1881  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is bitcoin going down? on: November 19, 2017, 08:51:01 AM
I think the peak of bitcoin is around $8000-8100. It never went up beyond that, do you think it could? Right now its below $8000
Patience brother, patience. The markets are not that easy to be influenced, the price will go up if there is a valid, legitimate reason to go up. Just like that the price doesn't rise. It might have happened in the past, but recently such a thing is not possible as more no of users will cause bitcoin to be more elastic(the degree of responsiveness will tend to be much higher)
1882  Economy / Economics / Re: Might not be a bad idea to sell off 5% of your stash.. on: November 17, 2017, 01:49:43 PM
And put up a buy at 4-8 fold under the current price.

BTC goes up and up from here you don't see that 5% jump.

BTC crashes as it likes to do, you seriously increase your position. Furthermore support is added at lower levels.
Selling your stash depends on the situation, now is not the time to sell, would rather wait for some more time, and maybe I'm looking forward to buy some more bitcoin but again it depends on the situation. I sold some of my bitcoin before the bitcoin gold fork when the price was a bit high and bought back again when there was a small dip, didn't benefit enough, so am planning not to sell anything at the moment.
1883  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin kill maximum alt coins? on: November 17, 2017, 12:37:11 PM
Now a days all alt coin markets has been dumping and dumping without any simple pump for the btc price increasing. So just i want to know that can bitcoin destroy the maximum type of alt coins market?
No. It cannot, understand these pumps and dumps just like the stock market. Bulls and bears buy or sell in order to make the markets volatile and for their own benefit. These altcoins will get pumped and dumped, and after sometime again the same thing will happen. Altcoins are the essence of trading and if most of them die, then the markets would become nothing but shit.
Pumps and dumps happen all the time, that's how trading works and if people are scared to invest in anything then let them just keep the money idle.
1884  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Where is the support, below 1000 USD and next 1500 USD or 2000 USD? on: November 17, 2017, 11:40:01 AM
I was wondering to jump (disclaimer: but I started to buy a bit by a bit),
I thought the support of BCH Bitcoincash at about around 400 USD and it reached almost more than 2000 USD,
it is clear that BCH is having support at about 1000 USD (https://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-cash-dips-to-1000-but-a-recovery-may-be-on-the-cards/).

I think it may reach new support and heading new way to more than 2000 USD if the price could break soon and back to near 2000 USD zone (https://cointelegraph.com/news/bitcoin-cash-pump-stalls-stabilizes-near-1500),
I am not quite sure,
What do you think?

As a user, I dont really care whether ETH BCH or BTC to be a backbone, I even think that we need more Smiley
Bitcoin cash crossing the 2000$ mark yet again, is kinda hard I guess, like the support is not as massive as bitcoin's support. It's just a pump and dump which is comparatively greater than any other altcoin pump and dump. There needs to be many more factors to influence the price to go up again, so the contingency of the price going over and above 2000$ is very less.
1885  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: LTC price 100 USD? on: November 17, 2017, 10:26:21 AM
It is up to 68 USD now, do you guys think it will act like bit coin cash and go up like crazy?
Litecoin is different from bitcoin cash. The scenario for the rise of bitcoin cash was totally different and kind of unexpected. It cannot be the same for litecoin. The highest price that litecoin has gone to is 85$ per litecoin,on 2nd of September 2017,and after the fall it has been oscillating from  40$-70$. The hopes are still high but this is definitely not the moment for the rise of litecoin,as bitcoin and bitcoin cash have all the popularity and the mass audience level.
1886  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC UP NEO IS DOWN on: November 17, 2017, 09:27:02 AM
what are you thinking neo coin future. now is volume down next week is how neo?
Neo is not the only coin which has gone down, a lot of alts have. The reason for it is that CME group of trading announced that bitcoin would be listed on 20th of November for some customer thing, I didnt read the article properly.  So basically the demand for bitcoin has yet again risen and the demand for alts will go down trend and hence, for some time we're going to see a bullish bitcoin trend again and a bearish altcoin market.
1887  Economy / Economics / Re: After Slamming BTC As A Money Laundering Tool JPMorgan Busted For Money Launder on: November 17, 2017, 07:07:39 AM
Didn't Jaime Dimon go to school? Didn't his teachers teach him the saying, " PRACTICE WHAT YOU PREACH? "
I think JPM have figured out the fact that what goes around, comes around. Also, if he didn't know, karma does the right thing to people, as in his case, it was a bitch. And please oh please, do your own homework ,Jaime, before you talk shit about anything.
1888  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it harder for altcoins to increase in profits now? on: November 17, 2017, 06:11:08 AM
Many coins earlier this year has 10x, 50x, 100x etc.  These are coins that are under 1 dollar etc.

