Keep talking to support and if you don't get a solution, post here with more proofs so other users can be warned of their activities. For whatever reason they closed your account, they should at-least respond explaining why they did it. Keep us posted.
803  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: bitcoin by sms ? on: November 14, 2015, 04:59:30 AM
How exactly does one buy Bitcoins by SMS?? Or does OP means something else because up until now I was under the impression to buy/sell bitcoins you either go to an exchange or find a trader elsewhere. How do you exactly pay for Bitcoins with sms?
804  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BitcoinChain.com transition to enterprise | Block Explorer, Markets, Pools… on: November 14, 2015, 04:46:04 AM
I just checked out the block-explorer and it looks nice with the dark and bright theme, although I think the color of incoming and outgoing transactions should be different, so they can be easily differentiated and the font could be a little better imho.

Thank you for your feedback. We have differentiated incoming and outgoing transactions by the color.
You can check how it looks like in both Light and Dark Theme on the pictures that are linked below:

Light Theme:

Dark Theme:

Looks great now, especially on lighter theme and with -/+ sign it is easily readable on dark theme as well. Shared your link on my twitter, more people should know about this great service.
805  Economy / Gambling / Re: Everybody Needs to Blink... Blink For Bitcoins! - powered by BitBingo Casino on: November 13, 2015, 06:47:23 AM

How about if you give some free credit to try on yours site and give honest review here?? I asking this just because yours site minimal deposit too high risk for new site...

You can actually deposit even 1 mBTC, but the 1st deposit bonus is only activated on deposits of minimum 10 mBTC.
I personally hardly find a $3 deposit as "high risk", not to mention we're not exactly a "new site". The game is new on our platform, indeed!

How much is the first deposit bonus and what's the conditions/wagering requirement on it?

Also, is there a way to check/verify how the random number is chosen? I think for people to enter the lottery freely they would need to know this.

To be honest with you many people here are just leecher so they find it hardly even risking 10 mbtc is alot for them. The number of actual gambler here is just so little if you compare it with the ratio of the gambling site

There are tickets on the site which are for 1 mBTC the 10 mBTC deposit is only required if you want the first deposit bonus, anyone is free to deposit anything I think. And I don't think there is any minimum limit to withdrawals, although they're manual.
806  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: you think Trezor is a safe way for bitcoin ! on: November 13, 2015, 06:33:29 AM
For cold storage, a stainless steel wallet is pretty safe.

https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/cryptosteel-the-ultimate-cold-storage-wallet#/

CMIIW but don't you have to manually enter your keys in it and if you mess up you might end up losing a lot of coins, I don't think I can trust myself to manually jot in the keys, I'd rather print them directly and then try to keep the paper wallet safe. Or just use the electrum offline with the mnemonic back up, no need for a fancy, expensive device when you can do it for free.

However i tried to make a transaction between 2 of my accounts, 0.002 and for some reason it has been unconfirmed for some time around 30+ hours, I know people are going to say be patient and wait however i would just like to know the reason behind it, I'm not worried about the 20p worth of bitcoin I'm just curious.
Here is my address of the unconfirmed transaction : 15K4F2EhHCEBQ81jx3W2gQanmoojdDFVGm

See the warning by hovering your mouse over the symbol besides the 'medium priority' on TX, it says that "this transaction has a very small output and is non standard" which means one of the output is below Dust threshold, which currently is 2730 Satoshi cmiiw, it may still get confirmed but it will take a while.

Quote
Also is it correct in saying that when an account has a unconfirmed transaction sent from it, then you can not send or receive any more ? is this why people split up BTC between different accounts ?

You can send and receive coins but if you try to spend an input which is unconfirmed due to whatever reasons, the next transactions will stay unconfirmed until the previous one confirms.

Regarding security and storing BTC for a long time, is my method safe ?

