1101  Other / Meta / Re: BetBTC think they're sneaky, turns out they're not. on: June 15, 2016, 10:22:16 PM
4. Bumps are limited to once per day (24 hours), yes this includes "updates", that's what the edit button is for. Old bumps should be deleted as they serve no purpose, and only clutter up topics and make it more annoying to read.
While I feel like it may be futile, let's try to explain it again. The problem with what you're doing isn't about what you do with previous bumps on your thread. The problem is that your bumps are not within 24 hours of each other.
I even italicized the part of your quote which applies to what you're doing wrong.
1102  Other / Meta / Re: New posting bot on: June 15, 2016, 07:18:05 PM
You mean the topic being #417,000? It's most likely pure luck, since there is nothing else about the user that resembles something that a bot would do (more just a person promoting his altcoin).
1103  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [List] Bitcoin Advertising Networks on: June 15, 2016, 06:53:13 PM
I just want to ask if google adsense still accepting bitcoin faucet in there terms?
Google Adsense never accepted sites like Faucets in the first place, as Adsense doesn't allow Incentivized Traffic (See 'Sites that offer compensation programs ("pay-to" sites)' on this page).

or if we put a google adsense in our faucet we will received a warning?
You won't receive a warning. If you try to approve an Adsense account with a Faucet website your account will be denied. If you're found to be using Adsense ads on a faucet from an already approved account your account will be banned without warning.
1104  Other / Meta / Re: blazr account hacked or just change ownership ??? on: June 14, 2016, 05:41:50 PM
It really looks like the account changed ownership. Maybe something related with this?
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1496414.0
I don't think it would be that sale, since the numbers don't quite match up (The post mentions >2000 posts, where as Blazr only has 1933 and the activity is significantly lower than Blazr's). If it was an account sale, I believe that it would be this one, since the numbers match up more nicely.

It's hard to tell though, considering there are THREE DT account sales happening now. Some people in this community are fucking awful sometimes.
1105  Other / Meta / Re: u=190734 hacked on: June 13, 2016, 07:30:22 AM
Thanks guys, does anybody know how long it will take for a reply?
It depends on the importance of your account. If your account could damage the forum by being abused (E.G being on DT) then the process would be significantly faster. Otherwise, if your account is just a normal Senior-Hero account, you can expect a wait of several months to a year.

NO 6 Months waiting after you have provided everything means it's a broken system or the Admins aren't doing their Jobs.
If people don't want the wait, they should improve their security so they don't get hacked. It's not the admin's problem if they can't demonstrate good security practices.
1106  Other / Meta / Re: How much BTC does the forum own, and who holds it? on: June 12, 2016, 04:42:07 PM
Calling it an "extortion attempt" I think is a little ridiculous - but whatever (funny how one silly mistake overrides over a year of holding 250 BTC which was held at the time that BTC was approaching its all time high - the initial return of 200 of that 250 was because I was actually worried that someone might try and locate me).
I do understand that it was just a temporary lapse of judgement, though it was extortion by definition. You were trying to get your way by threatening the forum with monetary loss.
Regardless, it was very noble of you to accept your mistakes, apologize, return the BTC and still contribute to the forum as you do. I don't think anyone holds your mistake against you anymore.
1107  Other / Meta / Re: btt issue with toleration on: June 12, 2016, 02:03:57 PM
No it is not impossible. English is quite easy (in most cases)no matter what your native language is. It might take some people more time than others to learn it, but that doesn't make it difficult. Try learning Mandarin (category 5) in comparison and get back to me.
It isn't impossible, but it isn't as clean cut as you're making it out to be IMO. I expect it's easier if your first language is comprised of mostly Latin characters, however (much like your example) if a person is coming from a language based on Cyrillic characters (Russian, Chinese, Greek etc) it will likely be significantly more difficult to become fluent in a language such as English (at least to the point where you can communicate decently).
Not only this, but things such as idioms and sarcasm can make it harder for non-natives to fully understand what people fluent in the language may be saying.

