821  Economy / Gambling / Re: Betcoin.ag Poker for Linux on: November 07, 2015, 05:09:09 AM
Has someone tried to install their windows client on ubuntu using WINE? I think it might work, I don't have WINE installed right now but I'll see if I set it up and get it working their or OP you can install virtualbox and have windows inside it for windows apps.
822  Economy / Gambling / Re: Can we organize a poker tournament? on: November 07, 2015, 05:04:43 AM
You can try but I don't think it will work, a lot of poker sites have tournaments everyday, paid as well as freerolls but usually people prefer to play the freerolls and no one enters the paid ones. Also, not every one is on same time zone, so not everyone can be available at same time.
823  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Cricket match prediction discussions on: November 07, 2015, 05:04:11 AM
I think India can win this one quite easily, the pitch is only going to get worse as the game progresses and turn like crazy and it will really difficult for the SA to chase a 200+ total, since it is not like they can bat it through because there are 2 more days left after today.
824  Economy / Services / Re: [closed] Looking for a few folks to pre-alpha test. on: November 02, 2015, 06:20:21 AM
To mtnsaa, bitbaby, and ~bitcoin~,

I am sorry I should have specified that your enrollment signature should be done with your Master signing address. By having an address sign a message specifying itself as the master address, we ensure that the user actually controls that address and is not just signing someone else up. Sort of...it's a new process so I apologize for not specifying that exactly in step two above. I'm sending the 0.05 btc to each of you shortly will add 0.01 btc for you to re-sign your message with your master signing address. Without that, nobody should sign your entries as a reviewer.

----

I have signed Knightdk's user record and am sending his 0.05 btc shortly. I would appreciate it if one of you would check my signature and sign it with your delegate address (not knightdk obviously).

Thanks to everyone for your prompt service.

Edit: payment sent! https://blockchain.info/tx/066b3656bd497547cbab8b0f0decfe6d8f0e7d4b3c96bc570272ed0c91b4791e

Re-edited my original post with the Master address signed message in the google doc, also verified your signed message.

Thank you
825  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Ransomware, the best thing that has happened to Bitcoin on: November 02, 2015, 04:33:33 AM
Ransomware will make people passionately hate bitcoin and forever associate it with crime. OP needs to explain themselves.

I guess OP is trolling right?
Because I can not believe he is really serious that ransomware can be anything good for Bitcoin.

He is I assume because ransomware just spreads hate about bitcoin and even though it is not yet stoppable I am sure it'll get picked up by antiviruses soon, the best things users can do is take backups of their important stuff in the computer, so if any such viruses do enter, you'd only need to wipe the OS clean, restore your backup and start again, no need to pay any ransom.

Done.
827  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC reach $350 during november? on: October 31, 2015, 03:02:08 AM
I don't know about what the price will be in November but I know that in time the price will get increased slowly and steadily. The halving is next year and maybe that's a factor too since people are starting to see it's potential and they're starting to buy bitcoins and hold it.
828  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Debate: Do you think criminals do more good than harm to bitcoin? on: October 31, 2015, 02:56:42 AM
I don't think they're doing any good and I also don't think the price rise was because of this. There must have been other factors such as European union accepting BTC as a currency etc. Criminals harm bitcoin's reputation every-time they harass/blackmail/steal from someone. But I hope the only good affect of this is people start to care more about their privacy online, so things like this don't happen in future.
829  Economy / Economics / Re: Rising Numbers on: October 31, 2015, 02:35:32 AM
What does halfing mean?  I have only bought one coin.  I am trying to figure all this out before diving in.

Bitcoin Halving* means the the reward the miners get when the succesfully mine a block gets halved, currently it is 25 bitcoins but after the halving it will become 12.5 bitcoins. People associate this with the price increase because the supply will get reduced by half and if the demand remains the same, the price is bound to go up.

But it is still very far.
830  Economy / Exchanges / Re: So coinbase closed my account for gambling... on: October 30, 2015, 04:32:36 AM
-snip-

Right.

Thing is, they sent me a warning and basically just said don't gamble through Coinbase again. I never once sent bitcoins to or from a gambling site directly with Coinbase again. I went through the MyCelium wallet on my phone every single time.

So the only thing I can think of is the pattern of my activity. Selling X amount of BTC from Coinbase and then immediately transferring that same exact amount of BTC back into Coinbase from a different wallet.

Yeah, however they did but they did tracked it and if you had used some kind of mixing service in between this wouldn't have happened but even then Coinbase is a little anal when it comes to things like these.

