1201  Other / Meta / Re: Automatically exchange words on the forum? on: April 11, 2016, 09:18:08 AM
The suspicious links blacklist only affects newbies.
I'm not quite sure whether this is too great of an idea. In some recent cases it has been Full Members and other groups sending the links from hacked accounts. While the green hover colour does help, it may not be seen by mobile users causing them to perhaps be vulnerable.
Perhaps there should be a seperate blacklist which is forum wide for URLs such as this, and affects all user-groups.
1202  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: How to make a signature message on blockchain.info on: April 07, 2016, 12:27:19 AM
In the new Blockchain.info I don't believe this feature is possible in the web interface anymore.
You will have to export the Private Key of the address into another wallet in order to sign it. You can do this by following this guide, as described by shorena's thread here. You should refer to that post if you have any further questions with signing an address.
1203  Other / Archival / Re: . on: April 06, 2016, 05:31:09 PM
While I disagree with your other proposal, I do agree that this one should be implemented. Currently the Auctions sections is a mess due to the variety of the things people sell, so separate sub-forums could work well.

Perhaps it could be similar to the Goods section in where there is a 'Digital Goods' and 'Collectibles' section, since those are the most popular things to be auctioned. Any miscellaneous auctions or questions could then be posted in the Auctions section its self, outside of any sub-forum.
1204  Economy / Services / Re: Need something made in Java on: April 06, 2016, 04:07:30 PM
I have a few years experience in PHP and may be able to help depending on the complexity of the project. Feel free to drop me a PM with some more information.
1205  Other / Archival / Re: Updated Overview of Bitcointalk Signature-Ad Campaigns on: April 06, 2016, 11:48:31 AM
The bit-x signature campaign will likely get new stats and such, because the name changed, site changed so this also should be updated on here.
And I'm sure it will be, once the campaign updates fully. There isn't much point telling people before it has actually updated.

Should this campaign perhaps be added? Though, it seems a bit shady currently.
1206  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN]: cpuminer-opt, the optimized multi-algo CPU miner on: April 05, 2016, 02:00:26 AM
Why is it that Bitcoin mining is now difficult to proceed to with a regular desktop computer? Most around this forum have made a point every time to mention that desktop computers cannot support Bitcoin mining software.
Since ASIC chips, which were built specifically for solving the mathematical calculations needed to mine Cryptocurrency, can do so many calculations per second it is near impossible for a normal desktop computer to do enough calculations towards the network to compare to what such a chip can do (in terms of hashpower).

Desktop computers can support mining, though (should you use a pool) you will be giving very little hash power to the network and therefore get next to no reward. If you are trying to solo mine and find a block, the chances of the pools finding the block is exponentially higher due to them solving a lot more calculations per second. To find a block yourself is near, if not, impossible with a desktop computer.
1207  Other / Meta / Re: This account is hacked,Trusted member needed to handle turnover on: April 05, 2016, 12:15:08 AM
No need for this thread anymore, I turned over the account, @onepix close this thread please
I think we should wait for a signed message from the owner, just to be sure that everything has happened as expected.
1208  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: refBitcoin.com : Bitcoin MLM Network - get paid 3.2 btc from each referral ! on: April 04, 2016, 12:35:17 AM
@minifrij
do you understand how site works?
if you understand it you will know if it's scam or not.
you can't say to anything it's scam before you be sure or study site well.. you should give reasons why you say it's scam?
I do understand how your site works, which is why I didn't call it a scam. freedoge.co was talking generally about Ponzi schemes, therefore I responded with the facts about Ponzi schemes in general.

i can show proof that site is paying, but looks you don't understand site and even not tried it, and you think yourself is smart if you simply say something is scam while it's not..
I don't appreciate you putting words in my mouth and insulting my intelligence because of it. I never said your site was a scam, I said that Ponzis in general were scams.
Please don't do that.
1209  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: refBitcoin.com : Bitcoin MLM Network - get paid 3.2 btc from each referral ! on: April 03, 2016, 10:17:32 PM
it's nothing illegal
This depends on the jurisdiction where you live, but it may well be.

and everyone involved knows how ponzi schemes works
That's a lie and you know it.

it's like gambling
This is somewhat true, though gambling sites are usually a lot more transparent than Ponzi schemes in how they operate. Therefore, it isn't a very good comparison.

should be banned for life from this forum.
For trying to protect people from scams? No. It tends to only be those trying to be dishonest and push said schemes to unsuspecting users that say things like this.
1210  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FaucetBOX.com Discussion on: April 02, 2016, 05:28:43 PM
Hi, freegeoip.net is no longer going to work stable. My question is what alternative can be used? I use geolocation to pay users.
I believe CloudFlare can provide user's location in a custom HTTP header. Not only it will be stable, it'll also be much faster (as you won't need extra http request to external service).
If this doesn't work for you, you can use the other geo-location service I mentioned a page back in this way:
Code:
$countryCode = json_decode(file_get_contents('http://geoip.nekudo.com/api/' . getIP()))->country->code;
1211  Other / Meta / Re: Is DefaultTrust algorithm working as expected? on: March 30, 2016, 02:38:16 PM
If a person's trust score (from inclusions and exclusions) is greater than or equal to 0 they are still on the Default Trust network. It is only once said score turns negative that they are no longer trusted by default.
1212  Other / Meta / Re: MyBB code for bitcoin payment button on: March 29, 2016, 11:28:00 PM
This forum doesn't use the MyBB forum software, it uses SMF. Therefore, it is extremely unlikely this is possible here.
The closest you could perhaps get on the forums is using Coinbase's payment buttons leading to a customized URL, which you can read more about here.
1213  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: [EDU] List of Bitcoin Scam Sites on: March 29, 2016, 10:06:01 PM
I would like to submit a website which I found through this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1417435 .Not yet sure weather Op is the website owner. The following website ,poorly designed, presented in a poorly manner with inadequate data securebitcoinwallet.net is offering users ROI for storing 10 bitcoins on their wallet.
Added to the list. Please remove the https:// from any non-BitcoinTalk links before you post them here. Thanks.
1214  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: SecureBitcoinWallet.net now offers daily interest rates on: March 29, 2016, 09:59:29 PM
Let me explain to you how you can claim something.
First step: You try a service.
Second step: The service does not work as advertised.
Third step: Then you can claim that the service is not working or it is a scam.
Let me tell you what that looks like to more experienced members around here:
"Give me 10BTC, then you can complain when I run off with it".