everybody not 100% perfectly english speachers = lazy for your view.
I don't believe anyone is a perfect English speaker on this forum. Even natives such as myself still make a good amount of mistakes when typing or reading replies.
No one expects you to speak English perfectly, however people do expect you to speak it fluently enough to convey your point. If you do not speak English fluently then people that do may think that your post is spam or off topic as they do not properly understand what you're trying to say. This is not anyone's fault, simply a problem with trying to communicate with a language barrier.
1108  Other / Meta / Re: How much BTC does the forum own, and who holds it? on: June 12, 2016, 12:45:06 PM
The current list of treasurers can be seen here. According to the post, the forum currently holds ~1,750BTC between 4 treasurers.

Paraipans 250BTC are still in there (1PFkqgBBrSKikyyUGDerZMfzvCNPgKrR3o), though they are afaik unreachable.
This is true, as sadly Paraipan passed away in 2014.

The 500BTC OgN holds as treasurer are also still there (1Eog8UqRFLufC71rBLt2nYgfUDskgxAyVF).
In addition to this, Rassah is holding 750BTC in this address:
PGP signed and returned to Theymos.
Public holding address: 1HQ8WaKVRYXLBtVdMcYr5SHQ3X9BsLyxa1

The other addresses are either unknown or empty as far as I've checked.
I expect that the majority was used on the new forum software, though I know CIYAM chose to return his holdings to theymos after an extortion attempt against the forum using them.
If you would like to see what the treasurers list used to look like, there is an archived version from 2014 at archive.org.
1109  Other / Meta / Re: What exactly is a "constructive post"? on: June 12, 2016, 10:46:50 AM
It's subjective. A constructive post is (IMO) a post that adds to the conversation/answers a query whilst still having effort put into it.
It's difficult to define, however it is not difficult to distinguish. Low quality posts tend to repeat things that have already been said (either in the thread or in their post) to stretch out their post length/count, or say things that have no relevance to the thread /conversation (E.G saying something like 'I hope the price stays high' in a Speculation thread).

I started a similar thread to this a while back, of you would like to read it.
1110  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: FaucetBOX.com Discussion on: June 12, 2016, 02:48:44 AM
snip
Would just like to start by saying that I am in no way related to FaucetBox, just in case you decide to use what I say to you against them. I'm just talking as someone who has been here for a while and understands how this works a lot more than you seem to.

Faucetbox charges a 2.5% fee to administer payments thru your faucets.
Correct. This fee can be reduced, though something will have to change. Would you prefer:
  • FaucetBox to shut down as it cannot afford to pay it's infrastructure,
OR
  • Transactions to faucet users take days to confirm (or may never) as fees are not paid.

by taking this fee they owe you a duty of care to ensure that your payments are not going to fraudelent claimants.
If you can find a way to do this using only a Bitcoin address, I'm sure that FaucetBox will be happy to implement it. Otherwise, it is not their responsibility.

As they act as a payment processor, they must act immediately to make sure bot's etc do not get to enter your faucet.
FaucetBox has no reason to look after your site for you. It is your responsibility to look after your website.
If you added a way to withdraw from your website using PayPal, do you think they would help you stop bots visiting your site? Absolutely not. This is no different.

the software for this is not that expensive in comparison to what faucetbox charges for a deposit..
You do not have any idea what you're talking about, though that wasn't hard to pick up on based on the rest of your posts. If you can find such software for a low price, use it.

