Can make a video after fork. i can do windows single masternode and windows multimasternode. Need to learn more linux before making that guide.

That would be fantastic. I will extend the bounty another 200 to whoever makes one for linux. I would like to start a contest. To enter, you have to submit a badass signature in this thread for all member levels. We have plenty of members here, including myself, that would love to rock an 8bit sig. I haven't decided when the contest will be up, but the community will vote on what one they like the best. The winner gets 800 8bit. (If you really did go above and beyond (look at the cryptocircuits sigs or the shadowcash sigs...they rock)). If it's just good, you get 300. Get to it!

So it looks like we have 1,500 for the dev and 400 for masternode setup video.
Nice to see us band together

New code will be released on Sunday, 23 Aug (UTC). I am still not sure about binaries. Will do my best to publish them with the new code.
I can't compile the binaries, but if you need to outsource them, I'm offering to pay that person 300 8bit i will pay the 300 8 bit for 8 bit party.... I still have 500 for him... IF he wants it

No i have no idea lol, currently 8 weeks behind now. its moving just very slowly
It's because lack of checkpoints. If you are using Linux or if you are able to compile own Windows / Mac binary you will get insta speedup. No fud, but are you still on this project full-time? It appears that way... He had to iron out some issues with the network, but I think we are moving forward at this point. No one is in any real hurry, as we have all waited together as a community for months now. I've been monitoring his activity and he signs in to Bitcointalk every day...which is more than most developers can say. I'm pretty sure that 8-bit-party just doesn't like you. He has his reasons, and you know that. I know the dev seems aggressive, but honestly, I like that. I'm still team 8-bit-party. The guy has done more for this coin than anyone else in the past months. You know why he here everyday? looking at the thread, no complains no work need to be done. There is no action none. I;m watching GSY coin now, with a nice ingaming wallet looks promising with active developer! I don't know anyone motivated by complaints... Especially someone who's pro bono. Maybe he's working on something big for the next release... Maybe he's lazy... The fact is we just don't know. 8bit has the best branding for a coin of this nature. Period. But we can't go down from this point. I'm OK with his pace. It's not any slower than things have been.

Do you still need a video on setting up masternodes? I can do it within the next days if you still want/need it. To the ones wanting to donate for this, how many coins do you want to donate for this? Will do it anyway, to help out new investors wanting to setup nodes. Happy staking/masternoding!

I will give 200 8bit, but best to make the video after the fork IMO.

Any news about fork time?
Seems like I have to set deadline to force myself to finally do it. Dude...you get 1,500 8-bit for the fork... get on that!!!

Thanks dbt1033, it's a good idea...
That said, I THINK the wallet.dat was corrupted.
Luckily, I took a backup of it shortly after I built the wallet in the first place (I always do that, linux sysengineer by trade, I have no excuses for losing data), and threw it up on google drive. I'm reloading everything AGAIN. and we seem to be in business. At least I've started reloading without the bootstrap file, and it was able to pull from the network after doing a 8bitd importwallet <file>, after the first 5000 blocks or so, I've restarted it again with the bootstrap file, and we'll see how we do as it completes... Wish me luck.
Good luck sir! Report back to base camp with the results

So I've got this wallet, no worries, not the faucet's wallet. And the wallet throw's a bunch of database errors and fails. a getinfo call returns this... error: {"code":-1,"message":"CDB : Error -30973, can't open database "} $ ~/bin/8bitd.sh stop terminate called after throwing an instance of 'std::runtime_error' what(): CDB : Error -30973, can't open database I see this in the db.log... BDB2517 Database environment corrupt; the wrong log files may have been removed or incompatible database files imported from another environment BDB0061 PANIC: BDB0087 DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery BDB3027 wallet.dat: unable to flush page: 15 BDB0060 PANIC: fatal region error detected; run recovery BDB0060 PANIC: fatal region error detected; run recovery BDB0060 PANIC: fatal region error detected; run recovery BDB2506 file wallet.dat has LSN 1/1407867, past end of log at 1/2567 BDB2507 Commonly caused by moving a database from one database environment BDB2508 to another without clearing the database LSNs, or by removing all of BDB2509 the log files from a database environment And EVERY block in the debug.log is showing up orphaned. I've tried everything I can think of, even blowing away all the files except the 8bit.conf and wallet.dat files and reloading the entire blockchain. To no avail... The blockchain will load from the bootstrap ok, and then fail to update from the network at all. I have over 200 8bit in that wallet (was a masternode until it crapped itself)... Any ideas? Here's an idea... Take the wallet.dat and temporarily switch it with a wallet.dat in a client that is working. Then use that client to sent the coins to another address in a fresh wallet. Might work, might not....just shootin the shit

I have a large wallet staking at this address. http://www.8-bit.party/BALANCE-8QmMx6FQc77ygcmm7HL35xsX6Nubox4dYeI will donate 500 coins to the dev at the end of each month to use as he sees fit (he can pocket it if he wants). The first donation will occur once the coin is successfully forked. The next payout will be at the end of September (assuming the coin is forked in August). This is contingent on continued development/transparency and at some point, innovation. I encourage others in this community to try and help out in any way they can, whether that be donating to the dev, funding the faucet, creating graphics, etc. If you have a contribution you can make, send me a PM and we can discuss potential funding for the implementation of that contribution. Stay classy 8-bit community.

Anyone heard anything about the issue with cryptsy? I tried to withdraw a bunch of 8bit almost 2 months ago and they never showed up on the block chain. Cryptsy has stopped responding to me.
hmmm... I was also affected by the problems at Cryptsy a few months ago, but I was able to withdraw when they put their wallet back online. I hope you didn't lose much if that's the case. They finally cancelled the withdraw just now, I have my coins back! So stoked, not a whole lot a lttle over 1300 though That's great news! That is exactly why I don't trade @ craptsy though.... Too much heartache, too many ruined keyboards...

This message is shown when somethings wrong with your masternode input. Check it.
i cant find the error I had the same problem once upon a time... Turns out my ISP was blocking the port. I ended up renting an AWS server.

ok have it , now i generate a mn , but in masternode network always is active 00m:00s ... my config looks so
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1 maxconnections=9 rpcuser=xxxxxx rpcpassword=xxxxx rpcport=15394 listen=1 server=1 deamon=1 staking=0 port=17100 masternodeaddr=188.104.8.148:17100 masternode=1 masternodeprivkey=privkey externalip=192.168.2.102
Maybe not the best idea to show your full config... It's fine, he excluded his private key.

OK, nice to see the decision is made. Even though it is very far from what I would prefer myself, but it reflects the common desires of the community, and that is the most important part. Now regarding the self-moderated thread suggestion: please forget about that! My take on this - NO! No self-moderation for this coin. It was open discussion since the very beginning, and this is why we have this great community here! Even without any misuse, the fact of self-moderation will create doubts in honesty of the Dev/Devs, which is unhealthy. This is especially true now for this specific coin, because there are still doubts regarding the intentions of 8-bit-party. The thread and discussion should remain as open as it could be, so those doubts could resolve themselves. Except that, 1. we don't really have FUDers here ( yes I mean that!). There are sceptics, and pissedoff people, but not blatant FUD 2. Strong community could easily survive fud and bash fudsters. I've seen it done on few other good coins, and I have done it myself too. 3. FUD is a great indication of interest, and is actually needed to keep community strong . If allFUDsters will be banished in real world, there will be no opposition, and society will be in bigger danger FUD on community is like wind on fire - it will kill the weak fire, and make the strong fire stronger. I believe this community is mature enough. Say NO to self-moderation! That's all I wanted to tell. I second this. No self moderated thread.
