What site ranking is this in the first place? I just want to know. I doubt it for the GSW this time around it looks like they won't gonna make it. These days it keeps getting unpredictable on who's gonna win the NBA championship, and, when the playoffs come that's when the most unpredictable thing happens.

I do not know where you are basing that comment, but GSW still looks solid even with their poor start this season. They are 19-18, which is above 500. They are currently on a 4 winning streak and 5-5 on their last 10. All that was done without Curry and Wiggins. They are currently ranked #9 which is still okay since they still have 45 games to play. Last year, I think, they finished 5th in the West and were still able to take home the Championship. As long as they are able to get into the playoffs, they still have a good chance of winning the chip. They are a different beast in the playoffs, especially if they are all healthy.

This is the cause of the trouble, like yeah Warriors won last year, but have you seen what they are paying to their players? They have no room for one more good player and that means if someone gets bad (draymond for example) then they have to keep him on the books for a long time. Which causes them to be amazing at first, but then start to go worse and worse.

Those are homegrown talents getting on to their prime. They need to get paid, or they will take their talents somewhere else. Draymond is maybe on the decline right now, but he is still a vital piece on their original core. He helped the Warriors get the 4 chips in the last decade, 6 finals appearances, and help make GSW from a million-dollar team to a billion-dollar organization.
982  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you guys bet on sports or casinos more? on: January 02, 2023, 09:06:03 PM
I'm curious as to what the ratio is for users on this forum in terms of sports vs casino betting.

I bet on casino games before, but I do not have good luck betting on casino games. It is just either break-even or a loss for me.

I bet mostly on sports now. I find it more profitable to bet on sports, especially on sports that I follow regularly like basketball and boxing.

I am planning to put 3-6 BTC on Novak Djokovic to win the 2023 Australian Open.
I just need to find a trustworthy sportsbook who will not only accept the bet but pay me too.

That is a big amount, good luck with your bet. I use Stake in making sports bet and I do not have problems withdrawing from them. I do not know if they will have Australian Open, but you can check the link on my signature.
983  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: January 02, 2023, 08:56:20 AM
Jordan Poole has the talent but he is not as clutch as Curry and Thompson, the splash brothers really are the reasons of the success of the Warriors. Poole getting added as a talent, he can be a good 2nd unit so they will not run out of offense. Once Curry will come back, no way Poole will be able to get his numbers now as the offense will be focus back to Curry.

Poole is not yet on that point, but I know soon, he will be named as one of the clutch players too. It's just that Curry and Thompson are the ones who are in the spotlight for now because they are the ones who are much reliable when it comes to clutch shots. I'm just glad that he's stepping up in the games and helping the team bring a win in the times that they needed it the most while Curry is not yet around and Thompson is not that consistent as well.

When Curry steps back into the court, Jordan Poole will relegate back to his old position. Curry will be the first option and Jordan Poole will be third or fourth but that should transition in the future since Jordan Poole is the young core. If they are to train and raise Jordan Poole right, they have to relegate some clutch moments to him in order to develop him more. He also needs to develop his leadership which the team will need when the current core retires.

The Nuggets are for real, they beat the Celtics at home with a big margin.

They have taken the Celtics out of their comfort zone. They limited their 3 points and exposed their defense. The Celtics were just able to make 9 out of 33 shots behind the arc. That is quite a poor performance for a team that is so good in making 3s.
984  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: January 02, 2023, 07:49:06 AM
As for my other bet, Celtics can still catch up and convert it to a win. Jokic has been putting a lot of work to bury the lead even further, with Porter and Hyland on the assist both with 17 points as of this writing. Tatum and Brown has been missing a lot of threes tonight that it didn't feel like they're on their form. Anyway, the game is stopped for some reason and hopefully they get the rest they needed and come back to win the game (Celtics).

Sorry for both of us, we lost that bet. The Nuggets won, 123-111. They never got close. The Nuggets were able to shut down the three-point shots of the Celtics.

That bet broke my parlay, but I enjoyed watching it anyway. The alley-oops from Jokic to Gordon is exciting to watch.

I really think the Bucks have given this game to the Washington Wizards without Giannis Antetokounmpo the Milwaukee Bucks don't stand a chance against the Wizards, I think they have let Giannis Antetokounmpo rest this one and are still number 3 in the east and there are a lot of crucial games they can play I think they are just using that opportunity and playing it wisely in using this time to let Giannis Antetokounmpo rest for his Knee to recuperate and not sustain much damage,

3 of the best players of the Bucks are out of that game. The Wizards are basically playing against the role players of the Bucks. The Bucks don't stand a chance against them. Giannis now is on a day-to-day basis, and we may not see him play for a few more days. They will play against the wizards again in a few days. Let's see if Giannis will be back and if the Bucks can bounce back.

