1941  Economy / Economics / Re: Just my own thoughts on: February 11, 2022, 03:06:20 AM
There is a natural competition between bitcoin and fiat, as both are tools to fulfill the same objectives. If you use fiat for a purchase, bitcoin is being left aside, so it's losing territory, what makes fiat stay ahead on this competition. And the opposite also happens. That is, when someone adopts btc and replaces their investments and payments made with fiat previously for bitcoin currency.
It's inevitable this concurrence for hegemony and influence exist in the financial world between fiat and cryptocurrencies. And that is one good reason to explain why many governments' regulators are terrified by bitcoin potential.
That is not the case for me, when it comes to making use of Bitcoin and Fiat I make use of both in positions where I feel they are going to be more useful. For my daily transaction I mostly make use of the Fiat, but when it comes to international transactions, that is when I start to consider making use of crypto currencies.

Because, making use of cryptocurrency for an international transaction means that it would be fast and also have less cost than when I am making use of Fiat or having to go to the bank to fill out lots of papers and pay high fees and also wait for days before the transaction arrives to where I’m sending it to. so it’s up to you the user, there is no competition involved, whatever you feel is best for you that’s what you should do.
1942  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Test Cricket Prediction and Discussion Thread [self - mod] on: February 10, 2022, 08:39:15 PM
In my opinion, Australia should not have any problems visiting Pakistan for a tour at the moment because the security looks quite good right now. I'm so nothing has happened during the PSL too. If Australia backs out now I think it will be just a case of overthinking or probably some players being scared. I don't think it should be any problem to tour Pakistan and the Pakistan government should also provide the right security too.
PSL is going without any issue and many foreigners are also enjoying specially from England which is very good sign for all others and recently there were few rumours about two players that these both have some concerns about this tour, and they can pull out of this tour but after having meeting with CA authorities and good communications from Australian Cricketers Association about this tour now these both are also going for this tour atmosphere is good as few Australian legendary players are also praising about this tour because now they are feeling things are much better security is also very improved, so they all can go ahead without any issue.

Good thing Ramiz Raja PCB current Chairman and Prime Minister Imran Khan both have very good ties with few Aussies which are helping for the success of this tour.
1943  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain gaming is the way of the future. on: February 10, 2022, 08:27:20 PM
Everyone has boredom at some point. Just because blockchain gaming is currently going mainstream, their market is blowing up because even someone who is not a gamer based will take part in earning, they don't really enjoy the game. If one day the gaming market has receded due to the presence of something else that is more profitable, people will start to leave it and only true gamers will be survive in this industry.
If they got bored they will stop playing but if they have a true passion for games, they will comeback again to play. Type of game is also important for a gamer. Of course, they will get tired for a game that is boring or if the game doesn't keep on updating to add more elements on the game to make the game more exciting.

We have good nft games at the moment, axie for example but many players are complaining for the drop of the slp price and they make this an excuse to stop playing the game. its clear that this people are not true gamer's but they are only in for the hype and for the earnings. Now they are switching to other nft games that value does not drop yet.
1944  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I gave 100$ of Bitcoin to my elder brother as a gift on: February 10, 2022, 06:52:51 PM
I would say it is in fact a smart decision to gift your loved ones bitcoin. As now he is aware of the basics, he can use it to earn more profits. You have clearly shown him a good path for his future endeavours.
making Bitcoin a bond of brotherhood and inheritance must be done immediately by anyone, especially those who are in the crypto world, don't be stingy to share bitcoins with relatives, especially when your brother has a difficult economy.
Right it must be done as soon as possible because we don't know if how long we are staying in this world. As long as we are still here, let's continue to find ways of how we can use our BTC to the fullest. If your brothers financial status is not really that healthy, chances are your mother, father and your other siblings have the same status when it comes to their finance.

You should help them next or better if you prioritize your parents because they have done sacrifices when your still a baby and now that they are older, it is time for you to return the favour. Time have changed because before we are using money as a medium to this but its time to level up things.
1945  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Giving Bitcoin to Employees on: February 10, 2022, 05:58:03 PM
Sorry --- the employees will retain their fiat pay checks.

The intent is to give them BTC for future savings and growth.  Since there likely isn't much of a return for employees in the future with traditional pensions, perhaps they will have better luck with the growth of BTC they personally hold for the long term.
So that the reason on why you do concluded out on this kind of decision? Have you consider out on asking them if they would really be prepared on accepting something like that?

You wouldnt know unless you do try and speaking about future savings and growth then we do know the potential neither those employee of yours whether they do really accept
the risk or not.

Neither they could have it on their personal wallets or something that you do recommend on.
Given the option, everyone would pick the money in their pocket right now, so that they could decide on what they could invest into. If they want bitcoin then they would do it anyway, if they want something else then they will do something else. If however you "force" them by simply giving it, then there is nothing that you are taking away at all.

