Does anyone have the autostart script? (masternode)
I have a rebel VPS lol

Hi, found this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg12233642#msg12233642

basically make a script and have it run via cron. Works great and keeps your masternode online Smiley
Thanks! I use this script, but sometimes doesnt work :/

In that case, dashwhale has an option to restart a masternode if it is detected faulty, although I do not use it myself. I rely solely on cron restarting my masternode if something is borked and so far it's worked just great Wink

daohub.us daohub.biz and daohub.us up for grabs .  should i auction them off on godaddy ?

Are you selling dauhub.us twice?  Roll Eyes

thanks for catching it . actually i just got them for the fun of it .   im not going to use them . i will sell them on an auction though .  was going to setup sites promoting the idea .  daohub.us (forum)  daohub.biz(selling and purchasing products)  daohub i was just going to give the dao for a small amount so he can use it for mobile devices .  i love eth . i have to read up more on the dao concept though .

Maybe you should try setting something up on those domains, if you have a working platform going it would auction off for more.
963  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ETH is breaking out again! on: May 18, 2016, 11:06:08 AM
Oh man, I actually waited for ETH to reach $5 to stake up and to get in the Eth boad again. But it seems now the bear market stopped at around $7.20. Are there any reasons, why Ether is pumping so strong again? Can not really find an appropriate reason, except the DAOHub ICO, what could not be the only reason in my opinion.

Well, there are currently 11 million eth tied up to the DAO right now. That alone is a whole bunch of tokens removed from the market. People seem to be running, afraid of missing out, and throwing all eth they can into the DAO pot. As more and more people are FOMO, it would look like investors are trying to get eth at any price.

Nice to see the climb to 14 USD, currently at Polo.

hello guys, been out of the mining scene since august but looks like gpu mining is once again profitable !

i still have 6 x 290's + 2 x 7900 + 3 x 6900's

does anybody know where to start ? any mining software + a pool recommendation would be greatly appreciated !

I have a small amount of hashing going on here: http://dwarfpool.com/eth
Get your miners going and once things are stable you can try tweaking a bit and also setup a local proxy for a bit more speed. My advise though, is to get things going so you have a stable base point before going on.

do you have any reference that tells how much mh/s i can get from my hardware and how to configure them correctly ?

i already started mining with a couple of 290s just to try it out, getting around 47 mh/s without tweaking any settings, is that okay for a 2 290s ?

i'm also mining on dwarf pool, man i feel so rusty haven't mined in ages now !

also what do you mean by setting up a proxy ?

I have two 290s getting around 50-something MH/s so that sounds good to me.
What I wrote earlier, once you have got things up and running, check the tweak that are published on the dwarfpool site. There is also a proxy that you can run for a 10-20% speed boost. it's trivial to setup, just read carefully through the instructions and change the defaults to suite your needs. Eg, change eth address, ip, ports etc. Otherwise, tweak some settings for your cards and see what they give in terms of performance. But each card normally gives about 25 MH/s or so.

With Blockstream's current Thunder and future Lightning networks, should Dash be worried?

http://dashpaymagazine.com/index.php/2016/05/17/lightning-thunder-dash-worried/

An article by Dash's TanteStefana.

Ugh, that still needs a lot of clean-up.  I did another version, can anyone replace this older version with a cleaned up version?

I don't know which version I read, but I liked the article! Great comparison between thunder and the masternode backend of Dash. Thanks a lot for taking the time to write the page TanteStefana!
968  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: May 18, 2016, 07:09:55 AM
WTF? Yobit Lisk volume just spiked from $200 to $21,000. And price is up 95%. Launch is going to be CRAZY!

Do we know about any official exchanges for launch yet, or is it all speculation at this point?
Well so far c-cex but a lot of people including myself are pushing Lisk hard to get on Poloniex at launch by sending them a coin request. I hope it works!  Smiley
Let's hope so! I like Polo, and would much rather trade there than some of the other smaller exchanges. Thanks for the answer mate!

970  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can you trust stuff like Hashocean? on: May 18, 2016, 06:54:02 AM
"Investing" in sites like Hashocean is just like gambling, you might make back your money if more suckers are lured in and can help pay your initial investing. Sites that pay out 1% of your investment on a daily basis is not a proof of any mining. They are most likely running some kind of fractional BTC scam, collecting funds and one day *poof*
971  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: May 18, 2016, 06:09:51 AM
Still quite a bit of BTC flowing in to the funding, but it looks like the calm moment before the end rush right now. Also, getting close to 0.05 USD per Wave token. Smiley

Wow this sounds amazing, i paticullarly liked the "better than visa scale" comment.  more than a 100000 TPS  Shocked
This seems like a bit 'overkill'. Bitcoin is far away from needing 100 000 TPS. I'd be very satisfied if we had a capacity of 1000 TPS at the moment as there would never be some kind of backlog due to inadequate amount of space (unless there was some kind of attack) for quite some time.

