1281  Economy / Services / Re: A simple bitcoin Q/A. Learn new and interesting stuff about bitcoin. on: May 11, 2018, 09:43:27 PM
That's like going back to uni class CS101, anyway

Endianness is ordering the bytes (or bits) in the memory, there two notations, big-endian (most significant bit) or or little-endian the (least significant bit).
So in simple words little-endian means saving the bits in reverse order.

Bitcoin use litte-endian notation.

Bitcoin is using SHA-256 algorithm for Block hashing -> it produces hash in little-endian (leading x number zeros)

For example ,this is the latest block Block #522238, below is hash and it is shown in big-endian notation:
Code:
Hash	0000000000000000001ea8f72b5af531257e061085973ff12cde30e882d57ce4

and in little-endian notation (Swap the bytes):
Code:
Hash	e47cd528e830cd12ff3f978510067e2531f55a2bf7a81e000000000000000000
Please ignore any typo as I typed in reverse manually

Now why litte-endian for blockchain its arguable, there are computational advantages in using little-endian but on the bigger picture there is no difference.
I understood a little,but what is its purpose,especially in blockchain? I don't know a lot/anything about it.

As for : Why is little Endian  used in blockchain , well it's because the dev team chose to Cheesy , (*) -> and also because the majority of new generation computers use little Endian so that's why i consider it as an optimization .
Why do they use Endian? I am worse than a noob at this,so do pardon me.
1282  Other / Meta / Re: Please restrict the serious discussion board to members and above. on: May 11, 2018, 08:59:13 PM
I have a proposal here too:
Let's create some more buttons instead of the 'Report to moderator', like:
-Report as copypaste/plagiarism
-Report as off-topic
-Report as ref.link included
-Report as low quality or something similar.
-etc...
Or, if you click on the 'Report to moderator' you should have a list with radio buttons to just easily mark the one that fits, and you don't have to write anything, this would save some time and effort for the reporters and maybe they will be more happy to report even more posts...
Maybe not buttons or radiobuttons, but maybe something like a drop down list. I have something like that on my phone, for example:

1283  Other / Meta / Re: Rules for merging threads? on: May 11, 2018, 08:23:01 PM
- Not sure how that affects the above cases (most of those threads, are already long [more than a few pages, especially for "case #1"]).
By far,the only case/s I have seen where threads have been merged is when one author of a thread was operating a thread before and then became inactive,so another author had to open a new thread, and merged the older one with the newer one so that he could handle it.
Can you give an example. Maybe this will great experiences for me, thanks seniors !  Kiss
Don't expect people to spoon feed you. Find your way through here, and learn to use the search feature.

- Searching/handling such cases through a single thread (that serves as a reference), should be easier than doing it across multiple threads.
Maybe yes,but then again new threads are created by the people. So the whole point of it makes it useless at  the end of the day.
I think its time for stricter and official rules to be enforced. For the betterment of the forum and its discussions.
1284  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Liqui Exchange creating false transaction id on withdrawl on: May 11, 2018, 08:15:55 PM
The worst thing in this case is that their support team isn't capable of actually solving people's issues when it comes to approving pending withdrawals. It's something only the operator can do for (likely) security reasons.

Everything related to withdrawals and other important things have to be forwarded to the operator to actually pull the trigger, and that we know can take an awful lot of time. Patience is the only option unfortunately.

Regular support is only allowed to provide informational support, which isn't helpful at all in these cases and only slows things down unnecessarily. Smaller exchanges always struggle with paranoid operators.

Yobit fits in that category as well.
Oh good gracious. This is horrible in writing itself, let alone real life. The regular support has to provide informational support but they delay in doing that also. They don't even respond or even give a little heads up so...
Yes, although I agree with the fact that almost all exchanges last year had problems on with their support unable to handle as many requests as they received on a regular basis, it's not an excuse for such poor performance.

