7801  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Vanitygen: Vanity bitcoin address generator/miner [v0.22] on: July 16, 2014, 11:55:21 AM
1 question, guys  Wink

If I've generated a vanity address without internet connection and closing terminal after finishing, there's any log or something like that with what I've generated?
(Hope that not Cheesy)

Cheers!
There isn't,  unless you activate the option to write the result to a file

How can I activate? How can I submit in vanity pool about the results manually?
Kindly,

Yes, that is the latest version. I'm using it right now and there isn't a newer version on GitHub Wink

Is this a real one which is approved by the moderators. If it is, why doesn't they add this to forum?

These are brilliant, I love them. And definitely agree that these pictures should be plastered all over the place. Well done.

ps. Apologies for the silence over the last couple days, take it as a sign that we are deep in the code and developments Wink

7805  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: GPU Mining. on: July 16, 2014, 11:27:47 AM
i think mining for average joes like us is only useful for a very very limited time when a coin launches, after that its pretty much game over.
The coin can be a pump and dump. You must have a huge community for the coin to be stable, you can't tell if it will even hit the exchange within that limited time.

Yes but the exchanges can be made by the persons who made the coin although it will take some time.

7806  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How much GHs should I have? on: July 16, 2014, 11:24:57 AM
Hello!
I am thinking about mining in a p2pool node. I don't know how much GHs should I have to get a decent profit. Can you tell me? Is 180 GHs enough?

Kindly,
        MZ
There is no real profit in mining.  Increasing the amount of Fiat you throw into hashing power will simply increase your investment lost.  Just buy and hold your bitcoin if profit is your motivation.

Buying a hashing power isn't a great idea. You will only get a small profit from it. Eventually persons behind this become richer and we will be same as earlier. They just give a small fraction of your payment. I agree that trading is a good way. Anyway for a newcomer it will be very risky. Everybody want profit if they are mining or trading. If there is no profit, there is no point in mining and nobody will.

Still waiting for my payment. Neg feedback is being left I would ask for the assitance of somebody on default trust to help clear up this matter.

I don't think that would be an option. Roll Eyes

7808  Economy / Services / Re: XBTec - campaign terminated on: July 16, 2014, 11:18:06 AM
I have this funny feeling, this time xbtec is gone for good

I hope you're wrong.  Has anyone checked in on his activity on the boards.  If he hasn't paid you guys by tomorrow, I'll go ahead and add my negative feedback (again!).  This time I'm kinding thinking that I'm not going to remove it even if he does pay.  I will change it to "paid eventually" however, IMHO, this kind of shenanigans actually deserves negative feedback.  People dealing with him in the future should know that he's so terribly disorganized, etc.

XBTec was a good person before. I don't why he is acting like this nowadays. I think he is real busy nowadays. Our lives can become busy easily, so I think you can give him some time for the payment.

Kindly,

7809  Economy / Services / Re: Those who rent out signature space---Unite! on: July 16, 2014, 11:13:50 AM
It's an interesting idea but I don't think the forum operators care to get involved in this sorta thing.  They have their business---running the forum.  They really don't have much incentive to get involved between advertizers and their contractees so I doubt it would happen.

That is why I told this Wink :
I don't know whether it can be established, I just told my opinion/suggestion.

I know it is very hard for the developers but they can hire some one who is willing to do for free. I think there are many persons who like to contribute to BTC. This can be used as a good opportunity for them.

7810  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is BitCoin faucets really worth the time? on: July 16, 2014, 11:09:44 AM
I did some faucets back in 2013. It was a waste of time then -- gotta be a colossal waste of time now. Roll Eyes

probably

but remember

if you did faucets in 2009 and kept the coins it would be worth it

if someone does faucets in 2014 and keeps them until 2019

will it be worth it? Smiley

Maybe, but even in that scenario doing faucets for hundreds of hours would still be less profitable than buying 5$ worth of Bitcoins and holding until then Tongue

+1.
You are right when considering electricity costs but if the faucet pay out was 1BTC per dispense he may get a great profit. I don't know how much BTC faucet gave at the time. Now there is nothing we can do about it except dreaming, it is waste of time telling about past things, I suggest you to tell what we can do now.
IMO it is better to trade BTC like lynn_402 told. You can buy as little as $5 and can sell when the price increases, you can get upto $10 when you sell, if you are so lucky, you may get even more.

