When there are not enough people spending BTC the exchange rate goes down.

1443  Economy / Economics / Re: Invest in Bitcoin, Gold or Silver? on: October 16, 2013, 12:37:45 PM
Any thoughts, thank you?

I'd suggest buying some more Bitcoins and using them to acquire gold and silver for BTC. This way you're empowering the Bitcoin economy and diversifying at the same time.
1444  Other / Politics & Society / Re: How do you Bitcoin people like North Korea? on: October 15, 2013, 05:05:19 AM
North Korea has been voted the most popular country in the world.

So please tell me, how do you Bitcoin people like North Korea?

Sincerely,
Supreme Leader of Democratic People's Republic of Korea
Kim Jong Un

It's known as the Democratic People's Republic of Korea or simply Korea - nobody in this country refers to it as 'North Korea'. You're not the real Kim Jong Un.

1448  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Foundation Board Election Details Announced on: September 18, 2013, 06:18:44 PM
This is an incredibly offensive question to ask someone. I immediately and completely distrust anyone who asks it.

It was meant to be a rhetorical question (talking about 'extremist ideology')-- I publicly said that I voted for Joerg and I trust him to act responsibly. I'm sorry if you were offended...
1449  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Foundation Board Election Details Announced on: September 14, 2013, 05:27:19 PM
He is not for profit but more for extremist ideology. His stance to avoid working with governments and instead fight against them (see his quote in bold above). His position might work in Germany but will have a difficult time working in the US.

I couldn't find him mentioning that he's planning to fight governments.

Joerg? Do you pay taxes?
1450  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Foundation Board Election Details Announced on: September 14, 2013, 04:04:30 PM
Pissing contest aside, do you actually expect the Platnum and Silver members (business members) to vote for you with that platform?

IIRC business members are voting on the industry seat.

You're not exactly pro business.

What do you mean by that? From what I heard he's doing business on his own and got several others to accept Bitcoin.
1451  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: For bitcoin to stabilize and be accepted, anominity needs to die on: September 07, 2013, 12:46:25 PM
There will always be ways to make it easier or more difficult to identify the purpose and the parties involved in a transaction no matter what the currency is or what tools are being used.

1455  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin Foundation Board Election Details Announced on: September 06, 2013, 03:57:53 PM
I voted for Joerg Platzer
1456  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Plausibility of Syria strike ? on: September 01, 2013, 03:07:01 PM
With just a few battleships and people inside U.S. intelligence leaking their positions it might not be wise to strike.

The question is: Can America afford attacking Syria with more than that?

Oh it's just a story, but still nice.
1458  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin to $1000? on: August 30, 2013, 04:15:37 PM
Already??? Really?
1459  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: [PHP] VirWox BTC/USD Exchange Rate on: August 29, 2013, 06:56:39 PM
There are discounts on the trading fees for limit orders based on your trading activity during the last 30 days - so your results might be different from the chart if you're using limit orders instead of market orders.
1460  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banned By UK Daily For Mentioning Bitcoin on: August 28, 2013, 08:20:42 PM
If your post was only one line and you didn't point out how it's relevant to the article maybe it has been classified as spam (reported by others, by moderators, automated systems, etc).

I don't think they banned you for mentioning Bitcoin, but for writing a comment most people wouldn't understand and/or classify as spam.