Here is my bet for tonight:

Memphis Grizzlies vs Sacramento Kings

Sacramento Kings (19-15) will visit the Memphis Grizzlies (22-13) tonight at FedExForum. The Sacramento Kings are trying to extend their 2-game winning streak against the Memphis Grizzlies. They have won against the Utah Jazz last Friday. Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies are also trying to extend their winning streak. They are 6-4 in their last 10 games.

Key injuries for Kings: Malik Monk (wrist) questionable

Denver Nuggets vs Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics (26-10) will visit the Denver Nuggets (23-12) at Ball Arena tonight. The Boston Celtics will try to extend their winning streak to 5 going into the game against the Denver Nuggets. The Nuggets, who are top of the Western Conference, are 8-2 in their last 10 games. They beat the Heat and covered the 4-point spread last Friday.

Nuggets key injuries: Bruce Brown (ankle) probable, Aaron Gordon (shoulder) probable, Jammal Murray (knee) questionable

986  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting strategy question on: January 01, 2023, 11:39:39 PM
1 - will you take that bet?
2 - if so, what % of your available funds would you put at stake (i.e. funds you're willing to gamble and afford to lose)?

I will definitely take this bet. A 17% chance of winning is already big enough for x12 profit. I bet on the lottery on a daily basis, and it is a way smaller chance of winning it. It is just a one-time deal, so I am willing to put in all available gambling funds that I have. Funds can be earned again, but this opportunity comes only once.

The same here. As much as I understand the appeal of lotteries and why people play them, but for me it's all about the odds (maybe with the exception of some charitable lotteries/raffles with funds going to a good cause).

I think gamblers bet on something because they are feeling lucky rather than having better odds. Of course, for a regular bettor, it will always be luck + good odds.
987  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ESports betting -CS:GO, DOTA 2, LOL, Valorant - Sportsbet.io discussion thread on: January 01, 2023, 02:05:10 PM
There was an article earlier in the month on bloomberg concerning the esports investors drying up due to their sponsorships going a rye, then the whole thing with the exchange funding going belly up all at once:
https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2022-12-08/the-hype-around-esports-is-fading-as-investors-and-sponsors-flee
EG disbanding in North America and moving it's operations to South America was the first step.
There were some other teams in the Dota2 chapter that have had to disband due to the lack of funding.
Yes as what I am seeing, Dota shows the game that has the highest prize among all other esports, that's why we often see some teams disbanded or selling their rights to other team, we can say that salary of an esport player is too high as well, maybe because DOTA is the first known lan game and free to play. Last time, I heard some team looking for sponsors for them to support players salary and other benefits.

It will be hard to survive as a team without any sponsors. Unless you are consistently winning tournaments, it will be very hard to even just to sustain the payment of the players. The average salary of professional DOTA players is from 10 to 15K per month. Really top players can get up to 35K per month. Without sponsors, teams will not be able to keep their players. So if a team is not performing well, team owners choose to sell their rights to other team owners.

Lost my bet for Los Angeles Clippers.

Here is my bet for the remaining games:

Memphis Grizzlies vs New Orleans Pelicans @ 3.05

The New Orleans Pelicans (23-12) will visit the Memphis Grizzlies (21-13) tonight at FedExForum. The Pelicans are coming from a big win against the Philadelphia 76ers 127-116. The Grizzlies are coming from a win against the Toronto Raptors, 119-106.

Utah Jazz @ 1.59 vs Miami Heat

The Miami Heat (18-18) will visit the Utah Jazz (19-19) tonight at Vivint Arena. The Heat lost first game of their road trip against the Denver Nuggets, 124-119. The Jazz is returning home after their winless road trip. They lost against the Sacramento Kings (126-125) last Friday night covering the 3.5 underdog spread.

Heat key injuries: Dewayne Dedmon (foot) questionable, Caleb Martin (ankle) questionable, Omer Yurtseven (ankle) out

989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 31, 2022, 05:16:04 PM

They have solid young rooster already so hopefully their management will not think about trading them since for sure there's a lot of potential for them to get more better each year. And Zion need to take care of his weight since if he really want to stay on the league for long term he needs to get manageable weight so that he will not get hit by a serious injury that can possibly ruin his career.

