Simply put the coin you're looking for and "bitcointalk" into Google. Evan is already ignoring market cap in favor of doing what needs to be done. He's not in it for the money, though he may reap, and deserve, a great reward for his work.
MNs allow DRK to do ALL of the stuff that is just piecemeal in other coins. There are many good ideas out in shitcoin land. But, the problem is that they are just individual ideas propped up on a pump and dump. DRK can combine those ideas instead of just do one thing that isn't at all useful by itself. A decentralized exchange is a good idea. But on it's own, totally useless. It is a shitcoin, but it has a good idea. DRK can take that good idea and put it with other good ideas to actually DO SOMETHING USEFUL.
DRK is for people tuned into reality; there aren't many of these. Mass adoption is not a problem of getting the word out. It's a problem of doing so being a waste of time. This is the root concept of my personal rant blog. It is only productive to sow your seeds on fertile ground; but there is no fertile ground. We sow our seeds in a sandy desert with no nutrients or water. We do this not because we are fools, but because there is nowhere else to sow them...
Yes I like how Evan focus' on development and not marketing. Marketing can come later when more fundamentals are in place... A rare attitude in Crypto and it's why this project has such a loyal following... My thoughts exactly... |

I think the Bitshares price bump has something to do with them nearly having their decentralized exchange ready to roll out. Good project check it out if you have the time.
Can you hit me up with a few links? I do not have so much time on my hands to be looking around for them. Are they going to open source it? If it's good then it can be implemented in a lot of places. There was always a need for a decentralized exchange even for Bitcoin and Darkcoin obviously. That's the main BitsharesX forum. A decentralised exchange is all very well but nobody outside of the existing crypto community gives a flying fuck. MasterNet on the other hand - a global decentralised unDDOSable VPN and hosting platform with integrated automatic anonymity... there's real money in that.  I'm wondering if this is really true... Pardon me for playing Devil's Advocate... I'm wondering if DRK does more than people can understand. Single-feature shitcoins are easy to grasp, even if utility is marginal or moot. LTC is still massive, and with absolutely no reason remaining from it's original feature set. I don't think people can understand waht DRK an MN Services can do for them. They look at it with a deer-in-the-headlights stare having no idea at all why it's needed. Or worse, understanding just barely enough about DRK, but not understanding the evil forces at work in the world, and referring to DRK as a solution in search of a problem. I think people are unaware as well. They see the price and think it is "high" (in relation to other ALTs) and dismiss it due to "missing the bus". However, if they actually grasped the entire picture and what DRK is and will be, I think they would see it is cheap right now. Disclaimer: I say this from the point of view of someone who reads other threads, researches a lot of ALTs, and invests in coins worthy of my money (just DRK right now). I can sleep comfortably knowing my BTC is in DRK, hard to say for many other coins. I'm speaking from a utility viewpoint, not a trader viewpoint. People don't understand what DRK is. People don't understand what MNs can do for them and why it's worth paying a tiny amount of money for. People don't believe what the government and ISPs are doing to spy on them and control them. They write it off as tinfoil hat, when the stuff we called people crazy for back in the 60s and 70s is not only come to pass, but small time compared to what is actually being done right this moment. Even if they did understand, they're barely capable of turning their computers on, much less taking charge of their own lives... The existing establishment is going to throw untold amounts of money at a media blitzkrieg for many years to come, it's gonna get really ugly before it gets better for Crypto, but as Alex said, 75% of the world is without banking and developed infrastructure, we have to ride Google's wave of getting cheap smartphones into the hands of the masses to show all their ads, and just make sure we have a super light and secure Darkcoin app running in the background There's already an Android wallet. It's on Play. If anyone hasn't used it yet, take it for a spin, tell the dev you like it, send him half a DRK... to work with DS+ AFAICT he just needs to update to the latest daemon and launch it with darksend enabled, rounds set to 2, and a new anonymised balance widget on screen. Development Update - August 19, 2014Bug squashing and the stability of DarksendDuring the last week we’ve been squashing bugs in the RC4 client and getting everything as stable as possible. As of the last update, it’s working for nearly everyone and humming along. The next 3-6 weeks will be spent creating the RC5 client which will have a few minor updates including some known issues resolved along with a basic gui that shows the current status of Darksend. Also, we’ll be working on improving the Darksend source code and getting it ready for other programmers to help out. It needs heavy commenting and some basic refactoring. Kristov Atlas and the code/security reviewKristov is preparing deliverables for both the strength of anonymity and the code security of Darksend. Expect this to be released while work on RC5 is ongoing. Depending on what Kristov has found, this could delay RC5 so that we can fix important issues. As it currently stands, that doesn’t appear to be a concern. EnforcementDue to the delayed release of RC4, enforcement of masternode payments was not able to be extensively tested. We plan on beginning testing this feature soon. If possible, it will be turned on in mainnet before the launch of RC5. Open Sourcing RC5 should be solid for open sourcing. We’ll have someone else look the source over, then we’ll be open-sourcing soon after. While this is ongoing, we’ll start work on our next project. Utilizing the Masternode network - DarkTorOne of the future goals is to turn the masternode network into a decentralized business for masternode operators. To do this we’ll add features that improve the privacy of end users and compete with centralized businesses. Our first endeavor into this is to make a completely private tor network within Darkcoin. The Darkcoin network will begin to offer anonymous internet access via the masternode network. As a user, all you’ll have to do is pay a fee for 24 hours of access. This fee will be paid to a masternode in much the same way the masternode fees are paid, using a deterministic algorithm for distributing the payments evenly across the whole network. There’s a few benefits to running a private tor network through Darkcoin. Sybil resistant - Due to the cost of obtaining masternodes, it will be very difficult for any one person to view all traffic. Anonymous Payments - Users can pay anonymously for the service Private Network - Our tor network will be internal to darkcoin only. All traffic will be paid traffic, so the cost of running the service should be profitable for the masternode operators. Faster than tor - Tor has historically been very slow. This will be a lean version, that has much higher throughput. As for the cost of the service we’re thinking $0.50 per day or something to that effect. We’re still working on the details how this will function and this isn’t a feature that we’re absolutely set on. We’re very interested to get the community’s response to see if it’s viable . Rocket.ship. The SS DRK has liftoff. "W" bottom ( http://thepatternsite.com/bigw.html) on every timeframe 2 hours and below. Daily timeframe needs a break above .01 with higher volume than what we say yesterday to confirm that we're now in an uptrend. Everything I see points to the lower-.008 region as next target because there's little to no resistance here immediately above us, this is all momentum movements. Support at .005; don't break that or .0045 because that would suck. Overall, this is all fine and dandy, but DRK needs to break .01 to really make this thing look peachy again. JL Mid-Upper-.008 hit; wow. Your move now, DRK. I'm taking some off the table though. If it breaks .01 I may regret that. Overall though this kind of rate of increase ain't sustainable much longer. Sure it is. Its correcting itself from the past weeks of price manipulation and poor market conditions. It could go back to where it was before at 0.020 easy. Yeah and remember 0.020 isn't worth as much as it was back then since bitcoin is down a bit so not that surprising if we see it. We'll see what happens in the next 12 hours. Seems like the biggest changes happen around 2am my time so about 8 hours from now. Thats usually when the action begins. I would love to see 0.020 to 0.030 in the next 30 days wow bro....slow down on that! I for one would rather see a slow steady growth based on coin progress.... 30 days to 0.03 would be someone or group doing crazy pumping...in which case it will have to crash. no thanks...slow but steady wins the race! |