I been looking at a few coins that are under 1 dollar.  However the issue is the market cap for many of these coins are really high.  If thats the case, does that mean a coin going from 10 cents to 1 dollar is much harder now than those other coins earlier on?  Because everyone mentions look at the market cap.  Because where are the altcoins that are under 1 dollar where the market cap is low then?  So does that mean those altcoins that increased a lot in the top 25 all had a low market cap?  If so why did they have a low market cap?

Also wouldn't it be very hard for a coin to 10x now even when 1 dollar or less?  It doesn't seem like its easier to do anymore compared to those top 25 coins that just skyrocketed etc.  I mean lot of coins costs cents and now are at least 50 cents which many are at least 5x or 10x now.  If thats the case, does that mean its hard for coins now to do that compared to earlier?
The reason why the market cap is low for few altcoins is because they know if the supply is less along with lower price, apparently the demand for the coin will be higher than that of an altcoin with greater supply which also will be having a lower price.
One of the main reasons why altcoins go up by 5x or 10x is because of the possibility of the altcoin getting listed in a major exchange or the team is trying to do something really good for a community or there is a buy back taking place.
1889  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why does bitcoin have such a big value/currency on: November 17, 2017, 04:51:46 AM
Why does bitcoin is such a big currency when converted in real money ?
In terms of monetary value? Yes, bitcoin is considered to be a big currency, because of the demand and supply forces in the market. More and more popularity and increase in the number of users. More altcoins going down the drain which creates a need for a good dependable crypto currency.
1890  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin Upcoming events? on: November 16, 2017, 08:30:29 PM
Hi guys,
Where can we track the altcoin upcoming events. Is there a site for this , if yes can somebody share it here?
Here is how you can sort things out:-
1. Ask them questions in telegram groups, bitcointalk announcement section.
2. Follow them on twitter, and you can basically figure out on what the future actions that may take place in the future.
3. Check their website out, you can see something called roadmap which would show the future calender of what the dev of the particular coin are planning to do or any future events that may not be updated in other areas.
1891  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do people actually buy coins with real life money? on: November 16, 2017, 07:37:43 PM
Now when BC is sky high and ETH also pretty high. DO people even give their real money for those currencies. I mean give 300$ for 1ETH or 6000$ for 1BC is too much for most people.
I mean how often do people buy crypto currency like ETH and BC
You mean bitcoin. People do buy, yes. Most of the time it depends on the circumstances, the people who buy it mostly are whales and people who are new to bitcoin, regular normal users don't tend to buy when the prices are high. But like I said it depends on the circumstances, and if a person has a state of mind which tells him to buy bitcoin or any other altcoin, he'll buy because of faith in himself.
1892  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Ripple team up American Express on: November 16, 2017, 05:14:24 PM
https://www.cnbc.com/2017/11/16/american-express-santander-team-up-with-ripple-on-blockchain-platform.html

