7661  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How long does it take to reach 1 BTC in 2014? on: July 22, 2014, 08:58:17 AM
Well I am kinda new to bitcoin and I have already made over 1 BTC in my first 2 months  Grin

I don't use faucets and I don't mine at all.  Cool

"The sky is the limit!"

What kind of service(s) did you perform to receive that kind of dough?

I just joined Latium (link in my signature) and I got referrals. You earn 5LAT for joining and you earn more LAT from your referrals on 100 levels!

I know it might seem like a ponzi or pyramid scam but its 100% free and LAT is now worth around 20,000 Satoshi per LAT!

You just need to get a as many referrals as you can get and then they will get referrals and your 100 level downline will begin to fill itself and you will earn LAT every day with no work from you (on the other 99 levels)

If you need help just PM me  Wink

After I saw your SIG, I understood. Did you made splash pages for it?
Don't gamble, you will loose your BTC or any other DCs.

7663  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: How safe is an Encrypted Bitcoin core wallet with a strong password? on: July 22, 2014, 02:55:04 AM
Why not install VirtualBox on the Windows PC. Then use a virtualized Ubuntu installation when you need to access your wallet?

Because it gives you complexity not security. If the host system is infected any virtualisation as protection is useless. While you might be able to fool very simple malware that just searches for the wallet.dat with this, it will not help you against a keylogger. If you type in a password in the VM ware it is still piped through the host OS.

As it is said earlier, Brute-force attack will be hard. It isn't highly secure but it is good and try to install original OS and search for a way to detect and remove keyloggers from your computer for the preferred OS.

7665  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Is My Rig good for Mining? on: July 22, 2014, 02:44:42 AM
I have an AMD card, pretty modern but pretty useless nowadays. the mining dream is over  Cry

Unless you have money to invest in mining rigs for example ASICS were the craze. But if you haven't got money to invest then yes the dream is over.

Even if you have the money to invest in ASIC, it is hard to get your investment back, considering the rapid uprising difficulty.

That's true. But, if you have enough money to invest and the knowledge to invest that to make a profit then you it can be done. It's hard because of the ever rising difficulty but still if you can purchase a preowned ASIC for a cheap price then you may be able to breakeven pretty soon and profit before the difficulty goes up.

Mining with ASIC is only good, if you want to make profit. Try to find an ASIC miner which has least price. Smiley

You can reach 1 BTC in some month if you use signature campaigns and do some little work for BTC...

+1.
Also do some trading if you have are good in trading otherwise it may lead to loose in BTC.

7667  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How Do You Buy BTC? on: July 22, 2014, 02:39:48 AM
I do face to face trades, meeting people in real life.

Be careful when you do face to face trades. It is very dangerous. Try to it in most crowded area.

I am thinking of buying BTC in Poloniex for alt coins and BTC-e for LTC. Coinbase is better though.

7670  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: [ANN] Armory Multi-Sig with Simulfunding [BOUNTY 0.03 per bug] on: July 22, 2014, 02:32:33 AM
I watched the video. The whole process looks complicated at the moment to me.

I would expect that if I am in a group of people signing a multisign transaction, that the signature-process is happening in the tool.
At the moment it looks like that I have to send the partly-signed transaction with a file over to the next person via E-mail or another messaging system.
From a technical standpoint I undstand that the transaction needs to be signed by all required parties first, before it can be broadcasted.
On the otherhand would it be very hand if the partly signed transaction would automatically show up on the other person's wallet waiting for approval.

Like: "1 Transaction waiting for approval" type of messaging system.

I think DarkWallet will eventually have a P2P connection between parties to sign. However, many Armory users will have their keys in an offline system anyway, so they need some kind of transfer like that. Remember, Armory is targeted to the highest security aware users.

Would there be a way to actally embed transactions in the Blockchain which are not yet valid as they are only signed by one party? So for three signatures three times the miners fee would have to be payed, but who cares. would be awesome to use the already in place network for this. I guess the answer is no, but maybe someone knows for sure.

DarkWallet has a lot of features but still I don't think it has better security than Armory.

Thanks! It is good! So the miners fee is directly proportional to signatures, right? I think this is best wallet for providing escrow services. Smiley

7671  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Satoshi Client Operation: Overview on: July 22, 2014, 02:23:58 AM
this documentation is so old, it borders on useless.  Some of these files don't exist and many of them have been refactored and/or moved.  Maybe when the dev team actually wants people to be able to help, they will take a moment to point people in the right direction.

See this reply :
Nodes currently only store the historical blockchain for serving out to newly initializing peers and for stats queries in the rpc. Since 0.8 the software is restructured so that it never accesses it otherwise, and the next release will likely include a feature to operate with only about 1GB storage.

I think they are trying to make it simpler.

That would be great and it will solve some problems on syncing Blockchain. Smiley Is there anything new in next update other than this?

7673  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Armory or Electrum? on: July 22, 2014, 02:18:33 AM
Now a days, Armory is better. It provides better security but you will have to download whole blockchain. You can download bootstrap.dat and copy it into wallet directory. Many BTC stealing Malwares and Trojans has came. So it is better to choose more secure wallet than lighter wallet. You can also avoid getting stolen by installing good antivirus and removing non-trusted softwares.

I think you used Latium.cc and maybe invested in some schemes with it. Anyway this is old thread and don't do what he did now as you will not get get good profit, if your electricity cost is more than average, then it is wise for you to stay out! Smiley

7675  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Testnet in a box on: July 22, 2014, 02:05:09 AM
The testnet difficulty has risen again - people use GPUs to speed up their testing and then the network adapts.

To solve this I've put together testnet-in-a-box. It's a zip file you can extract locally, run a couple of commands and you have a difficulty-1, private testnet instance with a few thousand coins for you to spend. You can then use CPU mining to create blocks every 10 minutes as normal or a GPU miner for blocks every few seconds.

Get it here:

  http://sourceforge.net/projects/bitcoin/files/Bitcoin/testnet-in-a-box/

The README file contains instructions on how to use it.

Thanks! Smiley

Does anyone know what 「New Economy Movement」would be if translated into old Latin?

New Economy Movement > The Oeconomia Motus . I know it isn't old Latin but why do you want old Latin?

7680  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Which pool will yield the most bitcoins? on: July 22, 2014, 01:29:04 AM
Ignore andylin, he spammed 15 posts before I assume being banned.

The best pool is the pool that makes you happiest.  If having peace of mind is important then mine on the most stable pools like BTC Guild or Bitminter.  If guaranteed income makes you happy look for a PPS pool if it exists to negate variance.  If you like gambling and the thrill of possibly making double earnings mine on a smaller pool.

If Ghash.io wasn't trying to take over the network they would be an option, but in their current state they need to be avoided at all cost.

IMO P2pool mining is better for him as he has good hash rate. But where did 6TH/s miner came? I couldn't see any on internet which is alrady made but I found one which is under development.

Kindly,
      MZ

Spondoolies Tech SP30 is the only legitimate 6THs miner known to be in the pipeline. All others (you know who!) are scams until proven otherwise.

Thanks for the site and details. It is September batch. The miner looks great and it isn't using much electricity, right? I hope nobody falls into any type of scams. Smiley
