2501  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2020/21 on: August 11, 2021, 05:43:12 PM
Maybe Barcelona wouldn't be so bad without Messi, but Messi is a player who can give something different to Barcelona's match. There is a much greater passion for watching the game when we see him involved in every Barcelona match and now I don't know if it will be very boring or not. For sure, Barcelona is a team and not just one player. It is impossible to expect him to be present all the time because if not this year then a few years from now Messi will also retire from the world of football as an active player.
I guess the last years of Messi was just a merchandise situation. Think about it, dude was getting 70 million at the peak level, 70 million! You could spend 200 million and get 2 amazing players which will be just 3 years worth of salary for Messi, and I mean like Haaland+Kane together for just 3-4 years of Messi salary, and you can pay them combined 30 million as well.

This team has managed to actually save themselves sooooo much money that eventually they will be doing insanely better, unbelievably better, everyone will be shocked how awesome Barcelona will be in the next decade, they will have the chance to dominate European football again with all the money they will save from this deal. Messi is great and all, but I think he was the only reason the team was doing horrible, sure financial management wasn't good neither but Messi was the main cause of that.
2502  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: August 10, 2021, 07:40:04 PM
Abraham had some really nice performances early last season but kinda faded as the season progressed. He's English so carries a few more million on his price tag by default, he could be a decent signing for Mourinho.

Serie A will probably suit him more than the Premier League and he's a player that will always be easy enough to sell back to England (due to their English players quotes) if it doesn't work out for Roma.

Good deal for Chelsea as well, really decent amount of money for a player that would spend the majority of the season on the bench.
Honestly I was shocked to learn Abraham is even on the market, he is way too good of a player to give up at this stage for Chelsea. Maybe he may not find himself in the starting eleven all the time, but he is still a good contribution to the team whenever someone gets injured, you can even place in at any place aside from defense, dude is that good and overall.

I guess Roma just wants to build a great team, the logic of getting Mourinho makes more sense now,  having last years' Roma with Mourinho made no sense, but with addition of some new players that could actually become something very good for them. I heard that they are after Icardi as well just now, and that means that with Abraham and Icardi they could actually be a very valid team, but I have zero idea where they are getting that much money from, never knew they had the coffers filled.
2503  Economy / Economics / Re: Financial freedom and success comes from knowledge on: August 10, 2021, 06:58:13 PM
I believe that timing is key. Most people missed out on the opportunity to buy when the market was down last year and we recently had that same opportunity again weeks ago when the market dipped and I know some investors might miss that too because of bad timing. This is mostly due to a lack of knowledge about the market, If most investors studied the market pattern very well, you would see similar moves and would be able to take advantage of them.
I am feeling very lucky that I bought during those periods as well. I didn't do it because I "knew" it would go up, obviously we all know that I am not a wizard who can see the future, but I just buy whenever price goes up, for the future basically but not in a week of course. I believed that in a few months price would be over 40k even 50k and that would profit me, maybe even a year later, but I just knew that it would go up "one day" not this quickly obviously.

So, I got lucky when I bought, but it is also quite smart to buy whenever price goes down, you should buy, because we all know even if it doesn't go up tomorrow, it will go up in a week, a month, a year or whenever and that is how you make money. People who bought at 20k or bought at 3k in 2017-2018 all made money, that is what we should be taking as examples, everyone makes money as long as they buy bitcoin, some do it quicker, some do it a bit later.
2504  Economy / Economics / Re: Bullish: 'Vast Majority' of Institutions Will Own Crypto by 2026: Fidelity on: August 10, 2021, 06:10:00 PM
If anyone still has doubts about whether it is worth buying and waiting at least until the next cycle, take a look at what a new survey from Fidelity Digital Assets says.

According to the survey, 70% of institutional investors intend to buy or invest in digital assets in the near future, with over 90% of them planning to do so by 2026.

We have seen entrepreneurs who were skeptical of Bitcoin years ago change their minds in the last year. If what the survey says comes true, and it looks like it will, it won't even be necessary to own a whole Bitcoin to achieve a certain degree of wealth.