If you want to prove your legitimacy, you might want to answer a few of these questions:
  • How do you get profit?
  • If the answer to the previous question is trading or anything similar, can you prove it?
  • Why do you need such an insanely high minimum deposit, if you're as legitimate as you say?
  • Why is a website with such a high deposit minimum as yours using a $15 one-page theme?

I also like that you're offering Bitcoin -> Paypal as well, perhaps the easiest exchange method to charge back.

Right now this is looking like a pathetic excuse of a scam; I hope to god no one is stupid enough to fall for it.
1215  Other / Meta / Re: Two much complicated 14 days activity on: March 29, 2016, 04:42:17 PM
And to clear up the last remaining bit of information. Lets say over the course of 2 months I was to make 4 posts, 1 every 2 weeks. Will the potential activity for those 4 sets carry over or is it just from the previous set?
I believe it would all carry over. You would have a visible activity of 4 and a potential activity of 56.
1216  Other / Meta / Re: Two much complicated 14 days activity on: March 29, 2016, 04:28:24 PM
Ah ok, I understand now. The remaining activity that is unearned can carry over with the following set giving up to 27 activity
Yes. Then added with the 1 activity they got in the first interval would give them the maximum for both intervals, 28. They would not earn any extra from posting until the next activity period.
1217  Other / Meta / Re: Two much complicated 14 days activity on: March 29, 2016, 04:23:25 PM
Bit confused myself then, from the activity thread I read yesterday it said it did it in 2 week sets. Do the posts carry over into the new round merging them together or is it specifically split into the 2 week periods?
Let's say an account posts once in one interval. They would get 1 activity (which is visible on their profile), along with 13 more potential activity (that you cannot see). If they were then to post in the next interval, the first 13 posts would then unlock that potential activity from the last period, then the next 14 would unlock the activity from the current interval.

Basically, if an account's activity and post count is the same, they have extra activity they can unlock (usually).
1218  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Dooglus is supporting ponzis on: March 29, 2016, 04:05:55 PM
..and two DT1 exclusions are needed for a DT2 member so I'm still failing to see how that could prevent anyone from speaking out against a scammer.
BAC left Dooglus a negative rating and Dooglus excluded BAC from his trust list, which puts him close to being out of the DT network.
Basically QS is gripping at straws to try and justify his petty arguments with other people.

He is an obvious alt account which is solely made to troll or distract people from the point.
What point? I don't see CD trying to distract from anything. If anything, by tagging those who take part in Ponzis he is bringing it closer to light.

It is also not a co-incidence that he is under doo.
Nice conspiracy. have you got any evidence towards that, or are you just trying to push the anti-CD circle-jerk more?

You don't think that coding a script for a ponzi is not support for a ponzi?
Fixing a bug in a script != coding a script. I've fixed bugs in scripts previously, I cannot then put that on my portfolio and imply that I made it.

Without the help of dooglus, any ponzi that was using the script in question would not have been able to steal money from others.
You're over exaggerating again. Do you really think that the 5 lines doog fixed were so detrimental to the script that it would have rendered the script unusable? I can almost guarantee that the script was used prior to dooglus' involvement, and had been used to steal money from others. Trying to argue that he had such a large effect on the script is stupid, as it is plainly obvious he didn't.

dooglus has a very long history of profiting from when other people have been scammed to the point of tens of thousands of dollars...
I would ask for evidence, though I can already tell you're just going to bring up the dicebitco.in signature campaign again.

...and the amount of money stolen as a result of these scams is to the tune of millions of dollars.
Hey, remember when you worked directly with TF to try and get a lawsuit against Vod (where he sent you money towards it)? TF, someone who single-handedly stole over $1,500,000 (at current prices) from people using his services, sent money he stole from others directly to you?
Yeah me neither. What am I talking about, burn dooglus for advertising a site that scammed!

Really QS, this is starting to get a bit sad. Do you really have nothing better to do with your time than follow internet vendettas against people who don't trust you?
1219  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FaucetBOX.com Discussion on: March 26, 2016, 08:53:54 PM
Does anyone know why http://freegeoip.net has been very slow?
It doesn't seem like there has been any update on the dev's twitter about it. For now, you can use this instead (I should think):
Code:
$countryCode = json_decode(file_get_contents('http://geoip.nekudo.com/api/' . getIP()))->country->code;
1220  Economy / Services / Re: BTC2BID.com SIGNATURE CAMPAIGN - High rates, simple rules! on: March 26, 2016, 06:26:34 PM
Is it possible to reserve a spot on this campaign? I consider myself to be a high quality poster, though I am bound to my current campaign until the current term finishes.
Also, is the campaign being escrowed?