I have printed 10 paper wallets from bitaddress.org and deposited a small amount in each one. I have added the public key of all 10 addresses to my blockchain.info account as (Watch Only) just so i can see the balance of all paper wallets combined, I have then locked up the paper wallets in my safe...... is this a recommended way to store BTC ?

I'm not worried about some security factors such as "someone stealing safe" - "house burning down" - "printer storing print in memory", using my method is it impossible to have my BTC stollen ?

Did you printed them offline? which means downloading the bitaddress source from github, taking it to an offline computer or an air-gapped machine and then printing them offline so no malware and virus can know their private keys. If you printed them online they're still not safe.

Apart from that, if you're not worried about theft or any other unforeseen circumstances then they're safe but make sure that the paper is safe from degradation.

808  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Downsides of Bitcoin? on: November 13, 2015, 05:41:00 AM
The biggest downside for me is it's not as easy to buy/sell bitcoins everywhere, the countries where there are legal exchanges like coinbase, it is much easier to do but where such exchanges are not available, users has to find alternatives such as LBC which is safe enough but there are a lot of scammers there and someone who is just entering the world of BTC may not be familiar with the things to look out for when trading and they become a victim. And that probably ends their Bitcoin journey before it even begins.
809  Economy / Gambling / Re: I just won 13.3 BTC! Life is good on: November 13, 2015, 05:36:49 AM
I think the best proof would be if he does a giveaway? Cheesy

But seriously, congrats if this is true, if not then it's just advertising which is ok since advertising is a legal form of lying and this is an old tactic and not a successful one. I don't remember myself visiting a casino just because someone said they won big.
810  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it a waste of time mentioning Bitcoin to friends and family? on: November 12, 2015, 05:39:33 AM
I have considered telling my family and some of my friends about Bitcoin but whenever I've tried, they fail to understand why it does have value and why it is extremely important specially in the current socioeconomic context.. they don't get it and see it as something really strange. Needless to say I wouldn't tell them to put any money on it. In a way it feels like im keeping something amazing to myself, but at the same time, I don't want to put people into the pressure of holding through rallies long term because most people aren't cut for that.

How to introduce Bitcoin to absolutely clueless people and is there even a point? Should we just let time pass and wait for them to naturally learn about it once it goes more mainstream?

You're so right about this, when you tell your family or friends to buy bitcoins as an investment they look at you like there's something in it for you, which is not the case, so what I do now is try to educate to them what bitcoin is as a currency and how it will change the way we keep/spend the money in future, if they see something in it, they ask me themselves how they can buy it and then I point them into the right direction, if not, then I don't mention it to them ever again. So don't persuade anybody to buy it but do educate anyone you can.
811  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: November 12, 2015, 05:33:27 AM
All matches went as predicted yesterday except the Zim-Ban one, the Zim were in such a good position at one point and it looked as if they will reach the target safely but as always they choke in the end and lost their wickets. In the other Match Pak played beautifully, restricting Eng to only 216 and then reaching the total comfortably without any drama. Next match between them is on 13th and odds for Pak would be really low as would be for Ban.
812  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Friend: I like gold because you can run with your money if you have to on: November 12, 2015, 05:24:09 AM
There is no need to compare a digital currency with a metal, don't know why people are always comparing bitcoins to gold, each have their own advantages and drawbacks and there is no point in arguing which is better. There is another thread on this in Economic section I think and it's an unending debate.
813  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Oops, I hit the wrong button on my phone! on: November 12, 2015, 04:51:16 AM
-snip-

BlockChain, I just started using it and was not use to the UI at all. I'm use to the TAX being deducted automatically from whatever I'm sending. I'm sure there is a way to set it up to do that I just need to figure it out.

I was under the impression that blockchain.info does not let you push transaction with 0/low fees, don't know how you were able to do it. There are ways to re-broadcast the transaction with added fee but it requires a bit of knowledge and a computer and I don't think you'd be able to achieve it.