Surely the $30K we have seen recently will never be seen again.
I am always telling people this! It’s not over, yet. Though the price we have now might seem like it’s really too much, but this will be small compared to what we are going to see in the future, because by then there is going to be lots of institutional investors who will invest huge amount of money. That’s going to move up the price and those who don’t invest now wouldn’t be happy about that.

2026 is five years from now, and before then I believe we are going to see another halving take place, and it will shorten the rate of supply and since there will be much demand coming in at that time, this will pump the price. With the way I am seeing things now, I think anywhere around $30,000 is the least price we will ever see from now.
2505  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Man lost £20,000 in one night after becoming addicted to online gambling! on: August 10, 2021, 06:05:26 AM
The bad thing is when he is in a bad streak, the player if he does not have enough self-control, he does not know when he can stop playing, and this is linked to the personality type, because at one point the player forgets the value of money, since he only wants is to win and win, he does not measure consequences, at that moment is when he goes into addiction.
In my opinion on both good and bad streaks, gamblers usually do lose self-control. Because, both positive and negative rolls will disturb the balance of emotions of gamblers and when gamblers start losing their control over emotions then they start taking worst decisions like adding more funds to bankroll and then increasing bet amount randomly and then forgetting to generate new paring-seed.

I have seen gamblers lose in thousands on each round still they were in hurry to win so that they believe that they could recover all the losses and may leave the casino with profits. On one occasion, a friend of gambler was trying to understand the worst current situation of gambling, but that gambler refused to listen to his words and followed his own intuitions and lost all his money.
2506  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Anything like excess gambling on: August 10, 2021, 05:25:16 AM
Some people could bet without even knowing the amount of time and money they have invested in gambling which could look obvious and call for estimation. I gamble a lot and sometimes I don't even know if it's becoming excess not.
This is a common case for all the gamblers. Because, once you get into the excitements of gambling then you will start forgetting about everything which includes your budget and hours for gambling. Even gambling houses are not ready to alter us about excessive gambling in terms of funds or duration. Because, when you are into gambling for longer hours, their chances for higher profits is more.

Like experts do suggest always, only when gamblers feel their responsibilities there will be the chances for "regulated gambling". In an unrestricted environments, we cannot expect gamblers to be disciplined and responsible.
2507  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: August 09, 2021, 07:06:04 PM
First games are not really that important because teams are just getting used to things. Neymar didn't play neither, and Messi is moving to PSG as well so he wasn't around, goalkeeper was still Navas, Ramos was nowhere to be found. Basically we are going to see a whole different PSG in a few weeks for sure, I don't know everyone's excuse but they will eventually play. When that happens we are going to actually see something insane, it is going to be unreal.

I do not remember a team that was as built amazingly as PSG in the recent years, this team is filled with superstars in every position and they will definitely win the league with ease, and I mean like with quite ease, probably at least 10+ points to the second, argument could be made for 15 and more but usually teams give up after that much difference and start losing games so I think 10+ is more realistic.
2508  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Price Prediction: $350k before the end of 2022 on: August 09, 2021, 06:35:01 PM
What you are talking about is polar opposite things, a government who wants to have a control everything which is centralized in nature will accept a decentralized movement, which means the government will be willing to let go off their centralized power they have and you really think it is possible  Cheesy.

The competition is entirely different, all these governments are trying to tame the beast and what i see is that each and everyone trying their tactics to tame the decentralized beast. EL Salvador will be forcing everyone to use the wallet the government create who can control the flow of money and monitor each and every transaction, that does not sound decentralized  Tongue.
There is a difference between accepting a decentralized currency versus accepting a decentralized management of a nation. Obviously the law and the politicians will keep being centralized, however that doesn't mean that the currency have to be. Even in that case, you could have a centralized government rule + a centralized currency but add in a decentralized currency as an alternative to your already established one.

