981  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: May 16, 2016, 08:29:19 PM

Even Vitalik is riding the WAVES!  Cool

Just shaking hands does not mean that their cooperating or anything. However it's nice to see two important characters in the cryptosphere in the same photo! Things are starting to shape up for Waves, and seeing Vitalik and Sasha brings more confidence in us who have participated in the crowdsale Smiley I'll might have to consider buying some more waves while I still can Wink
982  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dash aiming for new all time highs on: May 16, 2016, 01:22:29 PM
DASH/BTC on log scale looking very healthy for Dash to have another leg upwards

Main thing I'm looking at it is the wedge formed by two trendlines which has broken upwards. I like that the lower upwards sloping trendline is providing support multiple times. Other supporting evidence is bullish cross up on MACD indicator and that RSI is not yet showing overbought.

But the main reason its going up is that I just sold a bunch the other day :/

That always seems to be the case whenever I decide to sell some tokens as well Smiley
Also, people like to setup new masternodes. They are happier when they work together than being all alone.
983  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: May 16, 2016, 01:18:42 PM
Very excited to be able to dump Waves soon. Oh yeah

fixed for most peoples actions.  Grin

Not saying anything about user prettybuds, but I would think that most people might consider selling of a bit to spread the risk or to gain a little profit if the price starts to go up. Solely dumping for the sake of it might not be the best of moves as the platform is brand new. Too early to say what will happen with the value in 6-12-24 months time.

That said, I think I'll be holding on to my Waves Smiley
984  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: May 16, 2016, 09:16:35 AM
Waves doing great so far! Will invest more BTC near end of ICO.  Cheesy

The growth is steady with the expected spikes prior to each bonus reduction. It will be interesting to see whatever happens as we get closer to the end of the ICO. From the looks and feeling of the matter, new people are coming to Waves every day. Maybe more buzz with more partner announcements, tech paper release or other news will bring even more investors to the project. 15K BTC seems within reach with two weeks left of the investing period.
985  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: May 15, 2016, 08:43:36 AM
Joining the sig campaign. Hope I am not too late.

There's still time mate, keep it up with 50 good posts and help promote Waves! Good luck!
986  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][slock.it][Crowdfund][DAO] IoT meets blockchain on: May 13, 2016, 09:42:48 PM

The second picture shows the DAO wallet balance, a huge 5.6 million ether.

I'm looking at the 110 figure below the big 5.6 million figure in my second picture. 300 +110 = 410. But I have no idea what it means.

So.. I took a look at home, and I only have each transaction listed, incoming and outgoing. I'm running Mist 0.7.3 on OSX, but I can't imagine that the OS should matter.
I don't have any extra fields with transactions like the "extra" 110 eth. I'm quite puzzled as to why that transaction is showing in the list. Maybe asking the https://forum.ethereum.org/categories/mist Mist forum if they can explain further?
987  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: May 13, 2016, 11:44:09 AM
.......

Does this mean the remaining balance in my wallet at the end of ICO is what i will have?

Yes, once the funding ends, the assets are distributed to all who participated. Your balance is what gets paid to you.

Edit: Also check this google doc that user bobo81 has made, https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1-G1LMDjAX9roVJDuhVewGG_pykSLIprWAElwO-6TcRA/edit?pref=2&pli=1#gid=0
Here you see the amount invested and what each wave token is currently valued. You see that for every BTC invested, the amount of wave tokens for every user decreases, but their value goes up.
988  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: ETH mining qtminer doesn't work right on: May 13, 2016, 08:03:37 AM
I installed the official ethminer now and started it with your data - but it can't connect to the server.. don't ask me why. I tried both. The us and the eu one.

ethminer
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
ethminer.exe -F http://eu1.nanopool.org:8888/0x72_0xD5B1C0b4a418F512D37645F57c0Cba6D44bAdaA0 -G -t 4

0x72_0xD5B1C0b4a418F512D37645F57c0Cba6D44bAdaA0 isn't your adress, it's 0xD5B1C0b4a418F512D37645F57c0Cba6D44bAdaA0. So just remove the red part and it should be working...
I paste  ithat example maybe to fast  Grin

lol Smiley
He should have seen it... Smiley

Wouldn't be the first time people just copy&paste without looking at what they are copying Wink
989  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][slock.it][Crowdfund][DAO] IoT meets blockchain on: May 13, 2016, 06:24:37 AM
Oh I see now what you are referring to. I can't really say, but do you have several eth accounts in your Mist wallet or just the "Main Account Etherbase)?
Again I need to check at home, can't really say much at the moment.
990  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][slock.it][Crowdfund][DAO] IoT meets blockchain on: May 13, 2016, 06:17:35 AM
I'm totally confused. I only bought 300 DAO with my new mist wallet and see three different figure in 3 different places??

The "main account" is yours. The second picture shows the DAO wallet balance, a huge 5.6 million ether.
Not sure about the third picture, but the address looks like the DAO wallet.

I am not around my Mist wallet so I can't check and help more right now. Maybe some other Mist user can take a look.
991  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: May 12, 2016, 09:06:44 PM

the question is what happens if WAVE hits the markets at 50% of the ICO price.

Exactly. As I watch my proportion of waves shrink every day, I imagine more and more fomo investors climbing on board the gravy train. This ICO is lasting too long. How impatient will the investors be when trading finally starts? Then people will realize: waves is vaporware and won't be mass marketable for years.
These are also my concerns. I don't want to spread FUD, quite to the contrary. I simply ask this question loud, trying to ignite a discussion what the others think about such scenario. I know there will be fan boys coming at me en masse, screaming that this is not possible, but I accept to pay this price.
Counter question: Give me an explanation to why this should/could happen?