Liqui should at least disable sign ups or trading for the time being until they expand their customer service team. Customers have the right to resolve their problems in a respectable time limit, and Liqui isn't cutting it right now.
If liqui disables sign-ups,it would make things for the worse. Newer people won't understand why and they will spread bad reputation for the exchange. Bittrex did that and look where they got themselves into. From one of the best exchanges to one of the worst exchanges.
1285  Other / Meta / Re: Share your thoughts : sMerit Review, Rank-Up Challenge, Signatureless Campaign on: May 11, 2018, 08:11:10 PM
I'm trying to consolidate the opinions of everyone that has chipped in thus far. Primarily though, you've summed it up nicely. From what I've heard from staff, it would seem that sMerit review belongs in Off-Topic (where it cannot properly operate). Therefore, so I can keep the flame alive I will remake my thread in Beginner's and Help with some tweaks to it. There will not be merit being distributed, only posting behavior, quality and the contributions being brought forward are going to be subjectively judged on their value and if need be, redirected towards a more productive way of being.

I'll probably be locking this thread up tonight, unless someone has anything else to add that is going to be a game changer. Mostly got all of the information and input that I needed to move forward. Now it's been clarified adequately, and I have a solution to my own predicament. I appreciate the input and votes from everyone. Going to leave this open, so that I can post a link to my new thread and you guys can give me critique or whatever is necessary.
You don't have to close down your sMerit thread you know.. You can use it as a bait for bots and report them Cheesy. And the topic you made is self moderated,so you can chose to delete the unwanted shitposts whenever you like.

How to stop this???
Report them? Or send a PM to any mod, with the links of the specific thread/post. Whichever is more convenient..

1287  Economy / Exchanges / Re: KUcoin forcing KYC for every users on: May 11, 2018, 08:01:39 PM
Well kucoin is a South Korean exchange, and we all know that South Korea is now forcing every exchange with tight and strict regulatory measures. Rumors is that there are that prosecutors are going after the largest South Korean crypto exchange,Upbit. There is a confusion whether or not this is a FUD.

Either way,be sure to withdraw your funds before it is too late, unless you are not afraid of verification.
1288  Economy / Economics / Re: What is with Buffett and Gates? on: May 11, 2018, 07:47:38 PM
Nah, I think they believe it.  Actually I wasn't aware that Gates thought this way, but I certainly knew about Buffett--and they're both entitled to their opinion.  It makes sense that WB doesn't think bitcoin is a good investment, as he's a stock market guy and doesn't see what problems bitcoin solves.  You'd think Gates might be a little more sympathetic, being a computer guy, but whatever.

I don't believe there's any sort of conspiracy here.  I think they got asked by the media what their opinions are on crypto, and they stated what they believe.  I have great respect for both men, and their opinions don't diminish that in the least.
Well,Bill Gates has said that he likes and dislikes bitcoin,in a rather indirect way. Someone even gifted him a bitcoin on his birthday apparently.

The thing is that both Bill Gates and Warren Buffett think that bitcoin doesn't belong to the asset class, which explains why they are against bitcoin/crypto. Some people believe in that, some don't. Everyone is speculative in their own way,so opinions of others changes their way of thinking, which again influences things in the right/wrong direction.
1289  Other / Meta / Re: Admins cleaning out the rubbish threads? on: May 11, 2018, 06:19:12 PM
I'm going to tag you. now you are acting as a judge? you want people to get fined? wait for the red tag, from now on people would call you scammer.

That is what marlboroza did to me.
By that logic, even I can go around kill sinners, just because of the fact that they are sinners, even if I am not a cop. Oh wait,it is illegal.
OP are you unhappy about the situation? this is the world we live in suck it up and act like a sheep.
He is not? Your slang sounds like The Pharmacist telling shitposters to shut the fuck up and go elsewhere to earn from bounties.
Instead of posting with different accounts, I'm posting with one account. so each part of my post is like a comment from different people.
I know I am going to regret asking this but what the hell: WHY?
The press section also needs some clean-up, and some new far more drastic rules.
Every blogger is spamming his own links there right now, with articles that are 99% copy paste.
Not only are bloggers spamming, people are literally posting every article that has ever been written related to bitcoin/crypto.