You are simply giving something extra and that is fine if you ask me. If my boss told me "everything will stay the same, I will just add bitcoin pension on top of it all" then I would accept it without a heartbeat, not like there is anything to accept since it is all free. So, the method is the important one, not giving choice part.
1946  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: People Overthink Potential of Bitcoin on: February 10, 2022, 04:32:32 PM
Government had played soft with bitcoin for a long time and the news this morning that the US government hold $3.6 billiion is just damn to bullish on the long term. Bitcoin is more of an SOV, very few use cases but a guaranteed digital asset with low risk as long as you hold. Bitcoin is no more a discovery, it more than an invention and adoption cant be controlled anymore.
They are doing that play style because they knew that they can get benefit with bitcoin. They don't ban it directly, instead they allow it but they put some restrictions. That's surprising that USA government is joining the bitcoin game? What we thought all the time is USA are allergic with bitcoins but the amount of bitcoins they hold is impressive. I wont call it bullish because I do not know if what rate they bought their btc's and btc is volatile, the value can go down even on long term so no the risk is not low but it can be bigger the more money you put in. Bitcoin is both a discovery and invention. Adoption on the other hand can be controlled by the governments .
1947  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Turkish Super League & 1. League 2021/22 Season on: February 09, 2022, 09:31:26 PM
Even though I can say you are sort of right about self-confidence, I also agree with lixer. Galatasaray built terrible roster, mainly because they think last year's team is functioning and good enough so they only got some players to fix specific positions. But it failed. Only because players from last year are literally terrible. Fenerbahçe did it better renewing squad.
Unfortunately Fatih Terim has always been known to get his kind of players and he was never good at roster engineering. I do not remember too many times he found a gem for cheap that turned out to be a great player, he always spends money on local players who are not good enough and pay a lot for them and almost always turns out to be not enough of a player. Right now Galatasaray have players that we could have seen from anatolian clubs usually, or even second division (named first ironically).

So, with a new management, new manager, and new players, in a few years there is nothing stopping them from becoming the best team again, but it will take a while before that happens.
1948  Economy / Economics / Re: India's 30% tax on income from digital asset on: February 09, 2022, 09:32:42 AM
There's one positive thing about this that now government is thinking of taking tax which indirectly implies that it's fine for traders and investors to trade in cryptocurrency and the fear of a complete ban on all trades and holding crypto is gone by huge amount. But the tax is a bit too high? Seems so, the clarifications are not very transparent either, maybe I didn't read them in details yet but I think for many, that if the tax is 30% on profit, which means one gets to keep 70% profit which might be fine, specially those who are having huge amount invested since gains on crypto are lots higher when they get up and in the bull market but middle class traders will pay a lot of price and many might quit trading in crypto, all we need is now to wait and see how the regulation is implemented Smiley
being taxed but crypto is now allowed is better than not being tax and no cryptos at all at least they can still earn something and experience if what is using cryptos feels like. Almost all of us here have the same impression about the percentage put on tax, it was too high and this hurts a lot for a small time traders and investors but then again they do not have no choice but to accept it  because at least crypto is now legal on their country.

I wonder why rules like this only happens on a much poorer countries like India but on other countries where i say a bit more wealthy, they do not implement taxes yet on cryptocurrencies. Oh well, let's hope for the greater good on those countries.
1949  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: My Painting is now NFT on: February 09, 2022, 04:52:28 AM
I have made it with hard work.
Check it out. And comment.
How is it?
I checked the link and was it the NFT your offering, the one in as short video? Or it was only a preview but your offering a non video NFT? In the video it shows a finish product but I am expecting a footage where you are doing the actual work. You better add that kind of preview because that can gain confidence to a buyer that the painting are really made from scratch by you. The painting looks simple and your pricing is too expensive, it is 10 eth?

I think you should lower this a bit like 0.5 eth or lower than that. Sorry if this is too low for you but I think that is only its worth for now but who knows maybe it got popular and the demand will get higher. That's the time to up their price.
1950  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Turkish Super League & 1. League 2021/22 Season on: February 09, 2022, 02:33:46 AM
Galatasaray's performance in this match was very poor. I was happy if Alanyaspor won this match. Galatasaray is an experienced team and their defense is good enough so they were able to draw the match and not concede more goals. But throughout the match I liked the performance of Alanyaspor's players. They have been able to attack more than that in Galatasaray. If Juanfran had not received the red card, they might have won the match.
Honestly the roster galtasaray has is not even close to being enough to compete in this league. Which is mind boggling considering they have spent so much money to build this roster. I do not know what they were thinking and how they did it, but they somehow managed to spend more than most teams and still build a roster that is worse than most teams.

