I am.  You cry a lot.
You sure, og? You didn't make the Forbes list of The Richest People of cryptocurrencies Roll Eyes No offense, tho.
QS is currently the 4th least trusted member.  The other three are long inactive...
How often does your web site gets updated?
1542  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think that crypto or token fusions are possible in the future? on: February 10, 2018, 04:30:44 PM
Aren't tokens actually the ones easier to merge?
They share the same protocol, you could easily convert a tokens and b tokens to c tokens, abandoning the first two and create another useless token.

But I doubt it would be better for the bigger coins.
No matter how you look at it, from the perspective of one that holds one of the coin it means printing money.
Most of the tokens are shit, inconsiderate of which platform they are built in. Merging would not help, maybe it would make things worse, just like how things work out in corporate. Two major companies screw up their whole reputation(if any) in the name of a merger.
And why would a better coin share resources with a failed coin? It would drag it down also.
The most popular coin can just make a hardfork and copy all the feature of the other coin , without any merger.
If we bring in corporate world into this, then from that point of view, major companies like taking over small companies, for two reasons: They have a new product to work towards, and their reputation grows as people see that this company did a "good thing" and bullshit. Now if major crypto-related companies do so,people would talk good about it,another reason for the coin to be pumped. So what is happening is goodwill of the reputed company makes people think nonsensical facts and this becomes a reason for them to "HODL". Sad reality check.
1543  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Best Bitcoin to USD exchanges? on: February 10, 2018, 02:49:45 PM
Localbitcoins.com is one of the best exchanges for bitcoin - USD pair if you're living in the US. Escrow options are available within the site and I personally have used it without any issues, I have never heard of any complaints from users using their site.

1545  Economy / Reputation / Re: I Got hacked?? Someone used my all sMerit on: February 10, 2018, 10:41:54 AM
What about your alt account ankit11 u=1607556 - did it get hacked too?
No
My alt account is safe.
How do you know that? Did you change password or something?
I used strong password on new account.
But in my old account I used guessable password. Which I never change till now.
Read this then: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=159424.0
@OP,you say your account was hacked but only for a week and then suddenly you got claim to your account? Also, are people so desperate much to hack random accounts just to send merits? I don't buy that shit.
1546  Other / Meta / Re: Huge Watchlist on: February 10, 2018, 10:24:30 AM
You can clean your entire watch list by Selecting the "Mark all messages as read" option on the top right corner of the page.  And ooh, that mysql statement  Shocked

This would clear the unread messages of the topics/board, but topics would stay as part of your watchlist and show any new replies to those threads.

is there a way to "permanently" clean my watchlist?
as in permanently never give me notice anymore if there's new replies to those threads
I would like to "ignore" some of the irrelevant old threads in my watchlist
I think this should help. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=338591;sa=notification , as in your case, deselect  the first checkbox,
If not, just go here :- https://bitcointalk.org/watchlist.php ; select all of them and remove them ,though I believe this is temporary.
1547  Economy / Economics / Re: Do you think that crypto or token fusions are possible in the future? on: February 10, 2018, 09:04:02 AM
I wander if in the near future some tokens or coins can fusion together...like for example in the stock markets or acquisitions, when big holdings buy other companies or when there's a fusion of 2 companies into a bigger one...

Do you think it is going to happen also in the crypto ecosystem?
A merger between two or more cryptos would really be humongous  and overwhelming. It would obviously be for the betterment of both the coins into one,a lot of audience would be attracted to this, but finding a perfect match for both the cryptos is almost as impossible, cause we know how cryptos function and most of them are ERC20 tokens or built on waves platform or some lame ass motive(promoting a shitcoin to go to the moon and the like). Litecoin was developed only because they wanted faster transactions. We can go on and on about this but most of the cryptos,IMO are shit if it has to be used for a merger. They are only beneficial when it comes to trading or mining.

change the address type to legacy from Segwit

I did..lol..Cheers
Did it work?
Hello,

I am having the same problem... but I don't know how to change my address type from segwit to legacy... When I open my nano ledger it says it's 'segwit' ...

Trying to figure out how to change it to legacy but it doesn't give me the option when I open my wallet...

Any help would be greatly appreciated Smiley

Jeff
Go to settings, click blockchain, and you'll get the option of selecting legacy/segwit address. Hopefully it should work as this is the same case for that of bitcoin.
Edit:-
I just selected legacy address on Ledger and worked fine, cheers guys.
Great! Lock the thread then.
1549  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Payment proof on: February 10, 2018, 07:58:29 AM
That's great man! 98 satoshi's is a good start. Now you just need to spend a few years of your life in faucets to earn at least .001BTC which you can use to change your life.

