have the PoS details changed or do you still have to hold for a year before you get your PoS interest?

It's still 1 year for 20%

Are you positive the staking will work?  has it been tested?  As of now you have plenty of time, but I'd make sure you don't get any surprises when that year comes around.

4503  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 08, 2014, 02:11:55 AM
can someone explain me why BTC-e has lower price for proximately 10$ than Bitstamp or Huobi ?

/tinfoil hat on

I have wondered about this as well. The only answer I can come up with that makes any sense is arbitrage. There appears to be a group or groups doing extended arbitrage between BTC-e and Bitstamp/Huobi and who knows where else. I have watched this for several weeks now and it is just to consistent to be coincidence imo. In the scenario I envision these groups have a few hundred to a few thousand BTC and do this daily taking $2,000-$20,000 profits out in fiat. Even with just 200 coins it's 60k a month, not bad profit.

Public service announcement:
Lose = be deprived of or cease to have or retain (something).
Loose = not firmly or tightly fixed in place; detached or able to be detached.

Edited- Thank you grammar poolice.  Kiss

Think if you wait a week we might see 350-375

But buying is a good long term call
I'm not sure we'll see it drop below 400, seems like there is a lot of buy support around 400

I will definitely buy more as soon as I see it under $400.

Sub $400 is not going to happen again imho.
4505  Economy / Speculation / Re: thinking about buying 5k in bitcoin on: May 06, 2014, 03:42:07 AM
I'd reccomend waiting for confirmed mid-trend reversal, or you could use a phased buy-in strategy where you buy in $250 per week for the next 20 weeks. Coinbase has some feature to do something like that I think.

This is actually decent advice surprisingly(no offense meant TERA, some of your post's seem somewhat bearish imho). Cost averaging over several weeks during this down turn will limit your overall liability. I would recommend this only if you plan on holding long term(1+ years). From what I have been able to glean, 3rd and 4th quarter of this year should be exciting(exponential price increase past ATH). As with anything crypto, YMMV. Only invest what you can afford to lose.

Thank you for such a insightful perspective. I am kind of blown away by this but it make's a lot of sense. Looking forward to reading more from you.
4507  Economy / Speculation / Re: What would you do if BTC fell to $100? on: April 30, 2014, 12:13:24 AM
I got into bitcoin when it was under $50. If it fell to $100 I would do what I am doing right now anyway. Buy as much each week as I am comfortable investing long term and hodl.   Grin

No one wants another Josh from BFL.

Ahhh..your burnt fingers are reflective of your attitude. If you dont like and appreciate whats happening here, leave. Pretty simple.

I think I want the price for utc to be 0.003 as well. Please everyone..dont sell for less than that.

Excellent work team! I think this is going to do wonders for utc! Now just get the word out and lets work on securing the network. Once utc is ramped up to a decent hashrate and the pool's are more balanced, we will have a windfall of new people jumping aboard to take advantage of arbitrage.

p.s. The Minecraft thing will be huge.

Cool cool..hope this attracts more hash for utc. I hope the back end is more robust then the front end. It's Plain jane. Tongue  Miners like bells and whistles.
4513  Economy / Speculation / Re: Final Warning for Long-term holders... on: April 22, 2014, 08:49:56 PM
No, sorry. No more inside information for the peasants. If you can't play nice, I can't help you. I'll just let the shit parade hit when it hits and smile when the Gox deal is announced. You truly deserve what you have coming.

RIP BTC price!

Before I stop feeding the troll, I have to ask one more time. What are you so angry about?

Some truly decent individuals have tried to have an actual speculative debate with you and yet...you continue to spew nonsense.

I sense you are bi-polar from your post's. Either resume taking your med's or seek professional help, please.

What does change (in %) on mintpal mean (now is +63.77%)? Is it 24 hour change or what? Since trading is going all the time, what period is taken to note THE change?

Yes.

People don't sell that LOW..
This week block reward from will be from 50 to 15 for 4 years..
THINK Cheesy

Marketing, it's very important. With just a little we see utc finally obtaining the value it needs and deserves.
HODL!

This post in 1,000% correct! I know the guy from CA. and he'd sell his mamma for a buck and he has deep-ass pockets so he can manipulate the living shit out of BTC!! You've been warned, sheep!

Has anyone kept up with the only publicly traded Company in the BTC space, "BTCS?" I talked to the Company's PR guy...who is about to be out of a job. The Company raised 2 million to start off, the stock went to $5.26 and now it's at $0.15. Penny stock nightmare and a little more bad press for BTC.

So it was not enough to post you own illiterate thread. Now your going to spam another thread with your drivel? What really blew my mind was the fact you chose to blame this on your daughter. Did you point this out to your wife? What was their reaction?

The moral breakdown of a society is the first sign of a collapse.
4517  Economy / Speculation / Re: Spring Rally! on: April 15, 2014, 11:17:53 PM
The under 400 buyers will sell soon. So lets see how this goes out.

I think they started already.

Theres 2x more buying ..we will hit 550 by the end of the day

I expect a lot of shorts will close. I think 600ish is a real possibility. I think once that is reached profits will be taken.

The best time to plant a tree is 30 years ago. The second best time is today. -Warren Buffet

The Oracle of Omaha. Beautiful really...I had not heard that particular quote..thank you.

It is definitely not a Buffet quote.

Perhaps just a paraphrase of he's actual quote.  “Someone’s sitting in the shade today because someone planted a tree a long time ago.”

I bet 200$ before the end of the week, who wanna bet ?

I will take that bet.
4520  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 13, 2014, 06:07:24 PM
Does your valuation take into account the fact that Bitcoin mining as we know it will collapse very soon?

From 47 peta to 51.5 peta in less than a week. Yup, looks like a collapse to me.  Shocked I wonder if the network will be 1 exahash before the halving.