Look at USA, are they giving up on USD? Of course not, dollar is rampant as ever and there is nothing to stop that, however that doesn't change the fact that federally crypto is not illegal, coinbase is already listed on stock markets, it is a very much allowed thing, or look at El Salvador, are they not using fiat at all? Basically allowing crypto to thrive doesn't mean that you will have to stop, it just means that you have to let them both coexist.
2509  Economy / Economics / Re: Why would people ever use bitcoin if its expected to always go up? on: August 09, 2021, 05:08:49 PM
After reading several posts on this forum many people seem to think that Bitcoin will always go up. If this were to be the case, why would people spend Bitcoin at all? In this theoretical time, wouldn't it just be a poor financial decision to do?

Or is it thought that in this future where there is widespread adoption the price would stop being so volatile and for the most part stabilize?
Maybe the price is going to stabilize when there is much adoption. I think for now that it is still growing, there is always going to be an expectation that it is going to increase in value. And especially times when there is halving, everyone usually looks forward to the time the market price will go up.

This is normal because when there is a decrease in the rate of supply, then you should be looking forward to an increase in price since demand is going to be high at times like this. So, the question is what would now happen when there is no other supply coming and there would be no other halving? I believe the price will be really stable by then.
2510  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin as a speculative asset or as currency on: August 07, 2021, 09:02:22 AM
Is Bitcoin still yet a speculative asset or a store of value? I think people will have different opinions about this.
Bitcoin can be all (speculative asset or a store of value or a currency).

All currencies can be traded hence being volatile may not disqualify from being a currency.

Speculative asset means highly fluctuating one and bitcoin is already doing that in great manner.

Being used as store of value will be possible if NOT too volatile still if people ignore the volatile nature then bitcoin will remain as preferred store of value as bitcoin always appreciating in long run.

In long run, after bitcoin attaining values in millions then people may start afraid to spend bitcoin for buying their foods and groceries which might be the point where bitcoin will start losing its positions as a currency. But, being speculative asset and store-of-value will continue forever how gold is doing even after 2000 years of running.
2511  Economy / Economics / Re: Have you been grateful for today? on: August 06, 2021, 08:25:42 PM
A contented person will always be grateful for what they've earned or what they have today but a greedy one will not know how to be grateful.

As for me, I'm always will and in fact just waking up early in the morning is enough for me to be thankful because I've given another day to live. There are others out there who are dying every second. Now in relation to crypto, I will forever thankful with crypto and I always thank the people, the mentors, the youtubers that I've watched because I will not be in my place right now without them. Profits?? I'm not a crypto trader but whenever I gain profit, I always said to myself "that's enough" and after that will be grateful before I sleep.
That has been my life style ever since I was a little kid and that sometimes confuses people. For example every year my birthday wish has been "I am thankful for what I have, I do not need more, please do not let me have less and that's enough", and I will always keep doing that. 2020 was a bit of an exception for that, and so did 2021, I asked for pandemic to be over but nothing financial, just for humanity basically.

As long as you are happy with your life, then you can start actually living the current life, when you are not happy with it, you always aim for something bigger and bigger which will basically be you living a life that is always for the future and never right now which will be a very sad situation. This is is why I think we should not be focusing on the future and what can have, but what focus on what we have instead.
2512  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What hatred do people have for Bitcoin? on: August 06, 2021, 06:45:34 PM
My Questions now are, Why do some people hate cryptocurrency so much? What's their back story? Did they ever lose a huge amount of money in cryptocurrency?
There can be a lot reasons as to why a lot of people are going to hate cryptocurrency. I have seen different people who has such hatred for cryptocurrency and they all have different reasons as to why they don’t like cryptocurrency. I have seen one person that told me she hates Bitcoin and when I asked her to know why she doesn’t like bitcoin, she said because it’s a Scam.