American Express just announced they are getting into Blockchain-Based payments with Ripple.
So the pump prediction was kinda real? The rumors of ripple rising aren't fake, and this news is going to benefit a lot of users, great. I'm glad that I invested in XRP at the right time. Ripple I feel is very underrated for its popularity, it's market cap is huuge which makes the demand for it less  unfortunately in the long run, the price nearing to 1$, is kind of a difficult task for ripple. Even after it being centralized, not many are in the favor of ripple.
1893  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Cash on: November 16, 2017, 04:07:50 PM
What is the current state of BCH after the humongous pump it had. ?? Opinions
The thing is bitcoin cash has massive support by people in China from what I heard. Bitcoin cash will be getting more and more support as it was the only successful fork of bitcoin, so now what people think is that bitcoin cash has become trustworthy now and it is definitely worth investing. Bitcoin cash is easier to mine and also there are many more rumors spread across which also played a part in the pump, not to forget the whales and the initial supporters bitmain and the miner's tool antminer which gives amazing profit to them.
1894  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BTG (BItcoin-Gold) Will be the Next BCH - Like it or Not it Will Happen on: November 16, 2017, 06:27:03 AM
MOST coins traded are scams, and as long as 'traders' keep throwing their money away all these shitty coins will have value,

THE chinese made BCH go astro, they will do same for BTG

NOTHING is rational here, its all insane

Jack Liao would not have invested in this TEAM to get his 8,000 blocks ( 100,000 BTG ) had he not have some fucking plan long term in mind, in spite of the absolute KLUSTERFUCK, they did pull it off, and the Price is holding.

***

The Chinese Mafia Triads, the Russian Mafia, the Bulgarian Mafia were all behind this coin, I would suspect it will do VERY WELL Smiley

The absolute KLUSTERFUCK of the fork & launch will be legacy, but nobody will care, and only nerds will remember.
Wasn't the fail of bitcoin gold fork( I mean late implementation) and the suspension of segwit2x fork the reason why people put their money in bitcoin cash? Because as far as I know, bitcoin cash started to rise only after the news of the suspension of the fork got released? Even if bitcoin gold rises, it will be dumped one day or the other, and the same will happen to bitcoin cash probably unless and until the whales have something else going on in their minds.
1895  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which is more profitable trading exchange or mining and why?? on: November 15, 2017, 07:47:31 AM
In my sight, trading is much profitable compared to mining, though both of this job are needs capital but I choose trading as one of the good investment.
This is my example:
If you invest in mining it took a long period of time before you recover your investment and also you just need to spent much electricity. Are you agree?
On the other side, if you invest in trading and choose one of the better coins you can easily recover your capital together with your income, also in short period of time you can easily doubled or triple your investment. Are you agree?
Sure,I do agree that trading can be more profitable than mining. Mining is costlier in any country you live, even in china because of the massive usage of electricity and updated computers in terms of graphics like updating from GTX 950 to GTX 1080 Ti etc and in terms of return I think one can get a return after like 1 year or something. Trading on the other side,is more user friendly and does not require a technical background or knowledge which is required in case of mining. The only harm in trading is that sometimes, one can make a wrong decision or even the exchange in which one trades has a possibility of getting hacked.
1896  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Portfolio for 20K USD on: November 15, 2017, 06:04:07 AM
Ok, so here's the deal: apart from active trading which I'm writing about here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2331769.0 (BTW join in, we as a community need more quality trading ideas and not just retards who spam the thread with off-top messages for yet another bounty campaign)

I would like to invest 20K USD for a period of 3 month and not to touch this poortfolio at all, to see how passive portfolio crypto-investing works. My bearable drawdown is around 20% (i feel comfortable with the magnitude of this). So what would be an ideal portfolio to do so? Any suggestions? I'm thinking BTC + top ALTS, 5-10 assets within the portfolio.

Any suggestions are welcome!

What are you trying to prove by not touching your portfolio for 3 months, and you're happy with the loss you might get just because you won't touch your portfolio in between? Don't be so adamant, instead of you getting a loss, you can be actively part of it. If you don't have enough time to be actively part of the portfolio, what you can do is invest in small amounts which will be apparently lesser than $20,000. The possible altcoins you can include in your portfolio can be :- XRP,XMR,OMG,ETH,NEO etc. Didn't want to include BCH as the price has only been increasing ,and won't recommend you to invest in it at this moment.
A loss of 20% of 20,000$ is equal to $4,000. That can get you can get 0.6BTC or 12 ETH approx.
1897  Economy / Economics / Re: China's complicates Bitcoins miners on: November 15, 2017, 04:38:14 AM
We already know China's government has been ban initial offerings and bitcoin exchanges in since beginning of September this year.
At that time, all bitcoins exchanges in China have problems to continue this business. Some China's Bitcoins holder also divert all its assets to store in abroad exchanges.