His weight is okay, that's where he is very effective, if that's an issue, then it's easy for Zion to reduce his weight because they have all the trainers to make it possible at a soonest time. Injury is the problem of Zion, but as he learn to manage himself well on the floor, things will be brighter for his team.

The source of his injury is his weight. The Pelicans already acknowledge that and placed a clause in his contract that he should maintain a certain weight and have his body fat monitored. But even at 284 lbs, he is still a tank and unstoppable inside. Hopefully, with the help of his weight control, he will be able to remain healthy for the rest of the season. The Pelicans need him to move past the playoffs or at least past the first round.

Age is just a number for Lebron, I also lose my bet in this game as I was thinking it will be an easy win for the home team. Just like how the Heat beat the Lakers, I was thinking of the same outcome, unfortunately, it was the other way around. Congrats to Lebron, he still look like he is on his prime, his production this season just prove that he still has a lot left in his tank.
Discuss this somewhere else in social media basketball pages and groups and you'll get a lot of bashing for saying that about Lebron.

I don't know where these people are getting the nerves to hate the guy. He's still on shape and investing a lot for his physical status.

Whether we like it or not, hate him or love him, he's on the better status and we're not better than him. This is the fact that those haters wouldn't accept.

That is social media, it does not matter if he is doing good or bad, there will always be bashers and haters. One good thing for Lebron is he does not respond to these haters. He is not like other stars who respond to every hater instead of just focusing on their game.
990  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: December 31, 2022, 05:00:22 PM
If you guys have trouble choosing the winner in game 3, then might as well try to bet on the total.

The last two games were low scoring game, so game 3 should be the same as this game is played with a very physical defense. IMO, the only chance the total will be over is when the game is close and it will went to overtime. However, for the sake of having fun, it's also nice if we bet on a certain team.  Smiley

Happy new year guys!

That is very good advice. If you did not mention it, I would not have recognized that line. I am always just betting on Moneyline or handicaps, so I do not usually check the over/under. With this information, I would skip the winner for now and just bet on under. Hopefully they continue to play this way and not try to have a shooting showdown next game.

Hesitation is always part of gambling, it's normal. After the game 1 win of the Ginebra, we thought that they will just easily win the series because non only they beat the Bay Area in game 1 but they also beat them during the regular season, so it's 2-0, but after game 2, we are now losing our faith on Ginebra because they are outplayed in game 2, come on guys, it's just one game, the series is still tied.

You are right, it is a series, and it is normal to have adjustments after each game. It is more like a chess match for the coaches of each team. I think before the series started, the majority are predicting a long series and hoping for a game 7. I think that is still the majority. I know I still believe this will be full series.

Since the Game of Indiana Pacers (19-17) vs Los Angeles Clippers (21-16) is too early here in our country, I am placing the bet now before the New Year Celebration begins.

I'll place a parlay later for the games that are taking place later in the day.

Here is my bet. I am taking Los Angeles Clippers  @ 1.63.

992  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 Philippine Basketball Association betting discussion on: December 31, 2022, 02:38:00 PM
Basketball is a game of adjustments.
You lose, you will watch the whole game and then adjust. Right now, it's harder to know who will win in Game 3 TBH. I want to bet on Ginebra on this one, but the Dragons are also capable in defeating them. Ginebra will win if they will help Brownlee on offense because that's their problem in Game 2. No help from others offensively.

The Gin Kings have a long time to find a way to counter the defense of Bay Area Dragon. The Next game is January 4, so they have more than a week since the last game to figure out their counter strategy. The locals had a hard time scoring because of the hassle of the defense of the Bay Area Dragons. If they can set up a counter to the defense of the Dragons, the locals will be able to help Brownlee on the offensive side.

The challenge is on both teams because with this 1-1 record, it proved that both teams are capable of winning. The momentum now is on Bay Area, so we think that Ginebra is in trouble, but wait until Ginebra will win, views of the fans will also change.

The momentum is on the side of Bay Area Dragon but since it was a long break before the next game, I think the momentum is nullified. There is no real momentum yet. And Ginebra is not yet in trouble. It is a tied series, so anyone can still win. As for the fans, we all know who most of them are rooting for.

It is less than two hours before the New Year. Just want to greet everyone here a Happy New Year!!!

