Now all we need is a break on the difficulty. I really think there are too many people using their miners as heaters.

Has there been hashing power dips in relation to the price on the pool?

The hashrate didn't really move since like 2-3 months.

We go up a bit when we hit a new block or when we have some good luck otherweise we pretty much stand between 1650-1800 TH.

Low luck is really annoying, I got my first S3 last week dramatically increasing my hashrate from 12Gh/s to 450Gh/s... Still waiting to get a payout.  Grin

We made it ! As the usual Tongue

Congrats on your S3 !

Seems Sp 20 prices dropped yet again, another $100 drop per unit and maybe i'll bite  Smiley

sp31 and 35 price drops as well.

They still take way too long to break in in the current market 300 or so days

I bought 2 from the "holiday group buy" for 500$ each, now the mini farm is 1200$ for 3 units ... wish i had waited for that deal. I never made 100$ us by unit in 2 weeks ...

yup I feel the same, It seems the golden rule to roi on hardware these days, is to never buy until several rounds of price drops otherwise you gonna get burn simply  Grin . I feel double burnt since I also bought a unit from their special for Black Friday at 695 plus shipping I believe.

Well that's a shame for Spondoolies-tech in my humble opinion because WE are the customer and we feel we got burnt. Next time, i might not buying from them ...

I didn't make calculations but let's say I made 100$ (which is highly not probable). I lost 100$ just because i didn't wait 2 more weeks. If i would order today, i would get my unit in like 3 days. and i got 3 units instead of 2 for 200$.

Youre kidding right ? If you want any home mining hardware right now SP-TECH has the best priced miners yeah the s5 is out there but right now with the current price adjustment the Sp20 is a better deal.

Prices were bound to go down with this latested drop in BTC otherwise SP-TECH would not be able to move ANY units.  Don't blame SP-TECH blame the econmics of BTC/FIAT fluctuations.

Personally I still wont buy anything other than the 15 peice mini farm but I won;t buy it till it drops to around 4500 other than that I would rather buy BTC which is what I am doing now.

Its better to buy BTC at current prices than buy hardware unless you have sub .08cents power.

My only complains is a huge price drop in a matter of two weeks. You're right since the BTC dropped not much they can do if they want to keep selling. This is still letting me with the same feeling ;-)

I only bought two units ...

I have a sub 0.08 cents power ;-)
If you have sub .08 cents power you should be averanging down on your hardware cost then by buying more units. I pay .11- .12 cents for my power and its bascially
unfeasible for me to keep mining but i still do it at nearly a loss

I have around 7TH that is downclocked now to 5.4 TH and i just about break even.  I won't buy any hardware unless it can pay for itself in 3  - 4 months and currently there is nothing out there that will do that unless BTC jumps back to $350ish with my power costs.

I guarantee you if I had power that cheap I would be buying the 15 pack right now rather than BTC.

Well my electricity is limited and i couldn't run 3 more units at my home unless I add 20 more amp (or 40) to my farm. My girlfriend would also probably kill me Tongue

The electricity price is like a investment for me and since i don't consume that much. I don't really care about it.

If you bought with BTC, you probably came out ahead. Likely if BTC was at $400 the price wouldn't have dropped.

Very good point, maybe I should have bought in BTC then bought BTC at 160$.

But since I want to keep my BTC, I bought in dollar.

Wish i knew right !! Cheesy

Quick question: on the SP31's I seem to have issues with the bottom psu's having the orange/red light errors, and half the box stops hashing.

I have over 30 SP units, 30's 31's 35's and only the SP31's seem to do this. and its always the bottom psu...

any suggestions?

30 units ?! wow i would hate to  have your power bill

I wish i had his Hashrate !

Hi Fefox ! Since Koi left, you're my new hero ! Tongue

Bought two SP20, very happy with them !

I run the fan speed at 20% on both units. The problem is => I have one of the unit that is having a "Resonating Wave" sound at 20% speed. I know it's bad luck. Is anyone else experimented the same thing with a unit ? It's like going on a medium-high pitch every 2 second or so ... "wouuuuuuuuuuuuangggggg ....... wouuuuuuuuuuuuuuang" (<= hahahah nice try isn't Tongue)

I tried to use foam just to try to block the wave with no luck.

I can ALMOST get rid of it if i play with my hand and the airflow.

I guess if i could run it at 21% or 22% i might get rid of it.

This is soooooooooo unlucky Tongue

Thanks  !

i had one unit resonating like this. changing fan to 30 fixed it, paradoxically.

yeah i kind of think of increasing the fan speed but it's already to the limit for noise it created for my in-house mining. (i wanna keep my girlfriend). So i will try to set it to 30 and see how it goes.

thanks ! Smiley

EDIT: How much louder it is from 20 to 30 ? I'm not home at the moment, just curious Tongue

i would say not much, maybe 5%, but a different pitch (less whine).

thanks for the info Tongue

so I tried 30%, the wave is now so fast that can just barely heard it BUT the sound is just louder, another pitch of sound then the other unit at all % between 20 and 30. I'm pretty sure it's all about the fan.

I tried 24%, 26% and 28% seems to be the compromise.

I Will try to get an RMA or either bought another one.

Thanks for the help guys !

Chaositec,

Did you manage to get your hand on one of the prototype controller board ?
nope...

Just asked Jabber for some news and he's currently overwhelmed by all the command he have for his breaking boards business.

He will assemble the prototype as soon as he have some time.

yeah, but time (i.e. difficulty level) is running out...

i ended up buying up the needed cp2102s now i have 14 boards running with cables directly connected to the pcb since the connectors i got are crap

yeah I was kind of hoping I would be able to replace all my CP2102 into a single card now that i have 8 original cables Tongue

Hey guys, I ran a search through this thread but couldn't scratch up an answer.  One of my SP20s is hashing fine, but the time and date on the machine is not correct, and it breaks the graphs.  Has anyone dealt with this issue in the past?

Cheers.

lcf.

I have the same issue, it doesn't match the timezone i have set in the settings.
