Nice try...
You can buy btc from btc-e.com
they accept USD deposits..

Why you say Nice try...  Huh

Is anyone for you who ask to buy via paypal a scammer ?

No. But it is hard to trust a newbie with PayPal.  Don't be sad, it is usual.
See this quote :
Money sent through PayPal and any other money transfer service that accepts credit cards can be easily reversed by the sender, even after several weeks. Therefore, you should only accept PayPal in trades with people you trust very highly.

This is why newbies are not likely to sell their PayPal USD for bitcoins successfully.

Some other services that are not totally safe:
- Bank transfers (ACH, etc.) except wire transfers
- Most gift cards.
- Moneypak
- AlertPay
- Paysafecards
- Dwolla
- Western Union (they reportedly will sue the recipient to recover money in some cases)

Kindly,

Is OKPay trustable? I am going to do some exchanges with it, so it would be very helpful if you tell me your suggestions.

Everyone has been updated to the official Stakeholders list. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Uh1E5Fnn-NqWR50-DT_LkFKM4S-tzf_6iq5Uk_rI-cc/edit#gid=0

3 Weeks until the last stake can be claimed. So far over 215 people have claimed a SRCC stake.

We are looking for active community leaders to help progress SourceCoin, while we continue to market and promote it behind the scenes and develop features. If you feel you can be a community leader, then you will be greatly awarded. PM ME for more information Smiley

Aren't you updating 'activity' of members? Huh Or is it not updating to know the number of activities they had when members registered?

7564  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Solo vs. Pool on: July 28, 2014, 01:16:42 PM
Yeah! Like everybody said, you should also go for pool. Try using Slush's pool . It would be better, IMO or you can use p2pool mining. For full list of pools, check here and you can check p2pool nodes here ( BT Thread )

7565  Other / Meta / Re: Forum ranks/positions (What do those shiny coins under my name mean?) on: July 28, 2014, 01:14:33 PM
Hi,
Sorry for the silly question, but i am wondering what is the main factor and is there a formula of the activity of a member. For example now i have 196 activity and 460 posts how i can increase my activity?

Activity is updated every hour. Every two weeks, whether you post more than 14 or not, only 14 posts will be counted as activity. See this post :

The activity number is determined in this way:
time = number of two-week periods in which you've posted since your registration
activity = min(time * 14, posts)

The new membergroup limits work like this:
GroupRequirement
Brand New0 posts
Newbie(none)
Jr. Memberactivity: 30
Memberactivity: 60
Full Memberactivity: 120
Sr. Memberactivity: 240
Hero Memberactivity: 480

I'm not 100% sure that the membergroups work correctly. Tell me if you see any bugs.

Kindly,

I didn't know that Bitpay doesn't requires confirmation? Why didn't they check it? Huh Is double spend a problem? Really this is against BTC rule, right? Smiley

Thanks everybody for telling your suggestions. If you know more good sites please reply. Smiley

snapcard.com was awesome for this before it shut down "temporarily"
They used to pay your taxes and accept payment for it in Bitcoin !

I really hope they come back online soon as that seems to be a very useful utility.

Do you know when they will be online( apprix time ) ? Any other BTC accepting site?

7568  Economy / Services / Re: [0 avail.] UPFRONT PAYMENTS FOR YOUR SIGNATURE - Limited offer. | lunamine.com on: July 28, 2014, 06:41:19 AM
I noticed there were no comments this time. Obviously those of us who were accepted are doing fine but I for one would like to know if my "results" were bordering on making you not accept me for the next round and I bet others feel the same. Maybe before kicking someone out (I.e. Not accepting them after they tried to re-enroll) you could give a one week probationary period or something after giving them a "warning" (perhaps via PM) before just dropping someone out of the blue. Was anyone dropped from last week who had tried to re-enroll?

Thanks Luna you're doing great with communication and payments!

He is trying to give opportunities to new members. About re-enrolling, I think it all depends on the time of their posts. Sometimes he might not see your posts, maybe you're unlucky - try to PM him with details, he may accept. { Please don't fill his inbox with spam - read OP before sending a PM }

7570  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: http://www.pyramining.com/ - Discussion thread (no advertising here) on: July 28, 2014, 06:24:46 AM
Good point. It could also be weighted so that those that have few or none would get some.
I dunno if I would go along with weighting it...