993  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 31, 2022, 07:45:39 AM
5 straight wins for the Pelicans.
After defeating the 76ers today, they just had their 5th winning streak, we saw how they struggled two weeks ago and even had a 4 losing streak but now they are back on track.
Even without Brandon Ingram back yet they still manage to win. CJ McCollum stepping up his game way above the expectation of many, Zion Williamson's offensive stats is still growing and their bench players contributing on the defensive end.
This team really has a deep roster and now they are on the top of the Western Conference again tied with the Denver Nuggets.

The Pelicans are starting to cash in on Zion's contract. He is fit and totally carrying the team with the help of CJ McCollum. I was doubtful when the Pelicans offered a max extension to Zion but now, I see that it is worth it. If he stays healthy (thanks to the weight addendum in his contract), they will totally dominate the west. The addition of CJ was a good move too. It provided the necessary veteran leadership this young team needs.

CJ though, he is on fire in this game, scoring 42 points and that 3, even on the fast break he is going to pull the trigger. And then Zion taking advantage of a small guard on his, posting Tucker and then scoring at will and passing the ball as well.

I do believed that the team will go deep in the playoff for this season, I don't know when is Ingram coming back, but they are tough to beat.

Also Alvarado defense and steals and then scoring too.

Yeah, that's what did the 76ers, especially in the first half. Too many turnovers for the 76ers and CJ was too hot to handle.

With regards to Simmons, seeing Simmons back to his old self when he's still with the Sixers would be better but even now that he isn't on that level, the Nets are still doing great. It's because of the role players who are stepping up on both offense and defense. They are now at the top 10 on both categories in the last games. As long as KD and Kyrie are on the Nets, they are a championship caliber team still.

For now, it is working. But if they want to move past the playoffs, they need a better Ben Simmons. He does not only need to be his old self, but he also needs to improve his shooting. At least, he should be better at free throws. He will be a target when playoffs come if he does not improve his shooting.
994  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 30, 2022, 10:43:58 PM
I'm actually frustrated when the Nets freed Steve Nash but somehow, it turns out that it's like what the team truly needed because they are going on a straight line already ever since the season started. Although, they still have some struggles, but they are bouncing back impressively after every loss they've got. These new Big Three of the Brooklyn Nets will definitely bring the team to the playoffs and with its role players, together they can achieve much further than what they did last season.

Steve Nash does not have any experience coaching prior to his stint with the Nets. Maybe his lack of experience is the cause why he was not able to control his stars and coach the Nets properly. But I hope he would not stop coaching. He just needs to work under great coaches and get some experience and maybe someday he will be a good coach as well.

Hopefully, Ben Simmons will get back to his old self soon. He is slowly getting there. If he does, the Nets is a championship-caliber team. It is not enough just to get to the playoffs. With talents like Durant, Kyrie and Simmons, their aim should always be a championship, nothing less.

I say they're a shocker with all the off court bs surrounding the team. Kylie and the antisemitic crap. Then Simmons and his mental health. For them to get past that stuff and work so well as a unit is surprising.

After losing his deal with Nike, Kyrie started to straighten up. I have not seen any antics from him since then. I feel bad for him that he loses big money from losing that deal, but it is good for the team. Look at them now. Without distraction from off-court antics, they are doing great. Hopefully, they can sustain this and not revert if they get more successful.

^^ Congrats mate, my parlay lost due to the Knicks losing their game to the San Antonio Spurs.

Now they are on a skid after a good start, I wanted to create another parlay just like what I did yesterday and do live betting, but I just decided to call it a night with that lost.

There are a lot of games tomorrow, so probably will go back. And congratulations as well to those who win big in tonight's game.

Parlay gives us heart break, hehe. I feel you man, sometimes we are very close but losing one leg of our parlay would destroy everything. Honestly, I prefer not watching the game when I'm betting good money as it will only make me emotional. Lots of games tomorrow, but I'm eyeing on the Warriors, I guess they'll continue winning, so I'll ride the train.

I have been there a lot too, especially lately. There is always that one leg that breaks my parlay. But that is gambling. Sometimes we win, and sometimes we lose. I still watch the game though. I get a lot of info from watching the games that I can use to future bets.

I bet some of our brothers here are busy thinking about what will they have on the table on New Year's Eve but we still have a game that night so let's support our teams.  Cheesy

My first bet.
Orlando Magic vs Washington Wizards - Wizards -5.5 - They had proved they are one of the strong teams although they are on the 12th seed with 15 wins, thanks to Beal, Kuzma, and the unicorn KP. And to add, Magic had lost a lot of players due to the suspension made by the NBA because of what happened against the Pistons. So, this might be an easy path for the Wizards to win the game.

