921  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling be profitable in long term ? on: September 23, 2015, 02:55:03 AM
Two types of gambling involves some level of skill, one is Poker other is Sports Betting and if you're good at it then they might prove to be profitable in long run. Apart from that I don't think one can make profit by playing Casino games in long term, maybe there are a few lucky ones who are constantly winning but usually you might get lucky once or twice but if you think you can make it a profession and always stay positive then I think that's just hoping for miracles.

I know a few people personally who have played Lotteries and Horse Racing their whole life and they must be good at it because they don't do anything else, so as I said there are exceptions but not everyone can do it.
922  Economy / Gambling / Re: Best place to play poker now ? on: September 22, 2015, 04:02:23 AM
Which site now is the best ?

Good rep Fast withdraw Lots of people ?

Luckyflop has good support, you can talk to the owner in chat or in their thread and I haven't ever seen a withdraw complaint, although it is manual but I think it should be fast enough, you will find lots of people on tournaments but very few on ring games and this is one department where all the BTC Poker sites are currently struggling. Check it out and see if you like it.

Join the free-rolls and if you like playing there then you can deposit and take part in ring games and paid tournaments as well. It's browser based, so you don't need to download anything.
923  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: ELECTRUM WALLET STOLEN 6 BTC on: September 22, 2015, 03:22:24 AM
I logged into tails clicked on electrum icon and nothing came up ,i tried several times also there were no files for electrum either.
I had the seed so i put that into a new electrum wallet and it recovered the wallet only to see 0 balance and no record of my transactions , all gone. Can someone help me?   Angry

Is the wallet synced? Confirm that the light at the bottom right is green, if it is not then click on the red button, UN-tick the Auto-Connect box and choose another Server from the list below and click 'OK'. Wait till it syncs and turns green, you will hopefully see your funds there.

Other thing you can do to make sure that the funds are in your wallet is check your address balance at any block-explorer like Blockchain.info and if it shows the funds then don't worry as it is just a temporary glitch with Electrum or your network and your funds are intact.

927  Economy / Services / Re: Escrow for representative betting on: September 21, 2015, 04:37:32 AM

Any escrow service for "representing client"?
Normal escrow is take and safe keeping fund total from party A and Party B, when the outcome
happen the fund will be disburse either to A or B.

I need escrow for :

I ask "X" to bet for me, so the fund I give to escrow,
If the result is "losing", "X" will received the fund from escrow to cover "X" initial help me to place bet fund.

If the result is "winning" "X" will only sent me the "winning" portion plus escrow will deliver the fund to "x" to cover "X"
initial help me to place bet fund

Of course I will add some more insentive to "X"

Any escrow service can do this?

Thanks

And what happens if after you have won, "X" doesn't sends you the winning? Also, Who covers the escrow fees?

For escrow to work efficiently he needs to make sure that both the parties can not scam each other, in the case you're mentioning, "X" is totally covered but you're only covered partially.

If you lose, "X" gets the bet amount from escrow, which he made for you and if you win, he gets back the bet amount and the winnings from the site he placed the bet at. "Completely Covered"

But if we see this from your perspective, if you lose then there is no issue, but if you win, the escrow sends you the bet money back but what about the winnings? How can escrow ensure that "X" will not just run away with the winnings?? Which is why I say you're only "Partially Covered", you won't lose your bet amount but if you lose the winnings then what's the point of doing this whole thing?

Think it through..
928  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Blackjack Question on: September 21, 2015, 04:23:53 AM
it's not cheating, but casinos do not have to accept your bet if they don't want to, and they won't want to if they know that you can count cards successfully.

You can try online but it just won't work. They reshuffle after every hand so the amount of information you can pick up on one hand is nowhere near enough to impact your decision making on that hand, and it can't impact your bet size because you have to make your bet before you see any cards.

Really? I thought if you just followed the rules, they wouldn't have a reason to kick you.