I would think just going by active account is enough. The % bonus is relative to the amounts that were deposited anyways.

Basically, just loop... pick account at random... is it active? no? repeat... yes? set referral to that account.

Favoring one account over another based on what the deposit was doesn't seem right to me, and ends up being less random, when each account would otherwise have an equal chance of getting the referral assigned to it.

=squeak=

I am sorry for not telling correctly. What I told was putting the newly registered member under member who joined just before him. If that account has 1 or 1+ ref, then newly registered member can be put under any member who got no referral.

If that option is there, it would be easy. In BT++ script there is a similar option but can only do in chat. They can make a button near to 'quote' , IMO .

After paying fees for both exchanges you will got zero profit.
If all he can capture is a $1  price different the trading fees would actually cause him to have a loss

I think he gave us an example on how it works. If you want to get profit, you will have to trade after the USD/BTC price increase by at-least $50+ . I don't think it is good idea to trade now as the price isn't reaching $600 . The price is going down and then going up in between $580 and $592 .

7574  Other / New forum software / Re: Should be clear if one gets a message from the forum/staff/theymos on: July 27, 2014, 11:45:52 AM
It shouldn't be that hard to highlight those PMs in some discrete, but noticeable way(visible on phone and tablets as well). I think the highlight should be applied on the PM list.

The forum could display a banner, or even change the theme colours when a message from the admin or moderators is read.
Highlighting would be nice but still I don't think it can be seen very easily in phones. Like 'Vod' said, displaying a banner would be great ( like a banner that shows when the person is banned ) . They will spend some time reading it as it is unusual.

Trying to restrict similar usernames would be futile, IMO.

+1.

7575  Other / New forum software / Re: Better search facility on: July 27, 2014, 11:24:03 AM
I think an FAQ would help out.
But how would I search for the FAQ?

Less cynically, but just as valid: no one reads documentation...

+1.
You are right, most of them don't read documentation. Sad It makes them feel that they are wasting time. Lips sealed

I found an option for advanced search just now :
Click on the search icon and a page will appears which gives better search options with nice features. There is Google search too. Smiley Am I wrong about anything?

I must say this name really looks like admins especially for those with bad vision the "rn" converge into m, But what's the point of making name like this? To send pm's asking for password or something like that?

There are auctions and other such related things going on. So if a person who's name is similar to admin's he can ask them BTC and all. He can make money by sending some fake PMs.
Examples : https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=594692.msg6622966#msg6622966 | https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=665923.0 .

Hello! I found many tax filling sites. One of the site I found is http://www.hrblock.in/. Anybody using such sites? Do you know how it works? Do the person want to send them money or can the person pay directly?

7578  Economy / Economics / Re: Cex.io: the largest Bitcoin cloud mining service, not a profitable investment on: July 27, 2014, 10:49:28 AM
"not a profitable investment"

That depends on WHEN you trade and to WHO for WHAT price.

Some people defensively made a profit there, buying the Ghz cheap and selling them expensive and in the mean time making profit from the BTC they mine. Right now it might not me a good time to buy Ghz there, but if one were holding Ghz it might be a good to sell them to some fool who pays overprice for it.

In the end someone will make a profit and someone will make a lose. Not to strange.

+1.
Earlier people traded GHs in Cex.io and made profits. They buy GHs when the price is low and sell it when it increases. They got profit just for trading + they got some BTC before they sell the GHs as it was mining. But now the price is neither decreasing nor increasing. It makes the investment in Cex.io non-profitable. If they increase the price of GHs, then the persons who already invested will get profit and if they decrease the price, new persons can buy and sell it when the price increases.

7579  Other / Meta / Re: I can't post anything on: July 27, 2014, 10:35:21 AM
I'd suggest you simply copy each message before posting and try again after some time whenever you fail to post.

If you lose a post due to the limit, a draft will be saved.

Thanks for telling it. I didn't know there was a 'Draft' feature. Was there any ANN ?

why does a login count as a post in the 360 second timer. i think it catches a lot of newer people out.
is a login that counts really required ?
Exactly. And search limit is also stupid IMO.

The forum search doesn't work very well indeed, and so I never use it to be honest.
It is much easier and better to use google search with site:bitcointalk.org.

That is good idea. I just search on Google and I get the results what I wanted. You can use bitcointa.lk , it has good search engine.