Mismanagement is definitely something that have been bugging them for a few years now, and the roster they have is just beyond stupid, something that we could build in Football Manager with the same funds would have been a lot better than this if you ask me. In any case, we could see them at least getting a point after many weeks, that is an "improvement" for them to say the least, but not enough at all.
1951  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: French Soccer League Predictions and Discussion Thread (Ligue 1) on: February 08, 2022, 05:35:51 PM
In barcelona messi was more of a winger. He wasn't the main stricker, i think messi was more pronounced in barcelona because he had a good team mate who played a 1,2 game style. If you watch closely Barca don't hold on to ball for too long, no much time to dribble except in cases of close marking. But in PSG every player wants to be the main point of contact and this is why they keep struggling despite having star players
Barcelona and PSG completely different clubs and have nothing common, so we can't compare these both Barcelona is really classical and have completely different environment and here in PSG they are along in best finances and having too many advantages in French League.

But, Barcelona having too many challenges recently they have done amazing job come from behind and now staying at fourth with having good chance to jumping into third, but we are talking about style of play which is also really great at Barcelona and PSG is mostly having few players those love to do things individually which is hurting them very badly with this mind and approach they are fail to have good winning combination despite having too many world-class players in their squad which can bring some lethal combination for many big teams but need change of mind set and better planning.
1952  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is difference between HODL and staking? on: February 07, 2022, 06:06:56 PM
The two terms actually have almost the same goal, namely to earn income without having to carry out trading activities. if HODL we aim to hold the coins we have until we sell them at the price we want. while in staking, we bet the coins we have without having to do anything in the time that the project has created. and the amount of income depends on the number of coins we have
That if the person is hodling or staking for long term but what if not? And what if the person is itchy to touch his asset? He will just sold his coins if he is holding it or he will just unstake his coins in a staking platform to get his profit and then he will start all over again. What he was doing is not staking or hodling anymore but what he was doing is like trading, it makes no sense.

We should ask our selves first if what is our goal so that we know if what activity is best for us because we can stick with that. If there are difference between staking and holding I think I would say that holding is easier and more accessible and allows you to earn more.
1953  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: T20 and T20I cricket prediction and discussion on: February 07, 2022, 10:52:45 AM
The franchises were not banned. They were given a temporary suspension of two years and after that they were re-admitted into the IPL. In case of Raj Kundra, he just transferred the ownership of the franchise to his wife (Shilpa Shetty) and Mr. Meiyappan also did the same by transferring the shares to his wife (Rupa Gurunath, the daughter of N Srinivasan). I would call this as inadequate punishment. And mafia don Srinivasan was kicked out by the supreme court, and not because of the betting scandal. NDA won the elections in 2014 and that was what actually caused the downfall of Srinivasan (who is affiliated to the UPA).
With this all we can understand now this betting mafia is working all under control of political influence which is deadly because politicians are very strong currently in India and no one can give them challenge and surely this is going to be very productive for them and these franchise owners like they have some very good benefits from film industry through underworld in last few decades and finances is also surely going to increase so many other boards and players will be happy to enjoy their spot here in IPL.

Just because of this all now ICC is also favouring this event with having window for them and not taking any complaints and just pushing other weak boards for tough restrictions and rules.
1954  Economy / Economics / Re: Facebook ("Meta") down 25% in a day on: February 06, 2022, 05:21:54 PM
FB lost users for the first time and they heavily invested in the future of META which don't look like a good bet to me. All I see is a dead company which refuses to acknowledge its status. Companies rise and fall all the time. People cheered up a lot when Myspace died and FB took over... Guess what, FB is not invincible neither. Something else is killing FB. (Tiktok?) Paypal is also dying and leaving lots of sorry af bagholders behind.

There are too many of those overvalued companies in the markets. One down, many left.
That's weird if someone is happy with the fall of others but i think the one that is happy the most are the owner of the rival company because they can now finally won the competition but the users of the platform were sad because they cannot access their accounts again and it looks like the karma have finally come to facebook. They are now doing what they can to be able to save their beloved company.

They even changed its name because they think people will embrace it but it seems that it was still not enough. On the other hand I do not think paypal is also going to die because there are still users of it and bitcoin or cryptos is not yet accepted on most online stores.
1955  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A little reminder why Bitcoin is necessary on: February 05, 2022, 06:26:54 AM
how does bitcoin help in cases like this? Terms and conditions like this exists almost everywhere. They can change or terminate the Terms of service anytime they want. They are not bound to keep it the same nor are they forced to inform their users when the terms and conditions changes (but almost all platforms do notify their users out of goodwill). If a platform doesn't like you they can give you the "boot" if they want. Lets say you want to buy something from a crypto store. You make a deposit or make the payment. The online crypto store doesn't like you and bans your account as per their ToS. You lose your coins. Bitcoin couldn't protect you from events like this. Plan to do a p2p transaction then? You send the money, the person doesn't like you, he scams you. You can't do anything about that.
This was only a miss interpretation. They cant ban someone just because they do not like the person and what is their basis on why they do not like that person? Because, their profile picture is ugly? No, but they will only ban you once you have done something that are against their rules. Let us not be paranoid because we are going to be just fine as long as you are following their basic rules and your not doing shady things

