There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, but full nodes are more resource-heavy, and they must do a lengthy initial syncing process. As a result, lightweight clients with somewhat less security are commonly used.

Wow!.. this is epic, massive dump on Byteball lol!.. Sorry to see a promising project like this die off,.. seems Byteball's going the "dead and forgotten" way.. No marketing from the dev team, no visible imprints on presence in the crytoverse,.. the entire project seems lost in oblivion... what's up Byteball?!..   Roll Eyes

Overreacting exemplified! This has been happening every airdrop... And it has picked up always.

You've obviously not been paying attention:
For the next distribution on September 6, we are changing the ratios in favor of Byte holders and slowing down the distribution to have more time to build out the cashback program:

BTC to Bytes: every 160 BTC gives you 1 GB from the distribution (or 0.00625 GB per BTC).
Bytes to Bytes: every 10 GB of existing balance gives you additional 1 GB from the distribution (in other words, +10% to existing balances).

Similar ratios for blackbytes.

The updated rates were also posted in the First Post on the First Page...
What you receive, is proportional to your balances in BTC and Bytes on the Full Moon of September, on September 6, 2017 at 07:02 UTC:
BTC to bytes: 1 BTC of proven balance gives you 6.25 MB (0.00625 GB)
BTC to blackbytes: 1 BTC of proven balance gives you 2.1111 * 6.25 million blackbytes (money supply of blackbytes is 2.1111 times more than that of bytes)
Bytes to bytes: 1 byte on any Byteball address gives you 0.1 new bytes
Bytes to blackbytes: 1 byte on linked Byteball address gives you 0.21111 blackbytes

Putting this another way, to receive 1 GB from the distribution, you need to already hold 160 BTC or 10 GB.  These same holdings also give you 2.1111 GBB (giga-blackbyte).

Received the correct amount of Bytes as per new rules. Do we have to backup the wallet every time after Black byte distribution as its not registered on the DAG and kept locally?

You don't have to backup anything; however, highly suggested you make backups all the time (specifically after any blackbyte send/receive).

No one ever regretted making too many backups.  Most people complain that didn't make a backup when they should have.

I understand black bytes require a new backup after each airdrop to include the new blackbytes received.

Why doesnt Byteball do one of its airdrops on Ethereum holders?  Airdrops are such a great way to build allies.. or maybe people think Byteball is too much of a competitor with its conditional payments and other features (and therefore too many ETH holders would just dump such an airdrop)?

Why doesn't ETH holders dump it and buy Byteball?
Byteball is moving away from dropping based on Coin (bitcoin or altcoin) holdings.  It's moved to benefit people that actually have Byteball.

Distribution of bytes is finished.
Total distributed: 57,444.473272169 GB.  It's about $19m at the current rate.
New available supply: 583,896.4940036 GB.  Coinmarketcap is already updated.

I'll update when blackbytes are distributed, it is going to take about 3 days.
Thanks again Tony for your hard work!

(I now have to use two hands to count my balls.)
Phrases like this always make people frown when I talk about (as they hear it) "bite balls" Cheesy

To all Holders: tell people about Byteball: give them 100,000 bytes and 210000 blackbytes if they install the wallet (make a backup after sending blackbytes), chat with them, and spread the word. Byteball's potential is huge, all it needs now to grow is more users.

Received the correct amount of Bytes as per new rules. Do we have to backup the wallet every time after Black byte distribution as its not registered on the DAG and kept locally?
Yes. Think of Blackbytes as a post-it handed to you by the previous owner. The post-it says: "you are now the new owner". Together with handing you the post-it, the DAG registers that the previous owner is no longer the owner of these Blackbytes. The DAG does not register who received the post-it.
If you lose the post-it, you lose the blackbytes.

Read Byteball: Blackbytes FAQ for more.

And that is really a great step! I am holding Byteball since many months, good that this will be more rewarded than holding another coin.
It would be great if they change the distribution model to benefit the Long-Term Holder, maybe 10% for Coins holding longer than a month, that will decrease the dump every time.

If I am right, the percentage for gbyte holder is 10%. I hold 8 gbyte yesterday and right now I have 0.8 gbyte. Not a big amount but I will still holding. I believe in this cryptocurrency. Hope that after the airdrop, you guys will have more time to develop and the coin will have more space to grow stronger  s

On the contrary. YOu schuldn't hold ByteBall but spend it. It is a currency after all.
So what Tony is doing is just rigth. Give CAshback to people who are using it.
What we really need are much more merchants.

Thanks, I received the full amount now. It seems the first distribution was the part for the linked Bitcoins and the second part - which I received today - are the 10% of my own Byteballs.

I just checked my received amount for the distribution round today and I have gotten only around 5% of the amount which was shown in the chatbot yesterday and today (check twice befor distribution). Is the distribution split to several payments this time?
I sent all the coins to the specific address shown in the chatbot so everything seems to be right. Does anyone else have the problem?

Yes, you need to backup your wallet not because of your Bytes but because of your BlackBytes. If your machine crashes you can recover your Bytes with your seed but your BlackBytes are gone. This was my understanding about how it works.

Received the correct amount of Bytes as per new rules. Do we have to backup the wallet every time after Black byte distribution as its not registered on the DAG and kept locally?

Generally, will the next distribution be the same as this time or are there any changes?

2.5 seconds after the time I think the snapshot may have happened I moved my coins.  Will I still get the handout that I really think I totally deserve for doing nothing?

Why the hell do you guys have to move your coins around so much?  WTF?  You cannot just wait a few hours or even a whole frickin day or two to move your coins?  What on Earth is so damn important that you have to move them as soon as possible?

Completely agree with you.

As for the reason for moving.... Those people waiting on their welfare check (free handout) are moving them to an exchange to dump them so they can afford to pay rent, but not first without complaining about it.

Next?  People will ask simply for cash instead of bytes and demand instant payment.

'Byteball should simply give me my handouts in cash deposited directly to my bank account.'   Right?