Also maybe it's not dependent on your bet size. It could just be letting you know when you should hit or stay.

Card counting is usually done in teams and I don't think there is a set rule that prevents it but it is frowned upon by the Floor Casinos and if they found you counting cards then they ban you from playing there forever, this is the official punishment, others unofficial punishments might include other things. It gives players unfair advantage and which is why it is considered cheating and hence Casinos don't allow card counters.

You can give it a shot in online casinos but it won't work, if it did a lot of people would have done it by now and had gotten rich.
929  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin: currency or investment? on: September 20, 2015, 03:44:44 AM
I think for most it's like an investment for now and the simple logic behind it is there aren't many places you can spend it and if you spend it the process of buying for some is a little difficult, so they buy it and hodl it hoping they can sell it when the price is up, like the early adopters did. We need more businesses, at-least online ones at first to start accepting Bitcoin so that more people use it to buy stuff and don't just hodl it for future.

The buying/selling process needs to be simplified but it's difficult since most of the exchanges are demanding KYC forms to be submitted now and people tend to avoid giving personal information to unknown websites.

Make sure to use an ESCROW to avoid getting scammed.
931  Economy / Gambling / Re: If i had enough money i would sue Bitcointalk.org on: September 19, 2015, 04:17:32 AM
So anytime you buy a product which was advertised on TV, NewsPaper, Internet, Other forms of Media and the product was later found to be not the same as it was published or you weren't satisfied with the product, do you think about suing all those Media outlets?

Bitcointalk is a free forum, anyone can and will publish their sites, services on here, if you take a look at Investor-based games, they're all almost scams but they're still allowed, but it's where your common sense comes in, if it looks good to be true, it probably is. And same is with Gambling, it is always risky but just because Bitcointalk.org is providing an outlet for others to advertise here, it doesn't mean they endorse the product. So even if you had the money required to sue, you still wouldn't have able to because they're not doing anything illegal. I think you should contact someone to take help because Gambling is a form of addiction and you're clearly getting affected by it.
932  Economy / Gambling / Re: DontPlayHere Dice site (0.1% house edge) on: September 19, 2015, 04:06:12 AM
I see a lot of moaning and negativity here from a few members but what I find a little funny and bet with myself that, if you had some kind of giveaway where you was giving something for nothing even just a few dollars them same members would not have nothing bad to say about your site. Funny that. Anyway good for partnering with MoneyPot and such a low house edge, I will not play there though Smiley

Or I might just because you told me not too, good luck!

Really? So according to you the sites doing the giveaways don't get any negative remarks? Go to the PrimeDice thread, they host the most biggest giveaways with no conditions what so ever, play or withdraw but they're still target to the most negative remarks and it's the way how you see it, I see that as constructive criticism, if you can't take that then it's better to not publish your site and just keep it to yourself. Or if you're not ready to hear the truth then just make a self moderated thread and then you can silence anyone not admiring your product.

It's a moneypot site, so you need moneypot account to deposit to play. Actually a lot safer than most think if you can trust moneypot.

Yes, but isn't it true that when you transfer the funds from your MoneyPot account to an app, the app has all the control of those funds during the time they stay there??
933  Other / Meta / Re: Database Error on: September 18, 2015, 03:25:23 AM
I had something weird happening just now. I was trying to make a post but it kept showing 502 error at first, I kept retrying and after several attempts, it went through but then I saw a duplicate post appear just after the original post and when I tried deleting the next one it wouldn't delete, I edited the post and then tried deleting it but again it didn't delete.

I tried to  remove original one which was at 2:30, duplicate was at 2.42 but after I tried deleting the original it went down and the 2.42 one came before that. Which is something I haven't ever seen happening before.

After several attempts I was able to remove the duplicate one but something is defo wrong.
934  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Lost my password on my wallet on blockchain.info. on: September 18, 2015, 02:30:57 AM
Are you sure about that they NOT save your password?

