The irony is all the idiots influenced by this hodl bullshit have no money to buy coins with. Grin

Some of us have paychecks you know... I mean for jobs in the outside world - not feeding from the fear and hope of others for a living like quite a few experts and traders here!  Wink

Right time for bed. Made about 5% extra BTC today, and even though I can see it sliding a little further, I sleep better holding BTC. Enjoy everyone!

Another trader goes to bed happy! Sleep tight!  Smiley
1783  Economy / Speculation / Re: The philosophy of buying when others panic sell... on: January 07, 2014, 10:38:17 PM
The problem with this is you don't know how low its going to go. I've been thinking "panic sale" ever since $1015.

I think this one is closing now and we will look back at it as a subdued sell-off compared with previous ones.

We react less and less to medium-strength Chinese news now.

We are getting PLENTY of positives in the US etc.

The biggest fear - a global ban - that was an unknown a year ago is now banished for good. This WILL play into market psychology (EDIT: significantly with very noticeable results on bubbles etc. [for the quote he he!  Cheesy] ) from now on. You can quote me on that later as much as you like!  Smiley

Too bad I have no fiat to spare

I bought more LTC and NMC an hour ago and it went down even further and still going.... and I just realized that China has yet to wake up today and the prices will probably continue to sink more. Terrible decision on my part. Fuck

So much for $2000/btc in January... China keeps making us crash

Listen man. This might sound a bit silly saying this as if it's personal advice but try to give up worrying about China! It's a red herring when it comes to Bitcoin - at this stage it is not a fundamental technical or business-related problem for Bitcoin; it is purely a psychological one!

Ay yi yi.  I am beginning to think this is all just a grand conspiracy to screw with me.

It's all true.

LOL! How I thought that at the beginning!  Cheesy
1786  Economy / Speculation / Re: I AM HODLING on: January 07, 2014, 10:26:35 PM
Half of me says buy and half of me says sell. Guess what that means?

If what I believe you are saying is what you are actually saying, then I agree with what you think it means!  Wink
1787  Economy / Speculation / The philosophy of buying when others panic sell... on: January 07, 2014, 10:25:17 PM
This is the moment all buyers wait for.

Advice to those fearful. Just Hodl!  Wink  (That means hold on to your Bitcoin and don't worry for any of you new folk who might be wondering).

The fear transfers to the buyers... who today, with Bitcoin going mainstream this year, more than ever WILL get in once the selling calms down.

This is the eternal law of the Bitcoin market!

Good luck to you all!  Smiley

I'm still confident that it won't hit your target, not least of all because you just pulled a number out of your ass.

No pump and dump.

Just people panicking as always.

I always ask myself, do I want to sell my coins to all those traders who just sold off and expect to buy back in cheaper?

NO WAY!!  Grin

HODL ON!!

1792  Economy / Speculation / Re: I bought all my bitcoin over $1,000 on: January 07, 2014, 10:09:55 PM
The fact that it recovered to almost $1000 WITHOUT the massive chinese support in about a month should really say something about bitcoin's growth and stability though.  China made up a huge portion of the bitcoin population/ecosystem and was largely responsible for bitcoin's explosive growth in November, but now we see that the void is getting filled up at a good pace and will continue to expand worldwide.

What the fk are ya talking about boy!?

65% of current Bitcoin trades are done in CNY.

How much skin do you have in the game anyhow? 05 BTC?

Misinformation comments like this contribute to people losing money.

MatTheCat if you have money to buy get ready now. Things will go back up quicker than you think! You know you tend to be a bit too negative at times? Well watch out!

1795  Economy / Speculation / Re: Global economy forecasts say that 2014 will be great. Is this good or bad for BT on: January 07, 2014, 10:00:04 PM
So almost all global economy forecasts that I've read are very optimistic about global economy in 2014. Is this good or bad for BTC? I have this impression that BTC attracts more people when there are risks of financial trouble around the world.

My 2 cents? Bitcoin is going to boom. Absolutely. The fear of it not being accepted is gone now in many countries. This was the biggest psychological barrier.
1796  Economy / Speculation / Re: I bought all my bitcoin over $1,000 on: January 07, 2014, 09:57:32 PM
Don't worry. Bitcoin is on the cusp of mainstream business in the US.

http://www.cnbc.com/id/101316945

Believe me there is a whole lot of room for Bitcoin to grow in this country alone. Vast spaces as Bitcoin is a multi-faceted asset.

You will be feeling fine very soon!

PS There are many in your position and I am in from the upper hundreds. I am holding for the long-term.
1797  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 07, 2014, 09:53:27 PM
China will be waking soon... They will sell because everyone else is... 750

Chinese stay glued to their screens 24/7  Cheesy
1798  Economy / Speculation / Re: Major volume trading going on! on: January 07, 2014, 09:52:36 PM
What way will it go in the next 12 hours? Will it go further down?

Depends how many people panic!  Smiley

If it goes down it will be subdued though and won't stay there for long.
1799  Economy / Speculation / Re: Consolidating Trend -- A Page From Arepo's Notes on: January 07, 2014, 09:08:36 PM

my methods were thoroughly tested throughout this, and many other posts. i know that you are a bit new to this but price targets are generally only given through subscription services and other paid means. this is in part because of the game-theoretic complications the information asymmetry causes. if you were asking any other kind of question, i probably would not have proposed a bounty. further, im not just releasing this information to you, im releasing it to the entire forum. if 8 people want the price target, it'll only cost you 0.01 BTC each, a sum which you should easily be able to make back if the information is accurate.

if you really just want to "test" my methods, i'd be happy to pm you, personally, the answers to your questions for an amount which we can settle. what is this information worth to you, my friend?

Thanks for the offer - really - but I think I'll just leave it.

The chances are it will be clear whether you are right or not compared to what I think and have explained. If we end up in the middle - then so be it!  Smiley
