101  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: my wallet got cleaned out and questions on: May 05, 2016, 04:02:38 AM
The private key which you said you generated online couldn't have compromised the whole wallet no matter if you imported or swept it, but since it was generated online, the funds stored in its address were already vulnerable. Most likely someone was able to find out your handle and the password of your blockchain.info wallet and like you mentioned you didn't had any second security enabled, who ever got in, wiped it clean.

Advice, do a clean sweep of your hard-disk partition and re-install the OS, install virus/malware scanners and update them, run a scan, if everything seems okay, install SPV based desktop clients such as Electrum, use a password to encrypt the wallet and add 2fa for greater security. Also, make note of your seed somewhere safe.
102  Economy / Digital goods / Re: How can I get legit Amazon gift cards? on: May 05, 2016, 03:31:15 AM
What do you mean by this?

From their site they offer a guarantee which covers costs of up to $10,000, by that I would say if a stolen credit card was used you would be covered for up to a $10,000 purchase.

https://support.purse.io/general-questions/guarantee/
Purse Guarantee: Customers are covered for any damages or costs resulting from their transaction of up to $10,000.
They are only providing guarantee to buyer/seller that the trade will be completed successfully, the buyer's funds are held in an escrow and are only released when they confirm that they have received the product in good condition. But if it is found later that the product was bought using stolen credit cards than amazon would contact the buyer and ask them to return the product. That won't be covered by any guarantees and good luck explaining to amazon that you paid using bitcoin to a third party site and someone else ordered the goods with stolen cards, not you.
There is a law in the US that protects customers from mistakes of merchants (online / mail order mostly), TLDR that if a merchant mistakenly ships a product for whatever reason the person that receives it can keep it as if it was a gift, that's usually the reason why when you mistakenly receive an item from Amazon and contact their staff they tell you to keep it, while you may send it back you are not obligated to.

The same goes if they fail to do the proper checks on credit card sales, it was thier fault for not confirming the details, the customers case is to blame purse.io in which their guarantee would kick in. The reason the purse guarantee was put in place was when a customer placed an order and police showed up to the customers house due to credit card fraud, purse then created the guarantee to cover legal expenses that could come up due to using their service.
AFAIK, the guarantee program is only available if you buy with a discount of 10% or less, then you're matched with their VIP sellers, otherwise you don't come under the guarantee. And if you buy with a discount more than that and something happens then, you might be asked to return the product(s) since as far as amazon is concerned someone else purchased them off your wish list and you didn't paid for them directly. Anyways, to each his own, I consider it still a bit risky, others might not, its perfectly fine.

104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How Bitcoin is Spreading to Online Casinos on: May 04, 2016, 03:42:19 AM
The key though is if such casinos offer both bitcoin deposits AND bitcoin withdrawals, as well as no ID/address verification.
^This. I am seeing a lot of threads lately where users are crying because they couldn't withdraw their winnings because either they didn't fill up their KYC forms and/or didn't read the T&Cs in detail and end up losing it all. Anytime you play at any casino, make sure you know the terms clearly beforehand. Also, provably fair should be a must.
105  Economy / Digital goods / Re: How can I get legit Amazon gift cards? on: May 04, 2016, 03:30:16 AM
Why not to purchase them via purse,io you can purchase anything on amazon and get discount,
it's eassy to buy amazon product via bitcoin
Just suggest
As convenient that may sound, purse.io won't cover you if the product is bought using stolen credit cards, in which case you'd be required to return the item back to amazon or face legal charges and you lose the Bitcoins with which you paid for it. Hence, it is not recommended.
106  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Lost Electrum Wallet Password and Recovery Seed on: May 03, 2016, 03:25:40 AM
I for one don't think there is a way to find a password with brute-force, though there are service which seem to offer the same but they require part of the password to try and find the rest of it and it would require you to trust them that after successfully breaking in your wallet they wouldn't just steal the funds themselves and for that reason, it is not recommended.
107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoins have not reach my wallet on: May 03, 2016, 03:14:04 AM
They're already in your wallet, apply the steps mentioned above and once the wallet is synced, you'll see them in your wallet. Another solution is exporting your key out of the Core and sweep the funds into SPV based client such as Electrum, which wouldn't require you to download huge blockchain file.

