Hello, I've done business with this person and he was overdue once, but after sending him an email: Hi I will be repaying today. Once again very sorry about the wait. Can you sign an address to send to for me He sent me his drivers license and passport before I started doing business with him and your information appears to be correct (except passport data is not published here). Did you try contacting him via email?

I saw this in another thread, and think that its a great idea.
Hello, only do this, if you are willing to donate a reasonable amount of BTC (let's say 0.5) - otherwise they'll probably be annoyed and might stop.

Bitcoin is over.
I've been saying for months
I was right. You were wrong. Now suffer.
Hello Nagle, I just made a transaction and it perfectly works. You are wrong. I'm not suffering. Goodbye.

I can't even imagine what WWIII would look like, but I wouldn't be concerned about EMP bombs as there are already ways to strongly reduce the impact of EMP. No internet, No phone, No BITCOIN It seems everyone wants to have more and we don't even realize how much we have right now (especially if you live in the so called 'first world'). Maybe at some point a war is needed to open our eyes.

Economy / Economics / Re: Is regulations good for bitcoin?

Regulation kills everything non-regulated so no
What do you mean by that? As long as you are transferring Bitcoin inside the Bitcoin network, you can trade whatever you want right now. Of course when dealing with government-issued money, your government probably wants to regulate it - but it's limited to currency trading and regulations that already existed.

Did this happen to anyone who got paid from Google Ireland or is this a US-only thing? Never had any problems with Adsense so far. @OP: How many adsense accounts do you have? FYI you are only allowed one so if you have more than one it is sufficient grounds for suspending all your accounts. Of course there could be other reasons? @OP Did you ask Google why your account has been suspended?

parity with 14 000 pizzas I actually voted for this. The parity in terms of other currencies or assets only means something as long as you can buy a product like a pizza with a certain amount of it.

Economy / Economics / Re: Where does the price come from when communication is shut down?
|
on: May 24, 2013, 08:41:20 AM

I came here to say something, but it has been said already. fair is what a good or service will sell for.
I will sell you a widget for 1 BTC. You either think that is a good deal or you don't. It really is that simple. If the last known exchange rate is 5 minutes old and is ~$150 and you think $150 is a good price for a widget you might buy. If the last known exchange rate is 37 days old and is $200 and you think $200 combined with the currency risk is too high then you might not. If enough people don't buy I will have to lower my price. Maybe you buy at 0.75 BTC.
Now without reliable quotes there will be less liquidity and less liquidity means more "friction". Less deals get done, deals are smaller, higher currency risk, etc. Commerce can still happen.
The problem is fiat-connection. There isn't much to do untill you can acctually use BTC locally for whole economy. You would just need to consider what the amount of BTC cost to mine or trade for you and then what the service you get is worth for you. Fair price is the price both parties agree on.

Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is greater than its dollar value

on: May 05, 2013, 06:27:51 PM

Bitcoin's dollar value may go to 1000$ or 1$ but its real value to humanity is infinite!
What you're saying is very similar to the intrinsic value argument of some gold owners. Of course it's useful to us, but that doesn't mean that it's useful to "humanity".

These are good, but I'm hoping for things a bit more localized. Software type services can be bought and sold online.
Great idea, but.... ......there are only a few cities in the US on this list so far ......site blacklisted at ws.surbl.org (sa-blacklist web sites). << open smtp server maybe?

Some of you may have noticed my websites gone down and I got an email from the CEO of my webhost letting people know what's going on, mtgox was down for a bit yesterday I noticed and I was wondering if any other Bitcoin services and websites were under attack? It seems like someone really has it in for anyone to do with Bitcoin but I wanted to find out for sure if anyone was experiencing the same sort of thing, it at least explains a lot of the technical issues I've been having . I've noticed some unusual things. I think this should be discussed here: http://bitcoinpolice.org/

Economy / Economics / Re: Gold is worse than fiat
|
on: April 25, 2013, 04:56:46 PM

Well you will need to first buy the gold at a loss. You will probably have to drive to pick it up and you need to test it a bit to insure its good. For this amount you will have to go to maybe two different guys found online to pick it up at least. I think its safe to say buying and selling the gold will cost you at least 3% each time in transportation, offer-research, time used, risk of fraud and so on.
Yes, there are fees involved when you're buying gold and the gold fixing makes it seem unfair nowadays, but you're not describing problems related to the monetary use of gold here. What you're describing is a problem about how governments restrict other types of money: In most countries you have to pay employees in fiat money... (only a few companies are paying in Bitcoin or partly in Bitcoin so far)

Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Working Bitcoin Advertising Network?

CoinURL (coinurl.com): works / always pays / shows ads as expected - unlike OF or most other advertising networks you can use the funds you generated directly for your own campaigns Anonymous Ads (a-ads.com): also works - no signup required
OF: it takes a while for them to verify your website, could be better
