My core i7 Linux PC 4 cores delivers 200 H/s using Wolf miner
It is just a simple example to see how slow a botnet-controlled computer is.
Wonder when the DRK bubble will poop while Monero naturally taking its spot .

Actually the recent drk developments have drastically reduced the bloat - there is no need to divide every tx. Darkcoin is constantly evolving and improving. On the average a drk send tx gets divided mroe than 3 times, which is worse than mixin 3, the most used mixin, which offers clearly a higher anonymity than drk Mixing itself causes no bloat. Change causes a very small amount of bloat. Far, far less than CN. |

Do you guys even read these coins' respective threads? It's blatantly obvious from the Monero thread that there remains a mountain of work to be done, just to achieve reasonable usability. It's comparable to Bitcoin in early 2010. Just be aware of that. For the sake of your money, please read the thread and see the volume of bugs, defecits and other issues with the code. Of course I don't expect most of you to take this advice. You'll call me a troll and continue existing in your blissful delusion, where Monero is perfect.
Monero will take up to 2 years to achieve real world usability, and even then, the bloat will be crippling.

dga, I'm not denying Moore's law (although things aren't looking good for processors...). Hard drive sizes will eventually make block chain size less of an issue. I just hope you're ok with waiting 5+ years for that to happen. All in the vain hope for "more anonymity". We won't get true anonymity until we have open source hardware. Hope you're ok with waiting anywhere up to 20 years. In the meantime, Darkcoin will deliver privacy that meets 99.9% of peoples' need for "anonymity".
I don't expect any of the coins under discussion to achieve substantial real-world impact in the next 12 months. Do you? Define substantial. I expect to see perhaps 10% of Bitcoin's transaction volume. |

By using multiple nodes, the practicality of node collusion can be eliminated. Why the hell should someone run/use masternodes if u can archive way better anonymity without them. Theres simply no reason and will never be. In regards to Anonymint, when he speaks I would pay attention. He is at genius / near genius levels when it comes to cryptography and math. If he says it cannot scale, it cannot scale. The blockchain CANNOT be pruned anywhere near enough for it to be a practical, anonymous currency.
Can you support your claim that a large blockchain makes it not practical or anonymous? With a 50% or more reduction in size, CrytoNote's blockchain bloat will be only slightly more than Bitcoin's blockchain bloat. Certainly not right now. In 5 or more years, who can say. OK 5 years? DRK security issues are much more urgent What people prefers: + XMR or BBR's blockchain is bloated. It is larger than Bitcoin's + DRK is insecure.