Tutorials to help your achieve that:

http://docs.electrum.org/en/latest/faq.html#can-i-sweep-private-keys-from-other-bitcoin-clients
*Make sure to take back up of your seed before doing above steps.
108  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Wright IS ACTUALLY Satoshi Nakamoto. It's REAL. on: May 03, 2016, 03:03:11 AM
Still waiting for signed proof....  Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

^This. Everything else is just speculation. It is very easy to make empty claims but the truth of the matter is for someone as genius as Satoshi is, he wouldn't need proof from a third party to confirm that he is who he say he is. I have much belief CW is just an impersonator.
109  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitstarz Removes 3.45 Btc Balance According to Breaking Bonus Terms on: May 03, 2016, 02:47:40 AM
Based on the terms about the bonus, yes you broke the rules. Once you broke the rules means you did not deserve to win anything IMHO.
And if you said that they just need to removed your winning and lossing from the over 0.025 bets, it is not fair for them because rules is still rules. If they removed your all your bets above 0.025 means that you did not meet the wagering requirement yet, it will be a double work for the admin because they need to re calculate your wagering.
Be careful next time and read all terms before doing something on any casinos.

Just my opinion.
Where is this rule stated, that the max bet for bonus is 25 mBTC? I can't seem to find it here: https://web.archive.org/web/20160502231900/https://www.bitstarz.com/terms
If it is stated anywhere then they're not completely at fault, because according to them:
It was not a case of a one time over the limit thing, I unfortunately counted over 50 bets which were over the limit.
Which would mean that OP after hitting big on one bet, made 50 bets which were over the limit to complete their wagering requirement quickly.

A solution would be to remove all those bets which were over the limit and let the OP complete the wagering requirement again and let them withdraw the bonus which is then remaining in the account. Don't think Bitstarz should have any problems with that.

PS: My advice to Bitstars is, either don't give away such big bonuses as free bets with so many T&Cs which are hard to follow for anyone, make sure that the user reads the terms before playing with bonus(es) by having them confirm that they understood the rules ([✓]I confirm that I have read and understand the rules) or make sure that these rules are applied technologically on the site which would restrict them from going overboard. OR just give free bonuses like Primedice does, which are without any rules, either play or withdraw is up-to player's discretion.
110  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BREAKING NEWS: SATOSHI FINALLY REVEALED! on: May 03, 2016, 01:54:21 AM
See how Andreas M. Antonopoulos got contacted ( https://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/4hj1xu/why_i_declined_to_verify_sns_identity_two_weeks/ ) :

Quote
If SN wants to "prove" their identity, they don't need an "authority" to do so. They can do it in a public, open manner.
^This. We don't need anybody to tell us that someone is Satoshi, the real Satoshi himself wouldn't need to get verified by a person or an authority, he can sign a message from PGP key/Bitcoin address and/or move some funds and that will be the ultimate proof. This looks to me like a government plot and members who are vouching for this have been bought, which is shameful.
111  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Wallet Vulnerability on: May 03, 2016, 01:45:09 AM
As long as the machine which has the private key(s) to your address(es) is secured then no, there is no way for anyone to steal your coins from your wallet, the safest key is which has never been online(cold storage).