I lost my identifier a while ago and email about them how i could find it back they reply was this:

We can try to find back your identifier by your PASSWORD or your email!

Really? That sounds to me like a fishing attempt. Beware of these mails as they may look like they have come from original source but they are not and never give away your wallet password to anyone. They can recover your identifier with your email but you don't need to ask them to recover as the verification mail you receive from them already has the identifier in it.

Afaik they don't store your password and they make that very clear when you sign up, read this if you're not sure.

https://blockchain.info/wallet/security
https://blockchain.info/wallet/technical-faq

The only way to know a forgotten password is with your Mnemonic Phrase which is presented to you when you make the wallet and which is why they ask you to keep it safe.

But all the above being said, online wallets still are not safe and if can they should be avoided, desktop wallets are still more safer than them.

I dont know if iīm to tired or if i cant understand this or if it isnīt working no moore, thank you, will try again tomorrow.....If someone will help i will help you.

Best Regards!

I think the problem might be that when you take a backup of you wallet from blockchain info they encrypt it with the same password (unless you exported it unencrypted) and which is why you're not able to decrypt it. Even if you make a new wallet at blockchain.info it would have to be with the same password or else it won't be imported. And since you used the Dropbox version I am assuming it will be encrypted, sorry but unless you can think of that password, you're not getting your funds.

937  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: epay.info pays on blockchain? on: September 17, 2015, 03:18:19 AM
It just really a small amount of money, so maybe its really not worth the effort. But supposed I do contact Xapo, I should ask them to... reconfirm the transaction? And supposed that i don't contact them, would my tx expired after certain amount of time and the amount are all gone into oblivion or something? Hahahaha

If it is not worth the effort then just wait, either it will get confirmed or network will forget about it in a few days and in which case the funds will be restored back to the original sender's address, that means Xapo will get them back and you can contact them then and tell them to send it again with proper fee this time.
938  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Lost my password on my wallet on blockchain.info. on: September 17, 2015, 02:51:21 AM
I dont really know if the memonic i have is to my old wallet (i think so) but i have my wallet JSOn file on dropbox.
Will that help me? if so, how do i do?

Thank you for your answers!

If you have "wallet.aes.json" then it contains the keys to your wallet addresses. Here's a guide https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=594570.0 on how to decrypt the json file and  once you have the keys you can either import them into Electrum or make a new blockchain wallet and import them there. There's a decryption tool at the last post of that thread.

Hey guys!
I have lost my password and need help to get it back.
Of course i pay you. itīs about 100 euro or maybe moore and you get the half of it.
I remember a big part of the password.

Best Regards!

you can't get back your account if you forget your blockchain password
this is warning from blockchain

Don't Forget Your Password!
WARNING: Forgotten passwords are UNRECOVERABLE and will results in LOSS of ALL of your bitcoins!

This is correct. Blockchain.info does not stores users passwords on their side and which is why they can't recover it, even they can't access the funds and if you can't remember it the funds will stay there forever. Don't tell anyone any part of your password in hope that they will be able to recover it, they won't and even if they do they won't give you anything.

Did you take any backups of your blockchain wallet? If so you can import it's keys to another wallet and get hold of your funds.
940  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: epay.info pays on blockchain? on: September 16, 2015, 04:43:05 AM
Its better you use faucetbox.com which is reliable i am using it. I have also done several withdrawls from them and got it within 24 hour of request. I am also running my faucet using its script.

My withdrawal to Xapo was sent like about two days ago, but it's still marked as unconfirmed transaction until today.. Emm... suggestion?

Can you share the Tx ID? Check it's fee, usually a transaction remains unconfirmed if it is either low priority due to fee or the funds used in that transaction are unconfirmed in previous transactions. With the recent stress test some of the transactions were stuck because they were of low priority and it will take some time but it will eventually go through. It's best if you contact Xapo and tell them to resend it with proper fee.