I believe this could potentially open doors to new avenues of attack that wouldn't be possible on the main blockchain.
There might be attack vectors for the off-chain system, but that is rather unavoidable. However, I'm certain that those will be discovered and prevented on time (or at least most of them).

I'll obviously have to read more and maybe try this out soon, but it was my understanding that the speed of 100 000 TPS was more based on available nodes? With fewer nodes, fewer transactions? If that is the case then this technology seems pretty scalable to whatever is required by the network.

Newbie friendly and informative little clip. The distributed ledger is protected by asics rather than computers, but for explaining something as complex as the Blockchain for non techies, it's fine!
975  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Alienware for bitcoin mining on: May 17, 2016, 09:32:22 AM
As these folks suggest, CPU and GPU mining are not profitable at all.
However, I am using my laptop for daily basis, and I have been running this software in the background called BitCoin Miner (Win 8 or 10).
I am getting ~27KH/s, about 4k satoshi a day. You can give that a shot just for fun.

I get it that it's just for fun. But I'm guessing that you are spending more like 400K satoshi in electricity to get those 4k satoshi BTC?
Instead I would look into another altcoin miner if you are just using it for fun. You will have higher payouts and exchange them for some mbit down the road.

i guess in this project, because of the bad security, before the start all or some of the waves will be hacked and stolen and alot of people will not get their waves at the end.

i didnt read that the waves are hold in a multisignature wallet or something. so good luck with that and remember my words, there will be a hack and all the waves will be gone.

dont invest in that coin, its too dangerous.

guys do you think lisk and waves would be the same price? I have around 5K dollar to invest mybe in the future more  dont know yet , say around 5 or 6 BTC, what you would suggest to me to invest all in waves or just  get half into lisk too! What would you do  if you had 5 BTC to invest!
Thank for any advice!

You really do like the whole Waves project don't you? Make less people invest so more Waves tokens for you!
Searched and found this info: the funds are being held in a 2/3 multisig solution using the Coinbase Vault. The raised funds will be sent every 15 minutes with a script to the following BTC address.
You can check the amount of escrowed funds in real time here: https://blockexplorer.com/address/3DWBSSAue32YS8PcW2gLs6m52BCCv3UgDA
977  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: VPS users, help me (specially if you are Interserver user) on: May 17, 2016, 07:41:10 AM
I purchased a VPS from Interserver, but when I want to connect via VNC viewer I obtain this message

"The connection was refused by the host computer" (not original message, just translated from spanish lol)

Any help?

Maybe you have tried this already, from their support page: https://www.interserver.net/tips/kb/how-to-remote-desktop-to-vps/

I only use digital ocean and ssh (linux vps) so I can't offer any more help with Interserver. Just thought I'd post a link if you still haven't been able to log in properly. By using VNC I assumed you are using a Windows VPS?
978  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DASH] Dash (dash.org) | First Self-Funding Self-Governing Crypto Currency on: May 17, 2016, 06:56:58 AM
Anybody notice all the commotion on dash forums? Seems like we got quite a few upset individuals about the DGBB system. Trying to get a better idea of what's going on if anybody has any insights.
Well, here is the short version. There was an incident on the Public Dash Slack channel that caused me and a few others to bring a conversation on DashTalk about where everyone in our organization stands. What are the roles of the core team, masternodes, professional contributors and community?

It got pretty heated at times with some people questioning the other's motives unnecessarily, but despite personal attacks, the thread actually became quite useful and helpful with everyone more willing to consider other's perspectives. We reached a consensus and clarification on people's roles in Dash.

But, just when that thread was winding down, someone took it a step further, starting a new thread calling for new direction and leadership. He is not getting much support for his plan, for obvious reasons, such as the success of Dash thus far.

So, that's where we are now.

Hadn't read up on the news, thanks for the summery Tao!

Asking for investing advice on btctalk isn't the best of ideas Wink Always diversify if you can and never invest more than you are prepared to lose.

Waves is looking great at the moment, so does theDAO, ethereum, Lisk might be a good option once they launch. Rather than putting all money in any asset, read up on what makes something good, the risks, roadmaps and planned development milestones. Nothing of this is new, but I understand that it can be hard to see through all the crazy hyping going on in every thread. People wanting free internet monies raving on about 100x-1000x profits at launch.

So, read up and read more before investing any funds. There is still time for most ICOs, and you can always go to an exchange and buy tokens there if you like.

One dollar lisk. Will it happen? Or are we doomed?

Doomed in the sense that Lisk might only reach one dollar? Wink