But as most of us built our faucets via the faucetbox scrypt....  faucetbox are 100% responsible for the security of that scrypt[1] and any captcha service[2] they offer via that scrypt Huh
1. Yes, if there were any security exploits in the FaucetBox script then they are responsible for fixing them. However, the bot problem is because a bot looks no different from a human. A user comes from a valid browser, checks the captcha and gets a withdrawal to their address. How do you prove that this user is not a bot?
2. Are you stupid? Why is FaucetBox responsible whatsoever for external services that they use in their script? Is FaucetBox responsible for the Bitcoin, Litecoin, Dogecoin networks too? (Hint: Of course not).

the same captcha's that they are now blaming on the breach of security
Learn how the bots complete captchas and you will see that the captcha is the reason for the bot attacks. Of course, you once again have no idea what you're talking about and want to blame a scapegoat (that being FaucetBox).

it's not our sites their compromising...
its you're feckin scrypt !!!!!
No, it is your site. As far as I'm concerned, FaucetBox has given you more than enough to get started on running a faucet. Expecting them to do everything for you and crying like a child when they don't is stupid.

the scrypt you charge us 2.5% deposit fee for ..!!!!
The fee is for the Bitcoin network and the site's (not faucet script's, though I expect that comes into it somewhat) running costs. This was explained to you clearly here:
1% of that goes to miners as a transaction fees, the remaining 1.5% barely covers infrastructure costs, it's not even enough for a wage for one developer.

I have sent you a PM, as I didn't wanted to make all your problems public.
But I'm quite happy to share the message here if you remain condescending
Threatening people because you can't get your own way, what a clever and mature way to handle things. Child.

The faucetbox script is infested with bots, as soon as one faucet goes online using the script bots automatically connect to it, faucetbox fix your shit or you will not have many faucet owners using your service
As explained above, this is not their problem. The faucet is infested with bots as the script is exactly the same as every other, making it easy for bots to attack multiple sites at the same time. This is the inherent flaw with faucet scripts.
If you want to reduce bots without putting any sort of measures into place, make your faucet layout/function unique. Chances are (unless your rewards are amazingly good) bot creators won't bother to create/fix a bot just for your website.
1111  Other / Meta / Re: i can't access my account! Possibly hacked on: June 10, 2016, 11:23:33 AM
However, this is not a signed message. He's asking for the signed message that you sent to theymos.

Any idea hoe long does it take ?
It depends on how important your account is. Since (AFAIK) your account isn't thst important anymore, it can take anything from a few weeks to a year.
1112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: how to check sign message is legit? on: June 10, 2016, 10:50:55 AM
Shorena created a useful tutorial on creating and verifying signatures here.
If you would like to use a non-web service, there is the 'Verify Message' option under 'File' in Bitcoin Core, A 'Verify' option in Electrum on the 'Sign/Verify message' option under 'Tools' and a 'Verify Message' option under 'Tools' in MultiBit.
1113  Other / Meta / Re: selling Bitcointalk accounts shouldn't be allowed.. on: June 10, 2016, 10:22:23 AM
But its one way of making money
It is. So is identity theft. Should that be allowed as well?

Must transactors involve should have a link on there facebook or other social media accounts. That way we can see if its honest and serious it is more secured and more trust-able that people font want to risk there info with simple scams. Accounts must be at least 1 year old. With many friends.
Not to mention how easy it is to buy a Facebook Account with many friends (it was discussed literally 3 posts before yours), what if a member doesn't use social media? Would they have to sign up for it, gain a lot of friends/follows and wait for a year before they could perform any transactions on this forum? If they didn't want to do this, what would stop them posting some random Facebook user's account and pretending it was them?
In addition to this, one of Bitcoin's main principles is that it is anonymous. This is then ruined if everyone has to post all of their personal information just to do something as simple as transact using it.

So its easy to identify if its legit or not.
The account being legit doesn't necessarily mean the user posting it being legit. I am this Facebook user, can I transact now and be trusted?

Thats just my opinion.
You obviously didn't think it through very well. Hope you enjoy your signature payment!

mine only is that we should just trade with people who got positives trust
You should just trade with people you trust after looking at their history on the forum and evaluating their behavior/trade history. Relying on any other factor to make a judgement for you has the possibility to go very wrong (even with personal evaluation it can still go very wrong, see Master-P).

but i think rare to see them selling accounts.
If you're talking about people selling accounts with positive trust, it happens more than you would expect. It is disgusting.