And this is all thanks to cryptocurrencies which is created solely to help the poor.
FTFY. Cheesy

Wow!! I have just been paid from this site.
See here:

That's indeed flabbergasting. Whoop whoop,a faucet site paid its user, its not a scam/ponzi anymore is it? Roll Eyes
If you really have the time to claim from such faucets,I'd rather recommend you to learn much about crypto, and trade or mine cryptos. Here are some links to help you out:-

1550  Other / Meta / Re: Solutions for the spam problem? on: February 10, 2018, 07:37:57 AM
With all my respect sir Blazed.
why you removed "The Pharmacist" from DT list?
I know you have convincing reasons and respect it But this is unfair especially after the application of merits system "He showed a great wisdom in his last feedback"

hope to review his trust list and tagging everyone who deserves it.
Blazed wasn't the one who removed him. It was Tomatocage and OgNasty. Those two excluded The Pharmacist from their trust lists thus resulting The Pharmacist to be removed from DT.  Cry
1551  Economy / Reputation / Re: The balls of a moron: adekpulpen. on: February 10, 2018, 06:21:42 AM
Hi sir? i can't message you so i post here in your thread, Why you put some negative feedback in my profile i didn't scam any people Sad

Simply view it in this manner.

A person who has  an account here has some social associations with other people - in other words the other people "know" that person via that account. If ever in future that account has been sold then the socially associated people would not be able to decipher whether they are talking to the same old friend or lurking scammer. This is why account sales leads to scams.

Secondly accounts are sold here to get in signature and bounty campaigns. Which is fairly obvious why they are to be tagged.

@The Pharmacist
Dude I am jealous that morons are PMing you for merits. I wish they would PM me. I would gladly give them something they "deserve"  Grin Grin Grin
Thanks for explaining sir i didn't know that rules im so sorry and thanks to @The Pharmacist for removing the negative feedback Wink

It wasn't removed, he just isn't in Default Trust anymore. Are people really this clueless?
No shit they are clueless. They are just stubborn enough to not knowing anything except for shitposting, sending and receiving tokens and abusing sig campaigns.
1552  Economy / Reputation / Re: Quickseller’s Rumour-Mongering on: February 09, 2018, 08:44:19 PM
I have other general reasons that I listen and do not ignore, as I've stated in the past, but this is a big one. I've tried to look out for newer members of this forum as much as I can. Primarily because, well, I'm "once bitten, twice shy" due to what I would call semi-intelligent swindlers. I don't believe I was uneducated as a "new guy" and tried to be vigilant and cautious but it didn't seem to matter because the swindlers always seemed to have nonchalant ways to get themselves out of situations and they love the "new guy" because they are generally more gullible and less of a voice, no matter how much this forum tries to roughen them up to be vigilant. For me, ignorance may be bliss but knowledge is power.

If we all had QS on ignore, this thread might just sit here left for new (or current) members to speculate.
Regardless, QS should be well aware before he even posted this thread that this type of stuff is nonsense when you are not going to reveal the source or any information... it's completely baseless. So, I'm expecting something... maybe the source is Ryland??  Shocked

Was QS confirmed as selling this DT account?  I did not see a signed message and no phone call to Salty, so I couldn't accept Ryland's message as true while the account was technically compromised. I'm not sure what signed message Salty is referring to in his last post on that thread?
It seems like the account was compromised. Also, this message was signed by Ryland as he didn't have access to his previous wallets :-
I found this:
Hey guys, I ended up being able to access my old wallet using a hard drive enclosure.

Quote
Loan Amount: 1.2 BTC
Interest: 20% (extra 0..4, adding up to a total of 1.44 BTC)
Collateral: BitcoinTalk Account
Reason: bill Repayment Date: June 30th, 2016 (At the latest)
BTC Address: 1Ah7dq8ujDUSJvuiqKdEx71pLHssECSNhV

The above message is signed by the address I used in the past to hold a small portion of this forum's treasury: 17WmKCPdbu1GRUdPRJ1wNAMEr7F5HhnUU1

Code:
HITwHSftsJkqGTWTaX77RRQOUVZXMXkVr5Kw15rFkgs1VcHIHhNoYR2Ak4/kZe1xl7wYLMPSoF9CubO7L9RcLaM=

If this works for anyone, let me know. The terms are flexible, so let me know if there are any adjustments that you'd like to be made.

Edit: I'm aware that the amount I have requested in this post differs from the amount I asked for when creating this thread.
Maybe Salty Spitoon means this,maybe.

Also looks like QS moved from -1010 to -498 somewhat recently so he may have just slipped underneath amaclin?  Although QS is still a bit more active... wonder why the score went up?
Looks like someone removed The Pharmacist from DT,though I am not entirely sure on this.  Cry
The Pharmacist was excluded from Tomatocage and OgNasty's trust lists, therefore his trust rating no longer shows at DT depth 2.
Didn't know about this.
Had to make some edits.
1553  Other / Meta / Re: Trust problem: Need help with forum administration on: February 09, 2018, 04:45:00 PM
And is it forbidden to trade operations? I sometimes buy tokens from people before they go to the exchange, hypnos sold them to me a couple of times. If this was my account, then I probably would remove all traces and the more common address from the profile. But I still initially said that I have nothing to hide, we are not one person, I just know him on the forum. The fact that I appreciated the post of merits, I do not see in this violation of the rules, why do you see it!
Give some sound to your claim, chat logs for example. Don't make that shit up instantly, people notice everything and anything. The merit/trust system is not moderated, the rules don't specify everything, its as per the community's gesture.
Tip: Think twice before you do or say something. Smiley
1554  Other / Meta / Re: very difficult to get merit on: February 09, 2018, 04:33:27 PM
@mods,why isn't this thread thrashed yet? Almost 85% of the posters in this thread are repeating the same thing over and over again, worded differently.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2900816.msg29835245#msg29835245

