1141  Local / Projektentwicklung / Re: Ist eine "stabile" Krypto-Währung möglich? on: April 26, 2015, 01:20:09 PM

1142  Economy / Speculation / Re: Shorts on Bitfinex at a all time high! on: April 26, 2015, 12:41:23 PM
I'm not using Bitfinex myself but just looked at their charts. Can you go short on LTCBTC or LTCUSD or both?
1143  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Paypal chargeback, for the third time on: April 25, 2015, 03:50:08 PM
Yes, Normally just confirmation (sending from) of my registered e-mail address with PP is enough.

But you're only dealing with small amounts, right?
1144  Economy / Auctions / Re: Reverse Auction for FullMember (buy account) on: April 25, 2015, 03:22:56 PM
Based on other account sales I guess the best you will get for 0.08 BTC is a Jr. Member  (Sr. Member if you're lucky)
1145  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What If Online Dating Sites Start To Use Bitcoin on: April 25, 2015, 03:14:00 PM
Wait what? OKCupid and Badoo are already accepting Bitcoin  (I think it's only available in a few countries on Badoo) .
1146  Economy / Speculation / Re: You are not a real Bitcoiner if you don't buy now. Shame on you! on: April 25, 2015, 03:02:27 PM
I can't buy right now. You need money to buy it, something not everyone has.

Get money or ask someone to issue money for you if you have friends in a central bank.
1147  Economy / Goods / Re: What do you think buying Rolex by Bitcoin on: April 25, 2015, 07:01:57 AM
On quick observation, I'd think the price difference was due to the ring of diamonds.  Depends on how much bling you're looking for!   Grin

Ah yep, that could be the reason. I just compared the model number (18238 vs. 18038)
1148  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can I trust BTC exchanges? on: April 25, 2015, 06:40:08 AM
Keeping your funds on well-known Bitcoin services with known owners should work.

Xapo and Coinbase do have a Vault option and they are insured like banks.
1149  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How would you introduce Bitcoin to your friends and family? on: April 25, 2015, 05:33:57 AM
I told my family about Bitcoin a long time ago, but I'm not putting any pressure on them. I'm keeping them updated on Bitcoin events and what I'm doing with it tho.

I'm not giving away coins for free, because they are valuable to me and I think they'd just have no idea what to do with them.

I once ordered pizza with Bitcoin when I visited my brother  - especially his girlfriend was very impressed.

Awesome. I will visit them when I'm in Vienna again (probably in May)

I didn't expect that. It's essentially government-funded Bitcoin use:

1151  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Hillary Clinton Trustworthy? on: April 25, 2015, 04:28:12 AM
There's no chance that another liberal would be the coast-is-clear candidate for bitcoin or liberty like Rand already is.

There's always a small chance.

Rand's bitcoin stance hardly has anything to do with his position on Iran and he's only posturing on it (Iran) to meet certain criteria in a GOP primary, since the right media has been droning about on it and thus indoctrinating those on the right form a certain opinion about it going forward.

I didn't say it has anything to do with it, but it's the same guy.
1152  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Hillary Clinton Trustworthy? on: April 25, 2015, 03:50:50 AM
Okay. At any cost? Right now the signing bonus check is about 50 B.

I still believe liberals should get someone, anyone else than hillary...

Not "at any cost" - but if another candidate supports Bitcoin I'd certainly compare their positions (if I was a U.S. citizen)

Edit: Can you provide a link to a reliable source for your claims? That's just a random islamophobia anti-gay fascist website I have never heard of.
1153  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Hillary Clinton Trustworthy? on: April 25, 2015, 02:29:01 AM
Support what you know!  BTC talks for me.

Okay. Now what if other candidates start accepting Bitcoin donations and support it. Will you do more research to determine the best candidate then?

I hope you get a pro-bitcoin candidate, but I also think stable foreign relations with Iran would be good (afair Rand Paul wants trade sanctions on Iran)
1154  Economy / Goods / Re: What do you think buying Rolex by Bitcoin on: April 25, 2015, 01:46:57 AM
I know this is from an angle and all.. But on an authentic Rolex, the date is exactly in the center of the magnified area.

That's just how it looks from an angle - I just compared it to my watch.

By the way: Overstock doesn't have the exact same model, but I found a very similar model at a significantly lower price.
1155  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-04-24] Fortune: Think there aren't women in bitcoin? Think again. on: April 25, 2015, 01:08:02 AM
Of course Bitcoin is not very diverse at this point, but it also took several years until women started using computers and the internet (only social networks like FB, Twitter, Tumblr managed to get most women to use the internet every day)

People are excited about new things, but Bitcoin is still too complicated for most people (like old email addresses: customercare@63.239.67.9). We should encourage common standards to make it easier (a single unicode symbol, currency code, etc.)
1156  Economy / Economics / NASDAQ reached a new all-time high this week on: April 25, 2015, 12:40:18 AM
I didn't even realize that the Nasdaq never surpassed the 2000 high until now (I'm only 25 so I didn't really watch international stock markets in 2000).

Quote
The Nasdaq index closed above 5,056 Thursday, a new record which practically speaking means…. well, nothing. But it is a historical marker, since the tech and growth-stock heavy index marked its last record of 5,048 in March 2000, just before the Internet bubble burst.

I guess it's time for a new rally with COIN (hopefully ready when the BitLicense is finalized) and some Nasdaq companies (MSFT, EXPE, OSTK, ...) accepting Bitcoin.

Fred Wilson: Oppressive bitcoin regulation could make Silicon Valley the 'next Wall Street'

http://www.bizjournals.com/newyork/news/2015/04/24/fred-wilson-silicon-valley-next-wall-street.html

My comment: Of course another place will get more Bitcoin business if the BitLicense turns out to be too restrictive and/or difficult to implement, but I hope the outcome will make it possible for most NY businesses and individuals to participate in Bitcoin.
1159  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Neteller and Bitcoin on: April 24, 2015, 07:17:41 PM
I dont see why any neteller user cant use any funds that have came from bitcoin after using the p2p transfer system.  Neteller has a ton of verification to go through in order to be a usable payment platform last time i checked.

I really hope they will allow it again - I'm using them just for the card (it's quite cheap compared to other options) - I'm not into gambling and stopped trading forex.
1160  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Neteller and Bitcoin on: April 24, 2015, 06:48:24 PM
Somebody knows the answer for that question?

I can't tell you, but I hope that it works. We can try it out right now if you want.

I don't think their system marks these funds as unusable for card transactions after they are leaving your account.