OP compares btc to paypal because btc has no central authority while paypal was owned by a team or a group of people and they can do whatever they want with your funds but the situation still depends and you already explained that in more elaborated manner.
1956  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Braintrust. Your opinion? on: February 04, 2022, 08:32:11 PM
After the initial spike of this 2021 Alt, I has only declined. Connecting freelancers is it's mission. Should I hold?
Doesn’t really seem like the kind of project I would like to invest in. If you feel it is going to be worth it for you in the future, well it’s up to you. But for me, I am going to really avoid that kind of coin because, like someone has pointed out in the comment, the freelancing sector is one of the unnoticed, so investing in this coin with the hope that it is going to yield lots of profit back to you is probably going to be like you’re wasting your time.

And if I’m going to be talking about top freelancing platforms that are already out there and bigger than this, it is a big competition that this would end up getting swallowed by the bug ones.
1957  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum is deflationary? on: February 04, 2022, 08:04:00 PM
No, it's not. And it won't be I think. It's inflation will be quite low though, and this will help ETH price to grow in the long run - that's for sure. Bitcoin is a bit deflationary - because of the lost coins.
Nah, that’s not true, Ethereum is also deflationary. If you have been following up you would know that ETH has been burning a lot of coins. The last time that I checked they have burned about 1.5 million Ether according to my source, which was more than the number of ETH was created that week. This started since the EIP-1559 introduced a new burning mechanism in the ETH platform. But normally like you have said, the inflation would be low even if it wasn’t deflationary, because they set a more predictable transaction fees in an effort to lower the rate of congestion on the network.
1958  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will be the next big industry move? on: February 04, 2022, 06:39:07 PM
The next big thing for the industry has to be casinos in the metaverse right? I’m sure every casino on the Vegas strip has a room full of coders slapping together the framework for their own metaverses. Virtual reality tech has gotten to the point where things like Walmart’s demonstration of their metaverse will be a reality for every big company. Gambling seems like one of the more obvious beneficiaries of this move and I think it will become a major use case for crypto in 5-10 years.
In the metaverse world, we can do anything we want virtually but the experience wont be complete without of course playing a gambling inside it so this is possible. Almost every new projects that we see now has a relation to metaverse but usually they are video game's and I rarely saw a gambling site so far but in the upcoming months and years why not? But, before the metaverse craze came out I already saw a minecraft game where you can play gambling inside it.

It was so cool but there is only one game it can support. That might be the reason why it is not really that successful but it is not too late for them to continue developing the game .
1959  Economy / Speculation / Re: How come BTC is not at least $75,000 yet? on: February 04, 2022, 03:58:58 PM
We recently saw the market trying to attempt the price of the bitcoin at the 70k usd but again it depends on the holder and investor if they keep trying to support the market. We saw previously another dump and it affects the economic issue which is the market dump and decline of Russia to support the use of the bitcoin. Another chance to make it attempt for another ATH is the newcomer investors.
They did not know that btc is trying its best to come up in a price where it can it meet our expectations but unfortunately other factors are much stronger than btc. We have die hard supporters that will keep on holding their btc and there are only less sellers which can have an impact on the price of btc but I think it was the manipulators and the whales that keeps on pulling the price.

I do not think the decline of the price has to do with Russia because if I am not mistaken we are already on the dump before the issue of Russia came out but that news was not new, it is like china that bans bitcoin and then re allow it again. We still have a hope for btc to touch greater prices in the future.
1960  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2022 NBA Season on: February 03, 2022, 08:28:21 PM
This has been a trend from the start of the season that Howard has been playing insanely well in every match but he is only given 10 to 15 minutes of playtime which is very unfair to him.

If he's played more the Lakers would have been in a better position that's for sure. He managed 10 points and 7 rebounds in on 11 minutes last game and if he's given at least 25 minutes, he could easily double that stats. I don't know what the problem is, maybe it's an internal clash or political reasons but it needs to be fixed soon.
The thing is Vogel is an analyst coach, which means that he takes a look at the numbers they have and the numbers other teams have and watches game tape and tries to figure out plays and ways to stop it and so forth.

Basically he wants to win the game before it even starts. We have seen plenty of videos that explains how this is done, Lakers even shared a video of it themselves but the reality is that he still fails to see how great Howards could be. He sees Lebron at Center, he sees AD at Center who doesn't want to be there, and he still fails to see Howard there. I would have been long gone if I was Howard, he doesn't deserve to get this little amount of minutes, he is acted as if he is a washed terrible player but he is still good enough if you ask me.