Does this post should be merited?  Tongue
Spammers are now making ways to make their posts lengthy. LOL
The link that you direct to is most probably made by a bot. Mods,do you think he needs to be banned?

@OP,stop being a scum and rather read on how the forum functions if you really want to "rank up and earn merit".
Hello.. I created a group about how to learn merit, come join now! https://t.me/joinchat/H0xpdk9Ksz-caI70fG0Dmg
You have got to be fucking kidding me. A telegram group for learning how to earn merit? Theymos has explained it already,a ton of users have also done the same, there are at least 6 infographics explaining merit, what else is it that one needs to learn about merit. People are acting as if they are some dyslexic individuals.
1555  Other / Meta / Re: Add a poll to an existing thread? on: February 09, 2018, 12:14:46 PM
No, I don't believe so. An admin may be able to do it though. If you create a new poll I should be able to merge the threads together if you want to try that.
Can you also like merge the numerous threads on how users are unhappy about the merit system, how it has ruined their "lives", the "demerits" of the merit system and so on...?
1556  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: About possibility to Sign messages in Segwit address in future on: February 09, 2018, 07:53:10 AM
I tried signing a message using ledger nano S, for my segwit address but the output that was generated was totally different including the address. I wanted to sign a message for segwit but I got a signed message for a random legacy address. Thoughts?
1557  Other / Meta / Re: Why changing the email and the password is so easy !!!! on: February 08, 2018, 09:40:27 PM
Because there is no 2FA yet and the passwords that most users keep is just as terrible as their shitposts. Guessing the passwords are more easier when hackers have access to usernames. Poor security measures are the reasons why.
Slightly off topic :- When users sign in why doesn't the forum ask for email ids along with password rather than asking for username and password, because the latter only benefits the hacker?
Users do get email notifications when someone tries to get access to their accounts, right?
No they don't get any notification when someone tries to access their account, they only get a notification when it's already too late and their email and password have been changed, and that's where the problem lies, they won't be able to know that they are being hacked.
Some one tried to gain access to my account using the forgot password feature and I received an email, but I don't think you receive an email when some one gets access to your account and changes email /password /both. This suggestion of yours may or may not curb down the number of hacks but should be worth a shot.
1558  Other / Meta / Re: Huge Watchlist on: February 08, 2018, 09:23:14 PM
What is the difference between https://bitcointalk.org/watchlist.php and https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=watchlist? They have totally different formatting and background but they are watch lists at the end of the day.  Huh

The way I look at it:
Edit watchlist: https://bitcointalk.org/watchlist.php
View watchlist: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=watchlist

View would show any topics in your watchlist that have new unread replies.
Edit shows all topics in your watchlist... just because it isn't appearing under the "View", doesn't mean it isn't part of your watchlist - waiting to appear when a new reply is added.
Now I get it. Seems to be pretty simple but confusing in the first place. But anyhow, thank  you.
1559  Other / Meta / Re: Why changing the email and the password is so easy !!!! on: February 08, 2018, 09:21:22 PM

1560  Other / Meta / Re: Huge Watchlist on: February 08, 2018, 09:16:37 PM
Do you maybe have any "Boards" added to your watchlist?  ... which would cause all threads to be added to your watchlist under that board.
I do. Just didn't know that's the way it worked.
Does it really add each and every single thread in these boards to the list? Damn.
I always believed that'd be more like a "select * from thread where board in watchlist" thingy.

Oh my, the more you know Roll Eyes
Now, just how do I go about cleaning my watchlist?

My understanding is that any new topic created after you've added the board should start getting added individually under your watchlist. Which I guess would be like a select * from all_threads where Board is in watchlist AND topic_replies is null  Tongue
*If "Meta" was one of the watched boards, you may have seen a spike recently in new topics due to the merit system.

Are you trying to clean the watchlist or just clear it? Smiley

Clear
Edit Watchlist: https://bitcointalk.org/watchlist.php
Select All, then "Remove Checked"

Cleaning
Edit Watchlist: https://bitcointalk.org/watchlist.php
Good luck with the checkboxes.
Click "Removed Checked"

... and obviously unwatch any boards you do not want feeding into your watchlist.

You can clean your entire watch list by Selecting the "Mark all messages as read" option on the top right corner of the page.  And ooh, that mysql statement  Shocked