Toronto Raptors vs Phoenix Suns - Raptors -1.5 - This guys are mad due to losing at their homecourt against Grizzlies, they will try to force a win.

Sacramento Kings vs Utah Jazz - Kings -3.5 - They defeated the Nuggets, one of their greatest feats is not giving up, they may win this round against the Jazz.

Good picks. Been losing lately, so maybe I will tail your picks. Hope my luck turns around.

Here is my bet for today:

San Antonio Spurs vs New York Knicks @1.50

The New York Knicks (18-17) will meet the San Antonio Spurs (11-23) at AT&T Center tonight. The Knicks suffered a devastating lost against the Dallas Mavericks in overtime last Tuesday. The Spurs lost to Oklahoma City Thunder, 130-114, last Tuesday.

Knicks key injuries: RJ Barrett (finger) out, Jalen Brunson (hip) questionable

How about the Nets winning 10 straight. That seemed like a pipe dream a few weeks ago. It seems like they’re starting to get it figured out. I’m glad because KD is too good to not get another chance in the Finals. I hope this is his year because I’m not sure what his future will look like. He seems to be setting himself up to be a bit of a journeyman in his final years in the league.
Looks like Uncle Drew is on a mission, when he comeback from the Nets it's like they are an upgraded version and Durant was healthy too along with Simmons. Yeah, more like the years of KD in the league is getting near and before he retires I think getting a ring is a thing for him once again.

They are slowly getting there and 10 might be just first step right ? I mean ...Nets are looking deadly right now and I don't see any team that could stop them besides Mavs and Luka as Luka is on fire right now with being the first player in NBA history to score 60 points and maybe a triple double ...kid is insane but Nets as a team right now are unstoppable. Next game for Nets is against Hornets and I see Nets winning this game since first half... Grin

Hopefully, they can keep this momentum. There are still a lot of games left in the regular season and the top teams will get better. The Nets is a superteam in paper, and they are showing that they are, If Simmons will be the old Ben Simmons, they can really be a contender.

As to the team that can stop them, there are still a lot though, not only the Mavs. Especially in the playoffs where they play in a series. I do not think that they are that invincible. I still favor the Celtics over the Nets. The Celtics have the best duo right now and their bench is stacked. Both teams are healthy, they can go toe-to-toe.  And there are still teams in the west that can beat them.

Remember, they are still missing Brandon Ingram who could put up huge numbers as well. Once he will come back fully healthy, this team will be scary, and of course, as long as Zion will be healthy so they could be a championship contender team. Luka is just special, can't compare him with Zion as Luka is an all around player.

You are right, the Pelicans are still missing BI and they are already scary. All they lack now is experience. Maybe in 2 years or so, this team, if managed correctly, will become a champion. I do not consider them in the race for the NBA finals yet because of their lack in experience but given time, they will be.

I consider myself a gambling addict. However, unlike gambling addicts, I'm aware of my addiction and I know how to control it.

If you are still in control, I do not consider that an addiction yet. Maybe you are just a gambling enthusiast. Cheesy

To avoid, running after the loss, I have set up the responsible gambling in my account and it helps me a lot to control the bad beats against my will to recharge my account and ending up losing it all again.

For me this has been working for quite some time and it was a way I found to prevent me from throwing money that I need away.

Any of you guys uses the responsible gambling feature? If so, what do you think about it? Is it helpful or does it only gives you a sense of control

I am not aware of this service. What bookies or website offer this kind of service? I do not need this kind of service yet because I am still very much in control of my gambling habits. But, just in case I ever need one, I would like to know where to avail.

Lost my parlay today. The Phoenix Suns were wrecked by the Washington Wizards. I did not expect that. Maybe they were exhausted by a back-to-back game. Anyway, better luck tomorrow.

Best of luck to you guys backing the Warriors, i'm skipping that game since the Warriors are missing another player as Thompson is already listed as very unlikely, it'll probably be a close game though as the Warriors are currently 2-0 ATS when they're the home underdogs.

I'm putting my money on the Pelicans -6.5 as the Timberwolves continue to lose games on the road and the Pelicans perform well at home only losing one home game this month.

Unfortunately, the Pelicans failed to cover the 7-point handicap. They won just by 1 point, 119-118.

Congratulations to GSW backers, they are really a monster when defending home. They are now 15-2 at home after their win against Utah Jazz, 112-107.

Here is my bet for today:

Washington Wizards vs Phoenix Suns @ 1.75