And when I asked her to explain in details what made her feel that Bitcoin is a scam, I happened to know that it’s a misunderstanding, she had invested her money in the wrong place, she didn’t invest direct in Bitcoin, rather she invested in some sort of bitcoin project that’s being run by scammers and she was scammed, so she started to think that Bitcoin is a scam and there has decided to stay completely away from Bitcoin.
2513  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Criteria for Choosing Alt-coins to Invest In on: August 06, 2021, 05:54:59 AM
Altcoins investment is one of the integral part of cryptocurrency investment since the altcoin boom of 2017, so many altcoin projects have come up some are successful and are still available in the trading market while others are simply pumped and dumped and are no longer trading. This drive me to the conclusion that investing in altcoin is one of the most risky aspect in cryptocurrency investment, and many newbies and even experienced Crypto investors have fallen victim for some of the failed and scam alt-coins projects.
No. Definitely you people are misguided by lots of myth. If you go for a survey to study how much ROI an average investor had made for a particular time frame between bitcoin investments and altcoin investments then definitely bitcoin investors must be leading in that study. So, even altcoins are seeming to support you to be rich in quick time, in long run you might be losing as there are lots of scam coins in the market and you may fail to filter them out.

In my opinion, just bitcoin investment will be more than enough for all of us. If you are ready to risk then you may go for up to 5% of your portfolio with all other coins and tokens. Otherwise, you may make good profits in one coin and may end up losing all your capital in some other.
2514  Economy / Economics / Re: knowledge and Capital which is Very important in Business or Investment? on: August 06, 2021, 05:09:10 AM
a factor or several factors are been considered before and for a more renounced performance called (Success), so what is most important to an individual, company, or organization to consider before investing to attain the desired height of success?
Success always not depending on only one factor. In this highly competitive world, we must need more than one support to stay ahead hence both knowledge and capital are important but in my opinion these two are just basic requirements and beyond these basics, we must need lots of other factors also should be in our favor so that we may remain successful forever.

Without knowledge, I might have not got into bitcoin and even I have come to know about bitcoins, if I did not have good capital then I could not have enjoyed good profits from bitcoin; this is just an example how bitcoin investment as well requires both knowledge and capital.
2515  Economy / Economics / Re: What kind type of market player you are? on: August 05, 2021, 08:45:49 PM
Before starting I advise you to read some books, in my case I have learned a lot about Wyckoff's theory, from Jesse Livermore, the fact that you get into short-term trading is very necessary that you become an expert in technical analysis , but nevertheless before getting there it is good that you can learn to understand how the market moves, if you combine the fundamental analysis with the technical one I think your chances of success will increase, now if you can trade with play money first before making your operations It would also be very prudent.
Yes, trading without being an expert or at least knowing what you are doing is really a waste of time. When you don’t know what you’re doing you’re going to be losing money, so what’s the need for being a trader when you’re not earning from it? It’s good that we understand the risks that are involved in it, and once we understand that risk, and know how we can handle it, then we are ready to go for it.

And being a trader is not just about learning how to trade, even when you have the skills, you still have to apply different other strategies to make your trading successful, because there are times when your predictions might end up wrong, no matter how good you might seem to be in trading short term or long term.
2516  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 05, 2021, 08:20:00 PM
The teams starting five is looking good I agree with that but let's be honest with each other, even with just one injury, one not being 100% and they are still a bit of a lack in depth type of team. For example as a point guard they have westbrook as a beastly great player, but what about after that? Are you really betting your team on Kendrick Nunn? At shooting guard who are they going to play? Melo? At that age? No way, then who? THT? Malik Monk? Is that really a championship caliber player level we would love to see in our team? Lebron is a beast at SF, then who? Ariza? They got Howard and Gasol as bigs, that is the center position for 48 minutes? Surely AD will go there for plenty of minutes.

Basically they do have the best top 5, but after that it is a steep drop for them and they will not be happy even if just one player gets injured and most of them are injury prone as well.
2517  Economy / Economics / Re: Marathon Invests $150 Million In Bitcoin on: August 05, 2021, 07:48:44 PM
Fidelity is buying a 7.4% shares in the mining company Marathon Digital Holdings, Forbes reported According to the publication, the transaction amount was approximately $20 million. Fidelity Investments was included in the list of the largest shareholders of Marathon Digital Holdings along with Vanguard Group (7.58%), Susquehanna (2.7%) and Blackrock (1.59%). https://www.forbes.com/sites/anthonytellez/2021/08/04/fidelity-buys-74-of-bitcoin-mining-company-marathon-digital-holdings-across-multiple-funds/?sh=a99e83326f2c
That puts their valuation at 270 million, why did Marathon agreed to something like that? These guys have 352 million dollars with cash+bitcoin holdings, they already have more than that amount, selling 7.4% for 20 million makes no sense at all, they could have sold some bitcoins and cover that difference as well, it makes zero sense.