Source from
https://cointelegraph.com/news/breaking-china-may-cut-off-cheap-power-to-bitcoin-miners
Quote
The statement regarding the cessation of cheap mining electricity indicates that the Sichuan Electric Power Company has issued a circular indicating that it will no longer provide the necessary power from its grid-connected hydropower stations. The circular suggests that Bitcoin mining is ‘illegal operation.’ The circular has yet to be confirmed.

If this true will be applied then China's is serious to fight this Bitcoins business.
Great, get ready to pay more transaction fees now. I don't understand what is the motive of China for banning bitcoin and related services or work? Mining in China contributes the largest towards the bitcoin community and if this cheap electricity is no longer provided to miners then everyone would face a lot of difficulties sadly.
Russia was trying to beat China in mining and we have no proper updates on it yet. There is a mayhem in the world of crypto currencies now, just we can pray to end this sooner.
1898  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How much capital to you day trade with? on: November 14, 2017, 08:49:35 AM
What sum of money do YOU day trade with? and how much profit do you expect to earn?

It would be interesting to know how much gains (if any), different traders make on a daily or weekly basis and what sort of capital they invest to try and profit.

Looking at many of of the exchanges, you see many alt coins going up by two digit gains so I would assume capital investment of between £1/5k on some of the ascending coins would bring back a decent return?
It depends on which altcoin I trade with. Usually it goes from 500-1000$,because the return is usually higher if the initial capital is high, but the losses can also be high at the same time, so circumstances need to be critically analyzed and then the appropriate investment should be made.
Usually, gains are caused by the pump mechanism of the whales but then if one invests at the time it's getting dumped then that'd be real bad luck.
1899  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ten great Reasons I invested in POWR on: November 14, 2017, 07:26:29 AM
The below are ten of the top reasons I invested in Power Ledger and why it IS bound to be a premium crypto in 2018

1) The CEO - The CEO is the mayor of Perth (major city in Australia) and has a degree in disruptive technology
2) Working Product - Already trialed in Australia and New Zealand successfully with current further ongoing trial happening right now in India
3)Potential Growth - Coinmarketcap has yet to be updated but the circulating supply is 350,000,000 tokens (which makes Mcap around 50 million mark) so still young plenty of growth
4)Exchanges - Got on Binance the very first day ICO tokens were released and has another major exchange listing to be announced very soon
5) Staking -  The token is not just a trading token but allows you to stake your POWR for % of returns from excess solar power sold from solar farms/wind farms etc
6) The market - Sunpower (one of the oldest solar power manufacturers around) have released research showing solar power market will be worth $5 TRILLION within 20 years.
7) The fanbase - The telegram has approximately 7000 subscribers and their Twitter has 11,000 subscribers and it is growing everyday.
8 ) Country behind it - Power Ledger is recognised as the first major Cryptocurrency out of Australia and has been on the nightly news and newspapers several times and Australians like to support their own
9 ) Big Players - Power Ledger recently completed presentation to The NSW government and Elon Musks offices have also signalled an interest and asked to review Power Ledgers material
10) Exciting Projects - Selling excess power to your neighbor is only 1 of Power Ledgers projects, in fact they will be releasing the first ever Electric Vehicle Charging Station on the blockchain before the end of the year

Here are some additional articles which really highlight the potential of Power Ledger and what an amazing Crypto it really is

1900  Economy / Economics / Re: WTF? $20.000.000.000 seem to have been poured into BCH in a couple of days on: November 14, 2017, 06:27:25 AM
Holy smokes, who'd have thought bitcoin cash will even go above 1000$? That's one of the main reasons why I personally feel crypto trading is better than stock market trading. A week ago, bitcoin's domination in the whole crypto capital was around 60%(As per https://coinmarketcap.com) ,and now that bitcoin cash started rising and bitcoin started falling, it's dominance fell to 53% ,that is a 7% blow to bitcoin, which in terms of money, goodwill is a lot of worth.
