1581  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Aleo mining on: December 12, 2022, 07:53:32 PM
Please kindly note that, in order to receive incentivized testnet rewards, KYC process is required after launching the mainnet. If f2pool cannot pass through KYC by the Aleo project team, we will not be eligible to receive rewards from the network and thus cannot distribute them to you.
https://f2pool.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/13206466235417
KYC in order to receive the mining rewards... wooow.

It got me asking myself a question. Why is it necessary for a miner to first get KYC verification? It's not like they are trying to launder money or finance terrorists, they are actually helping the network run.

Does anyone know a good reason why they KYC miners?
1582  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Bloody Year 2022 coming to End on: December 11, 2022, 11:59:40 PM
https://i.imgur.com/uLcbr5Q.jpg
Bitcoin is about to go through a bloody year.  A number of unexpected events have prevented the Bitcoin market from ever moving upward this year.

Unexpected! You really expected Ponzi schemes classified as Defi's with too good to be true high APY's to last for years? People never learn.
Secondly, a bitcoin market always corrects after smashing through to an all-time high. This is not new.

Dozens of unexpected events have struck fear into the minds of investors.  Starting with investors, governments and central banks have taken a cautious stance on Bitcoin.  So we are almost at the end of this unexpected year.
Nothing new except that people are still so foolish enough to keep their money with Ponzi schemes
1583  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Got a bunch of old HDD from Burst mining days… need them destroyed. on: December 11, 2022, 10:49:13 PM
No I just need them destroyed. I tried selling them like 5 years ago and no takers.

Most likely they don’t have any private data on them but I honestly don’t remember. I can connect to a computer and read the data but there is just too many of them and it’s time consuming. So I just want the quickest way to destroy any data and throw them in the bin.
Still wondering...

What if as soon as you have permanently destroyed them, a project comes up where you can earn something awesome off the the old drives? Have you thought about that?  Grin
If you have enough space, keep them for then next few years, you never know mate. You don't want to be like this chap ( The quest to find $181 million in bitcoin buried in a dump) and many more others I have read about.

1584  Economy / Exchanges / Re: DEX with orderbook on: December 11, 2022, 10:38:32 PM
Unfortunately, high liquidity and volumes are with the swap dexes (the ones with the AMM mechanism) so you will end up with  wide spread in Old-School dexes that have order books.

You might wanna try

1. Loopring (https://loopring.io/#/trade/pro/LRC-ETH)
2. Apollo dex (https://www.apollox.finance/en/trade/APX_USDT) (only 4 spot trading pairs)
3. stellarterm.com (https://stellarterm.com/exchange/XLM-native/USDC-www.centre.io)
4. helixapp.com (https://helixapp.com/spot/inj-usdt)
1585  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Got a bunch of old HDD from Burst mining days… need them destroyed. on: December 10, 2022, 01:44:57 PM
Just put them all into your oven and turn it on for an hour. Problem solved  Grin
I think he still needs the hard drives, he probably just needs the data in their completely destroyed so that It can't be recovered with a good data recovery software.

Another solution is to create new wallets and sweep funds off the old address whose private keys you suspects might have been written in the drives.
1586  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: My friend has S11 Pro, Which Crypto Will give me more profit than Bitcoin mini on: December 10, 2022, 01:36:27 PM
If you read author Hayes new blog post he is blaming part of this crypto crash on mining companies.

They basically take out fiat collaterlized loans again their bitcoins, future mined bitcoins and mining equipment.
Most importantly, why would someone take out a fiat collateralized loan against their future mined bitcoins, knowing that the market can change in a blink of an eye?  Grin
Very poor decision IMO.

I think the worst thing one can do is take a loan and then make the very business that's generating the income as collateral. It's pure gambling.
1587  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [SCAM ALERT] Verified Instagram Account: Eloy Rivera on: December 10, 2022, 01:25:16 PM
I've worked with Eloy and everything went very very well.

I do a promotion with Eloy Rivera and it works good! Honestly the best promotion I’ve done in a while
What's with the brand-new sock puppet accounts created to just reply to this scam accusation? Trying to hide something shady?

This is not the way it works if you want to clean your reputation. It even makes me doubt more when one tries to use sock puppet self-vouching accounts. More like fake feedback.
1588  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Cloud mining for bitcoin on: December 10, 2022, 01:00:47 PM
I've been reporting all their spam posts to the mods as:  Trash, cloudmining spam
With any luck they will soon be booted off the Forum  Grin
Still not banned, or at least the trash posts deleted. I am not sure if the mods are paying attention in this board.

Meanwhile, I have just decided to take the shill accounts as a temporary solution.
1589  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin high prediction 2023? on: December 10, 2022, 12:23:51 PM
I know we are likely to drop further in the first few months of 2023 but I am curious to know how high we all feel Bitcoin can reach later in the year before 2024?
Nobody here is a prophet to know what will happen to the Bitcoin price in 2023. Just like most tradable assets, what you will get will just be speculation from different members. You will have to wait it out, so what will determine how far you will HODL will be your level of patience or greed if you have any.

