Right or wrong maybe people are realizing they can't trust strangers to deliver millions of dollars.

P.S. I could also offer that, but I'm not sure how this would work (taxes, converting €xxx, xxx to BTC, etc.)

1765  Economy / Services / Re: Would you invest in an illegal business on: September 13, 2012, 08:09:25 AM
illegal != wrong

So yes I could invest in an "illegal" business.

I agree. I wouldn't invest in a hitman business, trafficking, terrorism, money laundering, etc., but I think marijuana should be legal everywhere and I think it's okay to invest in something like that.
The problem about investing in an illegal business is, that the owner won't reveal his/her identity so it might be a scam (but there are probably some people on SR with a lot of ratings,....).
1766  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Matthew Neal Wright: You have been reported to the SEC and Korean authorities. on: September 09, 2012, 07:11:31 PM

People have hedged with Bitcoin Savings and Trust securities along with Matthew's bet.

So being stupid twice calls for being stupid a third time by calling in the State to protect people from themselves?

Congratulations! How many admins do we have on bitcointalk now?
1769  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Storing pictures & video in this forum to show others. on: September 09, 2012, 09:47:01 AM
I dont think thats a good idea because of copyright scumbags.

A pic and video hosting service for btc would be better on another domain.

Exactly. It will also require a lot of storage, if everyone on bitcointalk.org uses it.

1772  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are you a bad person if you choose not to save someone? on: September 02, 2012, 03:41:21 PM
You saved an elderly man? chmod755 isn't going to like that.

I just meant that you should let them die, when they don't want to live anymore.
1773  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are you a bad person if you choose not to save someone? on: September 02, 2012, 10:37:03 AM
It also needs to be put into perspective a bit and the risk has to be worth the rewards.
I am not saying that certain human lives have more value than others, but I would most likely risk far more to save a child or young adult, than I would an elderly person.

Exactly. Many old people don't want to live anymore due to several health issues and loneliness - IMHO saving their lives is not what we're supposed to do (death > painful shitty life).
1774  Other / Meta / Re: Link to my twitter account removed from my sig?? on: September 02, 2012, 09:42:46 AM
Try it again. You need to have a certain # of posts before you can have links. IIRC, it's 10, and you're at 14 now.

Should be good.

Where can I find rules like that? I'm lurking here for a while, but I didn't know about that^^
1775  Other / Meta / Re: Link to my twitter account removed from my sig?? on: September 02, 2012, 08:20:23 AM
Any explanation why the link to my twitter account was removed from my siganture?

That's interesting. Twitter should be fine in a signature (e.g. sgornick links to his Twitter account). Did you post content, which is spam, illegal, not safe for work or something like that?

P.S.: Found this post in the timeline of  my twitter bot lol.

1777  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: anyone been paid by cointube.tv yet on: September 01, 2012, 10:43:09 AM
I wonder how does it work, do you have to watch the whole video? Do you have to click like/comment? Anyone has tried it?

I think you have to watch the whole video or at least more than 20 seconds. You don't have to click/like/comment on it, but I'm pretty sure, that you have to switch the channel. Based on the service cointube.tv is using you need to watch at least 20 seconds, but I'm not sure how cointube.tv implemented the payment.