You can search for exchanges here: http://howtobuybitcoins.info/#!/USD and see the one that suits your needs, or you can use an e-wallet service for gambling like Neteller, they allow BTC deposits directly and you can cash-out your winnings to your bank account or use their card at any ATMs.

Note: you won't be able to deposit BTC and cashout to your bank or ATM, but you can send it to Neteller merchants and online gambling sites. But there are a lot of traders here and on LBC who will easily buy your BTC for Neteller and you can cashout that to your Bank account or ATM.
831  Economy / Exchanges / Re: So coinbase closed my account for gambling... on: October 30, 2015, 04:16:26 AM
I tried to search if there's any rule about accepting payments from gambling sites, there's none but i'm not sure about their rules before we sign up if there is. I get my payments from Magicaldice through coinbase.

Coinbase does prohibit using their service to send/receive money from gambling sites, it may go unnoticed but when and if they find out they will close your account and this is not the first time it has happened. Here's where they mention these rules:

--Appendix 1: Prohibited Businesses and Prohibited Use

5. Gambling, except where permitted by Coinbase

--You may not use your Coinbase Account to engage in the following categories of activity ("Prohibited Use"). By opening a Coinbase Account, you confirm that you will not use your Account to do any of the following:

3. Partake in any transaction involving online gambling except where permitted by Coinbase;
832  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trade with coins on: October 30, 2015, 04:01:59 AM
With 5 mBTC you can forget about any BTC trade.  Wink You need at least 5 BTC to start to trade in BTC market  Wink

I think that is excessive, I can trade with much fewer money in the regular stock market or CFD's

5 mBTC is about $1.5 give or take, do you really think you will gain anything by trading that much money? You should at-least invest in about 1 BTC so you can actually make something worthwhile otherwise you'll just be wasting a lot of time and effort for nothing.
833  Economy / Economics / Re: If Bitcoin goes up very high should i buy a house? on: October 30, 2015, 03:53:18 AM
I'd say do whatever you have to do to own a house, living on rent/mortgage is just a huge burden and if price becomes higher and you have a chance to sell your holdings in exchange for a self owned home, then I'd say go for it. And the money you save in future from no mortgage/rent on your head you can start to buy it back slowly.
834  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS STILL FAMOUS on: October 30, 2015, 03:49:04 AM
What does it mean by "Still" famous. I don't think Bitcoin ever lost it's status as far as being famous is concerned, the reasons for it's fame might have been different for different periods but as they say any publicity is good publicity and since last weeks it is making headlines for it's sudden price increase which will make it more famous and boost adoption.
835  Other / Off-topic / Re: What do you wish you could buy with btc ? on: October 30, 2015, 03:44:58 AM
I wish I could buy anything with Bitcoin
Can you imagine that guys? Buying anything what you need with just a Bitcoin.

Yeah, that would be great but it's still a bit far from happening. I would just be glad if I could find an online shop which is local and they accept bitcoins so I can order all the stuff I order online through cards with BTC instead. I think for me that would be enough and after that we can hope that local retail stores start to accept BTCitcoin.
836  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for someone to do Uni Assignment on: October 30, 2015, 02:38:40 AM
You can pm me the details and I'll let you know if I can do it or not Smiley

Same. PM me OP.

Edit: Didn't receive any PM, I am going to assume the work is already finished. If you need any work any time OP, just feel free to PM me and I'll see if it is something I can do or not. But I usually come here only once per day, so I might not be able to respond to the PM instantly.
837  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: "Fun game" to earn BTC on: October 29, 2015, 03:29:36 AM
Magic The Gathering, I don't know if a game like that exist with Bitcoin or not but I would love to see one where one can play and reach levels and score and based on that you can earn some bitcoins or trade cards or achievements to do the same. It involves no gambling and I don't think it would get botted.
838  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Guys... I'm having this feeling again on: October 29, 2015, 03:16:23 AM
tl;dr :- Don't keep your hard earned bitcoins in an exchange, no matter how trustworthy it seems, keep them safe in a cold storage where no one else has access to them but you.

I don't own much of them (which I plan to sell them as soon as the price takes off (about $10.000 Tongue). I store them in Blockchain since it has 2FA. I guess it is pretty secure.
I would like that local wallets could have 2FA as well.

No, they're not secure, it's just an illusion of security, you're keeping them in an online wallet which is NOT SAFE, I don't know how many times this needs to be told. With cold storage wallet you wouldn't need 2fa.

840  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: BitcoinChain.com transition to enterprise | Block Explorer, Markets, Pools… on: October 29, 2015, 02:38:11 AM
I just checked out the block-explorer and it looks nice with the dark and bright theme, although I think the color of incoming and outgoing transactions should be different, so they can be easily differentiated and the font could be a little better imho.
