421  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin used to do money laundering - will it become a huge problem? on: February 17, 2016, 05:04:46 AM
The problem is mostly the negative publicity associated with it IMO.. It's just an excuse for the media to talk bad about it because they are scared of it..

The people who swallow this "negative publicity" BS are mostly ignorant regular joes who largely hold no value.

Let the media talk, people with large pockets looking for a secure way to hide their wealth might notice and figure out there might be something for them in Bitcoin  Wink

Spot on! This is what i'm hoping for
This is exactly what i have in mind Cheesy

They won't, they wouldn't want to hold their life savings (black or white) with something as volatile as Bitcoin.

Money is a tool.Bitcoin is money. You can use the money to buy poison or nectar. It doesn't makes bitcoin bad if it is put to bad use just like you dont stop using fiat despite a it is also used to buy weapons etc

Sure. Money is a tool. As is an AK47. You can use an AK to dig a nice garden, and I'm sure it's been used as a spade many times. But it's much better suited for killing people. A fluffy pillow is also a tool, which has been used to smother people many times. And yet it lends itself so much better to being a headrest, so it's not tightly regulated.
This is analogous to Bitcoin and fiat: Fiat, while a percentage of it is used to buy shitty oily meth & nugs with comically-oversized magazines, is also used to build hospitals, and roads, and baby formula, and toilet paper. Bitcoin? well, it's used to hold hospital databases for ransom, which would be darn impractical, albeit not altogether impossible, with plain old fiat.

Ransomeware, kidnappings, illegal internet gambling, ponzi schemes, phony investment schemes,  DNMs -- these are Bitcoin's unique use case scenarios. Tell me why you think governments/ordinary people should welcome it.

Ultimately, bitcoin would have to lose its anonymity and become much regulated to be accepted by common people/governments and it has already started, nations will either ban its use/buy/sell and/or make it so one has to declare and provide credentials every-time one buys/sells for that is the part they can control.
422  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: February 16, 2016, 07:31:36 AM
BTW, who do you guys predict to win the ICC World Twenty20 ?

India seems to be on the top of the list currently because of their recent good performance against AUS and SL and because they were the winners last year too iirc.

Neh, AFAIK, SL won the T20 world cup(2014). IND were runner ups(2nd position) -> http://twenty20wiki.com/icc-world-twenty20-winners/

Right, I remember now, SL won it because of their exceptional bowling performance in that match.

I feel this year it will be either NZ or AUS.
423  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FortuneJack Scamming me? on: February 16, 2016, 07:30:13 AM
Someone recently won 84 bitcoins their iirc and they held the withdrawals for a week to do some checks but ultimately they did payed them, so I am sure this will be resolved soon.
424  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hackers demand $3m bitcoin ransom from hospital to unlock vital files on: February 16, 2016, 07:28:25 AM
I think ISIS may be behind this as they warned before that they will do a cyberattack on US.

Also, Doesn't Hospitals have central servers which keeps all the back up of patient data, I think they do and this should be resolved soon, I hope..
425  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Own casino in your country? on: February 15, 2016, 05:35:39 AM
In this internet age is there any reason to worry about your own country's laws? That is unless you plan on opening a physical casino. Go offshore and reap the benefits.

Don't know how much of this is true but Micon did this iirc, moved his online casino from vegas to another country but was still busted, I think a legal advise in this matter should be taken prior to taking any steps to avoid serious consequences.

427  Other / Off-topic / Re: What's your least favorite thing about Bitcoin? on: February 15, 2016, 05:20:53 AM
I am just scared of losing the btcs... If someone hacks my btc... That's the main problem with btc that I have. ..

Dude, it's scientifically not possible to hack a wallet you know? It never happened and will never happen!

True, it is impossible to crack a private key but it is very much possible to hack into a pc that has the private key which contains the BTC, this is why there is a thing called "Cold Storage", keep your funds offline and you don't have to worry about getting your BTC stolen, ever!.

My least favorite thing about BTC currently is that it is still in a grey area, I want it to become legal, which will help adoption and there will be less scams involving, exchanges/services.
428  Economy / Economics / Re: Is it a good long term investment to buy 1 BTC today? on: February 15, 2016, 04:54:46 AM
Nothing is safe but if you're looking to make some profits, I'd say right now is a good time to buy.
today bitcoin increase? you're sure to buy now? or wait for prices to fall back to buying?
I think buying now is not a good choice,
unless the bitcoin prices will continue to rise. i will buy now

That's are only predictions.
Never take statement of one person as signal to invest money!
However, it seems that the price should not fall. It looks like it will be slowly climbing up to $ 500 or even higher.