Although, some people prefer only using an address only once and the reasons for that are listed here: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Address_reuse , read the part with "#Known_attacks", though I am sure this vulnerability was addressed in all modern wallet clients.
112  Other / Archival / Re: Giving away .1 BTC. Seriously, no strings attached on: May 03, 2016, 01:30:32 AM
Instead of giving away to ONLY people who happen to catch this thread and reply with their address, why not go around the forum, find the people who help others and tip them, if you say you have been lurking here, you probably would have known and seen a few members who do this, so it wouldn't be that difficult to find and then simply list them here with the reason you decided to tip them.
113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: question on bitcoins on: May 02, 2016, 02:41:15 AM
thank you everyone for the wonderful information! im sorry i have so many question but thank you all of answering these newbie questions that im sure are asked pretty much everyday.
Yes they're asked all the time, even though they're answered already, a useful feature of the forum is the "search" option, you can search for anything and you'll see that your question has already been covered. If it is not then don't be afraid to ask in proper section, like this one belongs to the "Beginners and help" section, you can scroll down to the bottom and move it there.
114  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it possible? on: May 02, 2016, 02:37:15 AM
Its hard I can tell you that much but if your persistent and spread your links around by posting useful topics in forums and have your link in your signature, social media sites and buy some ads with your referral link then it can work. With gambling sites all it takes sometimes is just 1 referral because your income there depends on how much your referred wagered and if you by chance happen to refer a whale then you can make a lot of money.
115  Economy / Gambling / Re: Bitcoin Sports Betting available on: May 02, 2016, 02:25:50 AM
Are you the owner/admin of the site or just sharing something (for referrals) you found? It usually works well when announcing a new site to provide the link to it.

I do not believe number (4) Minimum deposit of 1 btc. iam shock  Shocked Shocked
Most definitely a typo, must be 1mBTC and OP mistyped but if this is right then no one will deposit 1 BTC to a new site.
116  Economy / Gambling / Re: best gambling sites to invest in bankroll? on: May 02, 2016, 02:14:42 AM
so what you guys think are the best safest sites?
ones with most wagered,
ones with a decent % profit thats been steady for months or more?
just curious what others think, and what works for you

I think it's safe or not of course almost all gambling sites are safe and never went scam. the only risk is if you lose the game.
gambling sites is always a profit so all sites safe. you just need to find gambling sites that have lower edge of the hosue. maybe you could get a chance to win higher. good luck
Both of the bold statements above are not completely true, there were gambling sites that ended up scamming and running away with investor's funds, some of them were: Dice.Ninja, Dicebitco.in, IceDice, Win88, CoinWin, which is why it is very important to make sure that the company you're investing in is reliable.

Another list: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1441894.msg14589090#msg14589090

And though the gambling sites do stay in profit most of the time, they can incur losses as well.
117  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Can't get into Yobit account, HELP on: May 02, 2016, 02:00:44 AM
When you enable 2fa to any site, you're presented with a key which when entered into an Authenticator app generates 2fa code every 5-10 seconds, did you save that key anywhere?? If you did then you need to re-enter that into your new phone's authenticator app and it will start generating the code. If not, then only Yobit support can help you remove 2fa from your account and they will do it after making sure that you're the original owner of the account.
118  Economy / Gambling / Re: Satoshimines is a best game? on: May 01, 2016, 04:02:04 AM
It's a good game for when you're bored with dice or other casino games, I played it long back and there was a site which had a similar game and it was fun too but don't see how one will have a higher chance of winning, for all you know the first tile you click on may have a bomb.

Edit: the other site I mentioned was coin-sweeper.com, closed down a long time back probably because it wasn't profitable.
119  Economy / Gambling / Re: Free Sports Betting Tips Website on: May 01, 2016, 03:32:35 AM
Free tips from semi-professional tipsters are always welcome here  Wink

I will have to check out your site as the reddit thing is not for me.  Cheesy
I see a lot of tipsters on the forum lately and I wonder why everyone's so keen on becoming a tipster and providing free tips and I came to the conclusion that this is done with the plan that if the free tips work even slightly for some godly reason then they'll be able to sell the premium tips later. But since it all depends on the performance of their free tips, most don't make it to that stage.
120  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Transaction rejected by node on: May 01, 2016, 03:11:19 AM
Try changing servers and restarting the electrum, that should fix the problem in most cases since the transaction was never broadcasted and the coins are still in your wallet.

If that doesn't work, then, close the electrum, rename the wallet file and take back up of it just in case and restore the wallet from the seed and that should show the coins back in your wallet.