I understand that they want to grow the company and that is why without selling anything, getting some more money and using that to buy some machines or buy some bitcoin would mean that the company will grow bigger, so it makes sense for the company itself, but it makes zero sense for the owners of the company who now sold a piece of their company for under what the real valuation for that company really is. If I had 20 million dollars and knew that this was the offer on the table, I wouldn't hesitate one second for buying it, you are in instant profit as soon as you buy it.
2518  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: do I still have a chance to get profit? on: August 05, 2021, 05:55:31 PM
until now the project from Entry is still running and the team is still actively responding, but Entry can only be sold and bought at Entry exchange (don't have any other exchange besides their own exchange), while at Entry exchange doesn't have volume yet and Entry still doesn't have a price, so is there still a chance for me to get profit from Entry? because the team is still active and the project is still running.
If they are actively managing their project means, they should have taken steps to list their token/coin in some other exchanges as well. It means they are not that much actively running their business but they somehow making up you to believe that they are running their project actively. Still, you may get chances to get good profits for your holding but there cannot be any guarantee for that to happen so make yourself ready to face anything.

As per the famous saying: when you are investing only what you are afford to lose on the event of an unexpected thing then you would never need to worry about. I believe that you have invested only very little amount so it can wait or you can take whatever decision striking in your mind right away.
2519  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: August 05, 2021, 05:15:56 PM
Kylian Mbappe deny to extended and got new contract with PSG and become free transfer player next year, if want left this player by free transfer PSG will keep stay for this player and not get anything next year. Now only Real Madrid have rumors with this player but anything possible with Juventus to get this player sign, just sell Cristiano Ronaldo and get fresh money to buy Kylian Mbappe from PSG.

Why he  should leave from PSG? The contract is excellent, gets well paid, so he has nothing to complain about. Juventus will also not replace Ronaldo for Mbappa, because although Ronaldo is a senior player, he is a real leader on the field and leads the team. And Mbappe is just a good striker.
Because, he is not winning anything there? I mean that seems like a proper reason to leave PSG all together, if he believes that he could win champions league with some other club then he can leave for that team is as well. I am not saying that there is a much better club that can win a lot easier, but it is definitely not out of question neither.

Juventus on the other hand is paying a shit ton of money for players while not having any success at all, which is why I do not think that they actually have a chance, sure they may end up paying him as much as PSG is paying but if PSG can't win champions league this year, I do not see how Juventus could do that year after that, hence they are not really a candidate if you ask me. Real on the other hand is a bigger chance because even without Mbappe they went to semi-finals, and that means with Mbappe they may end up winning.
2520  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: August 04, 2021, 08:33:51 PM
Im kinda jealous for you guys who are able to see games in person live. For us Filipino fans, we need to travel thousands of miles plus the ticket lol. You gotta spend a lot to see them. The only time we can see NBA players in person is when they come visit here. I see few of them, but what I really want to see is the intense game in the arena especially during the playoffs.

Anyway, the Lakers is always fun to watch live since Kobe up until now.

Btw, any news about Kawhi Leonard possible destination?
I've heard rumors he might land in Utah or GSW.
The average cost for me to go to any game and watch it and come back is around 11k dollars, or more like 3 years of minimum wage. That should tell you how impossible for me to even "consider" something like that let alone actually do it, think about it we are talking about just 3 years of wage for going, watching, and coming back. I can't even afford nba official streaming service and illegally watch it from streams honestly.

However at the end of the day, NBA is just amazing and I would not miss it for the world, it is just THAT important in my life, I used to watch the replays from a horrible tv news show that simply had a sports section for half an hour everyday that included around 5 minutes of recap of each game and scores and maybe some moves if we are lucky (usually not even that), that was around 25 years ago, and I am still finding ways to keep track of my favorite sport, it is just amazing.