Please add shapeshift and Changelly's fees as well. A lot of people use that too.

1291  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: yo! community need your help . on: May 10, 2018, 11:57:43 PM
hey guys , i just made my bitcoin talk account , read the necessary threads for newbies .
i want to know more about it so can i have some links which can tell me more about the forum .
I just made a post relating something like this, so I might as well will just quote it:
I have a link for you : The one thread to link them all. It almost has everything that you'd possibly need to know. Don't be a dumbwit and you shall survive just fine.

1293  Economy / Services / Re: A simple bitcoin Q/A. Learn new and interesting stuff about bitcoin. on: May 10, 2018, 11:48:32 PM
Question :  What is blockchain Endianness?
I came across this from a different website, I am looking for answers so that even I can learn.
1294  Economy / Economics / Re: US Posts Biggest Budget Surplus In History on: May 10, 2018, 11:44:12 PM
And we know the job market looks good.
I am sorry but I just can't agree with this. There is recession all across the world. Companies that are looking to hire, are expecting way too much, even from beginners. Their salary is horrible. There is so much unemployment that one can only imagine. I am starting to wonder, what the US government has to plan with this new Surplus. Will they ever help people who are in need? Trump has shut down Obamacare so can't expect anything at all.
1295  Other / Meta / Re: Share your thoughts : sMerit Review, Rank-Up Challenge, Signatureless Campaign on: May 10, 2018, 11:35:51 PM
As I said, probably tonight I will make an attempt at creating a new board in the Beginner's and Help section, with some changes in priorities, terms and rewards. It'll be a reformed version, mostly just for evaluation and not for merit distribution.
Do you mean a thread?
Bill, which thread is making you confused, about it belonging to a specific section?
If it's your smerit review, it belongs in Off-topic.
If it's general post review without the involvement of merit, it belongs in Beginner's and Help.
1296  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to get know about good tokens on: May 10, 2018, 11:30:40 PM
Be careful with Bounties, a lot of emerging ICO companies are asking for kyc details due to regulation. Also if you're looking for good Bounties, make sur that the company is atleast transparent a little.
1297  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Lending Platforms on: May 10, 2018, 11:28:40 PM
If you're going to lend or borrow here on this forum, remember, NO COLLATERAL, NO LOAN.
I found a website telling about other lending platforms, have a look: https://www.cryptolendingprograms.com/
1298  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it a good way to start earning coins by doing Airdrop & Bounty ? on: May 10, 2018, 11:25:16 PM
And is it a good way to start with Airdrops & Bounties ?
In this forum, maybe not. If you only keep posting in bounty related topics, you may end up getting banned. Be careful on that. But it would be better if you get to know about crypto as a part of a learning process and not as a part of money making process.
1299  Economy / Economics / Re: What is with Buffett and Gates? on: May 10, 2018, 11:20:41 PM
What does either of them have to gain by saying Bitcoin and other cryptos are a sham?
It is a strategy, which will, I don't know make them more richer..? Isn't it funny when Bill Gates say crap bitcoin while Microsoft is working on their own blockchain technology  Smiley
1300  Other / Meta / Re: Chatbox here in forum on: May 10, 2018, 11:15:20 PM
I started a private chat box for a few merit awarders and DTs. It is useful to have somewhere private for a few members to discuss some of the board features. It isn't used a great deal though.
What you're referring to is different, which is a private group chat. A chatbox on the other hand is really not required and it will mess up things around here. Chatboxes are meant for exchanges, websites other than forums etc.
Right now if you need to talk to someone thru the forum then you need to constantly refresh the message page in order to operatively respond soneone else's messages. If you concider it as a special forum feature then it is totally fine now. Otherwise even a small communication (like making a deal and inviting a 3rd party as an escrow) could take way more time just because you don't know if someone sent you a message or not.
What I was emphasizing was that, don't replace personal messages, let it be as it is. If people want a group chat feature, that's fine. Let these be totally seperate.
