The chosen PoW/PoS parameters have resulted in most of the blocks being generated by PoS now. It seems to be working and usable. But it's almost impossible to mine using PoW.
Did it by chance went way ahead on the road to long term energy-efficiency and resistance against attacks?
Or will it go on to some hard forks?
I don't know what heck is going on here, I mined one day and 99% are orphans, got only 2 good blocks. Are we attacked? |

 A grain is a unit of measurement of mass that is nominally based upon the mass of a single seed of a cereal. From the Bronze Age into the Renaissance the average masses of wheat and barley grains were part of the legal definition of units of mass. Grain (GRA) Grain is a PoW/PoS coin that is designed to be the unit of cyber-coin. It has a total of 50 billion unit to be released, through a fair p2p mining process. It is fast, secure and have sufficient coins for circulation so it can be used in real daily shopping. Grain is from the family of PPCoin/Novacoin with latest available algorithms that fixed various problems in the PoW/PoS coins. As compared to the PoW only coins, the proof of stake coins are more resilient to 51% attack. Also it is a long term energy-efficient crypto-currency since not all coins are obtained by mining. Each grain block provides random 1024 - 2048 grains initially. It also provides rare superblocks. The coin uses hash-based algorithm to determine superblocks based on the number of 9s in the previous block hash. It works as follows: - the hash contains six 9s or less: regular block - the hash contains seven or eight 9s: 8 times the regular block (about 5% chances) - the hash contains nine or more 9s: 64 times the regular block (about 1% chances) Premined 1% as reserved bounty and reward for developers, giveaway, pool, blockexplorer, etc. Grain also provides 5% annual interest on the grained held. The interest will be paid about every 2 weeks. How to Solo Mine1. Start up grain-qt, wait for it to load, then exit. 2. Put grain.conf (see sample file above) in your c:/users/**yourcomputername**/AppData/Roaming/Grain 3. restart grain-qt, and you should connect and sync. 4. I see a lot interests in trading Zeuscoin, but no exchange list it? It's insane. I saw some exchanges listed those coins I never heard of, with Zeuscoin the most voted in cryptsy survey, no exchange list it? they don't want the business? It's beyond me...

Maybe now that cryptsy has updated their website, they'll start adding coins again. I would think Zeu would be next on the list. That is, if they're basing their decision on what coins to add on the merit and popularity of the coins.

On the subject of the block explorer, does anyone know of a service with servers in Vietnam that would be making regular requests for Infinitecoin's blockcount from the block explorer? Their requests seem to be causing problems...I've already had to ban 3 Vietnamese IPs in the last few weeks which I presume all belong to the same service, and I may have to ban another unless I can contact them to get them to sort out their requests.
Updated: I've had to ban the 4th Vietnamese IP as it was causing bad lockups with the explorer in the same way as the other 3 were. If you run a service from Vietnam that has been trying to query the explorer, please PM me.
This sounds more like an attack than a service... BTW, I've been mining IFC with TreasureSeeker's p2p pool, no problem at all. All the coins mined can be transferred to cryptsy and trade, I don't see forks. |
