Well that's the problem. You claim he stole money to people, but he can also says he lost the funds while doing his escrow job. Hence he's an incompetent escrow, but unless a precise contract was established precising he had to take care of the funds, there is nothing illegal in being incompetent  Fair point. If an investigation were to take place they could likely uncover the truth. However, as you said, it more than likely wouldn't happen. Legal action for 24 BTC ? I don't think someone will start a legal action against him for only twentyfour bitcoin.
All without taking in account that I doubt a scam of only 10k$ would lead the police to a complete investigation :/

You make me laugh sometimes. Releasing the dox now would create more unneeded drama as half the thread tries to scream "LAWSUIT" louder than everyone else. Not that you wouldn't like that I'm sure. If he stops payments and cuts contact then there is a good reason to release the dox, otherwise you'd just be making this harder than it needs to be for all parties involved. |

For what? What purpose would publicly releasing the DOX serve? It's depressing to learn that trusted individuals on this forum would be willing sell the DOX to users instead of posting it publicly. They want to make a profit out of people who trash the forum, which means these trusted members should not really be trusted because they are not acting in the best interest of this forum and its users. They are just here to make a buck any way they can.
Read the thread before you post bullshit for your bitcents. As far as I know no trusted member is selling the dox, TECSHARE is giving it out to victims individually as they are the only people that would need it. Newbies who get red trust from loan requests aren't using collateral, which means one of two things:
1. They plan to run off with the money they're given,
2. They are incapable of reading the guidelines which say specifically not to request a loan without collateral.
Neither of these things look particularly good on a user, do they?
It's up to the person giving the red trust as to if it's justified, but if several higher members disagreed with the person leaving the trust, said person would be removed from DT (making their ratings not show straight away by default). Because of this, you can conclude that they must be doing something right.

How can you create a payout threshold? Perhaps that will stop some abuse.
You can edit the database to include an extra column of 'balance' for each user. Then rather than send the user an amount over FaucetBox, have it add the value onto the value already in the 'balance' column and create a button to withdraw which would get the amount from the 'balance' column and send it through FaucetBox. Keep in mind that if there are any insecure SQL queries run on your website a malicious user could edit their balance to clear your account, and also that faucets which implement balance are not allowed on the FaucetBox list (AFAIK). I also don't think it would particularly help. |