People would notice if you sold your FB account right?
It would depend on how well you went about hiding you buying it.
1114  Other / Meta / Re: selling Bitcointalk accounts shouldn't be allowed.. on: June 08, 2016, 10:05:14 PM
In one thread a while back you called me a "cunt".
For what I believe is a good reason. You were looking to develop/get help with something that severely damages a business that I have helped others with for years. Regardless, this is not on topic so let's not discuss it here.

Have a good day/night whenever you read this.
You too.

(do people sell their e.g. 'FB accounts' when they need money? Hint: No.).
While I do agree with you, this is a moot point since it has happened on the forum in the past.
1115  Other / Meta / Re: Theymos Help a girl out my Bitcoin Talk account has been Hacked!!! on: June 08, 2016, 03:00:21 PM
New problem now my account is locked .......  Sorry cassieheart, you are banned from using this forum!
For security, your account has been locked. Email acctcomp15@theymos.e4ward.com .
Did you try to reset your password through your security question? If so, that will automatically lock your account.

I sent multiple email's to Email acctcomp15@theymos.e4ward.com  and also pm'ed a  signed message to Theymos .
Why is it that support is so horrible on bitcointalk do they not have enough funding to maintain or?
The admins are busy, and have better things to do than fix problems which (most of the time) were caused by the users themselves.

Cheers Bob! Welcome back. How're you doing?
1117  Economy / Reputation / Re: Who is ibminer on: June 08, 2016, 01:42:57 PM
People don't get added to DT because of their trust score; that would open the door for abuse. People are added to DT because a DT1 member sees their feedback and considers it to contribute to the forum.

ibminer leaves accurate trust feedback, and does not spam. Stop crying because you were left negative feedback.
1118  Other / Meta / Re: selling Bitcointalk accounts shouldn't be allowed.. on: June 08, 2016, 01:32:12 PM
Wow. a personal attack. you sure are good at debating here.
There was any debate? I just thought I should point out how hypocritical you're being, maybe hoping you won't pull the same shit for the third time in a month or two. I apologize if I said it harshly.

I'm not going to respond to the rest of your post since it;s just a personal attack.
Apart from, if you read it, I pretty much agreed with you for the rest of my post (apart from I corrected you in a few places you were wrong).

adults don't call people names.
Neither do they change their mind like the weather on their paid signature, coincidentally only when they get punished for spamming.
Adults do read people's posts and reply to their points, regardless of whether said points hurt their feelings or not.
1119  Other / Meta / Re: selling Bitcointalk accounts shouldn't be allowed.. on: June 08, 2016, 11:22:06 AM
I agree with you on this point. Look at the economics section, and you'll see pointless drivel posted over and over again
I mean, you do have first hand experience with this point as well. Good to see that whole "I hate signature campaigns and I'm not joining one again" is going well for you too, child.

Not necessarily, most search engines are designed to filter out spam/irrelevant content, though this site has a high pagerank.
It's simpler than that. More people that are here spamming bullshit, more people are giving traffic to the site spamming bullshit. It has nothing to do with search engines.
That, and I highly doubt that a search engine will not index any page on this forum because it sees it as spam.

Your suggestion that he is using the donations and the extra money from his own ads to pay the moderators ... is complete nonsense.
Moderators are rewarded monetarily for the work they do on the forum by theymos. I don't think you know what you're talking about.

snip
In reply to this, I believe you're half right. All up until you started trying to shove an unrelated agenda into your point.
1120  Other / MultiBit / Re: Help,Multibit classic password . on: June 07, 2016, 06:51:42 PM
You could maybe brute-force your password using a script similar to what is described here, however this depends on a few things.
How much of the password do you remember? Do you remember the type of character set the remaining characters belong to (E.G a-z, A-Z, 0-9)? If the password was a readable word/phrase, do you have any idea how the rest of it might go?
The answers to these questions may determine whether or not it would be sensible to try and brute-force it. Even if you know a lot about the rest of the password, it can still take days to crack it fully. If you don't remember anything about the rest of your password, it may not be worth the time or effort to crack it for the amount of Bitcoin you would lose.
