I'm worried about Vericoin taking buys away from XMR. How much of this downturn do you guys think is related to sells who went on to buy VRC? What's a good argument to convince people to hold XMR over VRC?
It looks like smart money is already moving from VRC to XMR and eventually XC. I wouldn't consider someone who invests in either of those three to be very smart. Unless they do so temporarily as a way to increase their BTC, of course. |

Why do you assume that they must be different people? Masternode holders ARE ALSO the most active darkcoin miners. Even if mining alone is not profitable.... why should a masternode holder not also be a miner himself? Suddenly makes the whole endeavour seem VERY profitable, doesn't it? In either case, an entity with the will and resources could create hashpower in secret. It would just be more difficult with an even playing field (cpu/gpu). I don't think there's a solution to this problem as of yet. Asics only become problematic when manufacturers decide to mine, rather than sell. Look at KNC.

Has anyone looked at Vitalik Buterin's recent article on Bitcoin centralization? Might be worth considering some of his suggestions. One of his solutions to asics was to use a pool of about 1000 algorithms that would randomly switch. With such an implementation, designing an asic would be rendered impractical.

XC is a plan copy off of Darkcoin and its a disgrace....it doesnt even copy right since its xnodes?anonymity dont function. I agree its no copy, if XC was a copy of DRK then we would have already had about 3 emergency hard forks... This is not an argument, but a display of ignorance. Just informing you. How so? It's a fact and I understand trolls don't know what that is but darkcoin has had emergency hard forks. What's being implemented is completely unique to crypto. Because it's alpha software, expecting perfection right from the start is ridiculous. Also, the forks are caused by people who fail to update, rather than through the developer's fault. So bringing this up as if it's a negative is just a public demonstration of your expansive ignorance. |