In my view, it'll dance around $400 for the time being and as it gets close to halving it should go upwards of $600 at-least but those are just my speculations, they may/may-not come true.
429  Economy / Digital goods / Re: I am confused about the selling of torrents? on: February 14, 2016, 10:13:50 AM
Private trackers offer more selection files to download, the speeds you get is better than the public ones and they offer better privacy and they have some regulations such as 1:1 download/seed ratio, so the files remain much more active and leechers get kicked from the community.
430  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: February 14, 2016, 10:02:00 AM

i think WI U19 will lift the cup as they are in a good position.. just play good sensible cricket and win the match

SA vs ENG will start right now. i hope to see a good performance from SA
IND vs SL T20 and i hope india will win this series

IND-U19 played terribly today and right now WI-U19 require only 22 more runs from 27 balls which shouldn't be a problem as they still have 5 wickets in hand.

Eng on the other hand is playing sensibly after losing 3 early wickets and I am sure they're going to put up a good total and it isn't going to be easy for SA to win. Ind shouldn't have any problems defeating SL again.
431  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear? on: February 14, 2016, 09:57:49 AM
For me no because bank still safe than bitcoin because bitcoin has a possible to hack and bitcoin value is not stable so its impossible that the banks will be disappear because of bitcoin... do you think guys if you forgot the password or you accidentally deleted your password in your laptop you can recover your account for me no so banks and atm's is always safe than bitcoin..

People lose more money every year stored in their bank accounts and atms as compared to Bitcoins, the only bitcoins that get stolen are because of either carelessness in handing private keys or investing in scams.
432  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it true? Researchers describes a way of hacking BTC private key on: February 14, 2016, 09:54:07 AM
Cracking brain wallets with weak pass phrases is same as cracking online accounts such as email/social-media/etc, which is why brain wallets are not recommended. Who ever tells you that bitcoin private keys can be cracked, tell them to go ahead and do it, instead of telling you.
433  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Europe wants end to anonymous Bitcoin transactions on: February 13, 2016, 05:16:24 AM
I have said this before, for bitcoin to go mainstream it will have to lose some part if its anonymity, at-least on the buying/selling part, the rest cannot be regulated.
434  Economy / Gambling / Re: Kodes88 prediction on: February 13, 2016, 05:11:35 AM
Just put your address in your signature, no need to paste it with every post, it is considered begging and you might get banned for it.

Why don't you bet with your own tips? then you can make money yourself and wouldn't need to beg for tips.
435  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Bitcoin and how it is in different countires on: February 13, 2016, 04:45:57 AM
Bitcoin banned by gov on that list country but it still many people on that country using bitcoin.
Whatever you do to ban bitcoin, bitcoin never die.

True but if governments declare that using bitcoins is illegal in a nation then it becomes hard for people to accept/spend/trade it easily and thus the adoption will be less in those countries.
436  Other / Archival / Re: Do you think bitcoins will disapear or become unused? on: February 13, 2016, 04:43:43 AM
The bitcoin will get unused in the bitcoin for sure.

Bit it will only happen in about 20 years.

I think that because there will be other digital currency's.

That might happen, with all the legality issues bitcoin seems to be having in different countries we might see a different digital currency or several which are more regulated and centralized but that does not mean bitcoin will cease to exist, it might still keep its place.
437  Other / Off-topic / Re: Why would customers use Bitcoins? on: February 13, 2016, 04:34:30 AM
I came to figure out, why would a consumer/customer use Bitcoins?
You have to pay the 3 cent fee, while you dont have to pay anything when paying with a credit card.

So what is really a benefit for using Bitcoins, customer wise?

Bitcoin has a relatively interesting price history, mostly a steady up-trend beside some big drops. With this up-trend, you can afford to discount a little for bitcoin, and a 3-cent fee is nothing compared to some credit card surcharges nowadays.

That and as soon as you put your credit card info on a website to shop, it becomes vulnerable as the site or hacker can use that info to steal money from you but it is not the same with bitcoin because if you take proper precautions and/or use cold storage, your private key can always stay secure.
438  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Paste4BTC Earn free bitcoins by pasting, pastebin alternative that pays! on: February 13, 2016, 04:16:42 AM
i know it's a 2years old thread... but i want to know if this website paste4btc.com is still paying because i see on payments menu page that the last payments was done last year in spring....

please reply if this is no scam already...

already sent an message on paste4btc FB page...sent an email on paste4btc@gmail.com ...and still no answer

soo...if not a scam already and still paying , please reply!

x

You have answered yourself already, if the last payment as you say was done last year then that means that either no one has reached the payment level after that or the site has stopped paying. And the OP hasn't been online in an year, so its safe to say that the site is not paying anymore.

Try Bitbin.it, not sure about payments but it is more famous of two and you have better chance of making something there.
439  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Android wallet on: February 12, 2016, 03:50:36 AM
You can keep them on different paper wallets and since Mycelium has an import paper wallet function, you can load them up whenever you feel the need to spend them.
440  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for promotion for roulette game site on: February 12, 2016, 03:35:41 AM
How about instead of paying one user, you start a tweet/re-tweet campaign and pay the people like 0.001/tweet/500-1000 followers, this way you can get your site lot of exposure, let me know if you need me to arrange something like on this forum, I can manage it for you.
