Short $850

For someone called "The Bitcoin Foundation" you don't seem very responsible to me.

A monkey could SHOTR bitcoin now and become extremely wealthy. All he'd have to do is just read all the confirmed bad news, preferably in Russian and Chinese.
Actually, a monkey couldn't short Bitcoin right now cos although the option exists, it seems that nobody is willing to 'loan' the Bitcoins required for a short trade..... .....and why would they? Loaning Bitcoins to a short seller would be very bad business for the Bitcoin owner. Bitcoin market needs to grow a whole lot more before things like 'shorting' become a tenable and viable option. Actually shrotting is already available. I'm surprised you don't know this!

I am seeing a pattern in these triangles, the angles are very telling on each, they point to $180. We are massively overvalued right now. Ha ha ha! You can tell the bears are getting panicky when all the triangles come out! Pythagoras must be rolling in his grave!

my buy orders less than 1% below current price die bitch die
If all else fails screaming obscenities at the screen will do the trick!

Once again, how, where, and when the FBI dumps these coins is secondary to the sentiments of traders. The FBI is likely to auction the coins off, but if you were a whale with 1-2 million in bitcoin would you bet a fortune on that?
Odds are most people would even bet a few hundred on the government acting responsibly with 25 million dollars. God knows they haven't in the past!
So the point, as always, is how will the traders view this?
Most traders and just regular people on this forum seem to have understood this already. In fact it has been discussed for weeks now. They will auction them. People from this forum actually made offers to them. I am afraid that in this case you really have not read up on here before making your report. EDIT: ... Or scenario no. 2: This is simply FUD. You have made a nice website. Don't get a reputation for biased analysis otherwise it's a waste.

Bullshit! OMFG T.Stuart. Either you wisen up or you are gonna go down a fucking powder! I bet this will all be timed for the China exit at the end of the month. Get Karhu out here MatTheCat: maybe he'll convince me!

The green shoots of spring are everywhere to be found, yet the almighty Karhu dances all over the top of them. Give up thy Bitcoins Seek ye refuge in thee alms of Karhu $785, a significant bid wall on Bitstamp has been struck, I aint trying to trade it though cos things are far too tight to compete with the bots whose programs are telling them the market is going down....Grind down to $765 is next, and when that falls, then it will be the low $700s, hopefully with a bit of volatility so I can trade fruitfully amongst the bots. That's a good idea! Wheel Karhu out again! He'll turn this thing around for us! LOL

As we every so slowly sink into the accumulation zone as I type this.
Time for you to "accumulate" your coins then!

One thing's for sure looking at all this: Bitcoiners sure know how to HODL these days! Man that's an impressive sight!

Oh! I didn't realise at first but the OP is the analyst from Wall Street Crypto. Considering he made a prediction of a catastrophic crash a couple of weeks back which is really dragging its heels now... Actually no, it must just be a coincidence that he's making new drama threads about things that everyone already knows about!
|
|
|
This has been discussed ad infinitum already. They will sell at auction with no effect on exchange prices. Just like the off exchange sales that go on all the time. FUD by OP!

Interesting. I'm not holding my breath anymore, this latest consolidation period has shown quite a bit of resistance both on the way up and on the way down, but at least we've 6h closed now (across 2 exchanges, nonetheless) below what I think of as a relevant trend. Mtgox not playing along though... we'll see, I guess. If mtgox closes below ~890, and bitstamp below 800, I'd say we'll finally see a breakout (downwards). If not... back to the guessing game I don't know whether to take this as confidence in current price level or not. My sentiment is that China has oddly added some stability with their last release restatement of their stance...guess we can just wait to see how this .. plays out towards the end of the month Sideways for a few more days. When the veil of "China-fear" lifts from in front of so many people's eyes market sentiment will follow.

A lot of people are waiting another week to see what will happen with China. My prediction: the market won't move but then start creeping up when people realize the Chinese New Year horror story has no substance.
Only people with no fiat left talk like this You bought in too high and can't buy more. But the price will drop at least 30% till end of february. It will quickly recover, but it will be one of the best buying opportunities till Q3 2014. Ha ha Branson! You again! Care to enlighten us with the arguments behind your thinking?

Another refusal to panic sell... Well well fiat-hodlers, isn't that something!

Maybe I am naive on the subject, but I thought that it was common knowledge that withdrawing from Gox is a terrible nightmare that routinely takes several months, if not longer. Traditionally, this is the sort of behavior that occurs in failing enterprises that cannibalize their deposits to pay for ongoing expenses until there is no money left.
There is at least one decent exchange (cough Bitstamp cough) and it's not like a Gox collapse means the end of Bitcoin, but still, when I look at the upcoming disasters that are at least somewhat foreseeable, Gox seems like the biggest one out there.
I don't think it is actually considered to be up there with the top-of-the-list impending doom scenarios (which are FYI 1. China, 2. China, 3. China, etc.). But exchanges do come and go: recent occurences (eg Hong Kong http://www.theregister.co.uk/2013/12/04/bitcoin_scammers_gbl_caught_china/) have not sparked crashes. But it is true that Gox is a well-known exchange. Still, in terms of the effect on market sentiment at the least, I wouldn't give the Gox-down scenario much importance at the moment.

I for once will be here long after you abolish this newest sockpuppet account. Yes, you do have a certain air of immortality, I'll give you that.