Earlier the transaction like these would ultimately get confirmed but with recent spam attacks I think the miners have set parameters to avoid low/0 fee transactions.
814  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Has my wallet been hacked ? on: November 12, 2015, 04:33:50 AM
It is obvious that your account have been compromised but since your available balance was 0.166 and 0.17 was transferred, do you have any balance left? or your balance is still there?

There was nothing left my in my account, it was 0.00000000 , i'm even wondeeing how it was possible for whomever transferred it.

My Account balance : 0.16
Bitcoin Sent: 0.17

Where did he/she get the extra 0.01 ? Huh

If you see the transaction you posted above it has inputs from 2 addresses, one of which must be yours and other of the hacker, that is if you're sure that there was only 0.16 in your wallet. Try to search more on the other address, maybe you'll learn a thing or two about who owns it, although it's very unlikely that you'll get something.

Did you had 2fa enabled on your blockchain.info account? And where did you keep you backup if you had any? Try to figure how exactly were you hacked, it might help you avoid that in the future.
815  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Very weird error, appeard every time! on: November 11, 2015, 04:42:44 AM
If you update to the latest Electrum, I think that will solve this issue. I am getting something weird as well, sometimes when I turn on Electrum, my avast shows that there is a problem with the certificate and shows the exclusion warning, I haven't had that before and was just wondering what it is and is it safe to add the exclusion, I'll add a screenshot of it when I see it next time.
816  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anyone booked profit when btc touched $ 400 ? on: November 11, 2015, 04:26:09 AM
I sold when it was around $400+, sold enough to bring back my initial investment in BTC and any that I have left now is all profit, if and when I decide to sell it i.e. but I can continue to hodl it as long as I want because I have nothing to lose in it now. If the price drops to below $250, I'll buy again.
817  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Do not use localbitcoins.com. everything is a scam on: November 11, 2015, 04:21:07 AM
I have traded there for some time now and haven't had any troubles but only ones but it was due to some glitch in their site and it was sorted very soon. OP, can you describe what exactly happened with you, maybe it's not the LBC that scammed you but a trader, there are scammers everywhere and LBC is not an exception, more since the accounts are being sold.
818  Economy / Gambling / Re: DirectBet – LIVE Sportsbook & Racebook. Rated # 1 by Bitcointalk Members ! on: November 11, 2015, 04:11:03 AM
On the ALL-In poker flips...what happens on a push?   Do you get back your entire original bet in the case of a tie?

Yes.

Thanks.   The poker flips are fun, I just wish there was a way to make it quicker...kind of like how bitcoin dice can be done so quickly...

Yeah I've played a ton of them and I just don't anymore because it takes sooooooo long.  If they made it off-chain it would get so much more action (and would save them so much in miner fees).  Hopefully that's the next step they take.

Miner's fee is not that much but if you're worried about it then you can use other altcoins to gamble, such as dogecoin where the miner's fee is only 1 dogecoin and the network is faster compared to bitcoin, so convert them to doge when you want to play and convert them back to bitcoin when you're done gambling for the day.
819  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Stellar on: November 11, 2015, 04:07:24 AM
Where is the said blockchain distribution which was suppose to take place? Are they delaying it because they feel it will decrease the price even further? I also received the stellar network upgrade email but haven't done it yet. I think I might still have an invitation in my account, don't know what to do with it.
820  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: November 11, 2015, 03:56:08 AM
Today we have three matches bet and make some money out of it.

1. 3rd one day match Between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe - it looks a easy guess for every one to make profits. I choose Bangladesh for this match

2. Second T20 match between Sri Lanka and West Indies - this also almost we can tell SL will win this match but slight risky because WI can bounce back at any time

3. 1st one day match between England and Pakistan - This match difficult to predict who will win as of now

I'll go with Zimbabwe in the first one, when it looks easy that is when it gets tricky and SL for the 2nd match is the right choice because WI bowling is not up to the mark as we saw in the last match and in the 3rd one I'd go with Pakistan, to me they seem a good side and they always fight till the end. So those are what I would bet on today.
