GLBSE 2.0 is beta testing and he claims he'll remove all the scam/questionable/dead assets when they move to the new site
I really hope they're going to verify ownership of websites (like "upload xiwgfzrg8fetur835.txt to your domain and put your jshrcg895589fnh8 in it"), e-mail addresses and maybe even the physical address.

I have been selling off the GLBSE assets held by the fund, but it appears many of the buy offers were not real, and I was only able to recover a small amount for the assets held. Many of the GLBSE assets turned out to be scams.
This sucks, I think GLBSE should only add verified businesses with real names, addresses, phone numbers, etc. but errr....you knew that there's no verification on new assets so why didn't YOU check, if they are legit?

AFAIK, this subforum was created to do keep other subforums free from alt currency clutter.
So if it gets closed, it's assumed that the clutter would just go elsewhere.
sadly, this If there's no subforum for this and there are some people with moderation rights, you can simply ban them for a few days for being off-topic. Permanently if this person continues to post something like that.

Other / Meta / Should the "Alternate cryptocurrencies" subforum be closed?
|
on: January 11, 2012, 05:10:26 PM
|
Hi,
I'd like to ask the community, if this subforum should be closed, because I think that the discussions in this subforum are getting worse every day and it would be better for a new cryptocurrency to start somewhere else, since we didn't see any reasonable innovations in here. Also: I think a lot of us are NOT happy about the current situation on bitcointalk.org and this "coin war", because both Bitcoin users and users of alternative blockchains could do something useful instead of posting hateful comments.
Time to vote: 7 days.
P.S.: I hope the admins of bitcointalk.org close it, if the majority of us votes "Yes" .

Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: So Bitcoin Leaders what is your position on the ongoing Altcoinocide?

That is just about what I thought anyways but had to ask to see whether they actually stand for what they say they believe in, and in your opinion anyways I was spot on in my assessment of them. Their lack of action shows they are more than happy to have luke do their dirty work for them.
Who is more than happy to have luke doing dirty work? Gavin? I think he doesn't really care about the Coiledcoin blockchain, it might even concern him a bit, because deepbit owns a big amount of hashing speed on Bitcoin - and even if deepbit is 100% honest - someone might hack 'em and then .... it's gone! btw.: Most altcoins failed without luke, because everyone tried to get in asap and sold 'em off for BTC when it became profitable. If you think that CoiledCoin will really take off: Create a new CoiledCoin blockchain and make sure, that nobody takes it over. I'm not defending Lukes 51% attack and I'd suggest that he and other people - which are not interested in "brand new & improved blockchains" - just ignore them.

yes so far around 5000 shares sold, even if he released the other 5000 shares , there are shares already being sold at cheaper price.
@OgyNasty
it would be nice if you release all shares, and whoever wants to buy let them buy.
Nope. If he decides to release the shares, the value and dividends of our current shares are permanently down. I don't want 50% of my dividends Unless you mean: release them to buy more hardware!

General question @ OgNasty: do you keep 5000 shares back for additional hardware? It looks like the dividend was 0.0008 BTC per share and the total number of shares is 10000 → so that'd be 8 BTC to pay for 10000 shares or 4 BTC for 5000 shares.