For me it wouldn't matter at all. I am in because of the long-term potential of the project. If the price rises in the short-term it's nice, if not I will start buying low  Wink
Easy. People who acquired many coins and want to get more would push the price down to create panic selling in order to get more coins at cheaper prices. Many ICOs have seen that.

What's the point for people who acquired many coins to push the price down (read- to reduce his wealth) and risking that the price will not recover and he will loose everything?

Sure, that's the risk in short selling. But the big dumper hopes to create a panic sell. The big whale starts with 100 tokens, dumps them, hopes others will follow, and buys back cheaper coins and has a new total of 125 tokens. If the price picks up again, well the whale just made a 25% bonus. It happens all the time on the big exchanges. There is no guarantee of the price going up or that others will start selling, so that is the risk involved with this kind of shorting.
Wouldn't the whale dump way more than that? Like 10k tokens to cause a panic sell?

Yes of course, maybe even more like 100K waves, possibly multiple times to really create a havoc. I used small numbers just to try and explain the point in short sellng, that's all. You are right that 100 token units wouldn't make any difference what so ever.

I'd be interested to see where all the BTC invested came from by country?  Any way to check that?

Without knowing, I would assume that the representation would be proportional to the use of BTC throughout the world. Mainly the USA and EU, along with Russia, China, Japan, Brazil etc.
Coinmap gives a good picture, but this of course says nothing about who has participated in the Waves ICO. Maybe the Waves team could show these stats after the ICO.

994  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][slock.it][Crowdfund][DAO] IoT meets blockchain on: May 12, 2016, 12:38:25 PM
bitbitch and TraderBill, both of your ideas seem plausible. Of course the rush to participate in the DAO is driving up the price of ether. It does seem likely that the price of ether would go down once the buying pressure reduces.

At the same time it will be interesting to see what happens once the DAO starts funding slock.it and other projects. Say that the DAO "invests" 1 million dollars worth of ether, they'll need to cash out that to a local fiat currency at some point, unless developers, team management, contractors etc all except ether. Dumping that on an exchange would really push down the price.
995  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][slock.it][Crowdfund][DAO] IoT meets blockchain on: May 12, 2016, 10:01:51 AM
I thought 30+ Million USD was a huge success for the DAO. Checked in again today and it's over 48(!) million USD. That's one heck of a DAO funding venture platform!
Besides slock.it and Mobotiq, are there any other proposals that are available to start reading? More to be presented after the launch in 2 weeks?
996  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: May 12, 2016, 07:35:40 AM
there was a rumor that developers gonna place a buying wall at the very start of trading waves. How big'll be this wall? And how long will it exist (one day? one week? month?) If they will see that there is not enough buying power, will they dismiss it?

Was the rumour by any chance started by you?  Stop spreading bullshit.  If you have don't have the balls to buy into the ICO don't buy it.  Otherwise grow up and don't expect the world to catch you if you screw up.

Actually, I've spent nearly 31 btc and now got ~ 300k waves, so I'm not sure what are you talking about balls etc. You better to check Russian thread where Sasha35625 is saying that there will be a buying wall.

here is the quote:

Подождите, а разве не обещали часть собранных миллионов потратить на могучую бай стену? По цене не меньше предпродажной?

Где была такая инфа?
будет стена, да.

Translation:

-wait a second wasn't there a mighty buying wall? with the price not less than the ico price?
- Where the information was submitted?
- sasha: The wall will be placed, yes

If there is need for this ICO funds will be used to maintain buy walls.

Hmm OK, but what is to prevent the Waves funds from depleting, should everyone and their dog get cold feet and want to sell/withdraw the instant wave tokens are available on an exchange? We all remember the clusterfuck Paycoin that went out with a 20$ floor, but that lasted only a short while while everyone threw their coins at it.

If people want to sell instantly they will do it this way or another. If there is a need buy walls will appear, about what floor you are talking about lol ? If we think buy walls are needed at some point we will just add them. There is no specific amount or anything else planned for this as of now. We are still pretty much in ICO phase for 20 days more with unknown price and uknown final BTC amount.

why the hel people would sell at a lower price than ICO price?

Mm...do you know what the panic mode is? when you see that your new imaginary lambo is desperately polymorphing into huge losses? and you want to cut them and to loose only 50% not 100%.

Large holders could short, creating a panic among the weaker holders who might freak out and panic sell, all while the large whale folks scope up cheaper tokens and get more Waves. In the end the whales get more waves and the smaller fish lose out.

I was picturing the same scenario as when Paycoin launched, Garza et al. tried to establish a floor price and raised a larger buy wall once the coins where released on an exchange. The "plan" failed and the value for each coin plummeted as there was no buy support. I hope that we are not trying to achieve the same here? Buy walls are  great but they need to be used wisely. I am fully confident in how the project has been run and maintained up to now, so I have no doubts that if any walls are considered and needed that they will be setup to help Waves in the best of ways.

Does anyone have the autostart script? (masternode)
I have a rebel VPS lol

Hi, found this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=421615.msg12233642#msg12233642

basically make a script and have it run via cron. Works great and keeps your masternode online Smiley

Community asking for launch on september.
It's a great idead. Better launch, dapps ready for september.
Dev,please, launch on september

Perhaps I have not been following the Lisk development as close as I should, but why is this delayed news for September being voiced? Sure the team could wait another year or two for making an even better platform, but it's better to get something out the door and update often. Compare this with Linux and Microsoft. Update often, fix bugs and add more features, release and repeat again (as for Linux). Rather than the Microsoft model where they make a release, then work again for the next release 2-3 years later.