Take care of some altcoins. Some of them will keep sinking lowered and lower until they are no more and abandoned, and you will lose your investment even after waiting, just like that.
1590  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: My friend has S11 Pro, Which Crypto Will give me more profit than Bitcoin mini on: December 09, 2022, 12:00:02 AM
I also know that Bitcoin is running on SHA-256. in my opinion there will be some other crypto that might give us much more profit than Bitcoin mining.
This is the challenge with ASICs, you only have a specific algo you can mine

Use this too to make approximations, but things are not good at the moment - https://whattomine.com/miners

In the last 24 hours, this is the approximate profitability of the top 3 SHA-256 coins as shown in the last column provided the power cost is $0.1 per KW

1591  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: How true is an NFT pow based project? on: December 08, 2022, 11:47:41 PM
Before we go any further, I hope you know what an NFT is, It's just a token deployed on another network like Ethereum, BSC, Solana etc. Now I think you can see a pattern, Almost all these smart contract base networks are now POS, I think Ethereum was the last man standing until recently.

How are you gonna mine an NFT deployed on a POS network using POW?

It's just an impossible fanatasy IMO.
1592  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Imagine a crypto world without VCs on: December 08, 2022, 11:29:24 PM
1. Do you think their involvement is helpful?
You think VCs are here to make crypto bigger? Nope!
They are here to make money

Look how messed up the markets are getting lately. Personally, i think crypto was way better before this big players started coming in.

2. Can crypto still survive without them?
A long as the initial aim of a cryptocurrency was not to raise money and make the CEOs get rich quick like bitcoin...Yes!
1593  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Have anyone made 1 BTC per month in Past Times? on: December 08, 2022, 10:58:47 PM
It was petty easy to mine a lot of bitcoins with less resources and power but so was selling them off at lower prices,  Grin Obviously not so many people thought Bitcoin would get this big.

It was only people who held the Bitcoins for a good number of years who made lots of profits or turned into Bitcoin millionaires. So the price at that time (if someone sold off their mined Bitcoins) was so huge, like it would be if the Bitcoins were sold today.
1594  Other / Meta / Re: We can not discuss if 'ChipMixer is a honeypot or not' outside their own thread? on: December 08, 2022, 10:42:25 PM

Seriously theymos? Does not it make obvious things look more obvious?
So what has Theymos have to do with your Paranoia?
1595  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: How send money mainnet on: December 06, 2022, 11:56:58 PM
You can't transfer or swap the USDT minus having some few TRX in your account. You need to deposit a few TRX in the address, may worth $2 for you to be able to transfer out the USDT

Perhaps you could share the address which you are using here if you don't mind, and we see if it was activated with enough resources.
1596  Economy / Long-term offers / Re: How to Identify a Ponzi on: December 06, 2022, 11:40:53 PM
Celsius Network ended up being the most advanced ponzi we've seen so far!  Super slick CEO, US presence, institutional backers and lower interest rates made me believe that they had a valid business model!  They probably had a partially valid business model, especially when they could profit from the GBTC premium trade.

I ended up losing money to this (though less than I made on interest on Blockfi + Celsius). Though fortunately I had most of my funds on other sites, and they are now on my hardware wallet.

Capitalism is based on legalized theft (and legalized state violence).

I wonder why most people didn't see it coming. All those so-called DeFis and yield farms are not sustainable in the long run. Someone has to lose money even when they have been promised a certain APY right before locking up their funds.

My General rule is any platform or token that locks up your funds with the promise of a certain percentage profit daily, weekly, monthly or yearly is a Ponzi.
1597  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Soulbound Tokens - The next big thing? on: December 06, 2022, 11:22:12 PM
What do you guys think?
So what will make them the next big thing if they are attached to one's identity and are non-transferable?
The thing to do with most of these hype tokens have always been about demand and supply, but for soulbound tokens, I doubt if they will catch any hype. People are still recovering from the traumas of Luna and FTX crashes, and you tell them about soulbound tokens?
1598  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Alliance Block - can you store on ledger? on: December 06, 2022, 10:59:43 PM
I have read online that you can store Alliance Block on ledger but I have no idea how.

Does anyone know if this is possible and if so how do I go about doing this?
Maybe you can try specifying to use which Blockchain ALBT is based on

If it's ERC20 then I believe you can deposit the token in the Ethereum address just like all other ERC20 tokens

Read this article - https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/4402543134993-Where-is-my-Ethereum-ERC20-token-deposit-?support=true
1599  Other / Meta / Re: Deleting Topic/Thread Without Notice To The OP on: December 06, 2022, 10:26:02 PM
But then also, I follow my email mailbox and messages on this forum very closely, there has never been any notification telling me a topic/thread of mine was deleted.
If the topic is moved to the trashcan which is the most like action that was taken by the Mods, you won't get any notification email but now you at least know why it was removed.
1600  Economy / Exchanges / Re: BREAKING: AAX EXCHANGE HALTS WITHDRAWALS on: December 06, 2022, 09:51:20 PM
Good if they care about security. This is a common warning when it comes to system upgrades and maintenance, some exchanges even do it on a scheduled basis.

Without waiting for this kind of news, always keep in mind the important advice that centralized exchanges are indeed not meant to be used as a storege of assets.
Explain to me exactly what kind of maintenance takes over 2 weeks, while people's open positions get automatically liquidated using Binance exchange price?  Roll Eyes

My bet is that the exchange is gone, they have just been preparing the exit. I am glad I did use this exchange. I am across it about a year ago
