bitcoins in the address he said he sent by mistake. Neither the transaction he mentioned makes any sense.
Even if he was using a custodial service, nobody would give him such a tx.

The OP might be completely lost and doesn't have any clue about what is going on, or he just invented this crazy history to beg for money.
9313  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Social media promotion on: December 19, 2019, 05:39:25 PM
I think one of the most popular are Cointelegraph or Coindesk, but advertisement there for sure is very expensive.

He is talking about social media promotion, not press releases.
He wants a Facebook/Twitter/Instagram account with thousands of followers, who would be able to bring more followers to his social media channels. It is another kind of advertisement.

Maybe even a every influential bitcointalk account could help him.
9314  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: sent my btc wrong on: December 19, 2019, 03:09:33 PM
dunderbaba, what wallet you use for this transaction? You say it is about $2000 which is about 0.28 BTC, but the total transaction is 12+ BTC worth over $80 000?

Coins are sent to 34FAsnsgURPQkcMoL41BzRufnUaStdZotT and after that, they move to 13 different addresses, but most still ended up on 3QT5hB8qmBBpEeKTie6Cr2bzvwABW4kEk6 (11.88791659 BTC) and then again moved to new addresses. Coin is still on the move, mixing with someone other coins, but it is evident that it is an attempt to hide the track.

34FAsnsgURPQkcMoL41BzRufnUaStdZotT->3QT5hB8qmBBpEeKTie6Cr2bzvwABW4kEk6

He looks to be using an exchange custodial wallet. Coinbase?

dunderbaba, maybe the transaction is reversible if you contact the support because it really looks like the transaction you made happened offchain (with the custodial service's wallet)

please tell us more details, how many BTC did you transfer? To which address you sent it?

32fmz1pdmo9XWyMAeNoniaNE94f9ubs6Ae received near 2k usd (1400) today.
9315  Economy / Reputation / Re: Roobet.com not paying on their mistakes on: December 19, 2019, 03:02:03 PM
This was never a bug. Some sites do allow you to place a bet over max profit and some don't. The system we had in place allowed you to place these bets
They knowingly allowed player to place bet, yahoo placed whole $300+. They accepted that bet. So how OP screwed them? He won?

The main problem is asymmetry.

If yahoo lost his bet, he would just lose ALL his money and the conditions of the bet would apply. However, if he won, he would not win the full price, so the bet conditions do not apply.

This is dishonest. You know the code wasn't properly designed and you let it run online anyway, hurting players money and balance (when users misclick or when they are newbies).
9316  Economy / Services / Re: LoyceV's Avatar for Rent [first 39 weeks rented out] on: December 19, 2019, 01:54:34 PM
I admire you so much LoyceV. It's just an avatar and the bonus payment is much significantly high. I got rejected by Foxup about two months ago to join the Foxup's Merit cycling club.  Cry

How do you apply for the Foxup cycling club?
I am cycling some merits, but I think I cycle in another circle as I don't see him much often Smiley
9317  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: OmniTrezor (USDT support) on: December 19, 2019, 01:49:21 PM
The wallet is open source and also listed in Trezor's coins list so it should be safe to use.

Omni tokens certainly should be compatible with Trezor, because they run on bitcoin blockchain (which is supported). You just need a wallet software to deal with it properly to be able to send your coins easily.

I found it interesting to see that this wallet is recommend by Trezor. They do not only listed the coin, but recommend OMNI Trezor as a wallet for USDT and other Omni tokens.
9318  Economy / Reputation / Re: Stealing signature design on: December 19, 2019, 11:11:56 AM
It's unethical, it's tantamount to plagiarism and anyone doing this should be ban, if we let this happens then every developer will just copy other project's works, we must not support from that are doing this and people who does this should be tagged.

What is more absurd is that cryptotalk signature barely have a design. It is mostly composed by big letters without any art, just with fancy colors.

He could at least change the colors, nobody would accuse him,.
9319  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Be Careful to Write on: December 19, 2019, 10:28:46 AM
Any website related to cryptocurrency or any kind of money should be double checked. Try to find their social media pages (Twitter, Facebook, Reddit, Medium, etc) to confirm you are on the official website. You can find press releases on famous news websites with links to their official websites also.

eklectrum is so obvious phising and  your friend was careless...
9320  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Merit - simple poll on operational fundamentals on: December 18, 2019, 07:48:50 PM
Sadly few people are participating the pool.
I think that the forum could be clearer about what happens when you merit someone. When I merited my first post I was really affraid to lose my hard earned merits.

Maybe instead of +Merit button it could be +sMerit?

(even from Legendary accounts)

When I joined this forum I was dealing with cryptocurrency for about 6 months. However, I invested my money in it and I studied a lot of bitcoin before investing my hard earned money into it. So I joined this forum with the basic technical knowledge.

I was impressed to see how many legendary accounts, with 3+ years dealing with cryptocurrency and spamming all over the forum, had no clue about what was bitcoin, what is a private key, how to secure a wallet... Recently I saw a legendary who didn't know what is a Seed.

Doesn't surprise me to see that legendary accounts doesn't even know what a merit is.