I think it is a big problem right now
Maybe the best way is to buy coin since there is no safe site to go Sad

You can mine coins. Anyway, I am agreeing with you in trading. It is very profitable if you know all concepts and tips about trading. If you trade in a wrong way or in a wrong time, you will loose some BTC. I heard that Forex.com is giving some guides about trading. Check it out, it may help you. Smiley

I saw the summary. It is nice. I got a quote from the summary:
Quote
“Our scheme is much more transparent and we’re always capable to change it in accordance with users’ needs”, said Jeffrey Smith. And this is the way CEX.IO and GHash.IO are trying to operate towards Bitcoin community and platform users."

I am not telling that you aren't doing it but nowadays the price is a bit high, can you decrease the price a bit? It would be helpful. Anyway you have done a good work.

7813  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: [Choose the new Pywallet name] - Pywallet 2.1.6: manage your wallet on: July 16, 2014, 10:53:11 AM
Hi, i'm having trouble importing my backup keys to my main wallet. I get the following output: http://pastebin.com/ii6SfsWr

Can someone help me please?

Why don't you import using below command which is used commonly instead of using pywallet? Smiley
Code:
importprivkey bitcoinaddressprivatekey
You can only import 1 key at a time. Smiley

Can I mine to an address which isn't in my wallet with below command?
Code:
-a BITCOIN_ADDRESS : Mine to this address instead of requesting one from Bitcoin.

7815  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN] Bitcoin blockchain data torrent on: July 16, 2014, 10:46:46 AM
Alright. It took 26 minutes to download.
Now starting the wallet..

It says it's importing data.... fine...

10 minutes in... it has imported about 170'000 blocks....

1 hour later ... 230k blocks.

1.5 hours later .... importing block 250k.... importing sure takes a lot of time...  Sad but we are getting there...

2 hours, 270k (that's end of november 2013)... at this rate it should take another hour to finish...

I was wrong... 3 hours, it's at 283k... I give up... I have to get some sleep... lol...

PS progress bar is at about 40%... but don't think its an accurate estimation of time needed.

But if it is, then it might take another 3-4 hours to stop.... will see tomorrow...

You can use this command for increasing syncing speed from your computer not from internet. Smiley
Code:
-dbcache=<n>           Set database cache size in megabytes (4 to 4096, default: 100)

You can use this command to decrease the connection to number of peers, if it is affecting your internet browsing.
Code:
-maxconnections=<n>    Maintain at most <n> connections to peers (default: 125)
IMO it won't affect in a great way but might affect in a very low speed networks.

        MZ

I have changed my signature from Member's to Full Member's/Hero Member's but I know the color won't work now. Is there any problem with that? I changed it because more details about the site is there in Full Member's/Hero Member's signature than Member's signature. So if there is any problem, please tell so that I can undo it.

7820  Economy / Services / Re: [Coins Source] *Signature Promotion* Promote Something Positive - Bitcoin & SRCC on: July 16, 2014, 10:03:44 AM
SourceCoin (SRCC) is not on Cryptsy, Poloniex is confusing everyone by having SRC as ticker. The coin is SRCC not SRC
cen you srcc pay off on src wallet on www.cryptsy.com
Assuming I know what you're talking about, no, SRCC and SRC are not the same thing.

his has been specified before, and I have a hard time believing that you will be able to join the campaign because you have negative trust. Normally, campaigns don't accept users that have negative trust, but I do not know why.

But SRCC is NOT on cryptsy, and remains only on Poloniex.

+1. I couldn't see any person with -ve trust join in a signature campaign. I think you have to ask the person providing the service, whether he/she will accept you. The reason they don't accept -vely trusted user is that the community may not believe what the user tells, so they will be wasting giving payment for -vely trusted persons. I hope you understand what I am saying and please forgive me if I hurt you and I am very sorry.

Me and tk808 already told them that  SRCC is NOT on cryptsy, and remains only on Poloniex but they are still asking about it. I think they aren't referring before they ask or maybe they didn't see. Smiley
And about this:
SourceCoin (SRCC) is not on Cryptsy, Poloniex is confusing everyone by having SRC as ticker. The coin is SRCC not SRC

SourceCoin was earlier known as SRC but it was changed later to SRCC although SRC is still using. Poloniex is still sticked with SRC. I am not telling that they are wrong as SRC & SRCC are used now for Sourcecoin. Smiley
